What a delightful, twisty thriller! I was immediately drawn into the story, and nothing could tear me away from listening to the story as it unfolded. I loved it all; The characters, the intricate plot and the writing style that was refreshing and sometimes darkly humorous. The main character’s family was so lovely, and it made me care about what would happen next. And the ending; brilliant! It felt like I’ve finally read something new, with a surprising ending that will be remembered.

How can a book starts so well (it was heartbreaking!) and become a reading torture?
The writing was very repetitive, the dialogues were very weak and the main character was too paranoid (although there was a (predictable) plausible explanation for it.
I know that I didn’t have to go through it, but I did not want to loose hope.
I was waiting for that redemption point.
After the opening the time jumps to 20 years later.
And the conclusion?
Goodness.
It’s the worst revenge story ever.
I’m flabbergasted! And not in a good way.
Sorry if I can’t hide my disappointment.
I hate being so negative about someone’s work.
This one was clearly not for me.
At least it was a fast read, but because there are only 254 pages (on paperback) and 62!!! chapters.

The book is all about fault, blame, lies, secrets and the past racing up to you, tapping you on the shoulder and making itself known, and changing everything
It is also about convincing yourself of a truth even maybe when it isen’t
The idea of the story is original, and even more so as it goes on and things that happen that may seem to the reader as unbelievable suddenly make sense as the crux of it all becomes clear ( without giving too much away )
The characters range from unassuming to despicable 😎
I did like the idea of the story, am not sure it flowed 100% at all times as it could have done but as a debut it is a great start on the authors story telling journey

Grace has conflicted feelings. Her youngest child, a son, is just about to start going to school for the first time. While she's happy in one respect, she's already missing him and wanting to keep him home.

As her husband is working on writing a novel, Grace feels it's time for her to go back to work ..st least part time and give her husband the break from work that he needs and wants.

As luck will have it, the perfect job seems to fall in place and she can't believe how lucky she is. It's part-time so she can spend time with her children, and the pay is good enough that her husband can quit his job and concentrate on his writing.

But she's soon having second thoughts about the job. The work is okay, even though it's more like busy work that anything else. The other employees seem to be under the impression that she's done something to get this job. And she feels that someone is following her.

When Grace was a young teenager, her younger sister was killed in a hit and run accident. She has always felt guilt and believed her parents always blamed her. Her grandmother had schizophrenia and eventually took her own life.

Grace is afraid that she may be having a mental breakdown..... she can't sleep, she can't eat, she feels angry all the time, and now she's having hallucinations concerning her sister. Has she inherited the schizophrenia gene, is she just being paranoid ... or is it just anxiety ,,, or something else?

Her life has become a perfect nightmare ... and she's running out of places to hide. Madness ... deceit ... betrayal .. lies ... secrets ... there's a lot going on in this well-written intricate plot. The characters are solidly drawn. Suspense starts on the very first page and leads to an explosive .. totally unexpected conclusion.

Many thanks to the author / Bloodhound Books for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This is a great debut novel.
I loved the way we get an insight into Grace’s thoughts as things around her started to change.
Grace is offered a job which she feels is too good to be true but with both her children now at school, the time feels right.
Grace is hiding a secret from her family and it eats away at her, day by day.
Things start happening in her life and she wonders if she’s going mad, but with the lack of sleep Grace is questioning everything.
I loved the way Grace confronted things and the ending was a great touch.
I look forward to reading more of Nathan’s books.
Thanks to the author for the ARC of this book.

A fast paced, well written thriller.

I really enjoyed this book. The author gradually and skilfully introduced me to Grace and her family and as he did, revealed their troubled personalities and a dysfunctional element that had been rumbling on for years.
The unravelling of Grace was so well described I could feel her anxiety. I also felt the Benny’s pain and as much as I didn’t want to, felt sympathy for Mother.
The authors voice is very clear in this story and I can tell from his style and intelligent wordplay that he connects with his characters and their struggles, observing human behaviour, passing what he sees on to the reader.
This is a debut, so I am now very much looking forward to his next offering. I think you will too. Well done Mr Moss.

