My Oath never dies. I gave it willingly. I served my country with love and honor. When my time with the Navy was over, I came home and started a new journey.
My brothers and I protect and serve our community. We are the men in blue who protect the ones who cannot protect themselves.
Kennedy needs me to be that man for her and be that man I shall be.
Kennedy
I never thought I would be that girl - the one who has lost her way in the world. He did that to me. He took it all away, and now I’m fighting to stay in control of my life.
My will to be me was taken away. Until Max came back into my life. He took a broken, shell of a woman and made her whole again.
Barb is a Carolina girl by right and a Texan by birth. By day, she’s a desk jockey for a rural transportation company and a book lover, reading through as many books as she can. At night, though, she turns into her alter ego: a writer—cape optional, depending on her mood.
Her stories are a mix of real-life events, personal experiences, and the craziness of her own imagination and those of her best friends. And when their imaginations blend together, it can be crazy. Barb writes in multiple genres, encounters new adventures, creates new worlds, and has a fantastic time breathing life into new stories, creating something she hopes inspires anyone who reads to fall in love with them as she has.
Barb lives by one little rule: tomorrow is never guaranteed, so make sure you live each day to its fullest.
I loved the way this one started and how quickly it pulled me into all aspects of the story. This just might be my favorite of the series so far. I loved these characters and the chemistry all around. There was plenty of action and emotion throughout the story as well. It was truly an amazing read.
Flashpoint (Rescue series novella #3) by Barb Shuler

Max and Kennedy's story was a great addition to this series. A story of a broken woman with a past riddled in pain and anguish. Enter Max, a hot and sexy man who sweeps Kennedy off her feet, showing her what real love can look and feel like. She wants to trust in him, knowing he's a good man, but still holds on to her past, not wanting to relive the bad again.
Being an ex SEAL member, Max has a group of swoonworthy pals that are awesome and show they still have each others back, no matter what. When Kennedy's past comes back to stir up trouble, Max and the guys will do anything to keep her safe.
Things don't always go as planned, but that's life, and this story shows the power of love, personal strength, and ultimate friendship. Loved it!
When it comes to me, Kennedy wants nothing to do with them. After the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex she's determined to all men at an arms distance. Well that was the plan until Max came back into her life and made it his mission to prove to her that he is different and would never hurt her in any way. However, Kennedy still has some hang-ups when it comes to her ex and how he treated her. For an alpha male like Max he'll have to learn to toe the line between trying to protect Kennedy in a way without coming across as overbearing and controlling.
While I don't care too much to read about abused heroines/heroes, the ones that I do like I tend to enjoy, especially because the character comes back stronger. During the entire ending conflict with Kennedy, Jenn, and the men in their restaurant Kennedy didn't cower. If anything she tried all that much harder to protect herself and her friend because she had determined she was finally tired of living her life in fear of her ex.
Wow, I mean, Wow! What an amazing addition to the Rescue series. The characters are down to earth, realistic and loveable. The events of the story are all relatable and realistic. The SWAT guys are Hot, funny, serious, Hot, devoted, and loyal... Did I mention HOT. The girls are smart, independent, and badass. They know how to hold their own, and they don't take shit off anybody, even their SWAT guys. I just love all of the characters. Kennedy, Jenn, Max, Hunter, Rooster, Tony, Kelly, and just everyone. I truly can not wait until the author writes more books in this series. What an exciting adventure.

This story like the others in this series are great. Once again the characters Kennedy and Max like the others are realistic. Each story in this series is so easy to fall in love with because the characters are so relatable and down to earth. Plus what woman hasnt fantasized about being rescued from her problems by a handsome man. This series hits the nail on the head.
A sweet story full of sexy alpha males, military suspense and sassy independent woman! I really enjoyed the story it made me smile and laugh along the journey with the characters.
Holy cow what an intense story. Kennedy is an amazing character and her connection with Max is stunning. This story grabs you and doesn't let go. Can't wait to read more by this author.
Hot guys great story. Kennedy is hurt by an ex and isn't looking for anyone. Max is her best friends brother. The story is absorbing and a page turner.
Flashpoint is another adrenaline pumping addition to the rescue series. The story draws you in immediately- a page turner with a great cast of characters that left me breathless.
Another great book in the Rescue series hy Barb Shuler. I loved how alpha Max was and how much he lived Kennedy. Kenney was so hurt after Eric and It was easy for me to relate to her being in the same shoes. I loved how she came back stronger. I also really loved the friendship between Jenn and Kennedy, sisters at heart. Such an amazing novella with lots of action and great characters.
Just wow , I love how in this series the characters are so believable!! Kennedy has a bad past that she can't get past and then she meets Max and he comes in all alpha and shows her just how real love is supposed to be. Then her stupid past tries to cause her problems and Max and his brothers by choice are there to make sure she is safe and loved
