Follow your dreams , they said. We believe in you , they said. You're going to be a superstar , they said. Two years ago, Abby Goodacre, the hollow’s hometown hopeful headed off to Music City to seek her fame and fortune. But the road to superstardom has proven to be a whole lot bumpier than she’d expected. Now she’s hiding out in a friend’s spare room, too ashamed to show her face around town. She's let them all down - her band, her fans, her father, her sisters, her friends, yes, all of Plumwood Hollow. They just don't know it yet. At least, that’s what she thought. Until the hollow’s hometown heartthrob shows up at her back door… and he’s not willing to be shut out of her life again. Jedediah Goodacre has watched all seven of his daughters discover their own paths, and he couldn’t be prouder of each of them. He’s looking forward to living the gray and grizzly bachelor life now that he’s no longer sharing a roof with all his womenfolk. But the Almighty seems to have other plans for him—in the guise of a long-limbed shepherdess hellbent on getting under his skin. It seems Jed can’t get away from her… either that, or he can’t get enough of her. One thing he’s sure of, though, is that she’s nothing like his late wife, his beloved sweet Caroline. Well, there is that one little similarity. He can’t seem to say ‘no’ to Charlotte Rawlings any more than he could to Caroline. And that woman knows it. ♥If you love clean and wholesome contemporary romance in a small town setting, pick up Something About A Seven Virtues Ranch Romance Book 7 today. Becky writes heartfelt and wholesome contemporary commercial fiction filled with friendship, romance, humor, a touch of mystery, a sprinkling of whimsy, plus a bushel of family drama. And usually a four-legged or winged companion, too. She’s also the voice behind an ever-expanding library of more than 200 audiobooks.
Becky and her Tomato Man met in the '80s (big hair, big hats, poofy sleeves, the works - see her About Page on BeckyDoughty.com). They live at the end of a lane on top of a hill in a hundred-year-old house. They share their lives with never enough pets, and they grow dueling riotous, rambling gardens. Most of the things in their gardens are edible… but some are most definitely not, due to Becky’s fascination with poisonous plants. They have three adult children living wild adventures of their own, but who also show up on demand with scrumptious grandbabies to nibble on.
Abby was the seventh daughter of Jed and his deceased wife Caroline. Abby was raised by her father and sisters on their ranch called Seven Virtues in a small town in the hollows. Abby had taken her singing and moved to Nashville only to end up coming home several months later after the band had crashed and moved on leaving her with nothing. This was a great series on life and love and families looking out for each other. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I don't really want to see the end of the Seven Virtues Ranch series, but this is a good ending in any case. There's lots of brokenness and issues the characters have to work through, as well as some wrong perceptions that need to be corrected. Good friends and family are there to help, but there's still plenty of angst, tears, conflict and lessons to work through. I wish I could go visit Plum Hollow and meet the Goodacres and their clan.
I’m so sad that this is the last of the series. I have loved these stories so much. Laughed and cried but this last one about Abby was so good and her Daddy well I wish the series would go on. Great reading
First, Something about Abby was as great as all of "Seven Virtues Ranch". From the first book to the last All seven stories were emotions that had a reader going through all the feelings. One word says it all, " STUPENDOUS". Thank you
I have enjoyed each of the Seven Virtues Ranch series, and this provides a satisfying ending. It also includes a lot of the backstory of Jed and his wife in their younger days. Loved the themes of honesty and transparency!
This was such a good, real book with characters who are flawed and wonderful. I loved the parallel story with both Abby and Jed. So good. Read the whole series and fall in love with this family.
Becky Doughty has a classic saga in The Seven Virtues Ranch series. The story of Jed and his seven daughters, their struggles and triumphs and lives. Happy endings all.
