An Espresso Machine's Guide to Love & Mischief

Rate this book
I used to be an heiress. Yachts. Parties. Designer clothes. I had it all.

Until I died…

Now, my spirit is trapped in an espresso machine!

I spend my days plugged into an outlet, making cappuccinos, lattes, and mochas. So when my barista bestie offers to take me to Toronto, Canada to get my fortune back, I say ‘hell yes’.

Then I meet my fated mates…

They may be hot, but feeling their hands on my knobs and levers is so not how I want to be touched... and they don't want the kind of scalding steam I bring.

Just when things couldn’t get any worse, my metal ass gets kidnapped.

But I’m Diva Del Ray, and come coffee beans or boiled water, I’m going to save myself and get the guy… or should I say guys?

Diva the Espresso Machine finds love and adventure in this quirky, laugh-out-loud, paranormal, reverse harem romance. This book is slow burn and ends on a cliffhanger. They

I vaguely remember Diva from Neph's story. I think that's one I was looking forward to. I have no idea what was going on. So many guys I lost track, then there was the kidnapping and body hopping, the story went chaotic. The shifters are interesting, rat, raccoon, chore possum and whatever else. It was awkward and no real romance or connection other than the soulmate thing and maybe the possum. This one gave me a headache. Won't be reading the next one.

The only reason I'm admitting to reading this is because I want to write a review on it. Finding this book was the product of me delving into the horrific depths of goodreads to find the worst book I could find. Honestly, goal achieved. I think this book was past cringe-worthy...I was borderline throwing up. What shit do you have to smoke to come up with the idea for this. I felt my brain cells leaving. Why is she an espresso machine? Why do all these animal shifters wanna bone her? WHY ARE THE SHIFTERS SO LAME? Like seriously if I get to shift into an animal it better be something sick. Not a fucking possum. I read this as a joke and honestly, it was entertaining as hell, however I was not convinced I was going to be able to finish it. Turns out, I could, and I did. And somehow the story isn't over. I think I'd rather die than read the sequel but a small part of me needs to know what happens. Because what. the. fuck.

Where do I even start?? This book is about someone who gets trapped in an espresso machine after dying and how every new character that you encounter wants to bone said espresso machine. Oh and then she gets kidnapped because why not?? The level of oddity in this book was truly astounding. If I had to read about one more person wondering how to have sex with an espresso machine I was going to scream. Finishing this book definitely raised far more questions than it answered! There was no conclusion!! Just "thanks for reading here's where you can pre-order the next one!" No thank you I have invested enough time into this endeavor.

Well this book was very different, and took me a few chapters to get into. But I'm totally glad I kept on reading as it's absolutely crazy in a good way.
Diva is trapped in a espresso machine and we get to see her crazy adventure to get her fortune back. Whilst on this crazy journey we see many confused shifters wanting her. Until she is machine napped, and the story goes even more twisty right till the last page

Diva finally gets her own story, and it's funny. She just wants her money... not a big deal right? Well if you are just a machine it's a little more complicated than that. It's funny and non-stop action from being to end. This is one book you really need to read

You know what it is, when Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney write a book together you never know what to expect. They can make the most bizarre plot seem very realistic and if I'm pretty sure I don't like I kink I didn't even know existed, they can convince me that it's the most amazing thing ever. I'm always excited to pick up one of their books to discover what strange thing they're gonna normalize now. And giving a talking espresso machine a love story? That sounds epic! I'm glad I got an arc.

I never knew it was possible to fall in love with a talking coffee machine. However, it already happened and I was therefore quite excited to finally get to know Diva as a person better in her own book. And I was more than positively surprised. Diva is the kind of person we all want to be and not want to be at the same time. Just like I'd wanna be friends with her and not wanna be friends with her at the same time. She's endearingly annoying and endearingly arrogant.

Plot-wise this book introduces us to a lot of elements of the plot, but doesn't provide many answers yet. I was actually quite surprised when I discovered that I finished the book already, because it felt like we barely got to know the guys and the romance didn't really start yet. And yet I am intrigued and can't wait to read on to discover how all those elements and all those different characters will eventually come together.

I also quite liked the mythology in this book! In the original book everything happened by accident, but in this book we learn a lot about souls inhabiting bodies and objects. I really liked the different viewpoints on what's the best way to help these souls and I really hope we get to see more of the ethical issues concerning the whole body-hopping issue. I trust the authors to find a great and natural way to give this Diva her happily ever after. She earned it.

