A house hidden in the middle of nowhere.
A man who’s lived alone for a decade.
A woman who trespasses on his solitude.
A love full of hate as well as hunger.

The thing about my life is...I was never in control of it.
I just I thought I was.
I thought I had everything figured out—a good career, fun hobbies, a bright future, but everything changed when I found an ivy-cloaked house, tucked in a forgotten valley, hiding the man who would corrupt my world forever.
I thought I was successful, until he showed me fortune and happiness could be snatched away in an instant.
I believed I was blessed, but really, I was cursed.
Cursed to become a plaything for a monster.
Cursed to become a prisoner just because I trespassed.

I just read a useless version of beauty and the beast. Except here "the beast" is a walking erection and "Belle" was never taught the basics of common decency.

Gemma is a YouTuber who rose to success thanks to her expertly done rock climbing & exploring videos. Tonight she has found a location in a national park she's never been to before, in fact it's a place that has never even been claimed, therefore the first to conquer it gets to name it after themselves. Gemma leaves for the road almost immediately, excited for the adventure and new content for her subscribers. Of course, she is extremely thorough with all the necessary equipment, has several trackers on her in case she gets lost and warns her brother of her departure.

The place she finds herself in is set in complete wilderness, rarely or never visited by humans. Unfortunately, once she is there she realised there isn't much of anything to climb or excitement to film, that is until she accidentally stumbles upon a mansion thoroughly hidden under greenery. A mansion she quickly realises is inhabited by a single madman who upon finding her, chokes her into unconsciousness and locks her up in a cellar.

HERE'S WHERE I TELL YOU THE HEROINE DESERVED TO BE KIDNAPPED.

She is a professional climber who has been on countless hikes.

She also loses her water bottle and instead of going back to her car so she DOESN'T DIE, just keeps going.

By the first 20% there have been countless and detailed descriptions of the way she works. How responsible she is. How she never leaves without equipment.

She also sees a house AND COMPLETELY abandons her backpack super far away to explore it.

The heroine stumbles upon a mysterious empty house that is extremely clean & has obvious signs of life. Did she perhaps wait outside until someone showed up and let her in? Did she...I don't know...get the fuck out of there?

Nope

She came in. Why?

Here's a pop quiz for all of my Disney fans out there:

Why did belle walk into a scary, empty castle in the middle of nowhere?

a) She came to save the beast
b) She needed shelter from the cold & the wolves hunting her ass
c) She went looking for her missing father

Why did Gemma walk into a scary, empty, CLEARLY LIVED IN mansion in the middle of nowhere?

a) She went looking for her missing father
b) She needed shelter from the cold & the wolves hunting her ass
c) She's a dumb bitch

DING DING DING

Both answers were obviously C

The house was empty. However, there was another level to explore before I could be certain.
No. Don’t be stupid. Think before you—
Too late.
I put one foot on the staircase and climbed.

She was begging to be murdered and she really should've been.

I was extremely bothered by Gemma at that point, so much so I voiced all of my frustrations aloud in the form of pained groans. This girl caused me to groan out loud so many times my parents were starting to get worried for me.

My mother even inquired as to why I keep disrupting "her peace" so I showed her the scenes. The ones where Gemma unceremoniously strolled into someone's empty home. And my mom, bless her heart, said to me "She walked inside with her shoes on??"

description

That's a very good point mother, one I haven't noticed and now I hate the heroine even more, thank you.

A STORY OF LOVE, HATE AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN HIS LEGS

If you thought this was a romance between Kas and Gemma, you were wrong. I have never read a more beautiful enemies-to-lovers portrayal than that of Kas and his Penis.

The poor man despised his dick more than anything but couldn't deny it the pleasure it was so desperately seeking. He even referred to it as a "he" 90% of the time. He fed it, he indulged it, he watched it grow, he talked to it and felt its emotions.

Gemma was just a ploy to please his one true love, his penis, which seemed to be in a permanently erect state. The poor man howled at night like a "coyote" (their words not mine) because he was so horny all the time.

VAGINA WITH A BIGGER BRAIN THAN GEMMA'S

gemma's pussy had a brain of its own because this book had the WORST case of betraying body syndrome ever (okay almost the worst, but the need to be dramatic can't be helped).

Even in a grief-filled forest after being marched by my killer, my body reacted.

Context^: Kas has taken Gemma to a forest to finally murder her, they end up having a full on physical fight where she tackles him. Of course, as she is almost getting murdered her body 🌸reacts🌸

But that's not even the maximum capacity at which her traitorous body 😳reacts😳

This hairy stranger who is more a beast than a man has taken her hostage, sexually assaulted her, choked her into unconsciousness two times, almost truly murdered her several times and then threw away the very last chance at her escape......this FUCKING MAN touched her ankle AND SHE BECAME HORNY.

His fingers tightening around the paper-thin skin of my ankle.
I swayed as the chemicals in my blood made me useless and utterly incapable of being rational.

Blood chemicals she said.

Oh my lord be with me, don't leave me in this time of need, I need the strength not to lose my ever loving shit with this fucking heroine.

THANK YOU PEPPER WINTERS, I HAVE A YEAST INFECTION NOW

I can't write this review without mentioning the muddy sex scenes.

I will forever regret saying this.....but it was kinda hot.

I'd like to preface this by saying that no dirty genitalia has entered another. They were dirty everywhere except where it really matters. Laws of physics and gravity don't exist in the Pepper Winters universe AND I CAN LIVE WITH THAT.

It's not like having sex on the beach is much more sanitary, it's actually really uncomfortable....just saying.

But thennnnn, the second muddy scene happened. We were blessed with not just two but three of them.

