Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.

All I need from you is an email address to send them to. Here's the link you need - https://mailchi.mp/fd47a6eb4ae5/patri...

When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.

Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

Three books and I’m frustrated

I don’t mind comedy or snarky comments , I actually enjoy it. This series is taking it overboard. It’s becoming a cross between Lucille Ball and the Keystone Cops, maybe even a little three stooges. The main character hadn’t actually solved a case , she kind of falls into the solution.

This wonderful story will give you a good laugh, and keep you guessing right up to the end.

The story starts with a bridal fayre.

Bridal companies, ring makers, florists, cake makers, make-up artists, and a great many other companies were all in attendance. In fact the venue was packed with all those companies, that are required to produce bespoke weddings for those people willing to pay for the very best. So naturally, Felicity as one of the top wedding planners in the business, was in attendance. Her stand with it's perfect display, and it's prime position near the entrance to the hall, was attracting a great many clients, which suited Felicity perfectly.

However, her arch-nemesis, Primrose Green; a far more showy, flamboyant but lower quality wedding planner; had a stall that was in the centre of the hall, and consequently was not attracting quite as much attention as Felicity's.

Felicity noticed Primrose was near her stand, examining the leaflets that Felicity had on display. Of course, Primrose considered it fair game to try to destroy her arch-nemesis' business by any means possible.

Naturally, when suddenly a man is electrocuted and dies right in front of Felicity's stall, the first and only culprint in Felicity's mind is of course, Primrose.

So, with the help of her assistant and a young man who acted as another type of temporary assistant, Felicity set out to prove Primrose was guilty. Thus began a chain of events, which were brilliantly written and which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This was a really funny and interesting story, with a great plot and some fantastic characters. I find stories like these are fun, but this one stands out from the rest as it includes some great input from a cat and a dog which results in hilarious consequences.
There is one scene in particular in the ladies restroom that had me choking with laughter.

I happily recommend this book as a highly entertaining, fast paced, laughter packed story which will satisfy the cozy mystery fans, and the comedy fans equally well.

This is another fun instalment in the Felicity Philips Investigates by a talented author that I just loved. This is such a great series because of the antics of the cat and dog, they were especially mischievous in this one. I think it also helps that Felicity can communicate with them and you can very easily picture your own pet answering back in the same snarky way. Felicity is a good main character although she isn't the best at playing amateur sleuth, it's a good job she has her trusted sidekicks. The mystery once again revolves around something to do with weddings and at book three it shows no sign of getting predictable or stale. I like the fact that the story all happens in one place because you are not getting distracted trying to imagine different locations and can concentrate on the mystery and humour. I can't wait for the next book because like before you get a little teaser of what's to come.
Felicity and her wedding planning team have the number one booth at the wedding fair. Where beating her arch rival to signing up new customers to pick her should be the top priority but when a freak accident accrues and one of the groom's dies, Felicity is convinced it was no accident and she knows just who was responsible. Can she prove it though? Her cat is more interested in catching a swan, her dog wants to help but with wedding cakes and clothing that make very good capes not even he turns out to be reliable and her niece is too busy making friends. That just leaves the way would Pi pirate to help but even be has other things on his mind. Can Felicity prove her rival is out to sabotage her chances of getting chosen to host the royal wedding? Or is she gravely mistaken?
I like the narrator and I am glad she seems to be the authors narrator of choice because she has done an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Aisle Kill Him

I love Steve Higgs' books! I began with Patricia Fisher and moved on to Albert and Rex, which is my favorite of his series' so far, and have recently begun reading Felicity's series. I love his books because A) they are fun, B) they include pets, & C) they are clean. There's no explicit sex, there's no profanity, and even the violence in the murder parts of the stories is not explicit. His books that I've read so far are just plain, simple, cozy mystery style stories and I appreciate that! I also appreciate the fact that he uses the animals in his stories to, in one way or another, help to solve the Mysteries! Not so much with Patricia's stories, but in the others we get to "hear" what they think! They're not just props, they are part of the story! In Felicity's books she can actually speak to and understand her pets, Buster the bulldog and Amber the Ragdoll cat! I laugh at Buster, and I roll my eyes at Amber! I'm sure the stories would be good even without them but in my opinion, they would not be the same without Buster and Amber. I suggest reading Mr. Higgs' stories in order, but just read them! I don't think you'll be sorry!!

