So, apparently I've been sleeping on Dani René. How is this the first book I read of hers? I have no idea but I need more. As we all know, I have a thing for mafia romance. And this being in the Underworld King series I've been devouring, I figured let's take a chance on a new to me author. And now? I'm seriously kicking my own ass for not trying her sooner.
Revenge. Arranged marriage. A dark and ruthless mafia boss. A fierce heroine. All of my very favorite things.
Enzo de Rossi is the Underboss, and the fixer of the family until his parents are brutally murdered and he becomes the boss. He's a man set on revenge at all costs and obsessed with finding out who betrayed his family. Luna is the daughter of his enemy, promised to him in a contract with the hope of uniting the two feuding families. But when Enzo's father is killed, he no longer cares about peace. Luna is simply a pawn in his world, and their marriage a means to an end.
Luna may be young and with an air of innocence, but she's not naive, and she's not blind to the life she grew up in. She knows her future husband hates her and her family and there's nothing to be done for it. She also can't seem to fight her growing attraction and chemistry to the brutal man.
Now this being a dark mafia romance, there is definitely some pretty graphic violence. And truth be told, some of the scenes...I was uncomfy. Dani doesn't spare any details. Enzo is oozing unleashed violence and when he does unleash it on his enemies, well, let's just say it's not pretty.
I loved the ying and yang between him and Luna. He's determined to keep her at arm's length and she's determined to get under his skin. I loved how fierce this woman was. She doesn't shy away from the violence and she isn't afraid to stand up to this man whose mere name instill fear into men. I loved the slow burn. And when they finally give into the inevitable? GAH! I was in praise kink, dominant heaven.
If you're looking for a super dark mafia romance with a ruthless anti hero and a fierce heroine, this one will definitely do it for you.

DARK ROMANCE AND ITS A HOT ONE 😚😚😚🥺🥺 ROMANTIC SAFE LOVE STORY.
WITH HOT OLDER MAFIA BOSS WHO WANTS THE YOUNGER HEROINE. I like it when the hero became obsessed with the heroine even he doesn’t want to admit it🤣 He stalk her 🥺🥺🥺

THE HERO was 30 when his father told him that he have to marry the 15 year old girl soon when she’s 18 years old. Because he have a great relationship with his parents, he agrees. And fast forward to the future three years later, After what happened to their family, he was angry that he have to marry the heroine but he said yes anyway and eventually stalk the heroine and secretly obsessed with her…
“OF COURSE, I’M ANGRY. MY FATHER WANTS ME TO MARRY THE GIRL WHOSE FATHER AND UNCLE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS DEATH. HE MUST HAVE BEEN OUT OF HIS FCKING MIND. BUT I CANNOT REFUSE.”
So at first when can see that both have hate relationship because both didn’t trust each other and have been angry considering their family situation thats been going on, but only for a short time.
Also the hero was a bit frustrated about the whole thing that he still wants the heroine but too afraid that maybe he will want her so badly, like he is afraid to have feelings and to love 😂😂😂
“He’s angry that he wants me. The same way I’m frustrated that I want him.”
The heroine is the first woman who made the hero feel things like feeling love so idk thats just romantic and sweet 😛😛😏

“This girl has affect me in ways no woman ever has.”
The hero is always saying to the heroine and to himself that she’s very beautiful and who doesn’t want to see that 🥺 It made my heart melts every time i see him saying that to the heroine 🥺🥺🥺

When they starting to have a real relationship after both realize they really wanted each other and the pull is strong, things got better between them.

This was a twisted read filled revenge and intrigue. Intense twists woven in with some steamy encounters that will leave you yearning for more.
Enzo was darkness personified. He was a ruthless killer and everyone bowed to him or else.
He wanted nothing more than to bring his father's rivals to their knees, one bullet or knife cut at a time. Enzo's father had plans for him though. His wish was for his son to marry the woman who would one day be the queen to the enemies family. The contract was signed in blood and he would be marrying young and innocent Luna. He will marry her, but that was all he would allow. He would never love or care for her. She was just the means to fulfilling his father's wishes.
Sweet Luna had other plans. She had a backbone and didn't let him get by with anything. She would play his games - until she brought the King to his knees. She would dance her way into his life and hopefully more if he could ever let his cold stone heart thaw. If he could ever look at her as anything other than an enemy.
These two were pure fire! Chemistry was on point. Looking forward to reading more books from this series.