An Espresso Machine’s Guide to Love and Mischief is the first book in Mia Harlan’s and Eva Delaney’s spinoff series featuring Diva the espresso machine! While we’re not necessarily returning to Nephrite’s cafe and town, we are being reunited with some familiar characters, and a lot of fun antics.
When I started reading this book I really didn’t know what to expect. I was introduced to unfamiliar characters, and I couldn’t help thinking…this character isn’t an espresso machine, but an opossum shifter. LOL! Don’t worry, just hang in there. There is a lot going on, but it all comes together really well in the right moments. Now, when Diva is introduced onto the scene – things get weird, but with these authors that’s always a good thing.
This book is packed with lots of interesting and engaging moments. Diva is an absolute blast and I enjoyed every second of her. Her stories are hilarious and I ate them all up. I like the variety of characters and shifters in this book, too. I might have choked on a laugh when I learned that there is a penguin shifter in this book. But beyond the mischief and antics, there is danger as well. I love the mystery angle and I’m looking forward to see where it goes from here.
This book is humorous on so many levels, a hint of mystery, slow-burn romance, with a bit of a cliffhanger ending. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. These two authors really know how to take things in a “weird” direction and truly bring things to life. This book is gold. I’m rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend!

I was somewhere between 3 and 4 stars for this book because it was... well... crazy.
Not that it's a bad thing in the first place. The ideas used are very creative and sometimes the situations are so absurd you just have to wonder how in the world someone even came up with this. There are plenty of hilarious and awkward situations that can make the reader laugh, Diva is definitely living up to her name with her attitude even as a coffee machine, and the collection of mates is most definitely an unusual one. Same holds for Diva's stories and memories - I'd really love to know when did that woman manage to experience all that. But the downside to this book is actually how chaotic it gets. It's sometimes very hard to keep track of Diva's mates, and the hopping complicates things even more. I literally had issues to identify which-guys-POV-this-chapter-is-told-from (even with name provided) because it simply wasn't too clear who is who at times and such confusion in the characters is definitely an issue. Also, the way things simply ended with Fletcher... at the end we got the info there will be a sequel but still, the point at which some of the plot lines ended at is weird. Chaotic. Certain degree of chaos this story definitely benefit from, but this was an overkill for me. I really want to see how this will fit together with the sequel though, and I will read it because such crazy story I definitely never read. :D

If you’re looking for a hilarious new read featuring unique characters and fated mates then this is the one for you! Totally hilarious and absolutely punny, this book will definitely make you laugh at loud at the crazy antics of Diva, her friends and her fated mates. Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney most definitely have the worlds most unique take on the shifter world locked down and this one was no different.

Diva is a lost soul trapped in an espresso machine, just trying to get her family’s fortune back—and everything just keeps going wrong. a character. She has no filter and says whatever she wants—and doesn’t balk at the fact she suddenly finds herself attracted to a variety of unusual shifters.

With hilarious stories and hijinks galore, Diva and her friends will take you on a ride as fate keeps putting them directly in each other’s paths. Can Diva find herself a new body and be able to come together with all her mates or is she forever doomed to be trapped? I can’t wait to see where the story takes us next for Diva and her men!

Overall if you’re a fan of unusual RH fated mate romances that feature quirky characters, wonky magic, and possessed furniture then you’re doing to love this unique world of Diva and her men!

A latte laughs

** Cliffhanger Warning! ** Holy coffee! I love this book. This is a HILARIOUS, whirlwind adventure with a unique main character. Diva is a ghost who is possessing an espresso machine. But that doesn't stop her from having crazy adventures, finding her mates, or making a big impression on everyone she meets. There is a ton of stuff going on in this story: Fated mates, kidnappings, body snatchers, subway rat politics, a serial killer, and a bit of vengeance.

I'm loving how we have gone from Silver Springs to Moonlit Falls to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Diva's first book is an international incident. It starts out as Diva and Nephrite start to confront someone who stole Diva's family's money. Things go all kinds of crazy from there. There are some parallel plots, too. This is SO not your average fantasy romance.

I'm fascinated by the males in Diva's path. Fletcher, the opossum shifter whose gaze is so hot that it roasts coffee beans. Rollo, the regal rat who just wants peace and pizza. Ben, the brave skunk shifter who may or may not get to steam Diva's milk. Trevor... The jury is still out on him. And Asgard, the sexy raccoon shifter / spy.

I'm excited to see what happens next!

This book is Amazing!! It is quirky and wierd in the very best way ❤️ The book starts with the main character Diva as a ghost heiress stuck in an expresso machine which is just strange to start with and the book just gets better and stranger from there when whe starts to find her mates which range from an opossum to a skunk to a raccoon to a rat to it seems another ghost....all of the above except the Ghost being shifters 😀 These characters bring the fun into this book and I can't wait to see how their relationships evolve at least I hope they all get to evolve...and therein is the rub. The plot of this book is very well written however it is at least a 2 part book so the first part of the book is very much leading you towards the second book. We learn a little bit about a lot of things which will hopefully be resolved in book number two because if they aren't I am going to be super sad because the cliffhangers in book one killed me haha 😅 Overall this was a wonderful book with a lot of laughs and suspense and great characters but I can not wait for book two to come out!!

