Until she struts into my distillery wearing those familiar red cowgirl boots.

Emmy Lou’s all grown up with the same wild that drew me to her still running in her veins.

But in a small town filled with old money, secrets don’t stay buried forever. Emmy Lou’s return for the truth has my protective instincts coming out to play and before long I’m trying to tame that wild once again.

2,5 🤔🤔⭐️s

The main characters had been apart for the last twelve years and their break up was bad. During this period Atlas didn’t do relationships and was having sex with 7 different women, one for each day of the week.
Should I be impressed??? 🙄

While he was portrayed as a strong and arrogant character, a few days later after Emmy Lou came back, he was declaring his love to her and this emotional development was very abrupt.

It was a romance suspense read, some scenes were dark and heavy, and had a few nice twists.
The writing style didn’t grip me and the development was choppy and not adequate.

5 star Review of Wild One (Kings Of Bourbon Falls #1) by Lynne Leslie

Lynne Leslie is a new author to me and what an introduction to her writing. Wild One is a second chance at love story that drew me in and quickly had me invested in Emmy Lou Graves and Atlas James’s story.

It’s been twelve years since Emmy left Bourbon Falls and Atlas behind. Now she is back, determined to find justice for a father wrongly convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. Atlas still harbors deep resentment for the way she left him broken hearted.

There is a good amount of romantic suspense throughout this book which kept me on the edge of my seat as I was reading.

The writing was strong, the story entertaining and I found myself totally invested in the story that Ms. Leslie wove. I enjoyed the characters which are well developed and easy to relate too.

The chemistry between them is just as steamy as it was twelve years ago, even though Emmy is determined to resist. Can Atlas put his feelings aside to assist Emmy to find the truth that has been buried for so long? Will his need to protect her override his feelings of betrayal?

This was an emotional story at times with elements of mystery, intrigue and suspense. The secondary characters were just as entertaining as Atlas and Emmy and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Emmy Lou is back in town after twelve years to prove her father's innocence. She had to leave when her father was accused of murdering a young girl. The town's bad boys are in for a fight. Atlas and Emmy Lou had a thing once but now they are on opposite sides. The problem is Emmy Lou is digging around the past and Atlas wants to protect her. A great second chance/romantic suspense read that pulls you right in and won't let go.

The first book in the Kings of Bourbon Falls brings Emmy and Atlas's story. The author does a great job pulling you in right from the start with this romantic suspense. She adds a cast of supporting characters to help bring the story around. It's a second chance romance with tons of emotions as well as all the intrigue and suspense. The chemistry between the couple is sizzling hot. It's well written with detailed scenes, moves fluidly and had me hooked from beginning to end reading. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Lynne Leslie will have you so hooked that you don’t even realize you have finished the book. Emmy and Atlas were destined to be together. You see if right from the opening pages and though their road to that hea wasn’t easy they made it. The secondary characters introduced are great. I can’t wait to read more about the Kings of Bourbon Falls. This story is full of suspense and will have you on a wild ride. It’s a must read.

Wild One is the first book in the new fantastic Kings of Bourbon Falls series.

It was also the first book that I’ve read by this author and I loved every word!

Wild One is an awesome second chance romance/romantic suspense that had me on the edge of my seat through each and every page.

Emmy Lou Graves was forced to leave her town of Bourbon Falls after her father was arrested for the murder of a young girl.

Twelve years later, Emmy Lou returns to find justice for her father after discovering evidence that he was wrongfully convicted.

Atlas James is one of the kings of Bourbon Falls along with his best friends. Each of their families are high society and are known for running the distillery. When Emmy Lou left Bourbon Falls, she left Atlas and shredded his heart. When Atlas finds out that Emmy Lou has returned his hatred for her comes back full force.

He never expected the words that Emmy Lou says when she struts into Atlas’ office but it makes him pause and rethink everything that has happened in his life.

The journey that this book takes you on is amazing! I can’t wait to read the next books in this series!

At the beginning of this book I absolutely hated Atlas. I was seriously doubting that my mind would change as I continued reading. Then the moment happened I was waiting for and Duggie was back and I fell in love with him like Emmy did.

Emmy is who I want to be when I grow up! She is a badass! She listens to her gut, doesn’t back down and refuses to be intimidated. Those are rare characteristics for a person to have. Everyone caves in at some point typically but she didn’t. She avenges the innocent regardless of how dangerous the situation could be. The bonds she forms with the friends and family in her life is what draws people to her and causes others to be jealous.

Hard truths come to light in this book. There are scenes that could be traumatic to read if you are a victim of violence. There are so many forms of violence in this book and I didn’t expect it but it proves it comes in many forms.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I’m sold on anything else to come!

When reading the synopsis I found myself craving this book. I had to read it. I had to find out what would happen. Like every good book you have your ups and downs. This book being no exception. But luckily for me there were more ups than the downs.