His bare cock thickened, smeared in mud and rain,

guiding my foot down his chest until my dirty toes pressed against his cock instead of his heart.
His teeth bit into his lower lip as he rocked his hips against my sole, rubbing his hardness against me, uncaring of the filth,

She rubbed him with her dirty foot🤢 NOW THAT smells like a urinary infection to me.

The fact that we were filthy.
That he’d come inside me and now licked me clean.
It was disgusting. It was mind-blowing.

Honey, him licking his cum is the LEAST disgusting thing ya'll have done tonight.

Two naked, dirty people who despised each other, sharing a respite from the rain with chocolate.

Is this an episode from naked and afraid?

THE WRITING IS GOOD BUT BAD

So I was initially gonna give it 3 stars because the writing was surprisingly decent. If we exclude the horribly long inner monologues filled with questions on top of questions on the heroine's part, then this was fairly well done, especially the vivid descriptions.

The problem is this book is also exactly the reason I hate reading about characters who have been sexually abused in the past. Kas was basically trafficked and pimped out to some powerful people along with other kids. His chapters grew exhausting but it was inevitable (otherwise it would be unrealistic). A character as traumatised as he is WILL have a similar thinking process full of anguish, confusion, distrust and anger. But once again, it's just exhausting to read, especially in a romance where the main....actually the ONLY conflict is the hero's inner issues.

THE ENDING WHICH I OBVIOUSLY HATE

No, it wasn't because of what happened to you know who, cause good riddance.

I had a prediction. Because I'm just so full of those recently.

I had a theory about a plot twist that I honestly never expected to happen. I wrote it down in my notes whilst reading. So here are my unedited thoughts before I finished the book: (hidden in a spoiler)

THIS BOOK WAS ✨USELESS✨

this book started and ended on exactly the same note. No character development, barely any relationship growth, same old conversations being spoken on repeat.

I know this is a series but the only thing that would even come close to propelling me to read the next book is the cliffhanger. I felt no attachment to anyone because they both stayed on the same level as at the beginning of the book, aka Gemma a dumbass and Kas a back & forth annoying asshole.

So thanks for nothing.

To end this on a good note though, Fable of Happiness was definitely a page-turner.

is this the best book out there? no way. did i struggle to put it down. absolutely.

any reader could open this up and see that its far from being well-written, but that doesnt matter to me one bit. theres just something about PWs storytelling that no matter how recycled, problematic, uninspired, or simple her novels are, i absolutely devour them. and this is no exception.

im pretty sure its because i can never resist ‘beauty and the beast’ retellings. just something about the tragic, tortured past of the ‘beast’-inspired love interest really gets me. its impossible for me not to root for a character who has suffered terrible things, and yet is still capable of hope and love.

this installment ends on an absolute killer of a cliffhanger, so book #2 cant come soon enough!

FABLE OF HAPPINESS: is the first full length dark romance book in the series 'Fable' by Pepper winters. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives, Gemma & Kassen.' And does end in a cliffy.

Holy crap!! our Queen of darkness is back!! This was phenomenal!! I literally picked this up and didn't put it down until the very end, this was so freaking good, beyond unique, this pretty much threw the feels at me as soon as I started and like a freight train colliding with my heart those feels just kept on hitting me.

It’s like Pepper Winters had tapped into my mind and had discovered a book I’d been seeking which hadn’t been written..Until now, because I loved the shit out of this book!
The seclusion
The isolated man
The broken man
All made for a riveting, captivating, sit on the edge of your seat, read!!

Gemma, twenty-six, YouTube extraordinaire, professional rock climber, self made millionaire, single.
mortgage free and lives in a pretty secluded lavender-painted house.

Kassen is like no other hero you've ever encountered, he's been used and abused, a creature of habit, his background is one of heartbreaking horror, he lives in absolute solitaire, half man, half beast, he's as complicated and as broken as they come. A forest dweller who wasn't fit for society. He lives in an abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere which houses 20 bedrooms, and is inaccessible by vehicle access. He hasn't seen a living soul for years and years..Until............

Gemma's on her way to Kentucky in her trusty wrangler jeep to scale the next boulder within an uninhabited trail set in the 'Mammoth Cave National Park' it's off the beaten track and is not easily accessible. After texting her brother of her new adventure, ensuring she had her location beacon on hand she was all set for her new adventure.

It's when she stumbles across a mansion covered in vines that her story takes a dark turn as the lone inhabitant takes her captive.

A game of cat and mouse ensues as our captive strives to outwit her captive time and time again. My heart raced, my palms got sweaty, the push and pull played havoc on my heart, now I'm left in limbo eagerly awaiting book#2!!

HOLLY MOLLY! Another dark and surprising masterpiece by Pepper Winters - It has everything you could hope for in a dark romance. 💚🙏

This story was like a fairy tale that went wrong - The Beauty and The Beast meets Goldilocks and The Three Bears, With a hero who seems evil, but is actually a tortured man who hides lots of layers and a strong heroine who is not afraid of him. 💪

📚 "𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰."
"𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞." 📚

This book took me by storm - emotionally, raw, twisted, and sexy with off the charts chemistry... There are so many things I want to say about this book, but I don't want to give any spoilers so... just read it! 🍁

📚 "𝐇𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐬." 📚

I can not wait to find out how their story will end - in fact, I'm DYING to read the second book! 💚

A five stars read and more... SO MUCH MORE! 👏💥👑

BEAUTIFULLY SAVAGE AND SAVAGELY BEAUTIFUL

“The day I was born, a curse was put upon me.” ~~ Kas
"I was blessed … in everything but love.” ~~ Gemma

Fable of Happiness is the fairytale to end all fairytales
-- the one that rewrites the genre and forever changes our perception of good and evil, heroes and villains, love and hate. It’s a Beauty & the Beast tale beyond comprehension – the paradise of a hidden valley, the terrors of an evil house of horrors, the ugliness that resides inside, and the broken man who elevates above it. This is a perfectly imperfect love story of two people on different paths, from different worlds, with a common purpose. Happiness. How long before one finds the happiness they deserve?