My feelings for this psychological thriller are conflicted as I write this review because it is a book I managed to finish but the last few chapters, I was like seriously all this because of some tiny thing that happened twenty years ago when you were teenagers, it was overkill. The book started well when Grace and her little sister Hope are outside riding their bikes when Hope is hit by a car and the car speeds off. Hope dies and then the book jumps to modern times where we learn after this incident that Grace had a hard life growing up and was forgotten about and her relationship with her parents strained as she believes that the wrong daughter was killed. We also learn that there are Mental Health issues that run in Grace's family as her Grandmother killed herself due to schizophrenia. In the present time, Grace's youngest Russ has just started school and she has ventured back out into the workforce and gets a job as a PA for a guy named Clive. Things are going great for her job, so much that her husband can finally quit the job he hates and starts writing full-time, and then he gets a publishing contract and life seems to be steadily going on the upwards for them both. That is until strange things start happening for Grace and she wonders if she is inheriting her grandmother's mental illness or is she being gaslighted to think she is crazy as things about Hope and her death are suddenly being brought into the present. The book then reaches the OMG moment and we see the twist and I have to say seriously WTF and for me, this was where the book went downhill faster than Hope did and crashed and burned like she did as we come face to face with the most complex gaslighting experience ever that felt so very much OTT and unnecessary for something that happened twenty freaking years ago. It's endings like this that ruin thrillers for me as you have a great build-up and then a massive letdown. If you like thrillers and need something to read then you can check it out but it's not something I would rush out and read due to the ending.

So this one had me going...

First I thought:
Another one of those boring, on-going psycho stories of someone that think they are crazy...

But then the story switched, and maybe not everyone that that thinks they are crazy, really is ?

This book kept me on my toes...

I was intrigued by the blurb of this book. A slow burner from the start, but getting to know Grace set the scene. I'm not sure I liked Grace but that wasn't a problem. The revelations as the plot unfurled were surprising.

I was happy to be offered to read an ARC of this book, I'm always glad to find new Authors and Nathan definitely didn't disappoint with this one. If it wasn't for work getting in the way I would have finished it in one sitting as you just want to know what happens next. I love a book that keeps you guessing and has a twist, and this one has both. Five stars from me and am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!

Wow! This is some debut novel!

The story was well-written and kept the suspense and mystery going all the way through. The twist was something I didn’t see coming, and I love how it was all tied up so nicely, with a lovely ending that means we might get a follow up book.

I was able to empathise with the grief and madness that was felt, and I enjoyed this book from the very first page.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed their book from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from them in the future. This is a suspenseful story that is faster paced and full of action. It is a well written story that has characters that are relateable and truly made the story for me. This is a story about Grace and a new job that she gets but things may not be all that it is cracked up to be. She feels that she is being followed and this is where the story really picks up and Grace feels like she is going crazy. She made such a great character and made the story entertaining to read. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. I am glad I picked up this book and so will you. I highly recommend this book.

DNF - 22%

I just could not get into this one. I tried but I found it so dull and the beginning of a book is supposed to grip you - especially a gripping thriller - and this was anything but. I don't mind children in books but the first couple of pages are just full of the mc's children, you'd think she was a single mother, plus the whole past thing with her sister dying, yeah I get it you feel guilty but my goodness it's mentioned on like every page and its just so goddammed boring. I stopped and started this book many times but could not get past 22%.

The start of this book is slow burn.  It gives a lot of wonderful little gems as it shows you about the characters.  While I generally like a faster burn however this just had something to it that made it very interesting.

I enjoy but it didn't feel like the standard from the genre but instead it felt more like contemporary writing.  This was within the first half.  I think it showcases the wonderful writing talents of his author.

Once the story starts to unfold you really start feeling overly emotional as you can see that something bad had happened.  You also can see some aspects of psychology rearing its head especially where the main character is involved.  She seems surpressed and really trying to hide what happened.

I will admit that Grace put me off quite a bit.  I felt that she wasn't a person I would want to deal with.

Benny was am interesting character though he wasn't a person I would want to really have as a friend as he seems like the needy person.

