More hyper hyped Gantz adventure as they players struggle to survive in their warped reality. Can the couple ever be reunited? There are also huge changes for Gantz itself. And just 'cos the creators are so great at creating them we get some new wonderfully dark alien threats on top of the dominant Giant race. I can't believe that over 330 chapters (33 volumes!) in I am completely enthralled by this monstrous speculative fiction work. 8 out of 12 Four Star jam.

At the start of this series I had trouble catching my breath keeping up with the unrelenting action, thrills, and shocks. In the closing arc, I'm still having trouble catching my breath, but now it's because I'm laughing so hard at the sheer ridiculousness of the gonzo plot developments.

I mean this book dares to make tumors funny.

I cannot wait to see how goofy this gets before it ends. I start the final volume tomorrow!

As I expected, things got a little out of the rails. I already felt this in the last volume, but here was much more noticeable.

It's like Hiroya is dumping all the things he wanted to do for this series in the last volumes at 2x the speed of pacing.

There are a lot of epic battles and new characters introduced. The problem is that everything is happing so quickly, one after the other, that there is no time to create a solid structure behind these events and characters. Everything feels kinda hollow even though it's cool to look at.

Some of these characters look very cool and have great potential but there is pretty much zero character development.

There is no breathing room between epic battles and the adversaries are craziest than the ones before.

It's still a solid read but not as good as other volumes.

With 1 more volume to go, I don't expect this to improve but I hope, at least, for a solid end.

the action scenes are becoming hard to follow and there are a lot of them.
I am glad this is soon over because I am already over Gantz.
As soon as I read the next volume I think I will resell all my Gantz omnibus..

Last two volumes have just been pure adrenaline, as the Gantz crew is forced to face their biggest opponent yet. Kurono and co. just can’t catch a break ever. You’d never guess where this story gets to.

Idk if it’s just me but I’m having a hard time following some of the things going on here. Also, there’s no way that guy was just 20 years old…

All things considered, it's managed to be somewhat entertaining. Let's see how it all wraps up.

Harrowing as all hell. I kind of miss the early Gantz days when it seemed a little, I don't know, more contained, but you gotta give it to 'em, this shit is nuts.

Hiroya Oku continues his story of Gantz with the teams fighting the aliens who ate abducting humans from earth. Kei continues to search for his true love, Tae. There were lots of gruesome deaths and naked humans throughout this volume. Kei finds Tae in the end.

The art has just been getting worse and the fights more confusing. I still like everything else around it, and it's cool to see the story progress and finish. Also pretty cool to experience the alien side of things. And the whole metaphor, that it is exactly the same we humans do to animals, its still strong. But I just wish the enemies weren't riddled with so much bad cgi and the fights less confusing and cooler, like gantz used to be.

The story is off the rails. The stuff with the alien invasion is ok, and some of the art is cool, but the character development here is gone. And the story is garbage. Three stars for some decent art, and the beginning of the aliens coming down and the actual start of this omnibus. It just loses steam here and there.

I've seen lots of people say the final arc of Gantz is one of it's weakest, but the stakes are so much higher now and the art is amazing as always. Can't wait to see how it ends!
