Mel Walker is an award-winning rare bird, the male romance author. Specializing in heartfelt small-town romance, he enjoys telling compelling romances with all the feels. A native New Yorker and life-long frustrated NY Mets fan, he enjoys baseball, reading, bike rides, and writing outdoors where he absorbs the energy of the city.
Ok so I've only read CA Miconi's story so far but what a heart wrenching story it was. It's a second chance romance, that actually started when the characters were in college, due to a bully causing Lauren to lose trust in Jake and flee, leaving him devastated. Now years later they both turn up to a domestic abuse case, maybe this time... I found this to be emotional, the subject matter and two young children alone, then with the characters history it vamps it all up, then you have the fact it's Christmas. I had a lump in my throat at times, there were some wonderful sweet moments, a little sneak of romance and a special time of year all rolled into a plot that had a twist or two. I was gripped and invested in all the characters and the outcome, so glad it was a HEA. I shall read the other stories soon. .
All of the FEELS with this one! I fell quick. I fell hard. I absolutely LOVED this romance! Truly an excellent read from the beginning to the end. This novel is worthy of more than 5 stars, I believe. Kiss You Back has the perfect amount of sexual tension, angst and undeniable heat - this friends to lovers story is utter perfection. The conflicts and struggles encounter here, however, lend a feeling of "will they make it" which is something Mel Walker does masterfully. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Great stories with relatable characters and content that kept me reading into the night. I was surprised at the great content of each story. For the short length with a lot of emotion and some drama and suspense. I have found some new to me authors I will be following in the future. Clean romance with no explicit scenes. I recommend as enjoyable reading, especially if you are looking for something shorter than a regular novel.