Onward goes my journey into the Underworld Kings. With Twisted Obsession by Dani Rene and this was another new to me author. That is one of the best parts of this Series is that I am getting to taste test quite a few new authors who write in a romance genre I love.
This entry to the series is another arranged/forced marriage. Our heroine is a young dancer who gets traded for revenge to our hero. Before their wedding she must move into his compound and follow his rules. Basically, its his way or the highway.
Enzo hates everything that Luna represents and he wants to make her bow to him in many ways. Only, the more he tries to break her and get her to belong to him, the more he discovers she has a taste for his brand of obsession.
They were a spark to the flame and their chemistry was explosive. The steam was very intense and at times I was even scared for them.
There were some parts of this book that felt a little too much like other entries to the series so far. I do wish the authors had maybe planned their content a little better, because if you are reading them all like I am…. It can get a little repetitive. I know that isn't this books fault in and of itself, but I have to note that it makes the binging experience a bit redundant.
Overall, this was another great entry and I would try another book by this author.

Twisted Obsession was very intense, plenty of action, and sensational characters.
Dani Rene has written an amazing mafia story about an underboss, Enzo, finding himself suddenly the Boss of the Familia with a twist, he must marry the daughter of a warring family, and he is not happy about it.
This couple were drawn to each other with a magnetic pull so strong they found it difficult to pull away. The attraction and the craving were very well written and I felt in awe of their passion.
Dani always gives her readers beautiful stories about damaged and intense men and what happens when they become obsessed with their woman.

Great read, i just wished they didn't jump from ''enemies'' to lovers out of nowhere, there was barely a build up between that. Which it's what made me kind of back off.
Other than that they clicked well together and i enjoyed their story.
I would've loved to see more of Enzo possessiveness though :D
I think the author could've work more on that before made them being a thing, just playing a bit with their attraction despite being enemies

Overall I enjoyed this book, especially as it went on and I became more invested in the characters. I had a bit of a hard time with the writing style as it was a bit too flowery for me as it stood in stark contrast to the subject matter. I also had a little hard of a time finding the FMC believable since she was a sheltered, inexperienced virgin who felt comfortable jumping right in knife play, but maybe its just off to me? 🤷🏻♀️ Enjoyed the storyline though and I did enjoy it a lot more the further I got into the book. The smexy times were hot 🔥🔥🔥 and I'm definitely willing to give this author another go!

Overall, I really enjoyed this story! Dani René is a new-to-me author and I like her style. The great action scenes and plot, the steamy scenes and strong characters with their heat and explosiveness all around, were enough to keep me sucked in. A solid 4 star read!

This was an enjoyable read.
However, I felt it was missing something. Perhaps it was the seamless invisible move from being a hated enemy to not being a hated enemy. Perhaps it was the repetitive language of “she’s getting under your skin.” Perhaps it was one of the characters saying that there was something about the h that he couldn’t put his finger on and it made the H internally question everything he’d come to believe about her but then it was never addressed again. The last couple of chapters seemed to be surface level and just to show the reader how much the H had fallen for the h.

If you are looking for a dark, mafia story that will make your heart stop, then this book is for you. I can’t even tell you how many times I held my breath as I read about Enzo and Luna. Many years ago an arrangement was made between their families and now was the time for it to come to fruition. But as in life, nothing ever goes as planned.
Enzo is the Boss of his family, and boy would I have liked him to “boss” me around! He is dark, dirty and delicious and I fell in love with his character. As for Luna, don’t let her age fool you, she is smart, sassy and the perfect match for Enzo. I loved everything about the storyline and the characters and could see this becoming a series of its own. Plus the chemistry these two have is smoking hot!!! Prepare yourself for a wild ride, one of which you will cringe at times, but this book is so well worth it!

