I warned her to stay away from me. She should have listened.
I told Chloe Kingstrom that getting close to me would be dangerous, and she should keep her distance. The moment she disobeyed and followed me into that bar, she became mine.
Now my enemies are after her, but it’s not what they would do to her she should worry about.
It’s what I’m going to do to her.
My belt across her bare backside will teach her obedience, but what comes after will be different.
She’s going to blush, beg, and scream with every climax as she’s ravaged more thoroughly than she can imagine. Then I’m going to flip her over and claim her in an even more shameful way.
If she’s a good girl, I might even let her enjoy it.
Publisher’s Note: Bratva’s Captive includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
Oh yeah this is a marvellous Bratva story and it is a really satisfying story that I loved and I think you will feel the same. It has a lot of action and it has a number of steamy scenes that all make for a really good story since there is a lot of good dialogue between the H and h in the course of the story as well. At the end there is a particularly great HEA that I loved as well.
Full on course with delicious deceptive dastardly characters that will rip you to shreds while you beg them to do their worst! Ah this was one of those books that grab you and hold on until you have nothing left to give then they strike and strike hard. Explosive is an understatement! This thing goes super nova quick like and there is no stopping it! I am loving the darkness and the peephole of light. Sometimes doing the right thing entails doing something very wrong to achieve it. This story will light your kindle on fire and blow you away! Get ready to hunker down with Chloe and Nikolai and the suspense these two are in for! Cut off those lights pick your most comfy seat and plop right down there and begin the journey with these two wonderful characters. You will not be sorry that you did.

Bratva's Captive covers some great romance tropes- it's a taboo professor/student age-gap dark romance with some milder elements of dub con. It's a shorter book but overall a decent length and has some really great chemistry between Nikolai and Chloe.

this is a very dark read that will have you hooked from the very first page to the very ending. This is a dark and steamy read that will have you panting through out this hot read

The beginning sucks you in and you're so thrilled but somewhere along the way I became lost. Great read but it just felt so rushed to give a HEA as if the author was more focused on word count and submission deadlines. Chloe had moments i wanted to strangle her lol. I wouldn't knock the book in its entirety so please feel free to give it a chance for yourself.

We have a prologue and then jump to sometime in the future. I personally don’t like the professor student trope so that aspect really didn’t appeal to me. The mafia trope had some could twists and turns and definitely wasn’t your usual fare. I just thought there was too much left unexplained and you had to fill in that part as the reader.

This was another fantastic book by Piper Stone on the Bratvas. Bratva's Captive is dark mafia romance. It's intriguing, dramatic, suspenseful, and fast pace. This is about Nicholai and Chloe story. Chloe Kingston is a student of Waltham University. Chloe was kicked out of her parents house in North Carolina for siding with her drug addict brother. She did a couple of odd jobs for two years to save up for college. She's also a waitress Milly's a local diner in town. Chloe works hard because she's a struggling student who lives alone and pays her own tuition. She's a beautiful redhead, spitfire, feisty, innocent, and strong. Nicholai Lenkov is living a double life. He's the professor of the university that Chloe attends and teaches Russian Studies. He's the adopted son of Maxim Federov the ruthless Russian Pakhan in Bratva. Nicholai is also member in the Bratva. Nicholai was living on the street fighting bullies just for a scrap of food. Maxim saw him in the street one day after he beat up six bullies. He gave him some money and sent him on his way but Nicholai stayed watched as he dealt with baker. He was fascinated by the gruesome act and that was the day it all changed for him. He went from Nicholai to Sacha Federov. Maxim saw something in Nicholai and took him under his tutelage. Nicholai was taught all the ways of the Bratva and over the years he had developed a reputation across Russia known as the Butcher. He was blond, built, tattooed, merciless, cunning, savage and heartless. Nicholai fled to America after the murder of his dad and that's when he became professor Nicholai Lenkov. But he was always on edge waiting for a rival Bratva to come and finish war that started in Russia decades ago. Nicholai was the hot and mysterious professor that all the students had a crush on. He never acted on it nor had a relationship in all the years that he had been in the state. However, he was attracted to Chloe and would watch her in class. One day Nicholai went to the diner and some guys were hassling Chloe at another table groping her and and making rude comments. They wanted him to heard. The guys attacked Chloe in the parking lot after work to abduct her but Nicholai stepped in and saved her that's when she knew that there was more to the professor. It was in that moment Nicholai two worlds collided the Petrov Bratvas had found him. Nicholai told Chloe to stay away from him because it was dangerous but she was so drawn to him she would not listen. But Chloe was stubborn and head strong. Now she is caught in the middle of something that she doesn't understand her life is in danger and she now have to abandon everything that she built for herself and goes on the run with Nicholai. Bratva's Captive was high octane, action packed, and addictive. It filled with passion, deception, revelations, retaliation, rivalry, vengeance, violence, torture, mayhem, abduction, betrayal, secrets, spanking, dirty talking, age gap noir, attacks, and love. There was so much chemistry between these two it was explosive. I loved that the author gave us a back story on both of these characters. My only complaint was I thought Chloe was very childish and time that I almost walk away from the book because of her behavior. She knows that they're are in danger and being hunted, hell their constantly getting shot at but yet she constantly runs away wasting Nicholai time to chase her. I just wanted him to leave her. But I'm glad that they got their HEA in the end.

