About the author

R.L. (Robin) Dunn resides with her family in a beautiful and artistic community on Long Island, New York. After a twenty-five-year career in Emergency Medical Services as a provider, instructor, and regional faculty, illness changed her life path.

Having always had a love of writing, Robin returned to creating stories. A member of the Long Island Romance Writers since 2018. Her leadership training in the first responder community has served her well in her previous role as Secretary for LIRW and her current role as President.

Her first novel, Blood Obsession, written in her college days came off the shelf and was reworked at a time when she was given just a little chance of survival. Secure Return is the sixth book in R.L. Dunn’s incredible Chase Security Series and I absolutely insist that you should read the stories in order as there is an underlying story line that connects them all and you want to know it, you do not want to pick up Troy and Gwen’s story and go, hmm … I wonder what they are talking about …no sir, no way!
I have read everything R.L. Dunn has written, she has become one of those writers that are an of-course-I-will-read-this as there is something compelling about her stories … She shows us the depth of human depravity while also showing us that there is hope out there and there are people who are the best that the humanity has to offer …
We have been waiting for Troy’s story for such a long time and at times I found myself wondering what else is there to him and his story and then I started the book and … sigh … R.L. simply blew all my expectations out of water! Add to this the complexity and depth of Gwen’s story and we have a masterpiece that does not leave anyone cold … be prepared and have a box of tissues at hand … Thank you for gracing us with stories that make us to stop and think and take stock of who we are and what we can do, how we can be one of the people that can bring hope to the ones in despair … I cannot wait to see what you have in store next!

First time reading a book by R.L. Dunn. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I started reading it and could not put it down. The book I read is Secure Return, it is the sixth book in R.L. Dunn’s incredible Chase Security Series. The author has written such an incredible story, she has become one of the authors that I will definitely reading more of. She has written a story full of emotion that is off the charts, full of cruelty, betrayal,abuse, also honor, love, loyalty, and respect. There were times I needed to grab a tissue. I love the main characters, Troy and Gwen, the author was so amazing on the dialogue and actions that she brought them to life. Highly recommend reading this book as it blew me out of the water. I will be reading the series from the beginning.

Man’s inhumanity to man came to mind as I read this amazing story. Troy has always been a figure behind the veil so to speak and it was great to finally read his story along with Gwen’s. It is a harrowing story and not easy to read sometimes, but it is a compelling read that is hard to put down once started. The attention to detail is incredible and the plot(s) are all too real unfortunately but no less important because of their horrific nature. The story moves between the past and the present and ties them together seamlessly and there are no loose ends. There are some very emotional parts so have a tissue handy.

Secure Return: Chase Security Series book 6 by R L Dunn is a wonderful addition to this series. While I think they are best read in order you can pick it up now and enjoy it from here and then it will make you want to jump in and start from the very first book. It’s got a lot of details you would not expect in the medical field that makes this book seem more real. Great descriptions that can make you see exactly what the author is describing.

This is by far the best book in this series so far, which is saying a lot because I have loved each and every one. The emotional engagement in this story is off the charts. It is full of cruelty, betrayal, abuse, but also repsect, honour , love and loyalty. The balance between these aspects is perfect, and stops it from being overly dark. Troy and Gwen are amazing characters, totally three dimensional and endearing. If I could give more than a 5 star rating, I would.

Wow this book hit a punch! So much pain and suffering both Troy and Gwen had been through. I was rooting for them throughout the book wanting them to have that happy ever after they so deserved. Plenty of suspense in the book which kept me interested. Not too much heat which was understandable and fitted the story. Overall I would recommend this book.

This is the book I’ve been waiting for! I knew that when we got more of Troy’s story, it was going to be emotional. And this story did not disappoint! It literally had everything - love, suspense, heartbreak, laughter. Gwen is the perfect match for Troy and their relationship builds so beautifully! This is by far my favorite book of the series!

Readers beware !!

This series will ruin you for all others. Truly and spectacularly amazing. I’ve been waiting impatiently for Troy’s story and I was not disappointed. I like and appreciate some grittiness in my reads and this has it, along with suspense and too many emotions to name. Thrilled to see Kip is next....so I will again, wait impatiently.

Good read

This book so far has been the most Heartfelt won In the series. Great characters and story lines. This is an intense book . sexual Assault And what has been done to people. So if you cannot handle Stuff like this I would not recommend Reading this book. If you can get through this these are really good books.

I absolutely love this series, but this book was definitely my favorite. The story is so intense that it is/was hard to put it down. Thank you for the resources that are listed. Greece and Witch (Troy and Gwen) are an excellent example of needing each other.

This book has been well written by R L Dunn. It is a strong book dealing with 2 serious issues. If you are a survivor you need to be at a secure part in your healing. Even though it still may cause problems. I like how she brings in people from past stories and how they interact with each. I also like how the author handles victims in the story. She shows that there is more to a relationship than intimacy. She draws people into the story and keeps you there til the end. I enjoy how Troy and Gwen draw their strength from each other. I like how their is support from friends throughout the book. I like how the author ties storylines from previous books and answers what happened to previous people and situations. I look forward to Kip's story. J
