yes i shamelessly logged a fanfic on goodreads, it was 256k words so i think its reasonable. yes i rated it 5 stars, this is geniuenly better than some of the published books ive read.
enemies to lovers, musician band au, awkward gay teenagers with the funniest banter. i ate it up, what more could i ask for?
everything about this was perfect, the canon retelling, the atmosphere descriptions, the angst, the drama, perfect.
(i did sob over this story more than one time, one of them being in SCHOOL. and i frequently stayed up until 4am on school nights just to finish a chapter. dont tell that to anyone tho.)

“I was screaming your name through the radio” is a piece that will feel sweeter than a cotton candy.

(Yes, I’m able to use Goodreads for fanfiction — and I will use it.)

“I was screaming your name through the radio” is essentially a loose retelling of events from Bungou Stray Dogs. The entire story is set within the music industry. Instead of the Port Mafia, we now have the Port Mafia Records, and the Armed Detective Agency has been reinvented as the Audio Detective Agency (Ha! How’s that for a twist?). Still, the main focus of this drama remains, of course, the “Double Black” duo. In fact, the characters’ names could easily be changed and the story published as a solid piece of original fiction.

The work is an excellent example of a slow-slow-burn romance. For about six or seven hundred pages — or ca. eight years in the characters’ lives — the reader witnesses the emergence of first feelings, their acceptance, and gradual growth. All this unfolds alongside a fairly extensive plot featuring a large cast of side characters.

The author handles the execution well. The story reads easily and is uplifting. Since we’re talking about free, publicly available content, I don’t think it’s fair to judge the writing language too harshly — though it’s quite decent.
The storytelling itself deserves special mention. It’s extremely nonlinear, and that’s executed very well. Not only does the author provide a detailed timeline of events, but they also toss us from beginning to end and back again, stoking anticipation for the climactic moments. I swear, sometimes I kept reading just for that narrative technique — if it hadn’t been so skillfully done, I might’ve dropped the text halfway through. But it was absolutely worth it.

As for the romantic arc...
Well, it’s perfect for fans of fluff and sweetness. The romance here is sweeter than chocolate truffles, yet it’s not devoid of serious conflict. It fits really well with the teenage years of the characters. The only real criticism I have is that the characters seem to lack emotional growth. While they do change and learn to accept their feelings, they still never really feel like adults to me — it’s as if they emotionally remained the same teens from the beginning of the story. (Perhaps it is also connected with the problems they face. If they are not the same as in the teenage years, then they have even become somewhat simpler. The problems of adult life essentially do not appear there at all.).
As for the romantic climax and ending… I’ll just refrain from commenting. I ended up skimming through it.

A few more words about the plot.
It’s generally solid, and at times VERY strong. The beginning really had me glued to my Kindle screen. However, around the 80–85% mark, something clearly went off track. It felt like certain arcs were underdeveloped or outright abandoned — as if the author simply lost interest in those plotlines and decided to leave them with a shrug and a “well, the character’s over it now.”

In conclusion, I’d say the work is still quite good. It has its flaws and strengths, but I genuinely enjoyed the first half of it. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves sweet romance with a few emotional ups and downs.

oh my god. this makes me feel so SICK AND DEATHLY ILL

is it weird to say that a fanfic is my most favourite book ever???? BECAUSE YESSS ABSOLUTELY THIS FANFIC IS THE BEST 250K WORDS I HAVE EVER HAD THE JOY AND PLEASURE OF READING

the chapters are EXTREMELY long (and whatever ur thinking is long it’s probably longer than that) which i thought would make this rlly rlly hard to get through and at first for a couple days yeah it was but then i read like the last few chapters SUPER quickly just because of how invested i was (and each chapter was like 20-40k words so yeah imagine that 😭😭😭)
for something double the size of your average novel IT IS WORTH IT I SWEAR. this is THE soukoku fic for a good reason!!!!! trust me and everyone else who screams about this (through the radio!!!)

i’m afraid i’m not sure if i can read smth without thinking of this ever again because it really was that good. this whole fanfic is so well crafted you can tell the writer loves writing sososoosos much and even an insurmountable amount of words cant effectively describe how fantastic it is.
dear electricsplatter i hope everything good comes ur way because this fic made me cry and laugh and squeal from joy sooo many times and it was just the best roller coaster of fiction ever.
SND JUST SAYING BUT I WOULD LITERALLY DIE TO HEAR CORRUPTION OR ARAHABAKI OR I AM NOT ALLOWED TO COMMENT ON ONGONG PORT MAFIA LEGAL DISPUTES OR SWAN SONG

So, I was nervous and scared to read this one because for what I've seen is the favorite skk fanfic in the fandom.
But I really enjoy it!
I appreciated the long chapters, the searching the author made and the beautiful way they wrote this relationship. Then, I have to admit that I loved more the chapters before the "Breaking point" because the chapters after that I was suffering a lot, all I wanted is that my kids were together and fine. It was a long waiting.
Another thing that I enjoy were the lyrics. If someone could make a song with them, please tell me!