Scarred and enigmatic Kas
is a man alone in an isolation of his choosing, haunted by an horrific past, and in denial about repressed memories. Bound to a life of solitude in a valley mansion called Fables and fit for a king with the single occupant dressed in rags. This haunting fable is one of so much loss, cruelty, and inhumanity, but also survival and revival where darkness and light reside and hope for happiness is but a shadow. Into Kas’s ordered world stumbles a trespasser -- Gemma. A woman unlike any he has ever known. Suddenly his seclusion is exposed as he’s drawn to and reviled by her very presence. One is the captor and the other the captive, but which is which? How long before something snaps?

Fables is a fantastically enticing paradox – a hidden contradiction within a contradiction. The serenity of the lovely and wild valley drew me in, along with the marvels of the palatial mansion – only to be slapped with the hidden ugliness at its core. The vile secrets that it holds and the torment that its occupant cannot escape, even a decade later in a mysterious life of solitude. This is an ultimately dark and sexually mesmerizing mystery. So much pain, repression, shock, and loss of hope before this solitary world is turned on its head by a single intruder. Emotions spike and keep compounding in the most fascinating ways. The sexual abandon and push and pull of the turbulent MCs had me on trigger’s edge. The violently erotic sex was cataclysmic. Hotter than hell with uncontrollable passion and lust that built with each encounter -- a commanding, unadulterated lust and violence-tinged passion that is uniquely theirs.

Kas’s past will astound, his courage will inspire, Gemma’s spirit will beguile. Their selflessness is incendiary. How fragile the dance between them is, how easily the link is broken. The denial, the defense mechanisms, the incredible escalating lust, mutual attraction, and sexual perfection … of two hardened hearts. Their emotions are so masterfully written -- every little gesture, nuance, and hidden or transparent feeling was raw, passionate, and manically intense.

Ingenious revelations
dwell in very dark places in this sublime tale of impossible love that is beautifully savage and savagely beautiful. A couple so different and yet soul-linked. They ache for each other, yet resist. The beastly lover brings out a passionate violence deep within Gemma. Embrace the crazy of their compatibility and connection, so subliminal yet crystal clear. Desires and hatred become a whirling emotional force that’s explosively unforgettable. The escalating fight in them and denial of their truths, the ebb and flow of trust, battle of wills and dark secrets were hypnotic.

There are stories that go to places of wonder and creativity, and authors who transcend the ordinariness of our bookish lives. This is Pepper Winters at her absolute, spellbinding finest, letting her brilliant mind fly free in a tortured romance that eclipses obstacles, cruelty, and inhumanity. Move over Q, Jet, and Ren … for Kas. The violently erotic and combustible tale is an inventive twist on Beauty & the Beast, coupled with a deviant and sexualized Oliver Twist. Never doubt that there’s a moral and a message drenched in atmosphere and secrets that want desperately to remain hidden, but slip through the cracks of two people uncertain how to interact. She’s an intruder, and he’s … impossibly intractable.

Gemma’s unwavering strength irritates and stokes curiosity about the history of Fables and Kas’s secret past. The turbulent mystery of what took place in this now-silenced mansion where Kas remains too busy hiding from the truth until Gemma’s unwavering strength drags him into the light all wrapped up in an inconceivable romance. Their contest of wills never waivers. Neither concedes, and it escalates and escalates and escalates to the final moments of a cliffy ending that ripped out my heart. My heart stopped dead and I bawled like a baby.

Kas is pure alpha savagery
– hardened to vicious cruelty with restraint, yet the vulnerability of a young boy, the heart and soul of a warrior, and the passion of a true lover. God, my heart broke. But, Gemma is a heady match for Kas. Tough, strong, resilient with survival skills. She won’t be mastered – always thinking and sussing out her predicament. The riveting story had me tied up in knots. It’s thoroughly unpredictable to the brink of madness. Violence in their passion, and passion in their violence. Nothing I assumed or guessed before the bottom totally drops out …

“The way he watched me was borderline worship … like I was his for the rest of my life and that I was the ruler for the rest of his.”

Nobody does dark captive romance like Pepper Winters!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💛🖤💜💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 🫣🤭🫠😮🥰

The heroine: Gemma - a rock climber who found success on social media. She has over 3 million followers and is a self made millionaire. She likes to go to out of the way places and film herself free climbing difficult rocks, mountains and cliffs. She gained popularity after free climbing a moss covered waterfall cliff.

The Hero: Kassen - He lives in a hidden and camouflaged mansion in a forgotten forest in Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, and has been cursed since birth. He has spent his life alone and likes it that way. He reads everything in the library at his home, and goes for long runs to release pent up energy.

The Story: Gemma hears about a huge boulder that nobody has ever climbed which was found by some hikers and posted on social media. She wants to be the first to climb it and record her climb. So she drives to Mammoth Cave National Park and goes deep into the forest off the beaten path where she comes across a hidden mansion that looked abandoned. She decides to check it out. She can’t believe the splendor on the inside which was so incongruous to the dilapidated looking exterior.

The book was told in dual points of view and narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. I think this is the first time I have listened to Charley Ongel, but she has a clear intelligent sounding voice and her reading had terrific inflection and cadence. Tor Thom has a super deep voice and almost sounds a bit fantastical which is perfect for a “beast” like character which Kassen certainly is. And I really enjoyed Tor Thom’s strikingly sinister intonation for Kassan’s inner voice. I also loved the fact that the narrators voiced their own parts in every chapter no matter whose POV it was, so I didn’t have to listen to the male doing the female voice and vice versa.

