A LIFE HANGS IN THE BALANCE, AND THE STAKES ARE DEADLY.
After having been court-martialed and sent to prison for a war crime he didn’t commit, former Army Ranger Steve Wolf has taken up bounty hunting with his friend, mentor, ex-Green Beret Big Jim McNamara. Having survived a brutal confrontation south of the border and a recent attack by mercenaries hired by his mysterious and incredibly wealthy foe, Wolf also finds himself being badgered by the FBI.
A lucrative bounty takes him and Mac to a lawless encampment inside a large city in the Pacific Northwest, but the same powerful, rich man who set Wolf up years ago is still shadowing him hoping to gain possession of a priceless artifact that is in Wolf’s unknowing possession. To accomplish this end, the sinister rich man employs still another professional killer, a former CIA fixer who is set to come at Wolf with unrelenting efficiency. Just when it seems things couldn’t get worse, Wolf and McNamara must suddenly rescue Mac’s grandson who has been taken to a militia compound and held hostage. Facing CIA killers, crazed militia forces, and overwhelming odds, Wolf once again finds himself outnumbered and outgunned.
An ex Army Ranger , Steve, was mistakenly sent to prison. Now he and his friend Mac end up having to solve a major problem. Plenty of suspense and excitement to keep you reading.
Merged review:
Two heroes and danger that follows them. Having something that someone else wants is quite dangerous. You wonder how they will get out of this. Plenty of of action to keep you reading.
This is a great book that introduced me to a new series.
Our Heroes: Former Army Ranger Steve Wolf is a great character who had an unfortunate past. And his mentor and friend, ex-Green Beret Big Jim McNamara.
Opposing them: the man who framed Wolf with an offense that sent him to prison and a number of killers after our two heroes.
Situation: Unknowingly, Wolf has an artifact in his possession that that the killers want to take from him.
Follow our two heroes through their adventures and misadventures. Trust me, it will keep you on your toes to the exciting finish.
Now I'm ready to read the other books in this series.
As this series goes on it gets twistier and twistier! The endgame is near but the outcome is still up in the air. But I'm anticipating getting started on Book Three quick, fast and in a hurry. The ONLY drawback I've seen is that the editing must have also been quick, fast and in a hurry. Lots of misspelling, poor syntax and sentence structure. I just hope they fix it in further editions. But still, those errors didn't take anything away from the story.
This is the third book of the series and I give all give stars. The characters are believable and you find yourself cheering for the good guys. Michael A. Black writes with a gritty no nonsense style. He also includes some shots at those idiotic liberal fools. Onto the next exciting book!
Another great Wolf adventure marred by sloppy editing
Black writes well and keeps all of us involved with action, multiple heroes and villains, and some unexpected twists and turns. However, once again, misspellings and incorrect words and punctuation make for tough reading. Hire a high school senior to edit and give all of us a break? (Then you'll move up to 5 stars.)
Wolf and Mac continue their bounty hunting adventures. Mac's grandson goes with his dad for two week visitation and ends up in the middle of an old army camp where radicals are set up to take a stand against the government.
