I've read quite a few books of this genre by Agatha Christie, John Dickson Carr, and others, and I'm usually fairly good (well, let's say that once in a while I'm successful) at figuring out who the murderer is, but here I was completely stumped. This is a very cleverly written story that keeps you interested all the way. The author has taken great care to describe the criminal investigative details and the minutiae behind genetic scientific research and the writing is never over the head of the reader. Detailed description of the interior of buildings and rooms and weather conditions is also excellent. But aside from the ending as my favorite part I was also highly impressed with Widdowson's writing when it comes to the murder itself. Concisely written, this very vivid scene leaves you quite stunned. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I loved this book. The role of each character being carefully developed made me not want to put it down. Descriptions of Washington and Texas were spot on creating word pictures which is a talent I appreciate. So thankful Teresa finished RH Factor. I find myself looking forward for yet another book. Congratulations Teresa.

This was a GREAT read! Chapters that are super concise yet filled with detail that bring the location and inner life of all the characters alive. Enough detail of the medical aspect and police work to be credible and still completely understandable for the layperson. On top of that had humor and insight and honest human connection. Held my attention, had me guessing about the murderer and rooting for certain characters.

I love a good murder mystery and this was one of my favorite whodunnits. I read for entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed going through the story trying to decide who the murderer was. I would narrow it down to one of the characters and then change my idea as the story moved along.
I found the main characters, Pax and Regina, interesting. Their relationship was not perfect and it made them more believable.
It was nice that the chapters were not lengthy, so I could stop at the end of a chapter when I had to close my Kindle and go back to my day. When I did have to put it down, I could not wait to pick it back up and continue following the detective's hunt for the villain.
I cannot wait to read Teresa Widdowson's next book. She is a clever author and her writing is fun to read.

Good murder mystery that kept me guessing who did it all the way to the end. Filled with lots of details of the Pacific Northwest. Definitely worth your time.

Good story

First book I'm reading from TW. I liked the story. Characters were engaging, had the right amount of drama and who done it sprinkled with a tups of romance. Found some of the writing a little juvenile in some areas especially the over use of ending a sentence with ... said Pax or said Regina. But other than that I would come back for another book to see how things develop.

Although murder-mysteries are not my usual fare, I really enjoyed this one and stayed up too late reading it on more than one occasion. Widdowson creates and maintains suspense, employing engaging, relatable and interesting characters, and wrapping up the tale with a wonderfully surprising plot twist. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to her future writings!

Okay, well, of course I'm partial because I wrote it. :) But I'm pretty proud of it, especially since it's my first murder mystery and most of the readers so far seem to like it.

I love combining medical technology with murder and am a big fan of these kind of books. Really enjoyed doing all the research for this book and hope that others will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Engaging Read - Good Entertainment

Having spent some time in the Redmond area, it was a pleasure to imagine the settings of the action. A good balance of facts and well-developed characters, it was a fun read.