I just love Pepper Winters captive romance. I have read more than a few of her books in the past and loved them all. I also have bought a some more of her series and plan to read them as well. I sort of have to be in the mood for a captive romance, since they are a bit grating on my nerves at time (in good ways), because they get my mind working since I get so frustrated with the men in them until they finally fall in love and see the light.

What frustrates me but also what I like about them is the fact that they think keeping a woman against her will is ok. Not to mention the idea of force and Stockholm Syndrome. I find myself wanting to say or do certain things if I was in the heroine’s place. Though that is what is so good about these books as well and Pepper Winters is so good at making me feel so many emotions about the story.

This one also had the mystery of the Kassen’s “curse”, his mansion, his past and his scars, which he gives glimpses of from time to time. I will be moving on right away to the next two books for sure.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

I am convinced that a more fitting title for this book would have been Fable of Hap-penis .

Let me just preface this by saying that this is a really messy and bad review, my thoughts are all over the place, BECAUSE I AM ANGRY. SO ANGRY.

It’s heartbreaking to give a book written by your favorite author 1 star. I read the Indebted series by PW almost 4 years ago and absolutely admired it. Her writing style really resonated with me. I found her work to be dark, brutally sensual and unlike anything I’d ever read. I instantly fell in love, to the point where I’d write ‘I love Pepper Winters’ on the back of my sketchbooks. That love only grew when I read her Pennies series. I was still in awe of her when I read The Ribbon Duet. But that admiration started to dwindle with every new book she released because I realized they all were, more or less, a replica of her previous works. All her books followed the same pattern. A h with no sense of self-preservation, a sexually frustrated H, a h who believes she could upend the H’s world by having sex with him. A H who’s traumatized by his past and thinks copulating with the h would be the reason for his damnation. And so on.

I believe her lyrical writing outweighed her dull and bland stories. I willfully overlooked her repetitive story lines but no more. My goodness! No more. This book was the last straw and even PW’s bewitching writing style couldn’t redeem this book for me. Because what an absolute shitshow this book was.

TW: this is not your normal love story, be warned. It is dark, brutal, heart wrenchingly painful. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a love story between Gemma and Kassen’s penis.

“My cock had an unwavering obsession with her. It wanted to be inside her more than it wanted food.”

What kind of food does a man feed his cock? Asking for a friend.

I get that Kassen’s suffered sexual abuse and trauma in his past that made him despise the grotesque thing, but if he’s had to endure the pain of constantly having a boner for the past 11 years and not being able to masturbate why didn’t he castrate himself? Surely it would have been less painful than suffering a raging hard on 24/7.

“She’d made me angry enough, lust-fogged enough to grab that grotesque thing between my legs and touch it.”

I can stomach and overlook a lot of questionable things in a book but a man running naked in the wilderness is not one of them. It is just too abhorrent. It just brings to mind a really unappetizing picture, and I personally think that a mans body is really uncomfortable to look at in all its naked glory, no matter how muscled and ripped the man is. It just feels...wrong. How can he expect to be feared with that grotesque thing hanging between his legs. He needs to have some pants on for him to be truly intimidating, lol. Which is why I felt no connection or compassion for Kassen. The man detested clothes, I guess because clothes would have been too uncomfortable for his perpetual hard on.

Gemma: Breathes
Kassen:

All the heroines in PW’s book believe themselves to be really perspicacious and perceptive but in reality they are just pretentious. I mean how perceptive could you be if you trespass into a clearly lived-in mansion, camouflaged by nature, in the middle of nowhere, with the intention of just having a chat with the occupants? Self-preservation? Pfft, Gemma is clearly not familiar with the term!

“Hello? Is anyone up there? My name’s Gem, and I would really love to chat.”

Hello? Is anyone up there? My name’s Stupid, and I would really like to be murdered.”

There’s a fine line between bravery and stupidity and she just crossed that line with the agility of a panther. Suffice it to say, I didn’t find it surprising at all when she found herself incarcerated by a barbarian man, who had no qualms about degrading, strangling and physically hurting her. So much for just wanting to have an innocuous chat, smh.

“MY EYES COULDN’T GET used to the harsh brightness of the screaming light bulb above me. White haze danced over my sight, obscuring the barren cell that I’d woken in.
I didn’t know how long I’d been locked in the dark, but it’d been long enough to have to use the bucket I’d found in the corner and drink out of the tap like some trapped animal.”

I positively hated Gemma. Hated her. She was so obtuse. So full of herself. SO ANNOYING!

”Why? I have no intention of calling you Gemma.”

“Ah-ha!” Her eyebrows shot up. “So...you were listening.” She softened, her hair dancing over her dirty shoulder. “Gem. Call me Gem and—”

“I told you. I don’t care what your name is.”

She gritted her jaw and balled her hands, another dose of fire appearing on her gorgeous face. “You will care. I’ll make you care.”

Uh, miss girl, he’s strangled you, locked you up in a cellar, debased you by making you pee in a bucket, destroyed your only hope of ever making it out of the cellar alive, and your main concern is to make him care?

Does she not have any dignity, you might wonder. Oh she does. Our sweet Gemma does have dignity, despite overwhelming evidence against it. Her dignity decided to make an appearance when she was made to use the toilet with Kassen present.

“My stomach cramped, and I dropped my arms to hug there instead of my chest. “What do I have to do to convince you to leave? What if I promise to come get you the moment I’m done? Then I’ll let you watch me shower. Then you can touch me, command me, use me in any position you want...all you have to do is let me have a few moments alone.”

