Isabelle "Izzy" Harmon is home again. Literally. After landing her first teaching gig, Izzy has found herself sleeping in her old room on an ancient twin bed that squeaks whenever she moves. Sure, she loves Honeywell, Iowa but part of her wanted to move to civilization rather than return to her old life after graduating from college. Farm life is in her blood but so is the man who lives next door. It's too bad he never saw her as more than his best friend's little sister.
It's true what they say... distance makes the heart grow fonder and four years away did nothing to quell the way Izzy's heart rate doubles whenever he's nearby. She hoped to get over it, but things don't always work out the way we hope.

Nashville "Nash" Watson never left. His goal of playing baseball in the majors flew out the window the second he found out he was going to be a father. No regrets, though, because Nash figured he'd return to Honeywell, Iowa to farm his family's land. It was the only thing he knew for sure. Well, that and he's never falling for another woman again. Ever.

I read this several weeks ago and never wrote a review so my memory is rusty on this one. My overall reading experience with this was that it's like a lot of other similar books, nothing groundbreaking, an OK read.

I was annoyed at the H that he was such a hard case about trusting a woman ever again, and treating the h like trash, and then he does a sudden 180 and is in love. It felt rushed.

Overall, it was a sweet story, good writing, with a likeable h but nothing special.

Great read!

This was such a cute book. The beginning seemed to be a bit slow and the end seemed a bit rushed but it was still a pretty good read! This had a great storyline and I love the small town romance aspect!

Nash’s dreams for the future changed when he finds himself a single father to his daughter Andi but there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her, but she is the only woman that he wants in her life. Having to spend time with his daughter’s teacher, who also happens to be his best friend’s sister, to help Andi with her reading is the last thing he wants and isn’t shy about letting her know that.

There was no denying the attraction that Izzy felt for Nash, but she can do without his surly attitude. All she wants to do is help him and his daughter and he is about to find out that it is better for them to work together than against each other.

Izzy is the type of person you can’t help but love as she will do anything for anyone while in the beginning Nash is the type of man you love to hate but he shows there is much more to him than first appears.

oh yeah, this was awesome. Great build-up, nice slow burn that was combustible when they finally got together but still not weighed down with "oh lord, they're doing it AGAIN" moments. Very nice. Will read more by this author.

FarmBoy by Kayt Miller was such a great read for me! This was my first book by this author and I loved it. Because it’s a novella it was a quick read, but still managed to pack plenty of feels, develop characters well, and provide a story i only wished was longer because it was so good!

I loved Izzy and Nash’s story. Izzy was likable from the get go, but the real standout for me was Nash. Yes, he’s difficult to like for a good portion of the book, but once he let his walls down he had me in a puddle of swoon! Plus, I’m a sucker for a good single-parent romance and this one was so good.

If you’re a lover of single parent/brother’s best friend trope and quick reads with all the feels than you definitely need to make FarmBoy your next read. 5 stars.

Cute sweet read.

So I pretty much decided to read this for two reasons. 1. That cover model is gorgeous and 2. brother's best friend is my crack.

And I enjoyed this story. It was super cute, sweet and had a little bit of steam as well. Nash was the best kind of book boyfriend, totally swoonworthy. There were a few little things that got to me, but I won't go into them. I did find the writing style a little difficult to read at times, but that could have just been me. And I would have liked a little bit more steam, earlier on in the book. And I also would have liked a little bit more brother drama. This was brushed over for other drama. Overall though, it was worth the read. I did enjoy the quick read.

This is my first book by Kayt Miller but it won't be my last. There was just something about Farmboy that grip me from the start. I have read a number of romances over the year's where they are set on farms but none of them gave me the feel of actually understand farm live but this book. did The passion, hardships and danger that comes from running a farm.

Farmboy Nash has known Farmgirl Isabelle all her life -their farms back on to each other; Nash is best friends with Issy's brother Isaac and Issy has crashed on Nash for years - but he got his high school girlfriend pregnant and when she up and left him with the adorable Andi - Nash is life is the far and his now young daughter.

When Nash and Issy spent time together while Issy helps Andi with her reading the sparks start to fly between the girl that has always crashed on the handsome farmer boy and the girl that Nash feels is to good for him.

When Ivy the ex comes back in to town the rumour mill starts to have a field day and all the old fears rear their ugly head. Can Nash man up and truly believe that he is the right farmer boy for Issy and can Issy truly believe that Nash would pick her instead of the beautiful home coming queen Ivy.

Pick up your copy and find out you won't be disappointed.

What an awesome romance. This book was truly something that I wasn't expecting to like so much. Sure it was a quick read but I felt like nothing was lacking from the story and everything flowed really well throughout. The story was straight to the point and I appreciated that from this book because it was done really well. I loved how the main character Isabelle (Izzy) knew what she wanted and did not settle for anything less than what she desired especially towards her feelings for Nashville (Nash). He always seemed to misunderstand her feelings. She was strong and independent. She is a curvy woman and the book emphasises the difference between Ivy (Nash's baby mama) and Isabelle's body but it didn't make it seem like something was wrong with the difference. There is even a scene in the story that leaves room for thought but it was done beautifully. I love how Nash was always reassuring and loving Izzy for who she really is curves and all. He even got angry at times because he did not appreciate the way Ivy spoke ill of Isabelle's body.