Enzo waited a long time to exact his revenge. In one night not only did he lose his parents but also was handed over the responsibility of The underboss.
But what confuses Enzo is why would his father list his last wish to be a marriage contract with the enemy's daughter. He doesn't understand this nor does his right hand man, Mario. But his father's word has to be carried out.
Enzo was willing to fulfill his obligation but never thought he would be dazzled by the young and innocent dancer. Luna is a feisty princess. Even though her life changes in a blink of an eye when she understands she will have to marry a stranger, she never cowers or backs down.
I loved her attitude and how she was aptly a queen fit to stand by Enzo as she didn't take being talked down to. Not even from the most dangerous man, Enzo himself. I loved how she made herself his equal by making known that she didn't expect things to be lovey dovey but underatnds her responsibility as being grown up in the Mafia world herself.
There are twists as Enzo finds his father's letter and something feels amiss. This ride was unpredictable and I didn't know what next turn it would take.

Luna Isabella Cavallone and Enzo de Rossi are betrothed by contract and both literally enemy families so an interesting concept. This age gap story might not have worked had Luna not been more mature than her chronological age, however, living life as a mafia princess can do that to you.
I thoroughly enjoyed Luna’s sass and strong backbone, she needed it with Enzo that’s for sure. Not that he was the worst person to put up with, well, alright, occasionally he was a right royal pain. 😀 I actually liked both lead characters a lot and thought they were perfect for each other.
This author really knows her way around torture. 😂 To be serious though, she is simply sensational when it comes to describing her settings, what happens in the scenes, extracting emotional reactions from readers and building up character profiles. This story is captivating in its darkness yet also has a glimmer of light that shines through every now and then, teasing readers and making them wonder what is going to happen. I loved it.
This fast-paced story has loads of action and drama that keeps you entertained from the minute you start reading until the very last page.

The arranged marriage contract for them is quite odd considering the family history. It’s assumed it could be a peace offering. Luna is absolutely appalled when she finds out and is “given” to her new fiancé.
Enzo is a man who enjoys the violence that comes with his work. Knives are his specialty. This comes into play in sexy times later in the book. It’s pretty hot!
Between the violence and sex I would say heed trigger warnings if you’re a sensitive reader.
I enjoyed the forced proximity aspect a lot. I think it made for fiery chemistry.
I liked secondary character, Mario. I think he adds a bit of lightness to the story and insight into Enzo as they they are childhood best friends.
The obsession Enzo has for Luna is a big part of the story. It’s interesting and fits his personality.
They are hot and kinky together. I liked their sexual interactions and chemistry.
I wasn’t completely sold on their sweeter and loyal moments. It just didn’t fit to me, it was a bit extreme.
I’m sure this won’t be an issue for plenty of readers.

These two had me right from the beginning with their twisted attraction and moments between them. My heart was racing right along with Lunas.

It's time for Enzo to follow-through on his fathers contract to marry his enemy's daughter. He will never allow a woman into his heart and will make sure she knows her place in the marriage.
Luna was raised knowing what her part in the family would be. She didn’t expect that it would be with a known enemy that scares her and turns her on at the same time. Luna has a very solid backbone and isn’t afraid to stand her ground against Enzo.
Will she push him too far? Will Enzo keep his heart of stone or will he let her in?

Another great installment in the Underground Kings Series. I loved Enzo and Luna's story. They are from rival Mafia families and are to enter an arranged marriage. Enzo hates the feelings he starts to develop towards her. He also likes that Luna isn't afraid of him and his darkness. They chemistry between them is there from the beginning. You're holding your breath waiting for them to give in to the connection they both feel. A story full of steam, revenge and twists you won't see coming.

Twisted Obsession is exactly that and more!! Enzo and Luna’s story is dark, and twisted with a whole lot of spice. I like how their story takes you on an emotional, yet twisted path. The whole Underworld Kings series has been amazing and I can’t wait to read the next one!! I enjoyed reading Twisted Obsession and will like to read more by Dani Rene.