Duggie and Emmy Lou’s relationship was one I always dreamed of having growing up. The pure sexual chemistry was coming off of them in waves. The chemistry was perfect. They were both strong in their own ways and they gave that strength to one another when they needed it most.

The book was fast at times and slow at others. I felt as if the author wanted to fill some spots in the story line where it was not necessary. I felt as if she went into too much detail in some areas and not enough in others. I would have liked to see glimpses of their pasts. I would have liked more details where good prevailed over evil.

All in all this was a good book. I couldn’t put it down since I needed to know what would happen. Would Emmy Lou get the answers she was looking for? Would Duggie be able to open his heart again?

This book has everything. Super characters. A good interesting story. Intrigue. Sex and the opportunity to read upcoming stories from the rest of the characters in this book. Emmy Lou has loved Atlas James for ever but she left him with a broken heart and he swore never to fall in love again and just have sexy liasons. He and his four friends own a brewery which has been handed down from their fathers. Emmy Lou had to leave town after her father was accused of rape and murder of a young girl.. Years later she returns to clear her father but finds that Atlas hates her. This is a rather twisted story as there is something very wrong in the town. Murder intrigue is a major part of this story as well as the developing relationship between Emmy and Atlas. I really enjoyed this story and the twist at the end sent me reeling! What a good sexy story I was sorry it had to end. Cannot wait to read Deacon's story as well as Tucker and Reed. I totally recommend this book.

This book, these characters…do you have a time to read the whole book? Because you better as this story is too hard to put down once you start it. Everything that Ms. Leslie has written is gold in my opinion. I thought this was a book that I would get to the end without crying so hard I could not see…but damn it Lynne, you did it to me again but it was happy crying. There are characters from Skullz Inc., there are characters that I have been hoping for from the previous series that we have not gotten to read yet and there are new characters from future series. I am sitting on pins and needles. I need these books now. Back to this story, Atlas and Emmy Lou are destined to be together but life happens and when they are reunited (yay, second chance) it is explosive just the way I like it. And I love how Lynne puts in the anonymous voice chapters that will have you on the edge of your seat. I really loved reading Atlas and Emmy Lou’s road to a happily every after.

I received a complimentary copy from the author.

Lynne Leslie is a new author to me and what a great book to introduce me to her works .Wild One is book 1 in the Kings of Bourbon Falls it’s a second chance romance with amazing characters.
Emmy Lou Graves left Bourbon Falls twelve years ago when her father was accused of a crime he didn’t commit, she left a child but she is now back this time as a woman on a mission and that’s to clear her fathers name. Atlas and Emmy were childhood sweethearts and when she left she broke his heart and he still resents everything about her but what happens when they come face to face and she tells him his family may have been involved setting her father up .....will he believe the girl who walked away from him or is blood thicker than water. It’s a very fine line between love and hate .......
This is an emotional read that’s full of mystery, intrigue and suspense so once you add in the love and passion you get an all round great read. The chemistry is sizzling, the characters are strong and easy to connect with and I’m looking forward to book 2 in the series.

This first book in the Kings of Bourbon Falls has me utterly and totally addicted to these men and the women who will steal their hearts. Wild One is a second chance romance between Atlas and Emmy Lou. Their story is heartbreaking, gritty and absolutely captivating. This romance is packed full of suspense, intrigue, secrets and a sizzling passion between two people who should never have been separated. As their story starts to unfold you will be kept on the edge of your seat, your mind will be reeling and you will be second guessing everyone to seek the answers you need. Atlas and Emmy Lou will show us that 12 years might have passed but sometimes the heart doesn’t care. As the lines between love and hate blurred for these two one thing was certain, destiny would scale the walls they had built to ensure that it was fulfilled. As I get to the final line in their story my finger tips are tingling in anticipation for the next book in this compelling series.

This book is fantastic, there are strong alpha males, sassy and determined woman, a mystery that needs to be unraveled no matter the cost and a love to be reignited. Honestly this book has it all you, you don't know if you can trust all of the new generation running the Bourbon Falls distillery or what Emmy Lou is going to turn up while digging into what happen all those years ago, then your hoping she and Atlas will actually talk about the past so they can get over it and find a new them as we all know they want each other still. The flow of the book is fantastic and how it evolves not only with Emmy Lou and Atlas but with the dark under belly of Bourbon Falls and how far it is spread. This is a book I will read again prior to the next book coming out so I can immerse myself in their world even longer!!! 😍

Wild One is the first book by Lynne Leslie that I have read and I can definitely say I am now a fan. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style, her characters and this storyline. This book is a fantastic second chance romance, riddled with intrigue and suspense with characters I desperately wanted to find their happily ever after. Wild One is the first book in her new King’s of Bourbon Falls series and I am looking forward to what is coming next.
Emmy Lou and Atlas had a special friendship and connection from when they were young. As they grew older they thought they would be together forever but one event changed all that. Now, Emmy is back in town to prove the innocence of her wrongly accused father. This town and the people have been keeping secrets so take a chance and read this book for yourself to see what secrets are being covered up and what happens when they unravel.