This fanfic will stay with me for a while, though this wasn't what I was expecting this is so precious and hit me hard.
I'm gonna end this here. Sorry for my stutter.

I don't rly get the hype :/// twas written ok and I rly liked how trauma was portrayed however most of it was just recaping what was happening throughout it. I wish there was more emotions on both sides, and a little more tension. Characterization was good, and it stuck to the original characters instead of making them more of stereotypical gay couple.

Almost 600 pages of slow burn, heart wrenching angst and real, raw love. It is 3:09 am and I am on my floor as I write this. It's gonna take me like a week or more to recover from this. Loved every second.

The best ffc I've ever read honestly like it was just so perfect, the rollercoaster of emotions was almost too much to handle and oh boy did I love the ending. Pure perfection.

LITERALLY THE BEST THJNG IVE EVER READ WTF I bring this up multiple times a week and all my friends are all “damn bro I’d never read a fanfiction” like ok just ignore the one thing that’ll change your lives I guess but whatever
I think about this all day every day there’s not a single second that passes where an iwsynttr reference doesn’t subconsciously appear in my psyche literally even fridays are a reference to me now because I’ll open my phone and see “friday” and think “it’s a friday and it’s been a hell of a week” ⁉️ they’re going to drag me to the psych ward kicking and screaming about how much I adore soukoku they’re my life my soul my one and only will to live and don’t even get me STARTED on the pre-arahabaki release omg that period of time from when they first met to when they were touring was absolutely DELICIOUS I ate that shit up so desperately starving for an ounce of soukoku media and there’s not a SINGLE bad chapter within this book I swear even after the divorce ☹️☹️☹️☹️ when chuuya was hooking up with that random policewoman I started tweaking so hard but NO words can explain how happy I am when kouyou showed reason and sanity and made them break up because my babygirl knows what’s UPPP soukoku forever she will NOT let some bitch with blue hair and I swear tsujimura’s hair isn’t even a nice blue it’s a weird mix of piss and millennia old lake water but maybe im just biased anyways the only thing I didn’t like about this was how utterly clueless atsushi is he pisses me off so bad but it was so in character because he’s clueless in bsd asw and it worked out as well because if it wasn’t for that hopeless orphan that BEAUTIFUL confession scene after the arahabaki release would never have happened 💔 I have to say I think the apartment break in might top the aggressive backstage makeout scene and I wonder if kouyou ever got in trouble for leaking chuuya’s apartment password to some random suicidal maniac from a rival company but I love gingers so I forgive her 🥰🥰 (that includes chuuya) AND TANIZAKI bro held up the entirety of the black lizard and the pre-corruption release diabolical chinese pub shenanigans what an icon

anyways 𝓼𝓸𝓾𝓴𝓸𝓴𝓾 𝓼𝓾𝓹𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓪𝓬𝔂 and I will still be ranting about this story when they lock me up and put me in a psych ward kicking and screaming about how i was screaming your name through the radio changed my life

I didn't even know that this was in Goodreads... Anyway. I absolutely loved it. I wasn't a fan of the big chapters and, to be honest, it did get tiring at some point, BUT, I really really really liked the way it is written and apart from my love for soukoku and Bungo Stray Dogs in general, the plot was so so good. One of my favorite things in this fanfic was the fact that the author literally wrote whole songs for this. The author should definitely publish a book one day because that is TALENT.

(No, I didn't finish it, shut the hell up. I will finish it one day >:[)

I was sobbing and laughing over this, Soukoku fanfics are going to kill me someday and when it does, this book will be the main suspect. The song "I'm not allowed to comment on ongoing Port Mafia Records legal disputes but-" made me giggle and kick my feet and then Arahabaki made me sob because of how real that felt and genuinely hurt my soul. When Dazai thought Chuuya didn't love him back I wanted to scream at him that he does love him back but alas,he didn't learn that until like 6 chapters later.

this was absolutely heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I was so caught up on reading it, I was binging this despite having 12 consecutive tests in 3 days. the plot is like really really great too! you could see how it's almost like the actual Soukoku plot but as musicians. I absolutely loved their dynamic here! and the slowburn! the pinning! the angst! it's all so worth it! the ending was so mwah!

Literally my favourite Soukoku fanfic. I just love this book with my whole heart. This got me through some tough times in my life and I’m really grateful for it in many ways. Like I can’t even be mad about the long ass chapters and having to stay up at night to read them. That’s how much I adore this fanfic. And I just love Dazai and Chuuya as a duo ❤️