Now for how this book made me feel.  I felt relied when it as over in all honesty. Not that it wasn't a good book I loved it so much.  I was upset with the main characters thinking about how selfish they were.  It isn't a bad feeling especially as any book that makes you feel strongly is powerful.

I hated the main characters and while usually I have to like characters in this case the story outweighed the horrific characters.

The author really captured the badness in the individuals as well as pushing through the story.  I loved seeing the story unfold as you didn't really know what to expect.  I think seeing the story unfold was what made this book so amazing.

Grace, aged 13, was supposed to be keeping an eye on her younger sister Hope but the child raced away from her in the pouring rain downhill on her bike to her death in a hit and run accident. The driver was never caught. Grace has always blamed herself and feels that her parents blame her too.
The story moves on 17 years and still with a strained relationship with her mother, Grace is married to Troy who works in insurance and they have two children, Mia aged 10 and Russ aged 5. Russ is starting school and Grace has her first job interview, a part time PA post that pays very well. The interview didn’t go too well, or so she thought, but she lands the job anyway. It turns out to be a bit strange and she soon finds herself going above and beyond her job description. Is her new boss taking advantage of her need to keep a well paid job by working her all the hours or does he have an ulterior motive? As she becomes more stressed and tired, she starts to worry that she is being followed. Could it be her imagination – after all her grandmother was schizophrenic and killed herself in a horrific manner – or is there another kind of madness at work?
I found Grace hard to like for some reason but it was easy to comprehend her need to please people, and her unravelling was very well portrayed as she descended back into a troubled anxious personality, consumed by her inner demons. The latter half of the book is extremely thrilling as the true horror is revealed, and the pace really cranks up and compliments the slower burn of the first part where the scene is well and truly set for the reader. Very enjoyable. 4*

No stranger to writing, having been a ghostwriter for a number of years, NJ Moss has taken the plunge by going solo and has delivered a smashing and powerful debut with All Your Fault.

I throughly enjoyed this book and found it to be very well written, plotted and executed. NJ Moss really has crafted a compelling tale, which he has put his heart and soul into. it is gripping, intense and gets under your skin. The characters are strong and its outcome was one I didn’t expect. It was different, memorable and a real standout for me as to how ones guilt can consume you.

The opening chapter of the story is harrowing and sets up the rest up well. It does deal with a number of sensitive topics which may be a trigger for some, including mental illness, anxiety and paranoia. These have all been portrayed realistically, sensitively and like NJ Moss, these topics are also very close to my heart.

I have to admit that I was not going to read this book just yet having other reading commitments to get through, but all the amazing feedback I kept reading about this book, had my curiosity piqued and I just had to bump it up the list. I am so glad that I did. Right from the get go I was hooked and couldn’t tear myself away.

NJ Moss is a refreshing new voice in the psychological thriller genre and a natural born storyteller who I am excited to add to my growing list of favourite authors. This is one book that you are definitely going to want to add to your reading for this year that’s for sure!

I was lucky to be given the opportunity to read this book before release, for my honest review.
Nathan James Moss has become a friend recently too which added extra pressure on to both of us...
Him having his friends reading his work and me... what if I didn't like it? What if I thought it was rubbish? How do I give a diplomatic review?!
Thankfully, I don't have to worry about that and neither do you Nathan!

I found the book a slow burner to start, lots of little things happening, building up a back story, teasing with bits of information, enough to keep you biting, and turning the next page, not enough to give the story away.
The characters were great in their own ways, the children were adorable and made me want to reach in and hug them. Hope, i wanted to cry for her.
Grace.. Well she was a complex character, she was annoying but in the way she was supposed to be, she became irrational, paranoid and and also spot on with certain things.
I did not see the twist coming which is always a bonus reading a thriller, my only criticism if I were to give one would be the "action" part and twist could have gone on longer and filled quite a bit more of the book.
I really enjoyed this and I feel privileged to be given the chance to read it. Thank you Nathan 😊 I give it 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are introduced to Grace & immediately find out she had a sister who died in a fatal hit & run accident as a child.

Grace has been a stay at home parent for a number of years & now that her youngest child is about to start school, she starts a new job.

