Music had always gotten Sarabeth through the struggles of her life. When she sat behind a piano, it was her at her purest form. Too many tragedies caused the once overused piano keys to collect dust. She was no longer the singing canary that her father always called her.Sarabeth didn’t know if she would ever be able to use her voice again, but then came Logan, who sat next to her in their English seminar; the cocky guy with his own fair share of tragedies that he was trying to run away from. Can these two help each other break free of the scars that imprisoned them, or would they end up like Romeo and Juliet?
Zachary Ryan grew up in a black-and-white box in Maryland, before moving to Chicago to start a new life. There, he found that he was accepted for his misfit status—and learned that it’s perfectly normal to spend your twenties feeling lost and confused.
After a disastrous sexual encounter, Ryan stumbled on a group of true friends, or “soul cluster,” that he connected with. Through his writing, he hopes to help other broken souls out there find comfort amid the chaos.
I have never related to a book so hard in my life. First of all, this book made me cry like a baby by the end of it. When I first started it, I did not see that coming. Second, I related to Sarabeth so much: dealing with loss, being in a sorority and not loving it at times, and having my own demons to deal with. If it wasn't for the many grammatical errors in this book, I would give it the full five stars.
The beginning of the book took me a lot to get through. I kept on putting it down hoping it would get better. It took me weeks to get through the beginning. But I finished the second half in a day.
I loved Logan and Sarabeth, and loved them both together. The tragedy of the book had me crying real tears I couldn't keep in. And the complex relationships all felt so real and human.
Although it took me a while to get into this book, I'm glad I read it now. This is definitely one of my favorites, although I don't know if I could ever read it again. It hurt the hell out of me, but it was worth it.
If you're looking for something real and human, with an emotional center, I highly recommend this book. I promise you won't regret it. My only hope is that this book gets bigger than it is right now. It deserves it.
"Playlist" is a romantic novel written by Zachary Ryan, where music and romance come together to form a story like few others. Music is an art, which is part of the lives of many people, as is the case of Sarabeth; it helped her overcome many moments of her life. She meets Logan, a boy who sat next to her at an English seminar. I found this book incredible, not only because of the original plot, but also because at the beginning of each chapter, the author includes the title of a song, which, in my opinion, matches perfectly with the content of the chapter. I highly recommend this reading.
Zachary Ryan is the author of this original novel called “Playlist”, where he beautifully combines love and music to create an authentic piece.
The writer crosses the complicated lives of two complex characters, named Sarabeth and Logan. These characters have two things in common: a troubled background and a passionate love for music. Together, they get ready to leave the past and fears behind and start a loving life.
I found this novel original because each chapter has a different title, with the name of popular songs. These songs are brightly connected to the story and give rhythm to the writing.
“Playlist” is an inspiring novel which taught me the importance of resilience. It tells the story of Sarabeth, who gave up singing and playing the piano after many obstacles and bad things she went through, and when she met Logan, she thinks that life is giving her another chance. But Logan has his own scars. Will they be able to help each other and give their love an opportunity?
This middle-length piece of writing is beautifully written because the author did an amazing job with the plot and the development of the story. In fact, I really liked the witty and sarcastic personality of Longan.
For all these reasons, I highly recommend this amazing read!
This is a romantic novel with some drama that I really enjoyed reading. Playlist has a lot to do with music and portrays the importance of music in people’s lives. With this read we get to know Sarabeth and Logan, two people with different scars that come together, maybe to heal each other. The author described these two characters very well. I could certainly empathise with them both, but especially with Sarabeth. I read this story quite quickly and ended up with a sense of wanting something more, but I truly liked reading it. The narrative flows smoothly and reads quite fast, something I enjoy in a book. I recommend reading it!