Aisle Kill Him by Steve Higgs is the 3rd book in the Felicity Phillips investigates series. Wedding planner, Felicity Phillips has a booth at a prestigious bridal fayre when disaster strikes when a potential client is electrocuted at her stand. She is convinced that her stand had been sabotaged and initially suspects her arch-nemesis and rival Primrose Green but further alleged accidents have her investigating. Felicity is able to communicate with her pets Amber, a ragdoll cat and Buster the bulldog and is also supported by her ninja trained niece Mindy and P.I. Vince Slater, who is infatuated with her. Amber and Buster steal the show as always and the best part is the interaction between the animals. I also love the cross-overs and mentions of the authors other series. Lots of fun and very entertaining.

Every one of Mr. Higgs' books that I've read has been fun to read with amusing touches and entertaining characters. This one is the best in this series so far and that's hard to achieve. I'm not fond of Felicity; although Buster, Amber, Mindy, Justin and now Philippe are great. I suspected one of the victims...oops. The venue was a wedding fayre; something I've never attended. I lived far enough from both mother and mother-in-law that I felt I had to plan my own wedding. (Let's not discuss famous last words, please.) I didn't have a clue about wedding planners and wish I had, although it's been over 40 years since and it seems the marriage lasted in spite of it. I look forward to more wedding planning fun. Recommended.

My ARC arrived and instantly brought a smile to my face. Another mystery for Felicity when she attends an important wedding fayre. Trying to solve it involves letting her pets look for clues to back up her theories...............meaning chaos ensues. Their antics and banter had me in stitches. A totally enjoyable yarn. Serious when needed to be with characters to uplift, delight and infuriate. If you haven’t read the others in series don’t worry, you will still enjoy the story. I think this is my favourite one yet.

Felicity is at a wedding fair when a groom gets electrocuted next to her stall. Of course Primrose, who is Felicity’s nemesis is writhing in pleasure when she thinks this will ruin Felicity’s chances. Another mishap the next day almost kills the head of security, what is going on. Who is behind these attacks? Felicity thinks it’s the Event Organiser Melissa and tries to set a trap for her, though she couldn’t be further from the truth. Steve Higgs conquers again and his stories just get better and better. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Brilliant mischief

This is the 3rd book in the series and I am loving it especially the animals. I'm so glad I decided to persevere, after the first short story I wasn't sure but now I'm hooked. One chapter in particular I couldn't stop laughing and my other half thought I was cracking up. The storylines are always edge of the seat...ish....but I just love the characters and their interactions. Don't be put off by the cat and dog...They are so funny. Steve is one of the best storytellers ever and I have read thousands of books of many different genres. Please don't stop writing these stories light up my day.

Good mystery

It was well written and had a few humorous bits in it. I love mysteries with cats (or dogs) that can communicate with their owner, so this is the type of book I enjoy. What I don’t like is that the cat does not care about her owner (saying things like if Felicity died, she would just get someone else to take care of her) and also has no conscience about trying to kill the dog. I hope the cat will have a change of heart because it really takes away from my enjoyment of this series.

Unexpected Culprit
Convinced arch-rival, Primrose Green, is behind it, Felicity knows she will have to find the proof before she points the finger. That might not be that easy though. She needs to schmooze the top clients perusing the companies on show – if she doesn’t then Primrose will, and there’s the small matter of the royal wedding to consider – reputation is everything.
This in no way was the expected culprit. The person who was the suspect was the one who solved the mystery.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.

