From the existence of God and His attributes, to instruction on the right and wrong ways to worship God, MacArthur never strays from teaching and explaining what the Bible says. I reread this book that I read many years ago. It is truly a great book on worship. It is so filled with Scripture that calls us to worship and it shows us how to worship in spirit and in truth. I highly recommend it!

A small book filled with rich lessons to be learned and applied in our life. Written years ago, but still contemporary truth! Two must reads are the first chapter titled: What the World needs now with its description of what worship is and isn't. Last chapter titled: Worship as it was meant to be. It is not about the hows of worshiping in church, but about personal life style of worship!

Glad I read it, but wouldn’t necessarily pick it up to read it again. Great insight and probably not a book to speed read in a few hours like I did!

The best way to sum up this book is Worship as a Way of Life. We think of worship as singing in church, but our entire lives are for the purpose of worshiping God. We should be worshiping God in all circumstances, but we often don't because we don't understand who God really is. If we understood the attributes of God, His sovereignty, His loving-kindness, His Hand of Providence orchestrating our lives, we could truly praise God in every circumstance. We should also worship God by praising Him for the good things He gives us, especially when we want to take credit for them. This is a small book jam packed with insight to living a life of worship by being saved to worship, living with an eternal perspective, praising God in all circumstances, all made possible by knowing who God really is. I highly recommend this book as a study guide to go deep into the bible and meditate on the reality of the God who saved us and the God we serve. This will build your faith and reinforce the doctrines we already believe, but in a fresh way.

This is a great book on worship that I am not sure why it took me so long to read. I will probably have to read it again to decide if I actually agree with everything in the book, but MacArthur did challenge my thinking on some areas and helped to clarify several things. MacArthur made me think, and for that I am thankful.

Lots & lots of underlining...

A very well recommended book for worship! If there is any priority in life, it should be founded in the intention of worshiping God!

I liked the way the author challenges the readers to think about worship as something more than a formal church activity, that we might engage in for an hour or so on a Sunday morning.