The stress of the change in her life & a shift in family dynamics means that Grace starts to question her reality & we find out that there is a family history of mental illness which makes her an unreliable narrator.

I was getting weary of the book about half way through as I started to find it very repetitive. Grace was repeatedly being asked to do unreasonable & unrealistic tasks at work but didn’t feel she could say anything because of her probationary period.

Then the story took a totally different turn that I hadn’t predicted. This made me pick up my pace, I really wanted to know what was going on. I don’t want to give away too much as I feel it will take away a lot of enjoyment from the story so apologies that this is very vague.

I was surprised with the outcome of the book, it wasn’t what I was expecting & again, I was not quite sure how plausible I felt it was.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really love any of the characters & as a result, didn’t really care what happened to them in the end but I would definitely look for more books by this author in future.

Thank you to Nathan for an ARC of his first book in return for an honest review. I have to say I absolutely loved this book and would definitely like to read more from Nathan. I found I couldn't put the book down and I finished it within two days as the style of writing is such that it draws you in and compels you to read more.
The book begins with teenage Grace and her younger sister Hope out in the rain when Hope decides to ride her bike down a steep hill. A car coming the other way doesn't see her and she is killed; something which then haunts Grace throughout the book as she struggles to deal with what happened and her parents reaction to it. She calls her parents Mother and Father, as she feels that after Hope's death, they blamed her and are not close to her any more.
Grace has her own life with husband Troy and children Mia and Russ. She is offered a highly paid job at a finance firm as a PA and during this time, she begins to question what she sees and what is real or not. She feels anxious which could be down to the numerous cups of coffee she drinks to be able to stay on top of the game but she also has negative thoughts and doubts who she can trust.
There is a great twist at the end that couldn't have been predicted and that keeps you guessing. A brilliant debut novel.

The first published book from this new author and it clearly won’t be the last. A well written and thought out psychological suspense novel which is centred around one event, one split second event, that changed many lives. Full of deep hidden secrets, partially remembered memories and repressed emotions.

Briefly, Grace is happily married with two young children. Her husband is an aspiring author so now her youngest, Russ, is starting school she applies for, and gets a well paid job. However, it turns out not to be the dream job she expected as she is asked to do strange and pointless tasks. Grace begins to worry that she has inherited her grandmothers schizophrenia as her mind keeps returning to the day her sister Hope was killed by a hit and run driver. With her husband leaving his job Grace needs to keep hers. But at what cost? Is she going mad or is it something more sinister?

This is quite a slow burner but there are little hints at what is to come. It’s one of those books you need to keep turning the page to see what’s going to happen next but there is a massive twist at the end. One that is both shocking but almost understandable. I was minded to give this a four score until that twist, which I didn’t see coming, and which was very original. So all in all a great first read and I look forward to the next one and a well earned ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was extremely lucky to receive an ARC copy of this debut novel by NJ Moss . I Genuinely thought the start was really good at explaining the background, but for me, I found it a little slow for a a short while but it still went about fully explaining about what could be an insecure and partly dysfunctional family. About 30% through though when Grace saw/thought she saw someone with a hat waving at her then running away, that’s when I began to have a little niggle that she was going a bit crazy or actually suffering from schizophrenia. From then on in, it started getting a bit more like Grace was maybe on a different planet, so to speak - especially from Grace’s birthday party, things really took hold and I was still leaning to her being ‘crazy’, but I also had a nagging doubt and hoped and believed also that it was someone , perhaps her mother or even her father getting back at her for the past.
It totally caught me by surprise who was causing all her troubles to be honest, as I didn’t see that coming and didn’t see that very ending between Grace and Benny! Genuinely really enjoyed the book , and it was really pretty different - which is a good thing! I really loved the book, and when I got into the nitty gritty of the story, it flowed so well and was a brilliant read .

As debut novels go, Nathan, this was actually pretty damn good!

It hit my Kindle at midnight & I thought I'd read a few pages, but it was soooo compelling I had to keep going....yep, I've just finished it 🤦‍♀️

'𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛?'

Wow, where do I start...it went from slow burning, allowing us to acquaint ourselves with the characters & their back stories, into a fast paced, dark, creepy, edge of your seat psychological thriller with some killer twists thrown in. Throughout I had my suspicions as to who the antagonist was, but turns out I was wrong!