Going into this book I had high expectations. I love mafia romance tropes, they are my favorite. So when I got to about the middle of the book, I was pretty dissatisfied.
Firstly, I loved the whole enemies thing between Luna and Enzo. They couldn’t stand each other, and then all of a sudden they were screwing and basically in love. And I wouldn’t be complaining if it gradually moved from enemies to lovers. But it went from one chapter of them hating each other the whole time. Then the next they were all lovey dovey
Secondly, the whole knife thing with the drinking of the blood. I understand the knife kink, and I understand that this is just a book. But drinking someone’s blood can give you many health problems. To me that was a big turn off, it just killed the whole book. Nonetheless I would rather read about him drinking her blood than them screwing next to a corpse. Luna was turned on by killing someone. It was just very unsettling which made it hard to like her.
Then we have Enzo, a guy who loves to kill, drink his “fiancées” blood, and go from hot headed to calm and mushy.
I love when guys are all big and bad but mushy with their girlfriend. But this was so bad, it was irritating.
There was no real point to the story. There was barely any plot, and it just seemed like someone threw vampire diaries and criminal mind cases into a book. Vampire diaries because homie likes to drink blood, and criminal mind cases because they both get turned on my killing, and they have sex by a dead body. Who they carved up and sliced the neck.
I do not recommend anyone to spend their money on this book.
Specially if you are looking for a hot and steamy mafia romance. It was just basic sex but throw in a knife and you have a blood drinking kink. I don’t kink shame, but this was just terrible. Save your money and keep looking for a good book. I’m giving it two stars because, well.. I don’t know why at the moment. But it definitely won’t get any higher than two stars.
Firstly, I loved the whole enemies thing between Luna and Enzo. They couldn’t stand each other, and then all of a sudden they were screwing and basically in love. And I wouldn’t be complaining if it gradually moved from enemies to lovers. But it went from one chapter of them hating each other the whole time. Then the next they were all lovey dovey
Secondly, the whole knife thing with the drinking of the blood. I understand the knife kink, and I understand that this is just a book. But drinking someone’s blood can give you many health problems. To me that was a big turn off, it just killed the whole book. Nonetheless I would rather read about him drinking her blood than them screwing next to a corpse. Luna was turned on by killing someone. It was just very unsettling which made it hard to like her.
Then we have Enzo, a guy who loves to kill, drink his “fiancées” blood, and go from hot headed to calm and mushy.
I love when guys are all big and bad but mushy with their girlfriend. But this was so bad, it was irritating.

Twisted Obsession by Dani René is a beautiful and dark arranged marriage mafia romance. It's everything you can expect from the author. Dark. Violent. Filthy hot. Action packed.

No one gets inside his wall. And when he snatched Luna from her life and enclosed her in his penthouse, he only wanted to torture and ruin her. But Luna burrowed inside his heart with her fierceness, her sweetness, her pure beauty and her stubborn confidence. She stands upto him and demands to be treated as a queen. I loved her so much and the evolution of their relationship was stormy but strong. The love- hate tension was so delicious. And Enzo is so dirty and dominating! The story had many twists and turns. And the suspense was so good.

Dark, complicated romance…
If we’re talking about obsession, let’s start with my new fascination with the Underworld Kings series. Written by various authors, each story is a unique reflection on this genre in the voice and flavour of the writer. Each one has had a different feel but also the dark and (okay sometimes violent) family-twisty components that make them what they are… And what these have been have been fantastic reads….
Enzo and Luna were well-matched, both steely-strong in their own way, ready to face each challenge. An arranged marriage brought them together yet that wasn’t even the start of it. How that came to be, what followed that agreement, was a lesson in complications and betrayal. But also of loyalty and love, of respect. I felt I read their story always on my toes, as I was never quite sure what was happening next, what other shoe would drop. They were figuring things out and so was I, right along with them…
There were squirmy bits (this was, after all, a mafia-esque, no holds barred stroll down the dark path) but also moments of emotional discovery that balanced it all into an ‘all hearts in’ love story… ~Diane, 4 stars

This just didn’t work for me. I tried to like it though. I made myself finish even though it felt like a chore. The beginning is too slow paced. It was boring.
A multitude of things contribute to it but the make characters don’t come off as these brutal mafia made men. There’s a lot of talk about feeling and relationships. The H is too forthcoming with information about everything.
Then the h goes from being something he intends to use and punish to his queen in a heartbeat. It was unsettling. I just plain did not care at all about the family rivalry subplot, it was just meh.

Medium burn, there’s a bit of action beforehand but he takes her v card at 60%.
No condoms, virgin h, his historically isn’t really mentioned, knife play, blood play, push away from H, little push away from h too, no separation. No cheating, no cliffhanger and HEA.
Safety - this is safe, no cheating, no OW/OM drama and no scenes of them with others.