Wait. Wait. WAIT. This is NOT dignity. Or is it? Anyway, watch her have a mental breakdown because Kassen refused to let her use the toilet in private.

“A few escaped, sliding down my cheeks.

I swiped at them but couldn’t stop the many droplets following swift behind.

All I wanted to do was use the toilet.”

Sis had me believing she wasn’t potty trained, what with all that crying and sobbing. But, unfortunately, she was. Poor girl just wanted to take a dump...in peace. I would’ve loved to see her shit her pants... that shit (pun intended) would have made Kassen hard, I bet.

I must admit this was a new low for PW. What possessed her to write such a explicitly disturbing (lol) scene? I honestly don’t know. But this scene ensured I’d never look at Gemma or PW the same way again.

Dear Pepper Winters, please know that prolonging the sexual tension between the characters is really annoying, not to mention unnecessary. And a pretentious h that thinks she could fix the H who’s suffered insurmountable trauma in his past by offering him her body makes her shallow and superficial not smart and thoughtful.

“Up till now, I’d dabbled with the idea that I could get him to like me. That the way he watched me meant there was a feeling, breathing male beneath all the coldness. I’d had hopes that by giving him my body, he might give me something greater in return.

He had that capacity inside him.

I’ve seen it.”

The only thing he can give you in return is his dick and from what I have heard it is BIG.

“Please...whatever your name is. Please, don’t do this.” God, why hadn’t I pushed for his name? Why didn’t I try harder to connect with him? He needed connection. He needed something.

He needs help.”

Nah, sweetie, he doesn’t need connection. He needs to be castrated. Simple.

I hate how every h in PW’s books forces the H to acknowledge their oh-so-bristling connection. It feels so contrived.

“Where he finally gave in to accepting something existed between us. Something neither of us was looking for nor wanted, but something that couldn’t be denied.”

“And I suggest you open your damn eyes. There’s something more between us. We both know it. We both don’t want it. We both wish it didn’t exist, and neither one of us understands how it happened, considering we would rather kill each other than be kind. You need to let me go. You need to admit the real reason you can’t is because you’re starting to feel something.” Her cheeks blazed, and her nipples pebbled as her skin puckered with goosebumps.”

Here is an example of yet another h in PW’s book forcing herself onto the H.

“I’d just signed my own bill of sale by going behind his back and forcing a connection when he didn’t want one.” —Third a kiss.

You see what I’m talking about? Do you see a pattern?

This has been the worst read of my year so far. I regret ever picking it up. I could have done without reading about Kassen's massive twitching cock. This book has scarred me, emotionally and physically.
And that ending? He was freaking horny while falling to his death? Really? I hope his penis accidentally gets caught in a branch and falls off on his way down. Both for his sake and Ours.

Feral and unapologetic, the sexual chemistry is a chokehold you don't want to escape. This book throws you off a cliff with your heart kicking and your insides on FIRE! It's so wrong in all the right ways.

And it's FREE!

80% of this book was this guy being horny, walking around with an erection just by looking at the h.

"My cock had a fucking trance on it. It wanted to bolt to the basement and force the girl to worship it. It wanted to come again and again."

"Would she be cold?
Down there in puddles and stone?
Do I care?
My cock twitched; apparently he cared, even if I didn’t."

"My cock had an unwavering obsession with her. It wanted to be inside her more than it wanted food."

"Her blowjob had granted her another day of living."

"I froze. My cock hardened. My heart sputtered.
Shit."

Yeah shit dude, you have a problem!

That was the whole plot🙄

He was living in isolation for a decade without human touch so dude was like a rocket.

The h was... idk how to describe her, didn't care about her, she goes to freaking nowhere, finds a mansion, goes inside then sees that someone lives in it and she doesn't immediately leave but goes to his bedroom🤦‍♀️ stupid af. She has her phone and GPS tracker with her and instead of hiding them she leaves them in the open for him to smash them.
And then she offers to be his sex slave 🙄

“God, I’m an idiot! I should never have—”
“Trespassed? Yes, my thoughts exactly.”

Ain't it the truth..

I gotta say the flashbacks were horrible and i felt sorry for Kass(the H) but what was different from what he was doing to Gemma(the h)🙄 he held her captive and used her as a sex slave. Hypocritical much? He even slaps her couple of times, who says romance is dead.🙄

Tell me to fuck you.”
“I’m telling you no.
I thrust deep, deep inside her. I let go of all the cages and prisons I’d erected and for a single breath, allowed myself to be free.

Because this wasn't rape✋

"His bare cock thickened, smeared in mud and rain, looking as if we’d both been animals of the woods for far longer than just a night."

They're outside in the rain, arguing and rolling around in the mud NAKED, his penis is covered in filthy mud and in the next ch they are in her car still naked and gross and he starts to fuck her with all those germs and dried up mud🤮

I lost.
I kissed him back.
And.
That.
Was.
It.

She
also likes

Write
Like this.

It ended up on cliffhanger and I just saw that this is book 1 in a trilogy, ha jokes on me🤦‍♀️

⭐️ 5 billions magnificent dark stars ⭐️

Climbing just got sexy. Pepper has the ability to make poetry out of mundane tasks such as the planting of seeds on a patch of land. Her words are pure unadulterated magic, descriptions of places and background becomes alive, you can see and seize every small detail, you are there along with the characters breathing the same space, living the same feelings and emotions.

Every time I pick up a new story by Ms Winters I know her words will slowly kill me, and this was no exception, this story kept me prisoner until the very end, needless to say I came out of this in tatters, begging for more, craving more of Gem and Kas.

I don’t know how she manages to weave such tales, cast those spells, all I know is I want to be jinxed, I will happily hand over my soul for her enthralling writing.