I have read Piper Stone before. In my opinion, this book is not as dark as some of her other novels that she states are dark.
The couple in this book is Chloe Kingstrom and Nikolai Lenkov. This is a student and professor type of relationship with a kinky twist. However, I felt like their connection was not elaborated enough. It was more of a how do I feel about this situation the entire book versus how do I feel about this person. There are holes in their relationship. Also, this book leaned more towards the male than the female. There was more of Nikolai's character development than there was of Chloe.
In this book, Nikolai had run from his past and remained in the shadows for a quaint life. Chloe is his student, but gets dragged into Nikolai's problem. It's your past catching up to you. The plot was not a cliche storyline. However, there could have been more. The book was written from a dual point of view, Nikolai and Chloe.
The "romance" steam was steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. If you have never read Piper Stone before, you will be shocked by the quality and the quantity of the steamy scenes. However, if you have read Piper Stone, the scenes are more romantic than what is typically written. In comparison, the scenes remind me of The Notebook with an edge of 50 Shades Of Gray.
The ending of the book tied the book together and the character's conflicts were addressed. Personally, I think it was a sweet ending.
With that being said, I give the book a 4 out of 5. It was sweet, romantic with a side of adrenaline.
With thanks.

“Bratva’s Captive” is a mafia romance by Piper Stone that involves a man existing in two worlds, and the college student/waitress who becomes deeply involved in both.
Nikolai teaches Russian history at the university where Chloe is a student. She and her friends in the class are enamored of his good looks, and they imagine what he’d be like in an intimate relationship. Chloe works as a waitress in a diner, constantly struggling to survive and pay tuition. One night the professor is at the diner and rescues her from a rough group of men. She’d already known that Nikolai was from Russia, but she didn’t realize that he was a member of the Russian mafia. Now, his past is gunning for him and she is caught right in the middle of the mess. He decides he has to dominate her in order to protect her; she must unquestioningly obey him so he can keep her safe. Their connection is not quite insta-spark because they’ve been checking one another out all semester. The story is intense and suspenseful. There is some domestic discipline and initially there is dubious consent.
I liked the overall premise of the book. Some of the twists and turns were excellent. I also did like the final ending very much. My main issue with the story was that several key events were very briefly mentioned but not depicted, which made it feel incomplete. Nikolai has to go back to Russia to resolve some issues and some critical action occurs there, but instead of experiencing it we later find out that things happened. It made the ending feel rushed for me and vaguely unsatisfying. This is still a good book, but if the author ever chooses to go back and expand the last third, it would be a great book.