This was a romance about the main character Isabelle being in love with her brothers best friend Nashville (Nash) since she was in high school. Unfortunately, Nash being two years older and dating Ivy his long time girlfriend and the popular girl in high school she knew nothing would happen between them. Especially since Ivy is pregnant with Nash's child senior year of high school. As she moved away to college she hears about Ivy leaving Nash and their daughter Andrea (Andi) to seek fame and fortune in Hollywood. Nash being a single dad dedicates his life to taking care of his family's farm and his daughter. Isabelle moves back to Iowa because of a teaching job she accepts and it's there she meets Andi. Nash is initially mean to Isabelle and she doesn't understand why. Nash is considered a good catch in their small town since he is single and handsome. Nash and Isabelle become close because of their mutual interest and love for Andi and things really progress between them from there. Ivy comes back into Nash's life while he pursues his feeling towards Isabelle leading to a lot of drama. Isabelle knows what she wants and Nash keeps saying and doing the wrong things. Their story does have some adversities but they work through them and have their much deserved happily ever after.

My favorite thing about all of Kayt’s books is the fact that they take me to a world were things are possible but not unrealistic. And her female leads find their strength or already have it. They don’t come across as the damsel in distress because they don’t actually need saving. There’s a lot of cliché curvy stories available from other authors but the books by Kayt Miller have bite.

I was so excited to purchase Farmboy when it came out and it did not disappoint! “Just a few more chapters” turned in to staying up until 3am to finish it. I like that Nash was a little bit of an ass - not every male lead in a book needs to be easy to get a long with and perfect. It brings more of a real life aspect to the book.

I loved Izzy right off the bat. She had me hooked on the story right from the beginning. Now Nash I had to warm up to. He's one grumpy guy that can rub you the wrong way at first. His daughter has an old soul. She's a bright spot in Nash's life. Can't blame the guy because life has thrown him enough curve balls. I loved watching Nash open up the more Izzy is in his life. She's so perfect for him. This book will pull on all of your emotions. It's a good story to get lost in. I would recommend it. Plus it's my jam with Nash being a single dad.

Loved!

I’m a sucker for a single dad romance and Farmboy was a really good one especially when add in a best friends little sister, opposites attract and teacher/parent storylines. And all those tropes work really well together to provide an emotional, steamy and heartwarming story.

If you like a cute kid, a pet cow, a small towns and some baby momma drama I think you will love this book. I did.

Honestly this book wasn't bad, but some parts were weird to me, to say the least? For starters I did not understand how the hero fell for the heroine. Okay sure she was his best friend's sister but this man acted like complete asshole to her for no apparent reason, for YEARS, and all of a sudden he decided that he was in love with her? It's so random! Other than that, it was okay.

Thank u, Kayt Miller !

Cute story, fun, and easy read. A little predictable, but a good ride anyway. There are lots of bumps in the road, truck is to work them out. These lovers did that.

Truly LOVED this book; it had everything that I melt over: an innocent heroine who tames the bad boy. The juxtaposition of innocence to experience, light to dark, is pure magic!

I hope this author writers more books like this, because I’ll definitely read it if so!!

Was OK. I liked the premise of enemies to lovers but the "love" was WAY too quick. Fast read, cute characters. Overall good read.

I’ve had this one on my “Next Read” shelf for quite a while now and finally picked it up. I’m not sure what I was waiting on or why I hesitated to download it and read it. This is my first read by Kayt Miller and it won’t be the last. Farmboy appealed to me because I come from a long line of Midwest farmers and I understand the culture very well. This book does a good job of nailing that. Also, there’s the older brother’s best friend trope and an absolutely adorable little six-year-old. That best friend? He gave up his dreams, or at least part of them, for that little six-year-old when he found out he was going to be a daddy. That little girl’s mother couldn’t give up hers, though. She ran as far as she could almost as soon as she could.

Izzy is the little sister who followed that farm boy and her brother all over. She is definitely off-limits according to the Bro Code. They grew up on neighboring farms. She knows the lifestyle and loves it. Now she’s back home after getting her teaching degree and is a reading specialist at the local elementary school. One of the first students she is asked to evaluate is none other than that adored six-year-old little girl. But will her daddy be willing to let Izzy work with her? That’s when all the fun begins.

