At long last, the weakest hero candidate awakens his true power! Last we saw Ren and the gang, they had prepared to power-level the cowardly Kokoru, only to find that all the good grinding spots were taken! This time around, Hell's Crafters gains access to a brand-new airship thanks to Kotomi and her amazing brain. With this secret weapon, they find a revolutionary new way to grind! To top it all off, Ren's passion for data finally bears fruit when he uncovers a repeatable trick to summon a Golden Bunny, the king of experience points!
This is the first volume of the series that I did not particularly like. Although it has 50+ pages from the other (2-3) with 9 chapters, it is lacking, in my opinion, breaks from the constant game play. Ren, main character, supposedly has an atypical way to win and conquer in this VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that they "play" in the Game School that he is going to with Akira, Yuuna, Kotomi, and now the rest of the retinue-harem-like team, that the author has composed. The group because of high scores on the semester tests, earn the right to a flying vessel. They use this vessel constantly to fight other teams in a contest. The author does a constant info-dump (style) every time Ren's team defeats an enemy. (Instead of summarizing how many defeated at the end of each encounter, the loot received and the points scored). So it does get kind of tiring to read, over and over again. I feel the author has somehow lost a story compass, and does not know how to continue this "redefining the Meta" series. Supposedly it should be about finding the atypical (abnormal/irregular) different path toward success and victory. But so far, the story includes most tropes, most clichés and is closer to the rest of the light novel stories, than burning a path in a road that has not been taken...