This is my first read by Dani René, and I'm so happy that this book introduced me to her work! Because I just love reading mafia romances. Twisted Obsession is a dark mafia, age gap, enemies to lovers and arranged marriage romance set in the Underworld Kings universe. From the very first page, I was hooked! Dani René's writing technique is amazing! Combining my favorite tropes plus a dark mafia romance?! There's no surprise that Twisted Obsession automatically became a five star read for me! Navigated from the main characters' perspectives: Enzo and Luna's. Enzo is cruel, merciless, ruthless, and a killer with boundaries. He wants vengeance, and unfortunately, Luna is collateral damage; innocent in the midst of bloodshed. Luna may be his enemy's daughter, but she's going to be his wife. And yes, he's the typical "alpha male", possessive and jealous as hell. Wow!! Luna is a badass character!! Despite being so young, she can handle anything thrown her way, namely Enzo. She's observant and can easily read people; mature for age, feisty and fiery. I mean, most people would cower or more like run the other direction when coming face-to-face with Enzo, (especially when/if you are his enemy or on opposing sides) but not Luna. She might fear him, but she won't yield or show her fear in front of Enzo. After all, she grew up and spent most of her time with some of the most dangerous men in her household. She should be afraid of Enzo's "darkness", but instead of running away Luna embraces it; she craves the monster lurking beneath the surface.
They might be enemies, but the chemistry and tension between them! My goodness! Luna most certainly kept Enzo on his toes! Neither of them can't comprehend why they are so attracted to each other. They might hate to admit it, but deep down they enjoy challenging each other. Luna easily affects him by getting under his skin, and this frustrates Enzo. The sassy spitfire, Luna, became an addiction for him; a twisted obsession. Luna is passionate about dancing, it has a major part in her life. Ahh! Loved Mario! He's Enzo's bestfriend and righthand man. Mario pointed out the facts and gave Luna and Enzo advice. Making them realize that despite being an arranged/contract marriage, even when they don't like to admit it to themselves Enzo and Luna started to care for each other. Luna managed to unlock his emotions that he kept a lock on for so long.
A never ending war between two rival mafia families: the De Rossis and Cavallones. Enzo father's last dying wish was for him to marry their rivals' daughter, Luna Cavallone. A contract marriage. The moment her father openly attacked the De Rossis, Luna's fate was sealed; her life isn't going to be the same. But that doesn't mean she's going to go into this marriage willing. Enzo’s character embodies everything I think of as a head of a mafia family. Intelligent and deadly. He trusts few, he loves even less. But, he protects what is his at all costs. While he appears as almost inhuman and emotionless, I loved watching Luna break those walls down in ways that only she could. And, Luna . . . she is so very fierce that you forget she is just 18 years old. She may have grown up as a mafia princess, but she knows just how dark her world can be and she accepts Enzo’s darkness, allowing her to become the Queen she was meant to be. I adored that she never lost her fight and she held her own in a world where women are meant to be submissive. She was everything Enzo didn’t know he needed.
While the romance was everything in this book, even as dark and twisted as it was at times, there is fantastic suspense as Enzo and his most trusted allies have to figure out who all participated in his father’s murder and whole the possible mole in their ranks is. It’s action packed and definitely not for the faint of heart as Enzo likes to play with his knife when it comes to asking questions, but it’s so well written that readers will be sucked into the intrigue right along with the romance.
I loved everything about this book and these characters and truly enjoyed my time in this dark world where the family really is everything. 4.5 stars!

Twisted Obsession by Dani René is part of the Underworld Kings Series. This is the story of Luna Isabella Cavallone and Enzo de Rossi. Enzo and his family are enemies of the Cavallone family and Enzo wishes to get revenge for his fathers death from them. But his father signed a contract between the two families for Luna and Enzo to marry which he will do to honor his father's wishes but he still wants his revenge. Luna is a young women who is a dancer and is very upset to be sold off to Enzo. Enzo thinks that he can control and break her but Luna is a very strong women who is finding the dark side of Enzo not so dark for her. This is a dark romance but it was a page turning read for me.

So much action and killing and hatred! Enzo is a dangerous ruthless man. He is brought into the head of familia at an early age and he is ready to take over daddys head of the family job.
His arranged marriage to Luna is in motion, all he wants is to make her pay. He is obsessed with her, he watches her , thinks about her constantly and thats not how its supposed to be.
Luna is a strong willed princess. A beautiful dancer who has lived the mafia way all her life so she is not scared of Enzo. She challenges him, pushes him to the limit.
I love the back and forth between them!