Gemma is an independent young woman, she made a career out of her hobby for climbing, she’s always searching for the next adventure, if only finding a soul mate was as easy as looking for the next impossible to climb boulder. After collecting a series of unsuccessful dates, she accepts to live for her passion, in a determined search for an impossible challenge she sets off for a new adventure. She has no idea what fate has in store for her…

Kassen is as complicated as it gets, broken, rough, broody, destroyed, he lives far away from civilization, his past a burden and a curse, he wants to be hidden, he built up walls both external and internal to keep sordid secrets and unbearable memories hidden and buried. He endured years of solitude and pain, he accepted his sentence, so when an intruder trespasses on his turf there is no other solution than punish whoever dared to disturb his privacy disrupting his plagued life...

I know this story didn’t come easily, there was a lot of writing and rewriting, endless frustration of scrapped material, well, I never mind waiting for a work from this amazing author, the waiting is all worth it, it doesn’t matter how long it took to read this I’m glad I could experience this turmoil of emotions and heartbreak.

Book one ends on a brutal cliffhanger, I can’t wait for book two to be out. I’m also looking forward to reading more of this new decadently dark Fable Universe. My Queen of dark romance never, ever fails to bring me a unique delicious torment and with this sinful dark story she delivers it in spades.

If you still haven’t read anything by this author, and you’re a lover of top notch dark romance with a capital D wait no longer pick this up, hand over your mind, soul and heart in exchange for an amazing experience.

Gemma + Kassen

Kassen's prologue scares us a tiny little bit. LOL.
Then Gemma starts to tell us about herself in chapter one. She's 26 years old, lives in a pretty little lavender-painted house in Michigan and she makes her money being a pretty famous professional climber. The more dangerous or off the beaten path - the more she loves the climb.
That's why she's on her way to Kentucky now - there's a boulder to be climbed - adventures to be had.
But by the very scary or rather mysterious prophecy-ish last lines in the first chapter - we know that she's not getting the adventure she's expecting.
Nope. She'll get Kassen.
And what that will mean for her and for the reader?
We have no idea. Yet. LOL!

READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ... or not yet, since this first love-story in the Fable Series will be a trilogy! But still - READ IT! 🤣😡

Oy!

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading. Even with the slightly scary blurb.
And what did I get? A beautifully written but also very crazy start of an amazing love story. A book that makes me wish I had waited to read it until all three books were out! Grrr.
But here I am - having to wait a little while for the second one.
It won't be too bad next book will be out very soon! (August 3rd!)

I have to admit that prisoner/hostage/slave kind of stories are not my thing. It's all a bit too creepy and rapey for my tastes. But I still loved this.
Poor Kassen. We have no idea what happened to him. Why he lives in this huge mansion. Something horrible must've happened at that place a decade ago.
And Gemma. Happy fun-loving sporty spice. The poor girl.
She just wanted to climb a boulder and now she's the prisoner of this mysterious man.
It's all very crazy and exciting but also very fascinating and erotic and we hope all through the beginning of the story, that we'll get the amazing love story we're hoping for. But it probably won't be happening anytime soon! Book one is still very prisonery - but we do see some sparks and feelings.

I really can't wait to see where Pepper will go with this story.
And also - the other many books in this series! So many books - so many broken people to find their happy end!

FABLE OF HAPPINESS #1 was a great start into this new Fable Universe! A beautiful and very dark 'soon-to-be-love-story'. READ IT!

I chose this one (not because I have two chapters of Criminal Intentions left and I'm avoiding finishing it, no🤥🤥) to distract myself for a bit. I haven't read mf in a long time, it's Pepper Winters, so I said "bring it up"
And... Yikes.
I feel so bad about the ranting I'm going to give it, I know the author worked hard for this one, but my heart says "2-meh stars."

Summary: Gemma finds a house by mistake in the middle of nowhere, so she walks into and checks it up and down because that seems the most reasonable thing to do. She comes across a Kas, a man who hasn't had human contact in years. What happens? Well, Kas takes her prisoner.

In the 300 pages there is no character development. And there are only two.
There is no romance, it's more "every time I see you my dick gets hard." I tried to understand it, after all, the man hadn't seen anyone in decades. But I swear, Kass just looking at her foot makes him hard.
The story stays the same, things repeat themselves. Everything is flat.

I feel like Pepper could have put more stuff in here, instead of leaving it all up to the second. Because she just left... This.
Two people who are 'attracted' without understanding each other for a second.

I can only say two good things: I was hooked, I read it in a few hours.
I find the story about what "Fable" is intriguing and I hope Pepper explores it well.
Oh, and because I got it for free.
So, i'm back with the two chapters left in Criminal intentions. 🥴

OMG The queen of dark romance is back!I missed her writing and this one was fantastic.I didn't know what to expect because I picked this up without reading the synopsis and I'm speechless!

The ending left me wondering what it's going to happen and now I need the second book right now!!It was so good, it's capyivating, mysterious , dark, disturbing in a good way, intense and twisted.I just need more of Kassen and Gemma.

If you are looking for a good dark romance this is exactly what you need!

So.... 🤯🤯🤯😭😭😭💔💔💔

I didn't know what to expect from this story because Pepper Winters always surprise me. And she did it again!!

Fable of Happiness is really the start of something huge!!!

The story is FERAL, RAW, BRUTAL, INTENSE, but also FRUSTRATING and HEARTBREAKING

Gemma is an indipendent successful strong-willed woman who craves adventures and adrenaline. But she is also lonely.

Kassen is a broken man, who hid for years from the world. He is more a beast than man at this point, but loneliness is important to him: it's the only way to keep him safe and sane.

When Gemma trespass his property, Kassen is torn between wanting to kill her or keep her.