Wedding planner Felicity Phillips, her assistant Mindy, and her pets Buster and Amber are a part of a new series by Steve Higgs. Their adventures are fun. Who knew a wedding planner could be involved in so many crimes. While his series hasn’t yet caught my interest as much as the other series Mr. Higgs writes, I can feel it building momentum and I’m looking forward to the next book.

I received an AR copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Laughs abound

I've become a diehard fan of all Steve Higgs books. Felicity Phillips is the latest to capture my attention with Buster the dog and Amber the cat. I always learn something new in these books. This book takes us behind the scenes at the Wedding Fayre (Fair in USA speak). Cakes, dresses, etc. of course, but swans, doves and horses? Who knew. Lots of laughs. Good mystery. Time well spent.

Chocolate or Coffee?

I have never laughed as hard as I did when I came to the part in the story about Primrose Greene a very competitive wedding planner wondering if the snack in her purse was chocolate or.coffee. It was my favorite part in the book and I am still chuckling as I think about it. Tears were streaming down my face I was laughing so hard. You'll love this book. Lots of humor, as well as suitors for Felicity.

Felicity and her niece Mindy seem to be at it again. They have a booth set up in a London hotel for Felicity’s wedding planning business. Someone is killed right at their booth. Felicity is sure the person responsible is a woman who is her arch rival. So they set out to prove it. Felicity’s dog and cat get in on the investigating also. There’s a lot of humor throughout this fun cozy mystery! I listened to the audiobook and the narration was really good.

Perfect characters, perfect settings, and just the right dialogue to keep you intrigued and entertained by Felicity and her kick-butt niece and the ever charming Buster and Amber. Mr Higgs knows how to craft and present exciting and enjoyable stories. And I, for one, feel blessed to have found this remarkable, talented author. This is another of his superb adventures.
Very Highly Recommended.

not the best

At times it gets trite and too silly even for a cozy mystery. also, the cat is not like any cat I've ever owned. My cats are always protective towards me and many years ago I had a cat that would not allow anyone to approach my newborn twins without my specific permission. Yes they were independent. I really love my dogs and they really loved and tried to care for me.

Chaos reigns during the wedding fayre (fair) and of course Felicity, Buster, and Amber are right in the thick of it.  Trying to figure out who the murderer is, but as usual,  not quite getting it right.
Always fun to read a Higgs book as there's plenty to laugh at, and it always has interesting happenings.

Felicity, Buster, and Amber are on the case again at the wedding fayre. This story is well written, full of humor, and with plenty of twists and turns. I just don’t know how Steve Higgs keeps hitting them out of the park and giving us unique adventures every time! I can’t wait for the next one. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

While I don't like this series as much as the Patricia Fisher or Albert Smith ones, this book was quite fun. Felicity and her crew are at a wedding fair when accidents start to happen and her pets (at least one of them, an English boxer who imagines himself a super hero) create chaos while trying to help catch the killer.

Who knew doing a special gathering could be hard on your health?

Another really interesting and incredible story about what usually doesn't happen at this gathering! But then you still just try to follow the clues and who did what when where and still can't come up with the right answer. Poor Vince he really got more than he bargain for.

Another great reabd

I enjoyed the characters in the book. I was just a little disappointed in the sleuthing, but it all worked out. I do not want to say anything to ruin the ending. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

I like this author, have all his books, but sorry, this one was silly. Everyone is entitled to a stinker from time to time, and I'll keep reading and hoping for better in this series. A better choice is the Albert and Rex series.

If only you animals talked.

Felicity is a weeding planner and wanna be a mature detective. She can hear and communicate with her dig and cat, but so far her mystery solving attempts just miss the mark. Funny entertain stories.

The story is really great and I love the cat and dog characters, the reason this has got 2stars is the narrator on Audible. She is truly dreadful. I would have easily given this book 4 stars otherwise