This story was a little different than what I am used to. You barely see stories where a person has walked away from the Bratva and led another life. This is the story of Nikolai and Chloe. Nikolai was “adopted” by Maxim Federov (Pakhan of the Russian Bratva) while he was still a boy living on the streets in Russia and was given a new name Sacha Federov. Maxim treated him as his own and molded him into a warrior. He is dark, dangerous, sexy, and mysterious. After his father (Maxim) was killed, Nikolai left Russia and came to the United States under his real name (Nikolai Lenkov) where he became a college professor teaching Russian Studies. Chloe is an older college student taking Professor Lenkov’s class. She was kicked out of her parents’ house and had to fend for herself for many years, so she started working at Milly’s Diner and saving money so she could go to college. She is feisty, strong, and a little naïve. On the last day of classes, Chloe is at work and Nikolai comes in. Trouble starts with another table and Nikolai steps in. After work, Chloe is almost taken from the parking lot but Nikolai once again steps in and saves her. Chloe and Nikolai are attracted to each other, but neither one will act on it as Nikolai doesn’t want to bring her into his world and Chloe thinks because she is her professor, she doesn’t have a chance. With the past coming back to haunt Nikolai, Chloe is brought into the middle of it.
This story is full of drama, action, betrayal, suspense, passion, chemistry, and a HEA that could melt your heart. I look forward to reading more from Piper Stone. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! Bad boy….check Bod boy’s crazy brother/friend…check Bad boy’s Kryptonie…check ….check and check By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! Can’t say I didn’t warn you. Nikolai is a sexy as all get out Russian history professor at the university and all the girls try to get into his class just for a look but of course he doesn’t even notice any of them but one. Chloe is sweet, a little on the shy side, works at the dinner to help pay for college and one evening a few of the guest get a little rough and her night in shinning armor is none other than Professor Nikolai. She also learns that evening he isn’t just Russian but part of the Russian mob their chemistry is instant and intense, Nikolai tries his best to keep her away protected is what he told himself. But his enemies are coming after him and intend to hurt him by going after Chloe, she doesn’t know how much danger she is in, but she knows Nikolai isn’t going allow her to get hurt and he makes her feel safe. In order for him to protect her he feels he needs to dominate her ensuring she follow all his rules, and do as she is told when she is told. Buckle up because this ride has so many twists and turns, ride will keep you on the edge of your seat with drops so fast and steep you won’t know what hit you, but will it end with happiness?
Bratva’s Captive was good, but I had a hard time getting into it. It picks right up, & the story plot was good, it had action & steamy scenes, but I didn’t really enjoy Chloe- especially for the first half of the book. Nikolai has lived a hard life, he was living on the streets of Russia, starving for days w/out food. He was taken at age 10 by Maxim Federov- a Bratva leader & most feared man. Maxim gave him a whole new identity- Sacha, & the next leader. But when Maxim is murdered, there’s a bounty put on Nikolai’s head, forcing him to flee his country & go to the US. Where he’s now Nikolai again & a college professor. Chloe has been his student for a year & they’ve both been eyeing each other but never acting on anything. And then one night while working Chloe catches the eye of Russians who are after Nikolai, & luckily Nikolai is there to save her. He tells her to stay away f/him, but she doesn’t listen & a night later he’s again saving her. This time he’s forcing her to go w/him so he can keep her safe. There were so many times she really got on my nerves & made it hard to like her. Nikolai saved her 2 times & all she does is try to run, calls him a monster & doesn’t listen. Even when they’re being chased & he gets them to safety, she once again tries to run. I just couldn’t like her. And the ending felt rushed. The entire book was about Nikolai getting revenge for Maxim’s death, & when he’s forced to return to Russia, the whole fight between him & the Petrov family was just glossed over. Same thing w/the betrayal of Ivan, nothing was really mentioned & that was huge.
Nikolai and Chloe's story begins when she enrolls in his Russian history class. She and her friends are mesmerized by his rugged good looks and what he would be like in bed but she knows he's off limits because he's her professor. That didn't stop her from fantasizing. Chloe is a waitress in a diner trying to get by enough to support herself to live and go to college. Then she encounters a group of unruly men who in a blink of an eye changed her life forever. Her hunky dark mysterious professor rescued her before they could hurt her. Unfortunately that was only the beginning of what was to come. Nikolai is from Russia and grew up within the inter workings of the bratva and his past has come to collect a debt. Chloe has been caught in the crossfire and now Nikolai has no choice but to keep her, possess her, own her, and protect her. Their connection was volitile, intense at times the sexual tension between them thick, yet there was something more under the surface that neither one was willing to admit to especially not Nikolai. Unfortunately none of that matters when he knows he must confront his past no matter the cost and head to the belly of the beast Russia. Their journey is dangerous, mysterious, dark, suspenseful, intense, steamy, sexy, passionate with betrayals, surprises and twists. If I had any thing to say that I wished for in this book it would of been what happened in the cemetery between the brothers and Ivan?
I received an ARC from Booksprout for my honest review. 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a brilliant read Chloe had the biggest crush on her Russian history teacher but there was so much about him that she didn’t know and when something happens at the diner she works out she gets herself involved, that leads her to trust him because now the Bratva are after them both. Sasha/Nichola Grew up in Russia and when his father died he was left on the streets. when he was getting beating for stealing bread because his hunger was so bad he was saved and taken in By a man who turned out to be the head of the Bratva. He was treated like a son and taught how to take over once his father passed, but he got out and went to America to be a professor and teach Russian history. But it seems the Bratva had found him now we must fight for his life but when saves Chloe from a group of Russian thugs he has involved her into his drama. Plus it doesn’t help when she won’t stay long. Now they must run together This is one fast paced read that keeps you put till the very very end. I really like Chloe and Nichola. I wasn’t sure on him to begin with he comes across as a dominant who doesn’t care for what she wants but I soon knew that wasn’t true and he was trying to save her. This is a fantastic read that I couldn’t not put down.