Being someone who struggles with her own mental health, I could totally relate to the anxieties & paranoia that were haunting Grace.

Less skating, more writing...I need to read your next book like now!

Grace lost her little sister to a tragic accident when she was younger & is haunted by this everyday.

Moving forward 18 years, Grace now lives with husband Troy & their two young children Mia & Russ. After being accepted for her dream job at Langdale Consulting, her mind & life slowly start spiralling out of control....is the schizophrenia that took her Grandmother's life hereditary or is she just being paranoid.

Set in Bristol, Grace Addington little sister Hope wasn't suppose to die on her pink bike but she had no chance against a speeding bullet of a car. Her courageous little sister. Grace saw it all happen, the hit and run, it's all my fault, it should have been me instead.
As years go by she marries Troy Dixon and has two children Mia and Russ but the dread always came for Hope's anniversary.
Grace lands herself a job for Langdale Consulting and becomes the bread winner for her little family, but Schizophrenia runs in families and always plays on Grace's mind and plays a big part in this book.
Paranoid is Grace and someone out there is out to get her she can't trust anyone not even family.
I got so many chilly willy's reading this book, with almighty twists that come out that you are not ready for, so fast pace as your reading right to the end that leaves you feeling a contentment and I'm done and happy with that, I will most certainly be looking out for more of this author's work to come , excellent read, well done, with an award of top star's is really something.
I recommend you pick up and read for yourself.
with a good eye catching cover it won't let reader's down.

One to make you think about modern day life and perhaps a little creepy?! Grace has just gone for a new job interview- one she really needs as the family although ok are pushed financially. Her husband is being pressured at work and how much longer it will last they really don’t know. Their son is just starting school with all the trauma of change of routine that it brings. Early on there is just that something about Grace that you can’t quite put your finger on. Years ago Grace was with her little sister Hope when Hope was the victim of a hit and run, something Grace has never really got over and feels guilty about although it wasn't her fault she was there. OMG! I won’t give anything away but there is a part of this I found rather eerie and creepy. Where someone can watch over you more than you realise- whether fact or fiction, it certainly had the desired effect (thanks Nathan!)I liked Grace and felt for her predicament. A story of Hope in more than one way and of the past catching up with the present. A very cleverly thought out concept and very well plotted. Remind me never to leave my phone near Nathan!

I was fortunate enough to get an ARC copy of “All Your Fault” N J Moss, and I am so glad I did, because I had been in a bit of a book slump, and this book jolted me out of it.

The twists and turns in this book are not only in the story, but in the very mind of the protagonist, which made it much more interesting for me.

I felt for Grace, with her unrelenting guilt over the tragic hit and run death of her younger sister Hope, who was in her care at the time. She also had the spectre of a schizophrenic grandmother in her life, making it easy for both her and me to believe she was devolving into paranoia and hallucinations, but there were enough people around her who knew her vulnerabilities to make me hesitate to categorize her as another unreliable narrator, and ask myself whether she was being gaslighted by some manipulative person in her life.

This was so skillfully done I couldn’t be sure, and the ending is absolutely one I wouldn’t have seen coming in a million years. A definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me.

Fabulous debut novel.

All Your Fault is the debut novel by Mr N J Moss. Remember his name because once you have read this book it will leave you with a feeling of emptiness, and you, like me, will be eagerly waiting for his next manuscript to be published.

Unusually for me I did not read any of the blurb for this book, I just went in blind and had to navigate my way around the characters and story. I am so relieved I did it this way because I held no preconceived ideas and I didn’t play any guessing games, I just lost myself in the story of Grace.

This book is like riding a rollercoaster. It starts off slowly, giving me plenty of time to absorb everything around me. It actually lulled me into a false sense of security because suddenly I was suspended in mid-air before being hurtled down the track. Every twist and every turn reverberated through me. The tension and terror held me captive in my seat. But just at that moment when I thought I couldn’t take any more, Mr Moss safely delivered me back to the start.

It is an absolutely adrenaline fuelled 5 star ride!