The connection, the electricity between the two of them is something strange, almost magical. They can't deny it, but they can't accept it either.

Honestly the back and forth between Gem and Kas is damn frustrating, but it makes sense given their situation.
Their relationship couldn't be different.
And i loved it, because it's unique, it's special.

Gem and Kas' story itself is amazing, but what makes it even more great it's the background story (Kassen' past) that gonna link all the book in the series.
In this first book we have only few glimpses of it but they were enough to make my heart ache for Kas.
He has so many scars, not only physically, and trust issues yet he wants to be loved, but he doesn't really know how...
And gosh i just wanted to hug him tight and never let him go 💔💔

The cliffhanger at the end left me crying, and i can't wait for the second book because i need answers!!!

As always what amazed me about Ms Winters work is her ability to create sucha vivid worlds: the moment you start reading one of her books you are no longer in your room but in a cell, or a beautiful island, or a ivy-covered mansion hidden in a valley...
SIMPLY AMAZING!!

Is this my first-ever Pepper Winter’s book? Yes, sorry I am a little late.

Did I fall in love with her writing? Yes.

Did I enjoy the whiplash and enjoy the toxicity? Hell Yes!

The first 40% seemed slow, however, I felt like it needed to be to paint the overall picture. Around 48%, it’s picked up and is fast-paced. I had whiplash with the push/pull. Not complaining. I want that. I require that in a dark and captive trope.

Kas is beautifully broken. Seriously, I am going to lick him and call him mine, to all my book friends who said they love him. I now know why. I love him too. Parts of his backstory we read about are dark and heartbreaking.

I have some predictions about Gemma. I am still on the fence with her. Right now, I am just impartial. I will say she is highly intelligent and can read people. I feel like she has a dark past hidden deep down.

On my dark scale, I will say read your trigger warnings. I hardly read flowers, rainbows, and unicorns. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It’s gray or dark gray.

Now I need to go start book two. Thank you to everyone who recommended this trilogy to me.

**BETA Review**
Y'all....I am DEAD...dead I tell you.
Pepper has done the damn thing AGAIN! I learned long long LONG ago that Pepper will be hard-pressed to disappoint me with anything she puts out. She has long long LONG been a sight unseen, no blurb, no title, one click author for me.

Fable of Happiness...is AMAZING! I very nearly want to equate this to a somewhat Beauty and the Beast-esque story.
It has changed...COMPLETELY...from the original plan, train of thought, characters, etc (so if you're thinking it is what it was the summer of 2020...it's not that anymore). But what it has changed to is FAB-U-LOUS!

Kas and Gemma are spectacularly written.
Kas is such an enigma that you barely begin to really scratch the surface of who he is and what he has endured and how he came to be the man he is now. He has such a haunting past that you just want to comfort him, but if you're going to, you better watch your neck (quite literally). He's dark, dangerous, and intriguing which makes for a sexy as hell lethal man.
And Gemma...highly successful and driven, essentially "lacking" in only one area in her life. She makes the grave mistake of entering Kas's home. She becomes Kas's prisoner. And as she starts to uncover the man underneath the beast, she can't resist the pull of his magnetism.

Pepper is dark romance queen, and she does not let us down with Fable of Happiness.
If you haven't heard yet, Fable of Happiness end on a cliffhanger (actual length will be detailed SOON)!
But the Fable WORLD is going to be HUGE!!! I'm totally stoked!
Beware of potentially triggering elements...it is a dark romance after all =)

"Curiosity kills the cat..." this idiom fits Gemma's situation to apt.
Gemma has everything one could desire from life, success, a job she actually enjoys, health...everything but love.
Due to some turn of events, She finds herself trespassing a secluded mansion in the middle of nowhere and becoming a Captive of a wild hermit man who has many skeletons in his closet.
Kassen is a man with many layers...living alone for 11 years have made him hate human kind with passion. But He can't keep his eyes away from his little intruder...He wanted to steal everything from her but what he didn't fathom was her stealing his heart.

"𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒘, 𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒓."

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄:
Oh my God!!! Pepper Winter's did it again...another dark World which I can't get enough of...

Kassen and Gemma's story is so unique like I have never read something like this in my life...Kas is a man with complexity, he is not a "know at one glance" guy...he has layers and as the story proceeds we get a glimpse of every of his broken and battered inside...I felt for him, empathize with him...no doubt he did some bad things but still he was made a monster by the world... his fear and vulnerability made him feel more than just a book character.
If you have read other books by Author Winters...then let me tell you, you will find a little of Q Mercer, Ren and Jethro in Kas...all my favorites!!!

There's a thin line between love and hate...both Kas and Gemma tiptoed around it. I love their chemistry...it was blazing with firestorm even at their first unconventional meeting.
Gemma was a strong character...I love that despite her being a strong she still showed a lot of vulnerability. She was adamant to do anything to survive the situation she was...but she never thought to feel for her Captor...

The story line was amazing, breathtaking and sensational...it was Romance borne in the most unexpected circumstances, a light in the end of a tunnel.

There were some heavy triggers, sexual abuse (not by the hero.), dub con, trauma...but god!! This was the best experience, I regret finishing this book in one sitting...there are  multiple
rereading session for this book in the future.

Now to the last past...Pepper Winters haven't forfeit her crown of "Queen of Cliffhangers" here....there is a massive cliffy in the end, the wait for the next book will be a torture for sure...