Overall: 5 of 5 stars Performance: 5 of 5 stars Story: 5 of 5 stars Reviewed: 07-13-23
Chloe thinks her Russian Studies professor is hunky perfection! He intrigues her. Little does she know … the explosive truth of his real identity … the secrets he’s hiding, just might get them both killed! Tense, riveting, beautifully heated, and engrossing “Bratva’s Captive” is a “hand me a huge fan and tissues” delight! I adored the beautifully developed characters, and I loved how they grew and changed in keeping with what was happening in the story! No spoilers, I don’t want to give ANY of the delightfully ingenious plot twists, (and there were some fabulous doozies), away! But, let me tell you that this level of development made these characters feel so real; as if “life in the story “ was truly affecting them! This added SO much to the feelings I got as I listened, truly keeping me IN the moment as this explosively intense and engrossing story came alive for me! I was taken by surprise, delightfully so at the reveal, but when all was laid out, it all made sense, my questions all answered, and I was a happy girl indeed! In fact, I think I’d like a Bratva of my own! Five beautiful stars!
Chloe Kingstrom was in need of more credits going forward at the University so she signed up for Russian History with Professor Nikolai Lenov. From walking into class on the first day and Chloe looked up Professor Lenov was an absolute Adonis standing there. She knew she wanted more from the Professor than just learning the Russian studies class he taught. Much more! But Professor Lenov is not who he seems. As Chloe approaches him at the diner where she works after he helps her out of an extremely dangerous situation he warns Chloe to stay away from him. But Chloe being the strong-willed and extremely stubborn woman that she is…does she listen? Now they are on the run from enemies that are out to kill them both. This story is fast paced lots of action, danger, kidnapping, murder, spankings, but amazing chemistry that explodes off the charts. I have read many books by this author and she is absolutely one of my favorites. This was even though it is Bratva/Mafia/violence/Spankings and etc. the ending was PERFECT! A very good story. I definitely would recommend this book. Looking forward to the next journey with Ms. Stone. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
Nikolai is a professor in the USA with a hidden past life as Sacha, a man bought up by Maxim a bratva leader. He left Russia shortly after finding Maxim dead in his bedroom and it wasn't a pretty death! Chloe is a student in Nikolai's class, she's a little older than most of her classmates as she was thrown out at 18 by her parents and so had to work for a few years so she could save up to pay for the schooling. Chloe along with half the other girls has a crush on Nikolai not knowing that he has his eyes on her, but his desires aren't of the vanilla variety. There's a drastic turn of events when Nikolai's past turns up to kill him and Chloe is caught up as collateral damage and they end up on the run and laying low. The storyline from here to their HEA includes spankings, sex shootings a plunge over a waterfall, a beating, a threat of rape, death, destruction and a parting as Nikolai returns to Russia. So apart from the spankings and sex it's like the screenplay of a Bruce Willis film. Plus unbeknown to them when Nikolai leaves he's left a piece of himself growing inside Chloe.

