A dark sorcerer. Trapped souls at sea. Can a detective with mystical skills survive the tsunami of evil that is about to be unleashed on his city?
PI Bellamy Vale is determined to save Cold City from supernatural peril. So with news of a Chilean businessman’s child disappearing out of his own home, Vale won’t rest until he solves the case. But a sinister presence at the luxury apartment sets off his psychic sense, and the private eye fears something is grievously amiss.
Teaming up with his nemesis on the force and his ex-girlfriend, Vale learns from a powerful witch that the boy is trapped on a ship run by enslaved souls. But with a bloodthirsty lizard creature threatening to permanently end his search, Vale’s fury could release a skill he didn’t know he had.
Will he rescue the missing kid before these deadly spirits destroy everything in their path?
Ghost Ship is the fourth book in the thrilling Vale Investigation dark urban fantasy series. If you like edge-of-your-seat action, otherworldly beasts, and gritty detectives, then you’ll love Cristelle Comby’s mysterious noir tale.
Cristelle Comby was born and raised in the French-speaking area of Switzerland, in Greater Geneva, where she still resides.
She attributes to her origins her ever-peaceful nature and her undying love for chocolate. She has a passion for art, which also includes an interest in drawing and acting.
She is the author of the Neve & Egan Cases series, which features an unlikely duo of private detectives in London: Ashford Egan, a blind History professor, and Alexandra Neve, one of his students.
Currently, she is hard at work on her Urban Fantasy series Vale Investigation which chronicles the exploits of Death’s only envoy on Earth, PI Bellamy Vale, in the fictitious town of Cold City, USA.
Our hero has his hands full this time with supernatural spirits at sea, but he is not alone. Of course, his allies are not exactly his BFFs.
This is book four in the series but it works just fine as a standalone. You might miss a bit of background on the characters, but all the essential bits are covered early on.
This is an action filled urban adventure story with a snarky hero fighting Japanese myths. Lots going on here and it makes for a very interesting mix. I really like our hero, although I am not sure if it is because of his attitude or in spite of it. And the setting has a lot of depth to it which I definitely want to explore in more depth. I guess that is what the other books are for. The story is fast paced and full of plot twists that keep you engaged and guessing as to what comes next. Overall, a highly enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more in the future.
Highly recommended.

A dark urban fantasy with a great storyline and plenty of action. PI Vale is a detective with mystical skills he uses to solve his cases. Contains plenty of action with beasts and a ghost ship. Very well written and quite enjoyable. Highly recommended book and series.
This seven-hour NC17 paranormal about the tribulations of Bellamy Vale is set mostly in Cold City and, although it is Book 4 in the series, works well as a stand-alone.