This book is my favorite read of 2021, not surprising since I've been Pepper's desperate fangirl since 2018 when I read my first book by her.three years later and here I am still saying this woman is unable to write a bad or even average story. I had the same eagerness when I had with Indebted series when I was reading this one but let me tell you every book of hers offers a whole different experience. If I had to compare it to her other works I'd say Fable of Happiness has sort of the same dark theme as Indebted, the same gut-wrenching emotional ride as The Ribbon duet, and the same drama-fueled twists and turns as Monster In The Dark while being completely different in every aspect.I know it sounds confusing but once you read this brilliant work of art you'll know what I'm talking about.
Kassen is not your average romance hero, hell none of Pepper's heroes are (with the exception of my Ren, you're different baby). He's dark and twisted in a way that would make anyone who hasn't explored the dark romance genre immediately uncomfortable. He's been living alone for the last 11 years with no contact with another human being so just imagine how he feels when he finds a clueless woman wondeong around in his big mansion in the woods. Alarmed by the presence of a stranger invading his privacy, Kas reacts with his first instinct.Which is to imprison her and kill her as soon as possible.
Gemma is just like Kas. not your average romance heroine. She's a single twenty-six years old rock climber living alone and exploring the woods and mountains to find virginal areas to climb. She has no idea what's waiting for her when she finds herself in an empty mansion in the middle of the woods. What follows next happns to be her worst and somehow most delicious and frightening nightmare leading by a man who wants to kill her for daring to enter his home uninvited. But Gemma knows how to play. She might be a little lamb caught in the web of a monster far greater than she'd ever imagined but she has something Kas can't refuse after more than a decade of celibacy. The promise of a warm body...
I thought about finishing my review right there like the book left me with a cliffhanger (Still love you Pepper even with your infamous cliffhangers. you evil, wickedly smart woman) but I'll generously write more about the history of Fable Kids and the sex scenes without giving away spoilers.
So the sex scenes...dirty,wrong,raw and god so deliciously hot! The things Kassen makes Gemma do should have scared me away but I found myself turning pages without even blinking.Be cautious not to read this book in public!
And about the Fable Kids. I'll just tell you this, prepare yourself for the worst.Pepper has confirmed books for all of them and given us their names and the reading order.Thses are all broken mysterious characters and I can't wait to read every single one of their POVs.

The only thing this story accomplished was making me 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Let's start this review by giving this book an alternative title shall we. Ladies, Gentlemen and Non-binary let me present to you “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐎𝐧.”
You know this week is probably the worst week of my life, book wise that is. I've read 3 average, mediocre, boring books in a row and each time the thread holding me from descending into complete madness got thinner and thinner.
This 4th book, which i thought was gonna be my road to salvation snapped the remaining thread of my sanity so fast, the recoil gave me more than just whiplash. I have used the term Dumpster Fire before to best describe how i felt about a book but here it won't do. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫.

]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[
Kassen was a 𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞. The woman would walk and he got hard, she would eat and he got hard, she would breathe and he got hard. Gemma would simply exist and you guessed it, 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝.
Well i suppose 11 years of isolation and blue balls will do that to anyone... but still get a grip. No wonder he preferred running naked in the woods, can you imagine having your hard on pressed against the zipper of your pants 24/7. No thank you.
I have never read a character talking about his d*ck as much as Kassen did in this book. If I didn't know any better 𝐢 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝*𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 and this was a love triangle. This entire book was about Kassen giving his penis everything it wanted after despising and denying it for the past 11 years and using the girl with zero self-respect to do it. His d*ck was the one that was obsessed by Gemma, who cared if she was wold, hungry or turned on not Kassen.
It honestly felt like he was just a vessel here to give his d*ck what it desired.

⋘•⋙---------•⪼⪻•---------⋘•⋙
But you can't give me a 𝐌𝐂 with a dark, twisted, horrifying past, then make him do exactly the same to someone else and expect me to feel sorry for him. 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐜𝐡.
I can understand being cold, angry, broken, unhinged and disrespectful but that was not what he was. Someone who had their choices taken from them, their body used over and over again would have never done that to another human being. Keeping her prisoner is one thing, cause he wanted to know how she found him. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝, resulted with me telling him to go Fu#k himself and not feeling one iota of compassion for his past trauma. Even if that woman deserved to get eaten by a bear and thrown off a cliff.

]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[
Gemma was described as smart, capable, organized and skilled. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐅𝐮#𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐨𝐤𝐞. Well i guess all of that common sense and skills left her body when she entered those woods, cause I didn't read a single line where she wasn't a complete stupid, idiot, moron and a waste of breath.
Who knows maybe there is some Supernatural sh*t happening there that we don't know about. Like some voodoo marking that warns you “Beware she who enters these woods will lose all sense of self and will have the biggest case of betraying body syndrome. Like Achilles heel, when the man beast who inhabit these lands looks at her or touches her she will get horny” That dumb B*tch deserved to get kidnapped.

The woman had 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭, she was so goddamn pretentious, full of herself and beyond annoying, not to mention she had no dignity at all. 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥.
The way she kept offering her body like it was an actual valid way to make him care and not kill her, was turning me into a raging ball of a bitter anger. The entire concept is stupid but here it was just wrong and in poor taste. Kassen is a victim of abuse with so much 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞 about anything sexual and she kept pushing and pushing her body at him without a care about his trauma.
She was literally trying to force a connection cause she wouldn't- couldn't accept that the guy only wanted to Fu#k her to get rid of his blue balls and indulge his penis. Not because he was falling in love with her and was in denial. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐮𝐩, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫.

Get ready to be corrupted in a story like no other. It’s an intense, nail biting ride that will twist your stomach into knots with its torturous command of a hero that I’m utterly in awe with and the ferocity and strength of this remarkable heroine that will leave you reverted.

Your body will burn and your mind will want to wake up from a nightmare you won’t see coming, and your poor heart will want to erase the cruel deception that will transpire from the pages.

I mean I just can’t tell you enough without spoiling this fable...

Is this happiness ... you will have to wait and see.