The book captured my attention from the very beginning. The information about Nikolai's (Sasha) background and how he came to be Bratva was intriguing. I did feel like I was either missing some information about his past. I'm not sure if I missed it, or their wasn't a lot of detail about it.
I could not understand why Chloe wanted to be upset with Nikolai after he got her out of that situation. He had warned her to stay away, but she me her curiosity and attraction get the best of her. I felt like she wanted to blame him for something she had just as much responsibility for because she didn't listen.
I did feel like the ending was rushed. The book worked me up to a certain point and I was expecting so many more details than I got about what went on in Russia. Then we got the HEA, which was nice, but I still wanted to "be there" as opposed to being told what happened there.
Overall, not a bad read at all. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from Booksprout.
Nikolai lived a hard life. He was a poor boy living on the streets. When a chance meeting with the Bratva changed his life. He climbed his way to the top as a Bratva Warrior. Fast forward 20yrs and he is a professor teaching Russian history and the language. He isn’t a good man but when one of his students is bullied, he take matters in his own hands. Chloe Kingstrom is a college student just getting by. When three guys try to abduct her, she is saved by her hot professor. She doesn’t know his past but she is going learn that you listen to what he says or be punished for it.
Nikolai is a tough, hot, dominate man that has an appetite that Chloe seems to need. He isn’t gentle and he isn’t about to let her go. He dominates her but his past is coming and there also seems to be people after Chloe too. Hot for teacher is an understatement. This man is “SOLID.” But boy can he get under the skin. You would think his heart would never thaw. Just the love and care of the right woman that can drive him crazy. I do love that bit of a twist in the end. I love these Bratva stories.
This book brings us Nikolai Lenov (aka as Professor, aka Sasha Federov) , and Chloe Kingstrom. Chloe is in Nikolai's Russian History class. Everyone thinks that Professor Lenov is a good looking man, including Chloe. Chloe is working a couple of jobs in order to pay for her schooling, as she was kicked out of her family. One evening, Nikolai comes into the diner she is working at. There are a couple of men giving Chloe a hard time when Nikolai steps in. Nikolai realizes they are Russian and that his past is resurfacing. That includes Chloe, who got in the middle of the ruckus. Nikolai tells Chloe that her life is in jeopardy, and that he will protect her with his life, but they must go on the lamb. Chloe had conflicted feelings towards Nikolai and she had to resolve those feelings. In order to protect Chloe, Nikolai leaves and returns to Russia, and she is sure he is dead. This was a good read. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
Wow just wow. It was amazing. The storyline was brilliant well written and explosive. The characters were perfect, now Nikolai the Russian professor that has a past that he ran from. Hes in America hiding to stay alive, He meets Chloe in class and she stands out as shes older than the other students, as she had trouble with her family at 18. I love how they are drawn to each, their relationship is hot and as much as Chloe wants to say no, she is alive when Nikolai is around. There relationship goes in a direction Nikolai didnt want it to, only as his past comes back and its out for his death. Sadly Chloe gets caught up in it all. Its great to see Nikolai grow as a person but also how he changes as a man. I totally loved this, I think the ending could of showed Nikolai reaction to changes that happen with Chloe. Highly recommend

Chloe and Nikolai have lived different lives. Chloe was disowned by her family and chose to make something of herself and go to college. Nikolai was forced to live on the streets and was adopted by the Federov Bratva. Nikolai moved to America and created a new life for himself as a college professor. Actually, as Chloe's college professor. After a chance meeting at the diner that Chloe works at, Nikolai realizes there is a hit taken out on his life, putting Chloe in danger. Chloe managed to earn herself a few spankings for her unwillingness to listen to Nikolai, who is trying to keep her safe. But, after each one has had a taste, they do not want to let go.
The book grabs you from the beginning with the action and then leads into the steamy stuff. I was unable to put it down.

