Rate this book
Kimber Anne Garraith was perfectly content living in her family's cottage deep in the woods of Fayeharrow. Just she, her little brother, and the Fae Folk. When she stumbles upon a wounded Wolfen creature in her family orchards she comes to realize that perhaps she wasn't as content as she thought. That this creature of Nightmares might be her dream come true. When a monster of a different form leaves its brutal marks on her, she learns that kindness is key to healing and love is the most powerful form of magic. This is a sweeping, romantic tale set in a dreamy, cottagecore atmosphere. Fans of romance, fantasy, and fae lore will love this sweet and charming novella.

For lovers of fairytales who know even the brightest moments hold the darkest shadows; for those who'd walk barefoot in the woods in search of magic.
This story is for you.

This book was absolutely gorgeous! Sweeping, elegant prose, a magical cottage core setting, and a fierce as hell MC. This book hooked me until the last page. Did I mention the sizzling romance? Swooning pretty hard for Jericho over here. *sigh* I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time.

A dreamy cottagecore romance, FAOLADH tells the tale of a girl caught between men and monsters, fey and foe. The inside formatting is just as lovely as the cover, with cute illustrations and little quotes before each chapter. Full of fairies, sweet kisses, and healing touches, I so admired Kimber's steadfast courage and nearly fell in love with the mythical monster/man hero myself! Such a treat to read.

I adore this romantic little cottage-core, fae-lore novella! Why? Because it’s a tail of trauma and the love that heals it. Of a woman who is brave and strong, but still gentle and feminine. Of a man who is both beast and prince; fierce and gentle. And the reality that the true monster is not the one who possesses claws or fangs. This short slice of romance is one of those stories you know the author put a part of her soul into it, and I respect that kind of courage. If you like a good ‘ol ‘beauty and the beast’ trope, or the type of book that leaves you wanting to sip tea and eat fruit in the garden, this is for you.

Also, if you’ve read Firebrand, the little cameos of our heroes will make you end to ‘squee’!!!!!!

Brandi’s writing is so incredibly beautiful! While I was reading, my mouth dropped at the descriptions and literary devices used, making everything feel fleshed out! I really love the connection to her book “Firebrand” as it was fun to see a bit more into the lore of the world and how the fae operate. I also got excited when some characters were mentioned which made me want to re-read firebrand STAT! For being a novella, it really took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. the main character Kimber experiences many hardships that twisted my gut and wrenched my heart, but she is so strong while still having a softness to her. This lit some strong female rage inside of me and I was like burn baby burn…but don’t burn her! 😂😅

Not only does this novella have swoon-worthy romance in a dreamy cottage setting but it tells a story of strength. Not the typical strength we see in many fantasy stories where the heroine is seen as strong through her physical prowess or magic. This is a deeply feminine strength — one of kindness and heart. It was so refreshing to see this kind of strength and feminine-coded work celebrated in a genre that so often leans in the opposite direction.

And the romance — OH, the romance. Brandi has a way of building up the scenes so that I found myself nearly shouting at the characters to just kiss already! And then found myself re-reading the scenes just to go on that journey again.

This was such a cozy read after so many thick fantasy books. I really enjoyed the cottagecore vibes and the world that was created. It was enjoyable reading a story where the main character wasn't gifted with a magical ability until the end and that the focus was on family. It was a nice take on a typical werewolf story. I was confused at what time period this was supposed to be since there was a shower and running water but also knights. The ending felt a bit rushed and there were things in there I wanted more clarification on, especially about the Fae and Kimber's abilities. Overall though this was a really good read.

I had the absolute pleasure of reading this novel prior to publication to give an honest review. Faoladh is such a beautifully crafted story that is dripping in heart and enchantment. Though the story is short, the characters waste no time to capture your heart. This book is a fantastic story to read if you have already read Firebrand (the first in the Heroine series), but also has the gams to stand on its own. It tells a unique story that interweaves with the story and world of the greater series. While reading this I felt entirely transported into the wooded cottage core aesthetic.

Brandi Gann has an amazing talent for weaving words together in a way that makes you feel all the emotions. You can imagination yourself in the story along with the characters, rooting them on, and hoping for their happily ever after.

The love story in this novella is swoon-worthy. The prince is nearly perfect. Kimber is what every person in this world should strive to be: kind, understanding, honest.

I can't wait to see what Brandi comes up with next.

Fae. Curses. Romance. Jam.

This novella was the best dessert to Brandi Gann’s first book in her Heroine series, Firebrand. She brings cottage core whimsy to life again with Faoladh. If you enjoy reading tales of strong female leads who value family and find a beautiful love story... Get. This. Novella.

If you enjoy a good fairy tale, this story is for you. Brandi's writing will make your imagination run wild with the Fea and Silkies. You won't be disappointed!

It's a quick read with a very homie vibe. Her main character, Kimber, is a spit fire with a heart of gold. I couldn't get enough of her!

I also love Brandi's writing. She sprinkles little seeds of wisdom throughout the story; little life lessons we could all benefit from reading.

All and all, it's a great read!

This is a lovely companion novella to Firebrand. It features and mentions characters from the first book in the series so if you’ve read Firebrand this will serve you as a real treat while you wait for the next book in the series.

While it’s not an action packed fantasy as such, it is a sweet little romantic novella that is about inner strength, kindness and compassion rather than fearless heroines and bloody battles. Kimber is a heroine in her own right and her care for her brother makes her impossible to dislike.

It was nice to take a break from hard core fantasy and escape into this little romantic little story that screamed of cottage core.