There’s really nothing unexpected in this story. It has all the usual things you’d expect it to have, pretty much in the order you’d expect to have them. It’s just fun reading it all. It’s kinda like reading a diary and those are always fun.

everybody got dumb reading pet peeves based on their real lives and this book hit a few of mine in the first few chapters. wtf kinda 1st grade teacher goes to the reading specialist at a title 1 school (which good for this school of 30 damn kids having a teacher just to support that) and says a kids can't read but did no assessments of their own?? and then when andi goes to read with izzy, andi reads 4 words and izzy is like yep, sounding it out! that's the problem! meanwhile the book they read together was damn near at a 3rd grade level just from the excerpt we heard. and then when we hear some of the incog-illegal tutoring happening at the house the girl aint even reading next to her student! she must think she mrs. hooked on phonics her damn self.

glad i got that off my chest.

getting to the actual story - nash was a piece of shit for no real reason and not a good dad. lazy as hell when it came to his child's education. they spent no time together to fall in love. didn't like the brother being weird at the wedding or the possessiveness of the men in this book about this fully grown woman. and why she got to be a v??? for whose benefit???????

andi was great but too present (like most children). this novella felt long as hell.

What a darling beautiful read, it gets you from the start with that handsome Nash.

Izzy is a teacher at an elementary school, she help kids with reading and she gets the opportunity to help Andi this little girls is something else by the way, she’s so cute and funny, anyway Andi happens to be the daughter of her brothers best friend Nash, and he is brooding gorgeous farm owner, who has a chip on his shoulder because of his ex girlfriend. He doesn’t want to fall for another woman because of all the damage his ex caused but enter Izzy and all of that changes.

It’s a really funny, romantic beautiful read, could not put it down. I love Izzi’s courage and her attitude is well defined, I love that in a book heroine, that she knows what she wants, she has a bit of self esteem issues but she’s working on them, I felt her like a real person. Nash is kind of a brute but a lovable one at that, he loves his daughter so much and he is such a guy in the way he can’t explain himself ever and only ends up in more of a mess with Izzy.

Great couple, good plot overall it’s a five star read for me.

Dear Lawd, Nash really got on my nerves with his rude attitude towards his sister's bestie, Izzy, who is now his tiny human's teacher. As a single father, he doesn't want any other women in his life but his daughter, and when he has to talk to Izzy about his daughter's reading, yeah, he didn't give a great impression since he's going to have to spend time with her. Izzy feels the chemistry between them, but she can definitely do without his crappy attitude, so a frustrating push & pull follows which had me ready to tear my hair out. It's not that I could take it or leave it either since Kayt Miller has such an addictive writing style which kept me from being able to put FarmBoy down for even meal breaks. it's a great story but I don't want to get into any more detail since everyone needs to enjoy it blindly, so hit those one click buttons because there's more to this story than a rude hero & a fantastic heroine! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

For a novella, this book has a lot of feels. And when it was over, I found myself disappointed that this book wasn't longer. That said, since I've been sick the past three weeks with my head dizzy most hours of the day, it actually was the perfect length for me. This is an author whose name I have come across many times but haven't read. I'm so glad I read her. I will be looking back at her catalog for more.

It isn't easy writing a novel; it's even more difficult to write a short novella and put in it everything that a reader desires. For me, Farmboy had a good amount of angst, complex characters, and an entertaining story. Notice how I said, 'complex characters' and not likable ones? While I adored Izzy and Andi, Nash was a whole other story. He was definitely hard to like throughout much of the book for me. Of course, I inferred he would end up being the perfect hero, and was not disappointed when he let his walls down. He was truly romantic and loving, protective and sweet as well as sexy. I couldn't help but love him.

I am not going into details, especially since this story is short and fast paced. I don't want to spoil anything. I will tell you that there is plenty to keep you engaged; turning pages. If I haven't been sick, I could have definitely devoured this in one setting. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read that has character development, angst, and a believable love story.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

Izzy has loved Nash since she was 13. She was his best friends little sister, So to him that meant hands off. Nash is now a single dad and Izzy is his daughter Andi’s teacher. Nash is trying to farm his land and do the best he can for Andi. When Izzy offers to work with Andi to help with her reading, Nash is not happy but agrees since it is what is best for Andi.

Nash is trying to stay away from Izzy, so he says and does things to upset her. Andi’s mother who left 5 years ago because she wanted to have a better life, comes back to stir up trouble.

Nash and Izzy finally get everything straightened out, and get their HEA.

I've read a couple of stories by Kayt and this one didn't disappoint. This was a quick read but there was alot going on. Nash and Izzy's story goes back because Nash is her brother's best friend. Izzy is back home after college and Nash never left after high school. Y'all you can tell these two have a connection but Nash is being so hateful because he has his guard up. He makes a few mistakes along the way but he is good at saying he's sorry. And in the end it all works out and they finally get there happy.

This is Izzy and Nash’s story. Izzy had just returned to her hometown as a teacher, and her brother best friend is Nash who is a single dad to his little daughter, and he is certainly not looking for any relationships. These two keep crossing paths but will they act on the undeniable chemistry between them? No spoilers: this is a must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written tale which had me hooked ad intrigued throughout, and I highly recommend for all readers.

I enjoyed this story. Isabelle was sweet and smart, and knew what she wanted and what she would put up with. Nash was a bit self-centered and in denial. Things throw these two together, and a bumpy road began to realization, resolutions, and love. I had tears at times as the family drama became more intense. I recommend this story.

I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