Her smexy professor is hiding more than one secret
Bratva's Captive is the fifth book in the Merciless Kings series, at least I think it is. The story is about Chloe and Nikolai with an older man/younger woman, professor/student, Bratva/innocent story-line.....but then let's not forget the over the knee and then some scenes. Chloe is a college student and Nicolai is one of her professors. What no one knows is that he is not only from Russia but is from a Bratva family. What he thought he left behind in Russia ends up coming to get him and in the crossfire is Chloe. So Nikolai takes Chloe in order to save her and then the fun begins.....
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Nikolai grew up in the Russian Bratva who left Russia when the man who raised him died. Nikolai changes his last name back to Lenkov and goes to America to start over. He ends up teaching Russian Studies at a University. Chloe is one of his students in his class and while at work one day Nikolai helps to protect her from some creepy men. Chloe thinks that her professor is really but but it's forbidden for a student and teacher to have a relationship. Nikolai has been found and after saving Chloe he knows that her life can never be the same. There is plenty of danger, discipline, and passion. Great chemistry between Chloe and Nikolai. Piper Stone writes a fantastic story and this one doesn't disappoint. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Piper Stone has always been great at delivering dark, questionable romance and this is no different. Bratva's Captive is yet another win for Stone who paints a vivid picture of lust, desire, and enshrouding darkness that pulls the reader in and won't let them go.
The reader is taken along on a bumpy, action-filled ride as Nikolai and Chloe try to outrun assassins at every turn. The problem? Chloe simply wants to get away from the beast who's vowed to protect her and Nikolai? He's simply trying to keep his desire for her at bay--and it's not really working for him.
Intrigue. Steamy. 100% Fun.
Be prepared to stay up all night reading this page-turner. You won't regret it.
Chloe and Nikolais story starts when she takes one of his classes at the college she is attending. She is facinated by the man and also senses that there is more to him then meets the eye. Nikolai grew up in russia and was taken in by on of the bratva families where he was trained to become ruthless. When we meet them it is the end of the semester and through some unfortunate events Chloe is dragged into Nikolais former life. Their journey is a little dark, but it is also a story of what one will do to protect the person you care for.

Chloe has the dream of the whole enchilada, love, house with the white picket fence and a puppy. Nicholai has dark dreams about Chloe. However, Nikolai's past is coming back to haunt him and wipe him out. Chloe gets drawn into the fray. Chloe and Nikolai have a inferno hot attraction. Nikolai's attraction also includes very dark thoughts about the things he wants to do to Chloe and the transgressions he wants to punish her for. They go on the run for their lives. This is a great hot read with lots of action and intrigue.

Okay, so I was not expecting this at all. But let me say I loved it. Who has ever thought about a Russian Mafia guy being a college professor? Surely was not me. But here you have it. Then she also has dual roles but they are the normal one waitress/student. So we get a teacher-student story here but with the twist of the Mafia being part of the equation. He has to dominate, of course we all know that being a Mafia story. But the question remains: will she let him dominate her and will she accept him with his background?

Chloe gets more than she bargained for when she follows the professor. With the past coming back to haunt him, Nikolai will have to act fast if he wants to make it out of this alive with Chloe. With his enemies closing in, Nikolai’s not sure who he can trust and as he spends more time with Chloe, he can’t decide if he wants to throttle her or bring her over his knee. With their lives on the line, Nikolai will have to decide how far he’s willing to go to get the future he wants with the woman who has stolen his heart.

I loved this book the growth the characters achieved just glowed through the pages. (Spoiler alert): the first third of the story was disgustingly gritty. Our Hero hit, raped and sodomized our Heroine. Multiple times. But please stick with the story. Even through the darkest writing, our author wrote the book in both our Hero and Heroine points of view. We got to KNOW them. It is simply not a Stockholm Syndrome book. It is a story of two damaged people finding love and peace in the evil world.
Please read this book. Please get through the pain of their beginning. It is more than worth it.
