When a smooth operator attacks one of Sienna's friends, she is drawn into a scheme of terror run by one Fortune Renard. Smooth and debonair, Renard seems to be everything Sienna has been lacking in her life.
Except the whole supervillain thing. She's had plenty of those cross her path.
But everything is not as it seems with Renard, and with every turn and escalation of his plan, Sienna is left wondering - is Renard a villain? An ally? Or is he after something else entirely?
Robert J. Crane was born and raised on Florida's Space Coast before moving to the upper midwest in search of cooler climates and more palatable beer. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Creative Writing. He worked for a year as a substitute teacher and worked in the financial services field for seven years while writing in his spare time.
Sienna Nealon seems to have found her groove running on a fairly level plane of existence until a new suave looking guy announced that he was to be her new challenge of metahuman announcing to the world he is the next Super Villain. It turns out that Mister Bad Guy is playing a very long game involving subplots from previous cases going back years. How Sienna pieces the subplots into a cohesive whole makes this tale very enjoyable. Throw in MI6, FBI, CIA and possible Chinese world domination into the mix, our heroine finds she must solve global intrigue just to take another breath sometimes even in outer space (reminding me of F9 a recent movie – another hint Robert). Just another day at the office for Sienna. Great job Mr. Robert J. Crane. Worthy of the highest praise. Very clean easy to follow along.
Before Sienna has a pack of rescue dogs to rival the Dog Whisperer?
Brilliant addition to the series, this book sees Sienna facing off against Fortune Renard a self proclaimed super villain. He’s an absolute charmer playing the role of gentleman thief to the max. He’s also an outrageous flirt, but he’s holding his plans close to his chest until he chooses to reveal all.
In what seems like a game of cross country tag, Sienna is definitely on the case. Although she never expected just how far she would have to go to get the job done.
So, this is what the calm before the storm feels like. I mean, look, we all know that this relatively sane period isn't going to last, especially with the changes we see from this book. But I'm enjoying it.
There is still a "bad" guy, naturally. And new improved Sienna is still working out the kinks.
But there is still a lot in this. Just not at a frenetic pace. And some... stuff... thrown in that may give you pause.
I worry about what the next book will bring. There's a lot of threads in the air.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
RJC has outdone himself once again! I loved every minute of this book! As usual Sienna’s maturity filled me with pride. Sienna has grown tremendously since Meltdown and she is not as quick to anger. Fortune Renards has to be one of my favourite villains. I found him charming and sophisticated but very unpredictable. The banter between Sienna and himself was hilarious! Even though he was the villain, I could see them as a potential couple! I also hope that we'll find out what happened to Harry and the last book left me very curious.
Sienna is not perfect, and when faced with a truly formidable foe will lose her fight if someone isn’t there to help her a bit, but with that said, she is what we would enjoy in real life… a person wanting better for our country and the world! These days democrats spread hate any way they can. We were on a our way to a better country with Trump, but then the Barbour of this world cheated his way in! Looking forward to the next book! Will be sad when the series ends.
I’m hooked. I read every single book as soon as it’s released and I’ll often go back and read them again later. I just wish I didn’t have to wait so long in between books!!
Sienna is a compelling and complex character that, even though she burns hot and cold … you can’t help but love her.
Thank you for this series; thoroughly recommended.
I love every single sienna book, I mean every one is fun to read. This one more of the same but one thing, while I got it i still am left with a funny feeling like this is not over, I just wish maybe it had ended differently? Maybe it's just me. Anyways, loved loved reading it, as with all of this series i anxiously await the release of the next in the series!!!
I have to say this book was really unexpected as far as the plot. I enjoyed reading it because it wasn’t like her usual villains. I kind of felt bad for Fortune Renard at the end. But all in all it was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait for the next installment
Will love ever be in the cards for Sienna? I am actually still thinking of the last book with the comatose ex. This book definitely showed a softer side of Sienna. Evil villains thwarted again. Let's hope there is so much more in store.
I love sienna and I really felt sad for her in this book. I was hoping to see what was up with Harry but there was no mention of him in this book. Great as always Robert! Look forward to the next one.
As always books about Sienna are totally kittens! This one was so good. I do realllllly wish we would find out whats going on with Harry. Thats making me a little nuts not knowing after the last book. Cant wait till the next in the series tho! Love that Mr Crane keeps pumping out the Sienna books!
This may be my favorite one so far! I love seeing Sienna grow into such a wonderful full character. The bad guy was awesome too. It was nice to see it all work out so well.
I'm finding it harder and harder to come up with more praise than "awesome" for the Sienna Nealon stories. But...this was just as good, if not better, than the other books in the series.
As all of the books in this series have been it was a roller coaster ride trying to figure out which direction the story was going to go as I read and was blind-sided at every turn. Fantastic story line with many surprises from beginning to end.
The stories never cease to amaze. You can always relate and feel for the characters. You are always surprised by the plot and begging for more. This author is an under appreciated genius of his trade.
I'm a hard grader. I've read every book in this series, and I will continue to read the new ones. But I won't go back and re-read. If I did, then I'd give it five stars
Addicted to the girl in the box !!! I have read every-book im on 46 and hope they don't end i want a happy ending for her i want to watch her get rich and people love her she is a true hero!!
Sienna goes head to head with a charming villain for a change. Her life and relationships are evolving. Still holding out for a love story for our girl.
Much more cohesive than many of these books, but without spoilers I will simply say I did guess the actual goal rather early. Still, a very good add to GitB.
Mr. Crane did not disappoint. This was another page turner and I’m intrigued and eagerly awaiting to see what he has up his sleeve next for our heroes…
