Enraged is a nonstop thrill ride. It’s an adrenalin rush of the first order. A police procedural that keeps you glued to the edge of your seat, unable to put the book down even if your life depended on it. Enraged isn’t a page turner, it’s a page burner! But anyone who has read any of E. H, Reinhard’s books, will already know that because all of his books are just that.
Enraged begins with a man buying an engagement ring for his girlfriend of two years, only to discover that she has been cheating on him with his best friend. He gets drunk, oversleeps and is late for work. His boss calls him into his office and fires him for his repeated tardiness. His boss points his fingers at him like it was a gun and goes “Bang.” The man loses it, yanks him over his desk and kills him. Killing his boss sets him out on a killing spree as he arms himself with a Glock that he takes from one of the security guards at the office building as they attempted to stop him from leaving.
For Lt. Harrington, the day started out with a simple double homicide that he solves and then his day turns into a nightmare as he tries to get a head of this insurance salesman turned killer. The bodies pile up as he races against the clock to apprehend the killer before someone else dies. How many people will have to die before he’s stopped? How will this story end? Like all Reinhard stories, it ends in a way that leaves the reader saying: Wow! I diedn’t see that coming.
If you love a police thriller that will leave you breathless, you need to read Enraged.
A man planning to propose to his live in girlfriend learns she has been cheating on him with his best friend. The next day he is triggered by his supercilious boss. Fueled by fury he embarks on a murderous rampage leaving the cops a bloody trail to follow.
The parts featuring the killer were quite good. The rest was rather boring. It is a police procedural with an emphasis on procedure. Most of it just slows down the action. There are too many nonessential characters. The police just react slowly. Despite the fact that there is a homicidal maniac at large the lead detective is more concerned with keeping his date night reservations. It is readable but could have been better. 2.5 stars
I don't generally leave reviews but thought I should give back a little for all the hours of enjoyment I've had from your books. I liked this one a little more than the first in this series. This one has more substance, seems 'meatier ' if that makes sense. All I know is that I should either read slower or you need to write faster. LOL Thanks so much!
I won't write pages telling the story here, just grab a copy and take a break for a couple of hours, enjoy!
This was a really good story line, and quite believable in today's world. Things happened right after another so there was no boring spots. The only problem that I had was the repeating of material to different officers so I felt like I was reading the same things over too many times. That was my only issue.
This story started with two murders over drugs...then everything changed
I liked this story and the characters are growing in me. Our detective was injured again, but since the bad guy was caught, based closed and our couple could sit home and try to relax and heal up again. I think it will be better to have his love married to him. Looking forward to the next adventure.
A good book that shows how police work getting the job done safely for citizens and police officers . That being said , the story was interesting enough that I read it in one day. That usually happens when I read any book by this author. I always recommend his books .
This is an exceptional story of how one event sets off a chain reaction. It’s difficult to say much without a spoiler, so I’ll just say that it is a gripping mystery. Good editing is important to me, and it was. I did have a chuckle, at a character ringing something out instead of wringing it. All in all, good book.
I thought this was an OK read. The author has the ability to tell a good story. He keeps the reader engaged and is easy to turn the pages. That said, this one didn't do that much for me. It was entertaining but in the end, I didn't really care about characters or the outcome.
This was the best of the series. I like his police procedures, and the way he approaches the development of his character. This story has action from the first page to the end. I had a hard time setting it down.
Author forgot to let the readers know how the killer got his skills ,was he former military or assassin he stood up to armed guards, stood up to conceal and carry individual, and confronted a cop, those not normal everyday skills I don't card how enraged you are
After finding out his girlfriend cheated on him, with his best friend, and getting fired, a man goes on a killing spree. Killing six people and wounding a cop, a city wide hunt brings the killer to justice.
The store was well told, with good inter play between characters a nd the hunt for the killer had an unit ending that ended just right with the engagement ring.
There were a few grammatical errors that sometimes drive me crazy but all in all it was a good story. Fast paced, tense at times and I would recommend it.
I have read several books in this series and they are well written. The characters are all likeable. Not really what I consider a thriller but I enjoyed reading it and would recommend.
No such thing as a normal for homicide detectives. A bad night with girlfriend does not improve showing up 2 hours late for work! Full of twisted plots only Miami could deliver. A Great read!
Fast paced, full of action, with a good plot. The characters are definitely growing on me. My only niggle is it's a bit repetitive of the developing situation throughout the story. Nice ending though.
It just took one day for a disgruntled insurance employee, upset at his cheating girlfriend, to murder multiple people in southeast Florida. Police are always one step behind his trail of violence. Exhausting!
This was a great book I have read all of his books and loved them all never expecting the ending I highly recommend this book to everyone Dorothy Schaefer
Loved this book. There’s so much action snd suspense it was hard to put down. I really liked the characters especially Harrington. Can’t wait to read another one.
Well written and cleverly titled. Fast moving and holds your attention. Not sure there was a connection between the drug bust and the rest of the story.
This book was so good, I read it in 2 evenings. Very intense and I love all the characters. E.H. Reinhardt is a great writer. Love all his books. Keep them coming 👍💕
This book was really good and very easy to read. One of those books you can stop and start with ease. Very entertaining, I will read more by this author.