🥃🥃🥃Wild One🥃🥃🥃

Wow wow, I am so glad I gave this author a chance. I could not for the life of me get why it took so long. Atlas and Emmy Lou are childhood sweethearts, tragedy strikes by separating for 12 long years. Betrayals took a huge advantage of their love, they may have been young but they knew they were each other's one. They realized they had to let go the hurt, the pain, and the anger they felt towards each other for them to finally received that love they had for each other again. Emmy Lou is sassy, independent and very headstrong, she never gave up on finding out the truth regardless of how Atlas felt. No one else can ever take these two on, they're only made for each other, they have that once in a lifetime all consuming type of love. I really enjoy this book, author Lynne Leslie did a phenomenal job on this 🥃🥃🥃

This book is a fantastic ride and I didn’t want to get off! The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing. We meet Atlas and Emmy Lou when they were both young and they have a tumultuous relationship from the start. But it develops into young love and when Emmy Lou is forced to leave something in Atlas breaks. When she comes back years later they both thought that they had moved on but first love don’t go away that easily. The chemistry is still off the charts between the two and Emmy Lou fights it as long as she can whilst Atlas wants to give in from the first time he saw her back. Emmy Lou is back with a mission and she enlists Atlas and the other Kings help in trying to clear her father’s name. Will she be successful or will the prestige and pedigree of the rich in the town stand in her way? Will Atlas stop hating Emmy Lou long enough for them to be able to work together? I can’t wait to see how all of the kings of Bourbon Falls stories play out!!

I LOVED Atlas and Emmy Lous story!! Once again Lynne Leslie does not disappoint! Once I got started I couldn't put it down, I just HAD to know what was going to happen next. I loved how a couple characters from previous books showed up, it kinda gave that feel of knowing what they're up to now. I also loved all the new ones introduced here. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that one character in this book I felt like I didn't get complete closure on but with this being a series, I'm sure we will get that closure. This book had it all....I laughed, got mad and at times had to wipe a few tears. A MUST READ!!

Atlas and Emmy Lou grew up together and knew they were always meant to be. When tragedy strikes forcing her to leave him behind their love and lives are shattered.
When she comes back 12 years later she once again shatters all they've known and discovers shocking truths. Seeing each other only cements their love and shows them its only growing with every day. Is love enough to push them through what's a head?

Holy cow. Wild One blew my mind. I wasn't sure what to expect with this one when I started reading it. It hit me front and centre from the very first paragraph and had me going through so many emotions. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat an OMG the twist. Wow Wow Wow. I wasn't expecting that. A fair warning, this is not an easy read, may cause triggers. However, if you can stick with it, it is worth reading. I cannot cannot wait for more of the Kings of Bourbon Falls, especially Deacon's book.

This was the first book I've read by this author, and will certainly check out more.

In Wild One, we meet Emmy Lou and Atlas. They had a strong connection when they were young, and things happened leading to heartache.

Emmy Lou is back, and digging for answers. As a courtesy she goes to warn Atlas. You can feel the connection they try to deny, all while the hurting continues. I loved the connections between the characters, the mystery in this book, and the thrill as they tried to find the answers.

I look forward to learning more about these Kings of Bourbon Falls.

This is the heavy story of a couple who should have always been together. Life tears them apart. Now, they come together again. A bitter man and a tough woman. Can they face their differences and traumas and come out together? This is a very deep story that draws you in, but there could be triggers for some.

Book one in the Kings of Bourbon Falls series a well written story and I want to read the next book in this series. This is Atlas Duggar James and Emmy Lou Graves' second chances at love after her being gone that long. I enjoyed this sentence that was in the book "Destiny. A simple word, yet one that’s so damn powerful." I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Dark intense, and one powerful story, with a shock factor of epic proportions, Emmy Lou left Atlas 12 years ago when her world crashed down, as her father was sent to prison for a crime she was sure he didn't commit, now she is back what will Atlas do when he sees Emmy Lou. This is amazing, the scenarios will leave you feeling.

Wild One is the first book in the Kings of Bourbon Falls series and is a fabulous start to this new series.

The characters are well developed, likable, and have a past together, but can they have a future? This romantic suspense story is well written and compelling, keeping me interested from start to finish, with drama, heartbreak, suspense, intrigue, and a second chance for romance.

Wow

This book was so good, and the underlying story was brilliantly well thought out.

I wasn't keen on Atlas, and think Emmy Lou needs a medal for putting up with him. But in no way did he distract from the story. In fact in some parts it added to it, cause you wanted to hear him apologise... AGAIN!

Can't wait to read book 2.
