Is it a case of mistaken identiy? Or is Fate making trouble?
Knox MacKendricks' friends have been leaving their sanctuary left and right, falling in love and embracing their new lives. But after 3 centuries, the only woman—no, goddess—Knox wants is no more than dust and dreams...
Or is she?
Winnie Makepeace lost everything in a California fire except for some insurance money and her best friend. She's learned that life is short and she's making sure her friend gets everything on his bucket list, starting with Scotland. But when a troubled Highlander falls in her lap, she's got to choose...
It’s been a while since I read this and I’ve been absolutely atrocious at reviewing things. But I resolved to finish all my 2021 reviews by February. This book was definetly not even close to my favorite from the 58 books in the series I've read but it wasn’t bad.
Knox was dealing with his obligations from the past and Winnie was on a whirlwind trip to Europe with a friend after her life was literally lit ablaze by California’s wildfires. Luckily her insurance came through and she made a wild choice to have an adventure for once in her life.
The book is packed full of misunderstandings that lead to a cute relationship. All being said, I am a sucker for a pub scene. The next bit I talk about will be quite spoilery but I was quite happy that I love an extra bit of time travel in these books and this delivers.
Wickham had his plot busted wide open in this one. I cannot wait to see what happens with him. Wickham and Ivy best have a happy ever after or I am gonna riot. Also, what is the deal with Grandfather? Muir magick warrants more explanation.
Another story about one of the ghosts of Culloden Moor. I'm impressed and amazed that the various authors are managing to tell different stories for each of the ghosts (and that we're on the final third of the ghosts). I love the series and will be sad when the last story is told, but I really enjoy the journey! Thanks to L L Muir for coming up with the idea and persuading so many authors to join in too 😁
Another great ghostie tale has been told and with the telling of the tale I feel a bit closer to Wickham. While enjoying the misunderstandings of vampires and werewolves!! "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!" Should be on a pillow on Knox's couch or a tshirt he wears!! Great story that has pieces of the witchy puzzle getting filled in.
After "The Reckoning" I wondered if the books would lose some of their appeal. I am pleased to say this book, like the others, is well written and held my interest right through to the end. Another great read.
And so the lads keep on moving forward... spreading out across the world. Without saying why, I’d very much like to read a sequel to Knox in the not too distant future! (Hint)
I really enjoyed Knox and Winnie's story. I liked Shug and I always enjoy Wickham in these stories. I do miss Soni being in them more like she was at the start of the series. I would recommend this one, it's a great read!
There is an old saying that kept playing g in my mind as I read this classic L.L. Muir Ghostly tale. Sometimes we only see the closed door and not the open window right next to the closed door.People may miss right in front of them.
Knox and Win he's story read a lot like a fairy tale. Considering it was mentioned multiple times that warewolves, vampires, fairies and witches may be involved, it was quite interesting.
I enjoyed The blending of other characters with this story. Wickham has a bit of fun interacting with the main character, as well.as the old grandfather. It was fast paced and fun.
I have loved all the Ghosts of Culloden. I highly recommend them all. They’re an addiction! I especially liked Winnie, maybe because that was my mother’s name.
I love the story of Knox and Winnie. Knox is dealing with obligations from the past and Winnie is on a trip across Europe with a friend when they meet. Good intentions, misspoken words, witches, time travel, and handsome highlanders all find a place in this whirlwind of a story.
Knox, by L.L. Muir, is the 57th book in The Ghosts of Culloden Moor series, but can also be read as a standalone. I have read every book in this series and must say that none have disappointed me. The story of Soncerae, the 79, Wickham, the Muir sisters, and many other wonderful characters is fascinating. Don't miss out, pick up The Gathering today and begin your journey.
