The first chapter was just so creepy and so atmospheric. Loved the story in this, pirates and bargains . The slow burn and tension between the characters was perfectly executed.

Another fantastic read from Rebecca Grey! Yet again she has created a captivating world with two very intriguing MC’s that have their own POV chapters and It is beautifully written.

Millicent acker aka Millie is head strong and an adventurer at heart who takes joy in debunking myths, legends and supernatural sightings in her home town of Himond, much to the disgust of her parents. Millie finds her life stifling and hates her towns traditional views on how a woman should live and behave. She wants to escape the expectations placed on her.

Rumi Williams is lonely and depressed with the work his must do to serve his father. All he longs for is a companion. One that would choose him at the end of their service rather than leave and forget. Even though Rumi is intimidating, mysterious and can be scary, deep down he has a heart of gold.

In desperation Millie seeks out Rumi to help her find her missing brother Boston and they strike a deal and immediately set sail. Millie has never felt so free and Rumi hasn’t been drawn to anyone the way he is towards Millie.

This is a wonderful story filled with adventure and love. I am looking forward to reading what comes next in the Brothers of the Otherworld Standalone Series.
Thank you, Rebecca, for a truly amazing read!

A fun short romantic little read!

A little less steamy than I was expecting but the slow burn between our mcs, Millie and Rumi was relentless and exciting. Cue me yelling at them to get together for most of the book.

On top of the spell binding romance, the plot will have your heart in ruins, as everyone is trying to do their best by the people they love, but ending up tripping over each other in the process. Magical deals always have a price people!!

I would absolutely love to revisit this world soon, the role of magic is fascinating and we get hints of others like Rumi who’s stories I would love to know as well.

Rebecca Grey never disappoints :) looking forward to more from her soon!

I absolutely loved this book, from start to finish! The whole concept behind the story is so unique and complex, so different to other stories out at the moment! It was not a huge read which is also good because some times you do not have that time, but it really kept me entertained from start to finish. The only thing I would say is at times I felt like it was a little rushed, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of reading the story! I loved the MCs, they are both unique and captivating. I would love to read more from this universe. Highly recommended read by a very talented author!

Full discloser: I was given an ARC of this book with the request of a full and unbiased review. I was a little skeptical at first because I'm not super into pirates myself. However, I found that the relationships are what really steal the show in this book. Our protagonist, Millie, is a young woman that you can't help but to love. She's independent, loyal, and can't stand the thought of being another run-of-the-mill proper housewife. Needless to say, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book, but Rebecca Grey had me hooked from the start. I loved it!

So good!

This is not a sweet love story. This is a dark, heart wrenching story of a girl who loves her brother enough to go to the ends of the earth the find him. It’s about a demon who wants to find a shred of humanity. It’s the dance of self acceptance, rebellion, and love. I need more of this world.

Amazing short dark romantic read! Pirates and otherworldly. Loved the banter between Millie and Rumi. Strong MC who knows what she wants is my type of girl! Wish there was more but alas it’s a standalone. Great book for in between series.

Had a lot of fun reading this book! It's only around 150 pages long which is shorter than mainstream fantasy books, but the author has done a great job with the world-building *and* the character development. A gripping and intriguing read 🤍 I'm excited to read more books in this series!

I loved Chasing Boston! It’s a fantasy book with romance (more specifically, enemies-to-lovers). It’s fast-paced and a page-turned. It’s also a small book (less than 150 pages) so it’s a quick read! And finally, Chasing Boston is a standalone indie book!
