We read this book just a couple chapters at a time during family meeting. The first few chapters are a bit questionable, but they allowed us to discuss strange racial views prevalent in the 1940s. Aside from a few worldview issues, this was a FABULOUS overview of history. Highly recommend.

A delightful read for homeschooled children. I agree with other reviewers: it is terribly outdated now and has questionable racial views. I had to censure at times. But in the context of when it was written, a good read.

Finally finished this one. Read-aloud during morning-time! Outdated for a geography book, and awful perspective at times, but well-written and fun, like Child’s History of the World.
