Bernardo Gomes de Brito (born in Lisboa, 20 May 1688 - died after 1759) was a portuguese historian and scholar.
He is known by compiling a two-volume collection of narrative accounts of the travails and wrecks of several Portuguese ships, mainly going to India between 1552 and 1602, and the oft-harrowing stories of their survivors. The collection became known as 'História Trágico-Marítima' (Tragic History of the Sea).