What a fun book to read!! Diva is interesting, gaining attention wherever she goes. I love how she is not able to control herself and will steam people and gets angry when she runs out of water. Diva goes through a lot; she is trying to fight for her inheritance, but while doing it winds up kidnapped. There is definitely no lack of humor in this book. I enjoyed meeting all of her mates and their immediate need to protect her. I enjoyed the ongoing side mystery with the dead shifters and am very interested as to how it relates to her story. This was a great read that allows you to enjoy some humor, romance and mystery. I highly recommend it, I can not wait to see where the story is going. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well...erm...I....erm.... This has to be the craziest book I have read in ages, so bonkers but had me giggling many times.
Diva is stuck in an espresso machine, and her friend Neph is trying to help her reclaim her inheritance - but, wow, nothing goes right for them. They do come across other shifters, who either try to help or hinder, but think they're helping- it all adds to the crazy chaos.
Diva is a diva, she has had some crazy life experiences and is a little out of touch with every day life. Loving the other characters, they all have their own quirks.
I enjoyed the writing style, lots of misinterpreted interactions or omitted information leads to some really crazy adventures.
Very fast paced, bonkers but so funny - can't wait to see what happens to Diva in the next book.

Mia Harlan and eva Delaney defently know how to keep us on our toes with the most funniest most wackiest story ever and I loved every minute. With Diva the fun loving coffie machine with her funny personality and tales of her colourful past life and her insults and funny nicknames she gives That will make this story totally enjoyable to read. Mystery murders, reconnaissance raccoon and a playing dead possums that's just so funny, rats with tiny phones with a mission of there own with never dull moment. High chase and kidnapping all rolled into one and body hopping you'll never see coming. And an ending that will make you scream and say no this can't be it. As you'll have to wait till the next chapter in the story. And really need to know what happens next.

Put the diva in Diva

Diva, a spirit trapped in an espresso machine, has convinced her friend Nephrite, a pony shifter, to go to Toronto to help get back her family’s fortune. As the story progresses a trail of hearts follow her, her quest is much harder, and ending up kidnapped becomes a bother. Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney put the diva in Diva with An Espresso Machine’s Guide to Love and Mischief. The witty Diva from their book Moonlit Nephrite finally gets to leave the Jewels Café and things turn out so much stranger than a group of possessed supplies. I look forward to seeing how this adventure continues and wonder if the authors have any plans to write another Nephrite book.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Wow... I'm Speechless . . .

An espresso machine with a harem… yep, this is probably the most unusual book I’ve read so far. But amazingly, it was funny and enjoyable.

Diva started out as a wealthy heiress once, surrounded by all the things the wealthy own. When she died, her spirit went into an espresso machine. I’m not sure I can do this justice telling you about it. This is one of those stories you have to experience firsthand.

You won’t want to miss her finding her fated mates and figuring out what to do about it! There is a kidnapping and all sorts of crazy stuff. Take the story line in a lighthearted way and enjoy it. I’m pretty sure it’s like nothing you’ve ever read before.

I literally was dying laughing reading this book. It was completely bonkers but absolutely brilliant too!! We got to meet Diva (FMC) briefly in Nephrites book (Part of the Moonlit Falls - Silver Springs series). She goes on a crazy caper in her own book in the form of a Espresso Machine which shes magically trapped in. Which you would think would be a lot harder to get in trouble in but that doesnt seem to make much difference to Diva. Trouble seems to find her. She is a riot with some of her one-liners and her off the cuff remarks. I just cracked up from start to finish. Add into that the mix of her mates who all bring more complications to Diva's life. I just loved this book and im looking forward to the next book. This one was so good

An espresso machines guide to love a mischief is an absolutely hilarious book by Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney. This is the book I never knew that I really needed, funny, quirky completely and utterly original, this book had me in absolute stitches the entire way through. What’s more surprising is the fact the story actually had a plot. What I thought was going to be something completely ridiculous actually had a really decent storyline a little cliffhanger and has me looking forward to the next book. I definitely recommend this book to anybody who has a really great sense of humour enjoys quirky characters and needs something to lift their spirits. This is exactly book I needed and hopefully will do the same to many others.

If you read Moonlit Nephrite, you'd have met Diva, the cafe's espresso machine, possessed by the ghost of a dead heiress. Here, Diva gets to take centre stage and find her own harem.

Yes, you read that right, the lead female character is an espresso machine.

This kind of story could only have come from the minds of Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney . If you've read any of their Silver Springs books, you know they write the oddest characters and scenarios, and this has just dialled it up to 11!

As a first book in the series, there's several open story lines to resolve over the next books, but I hope that Diva finally gets her happy every after in the end!

Fun and quirky are the perfect way to describe this story. Diva is the star of the story. And how could she not be when she is a spirit trapped in a big red espresso maker. We met Diva in the author’s previous books but now she has her own story. This is just the first book so there is so much more still to happen. We meet several new characters and follow Diva on an insane ride. It’s amazing how much trouble an espresso machine can get into. In a world with shifters and so many more paranormal anything can happen.

I have been very excited for this release. This book is unlike any other book I have ever read. It has a amazing main female character who will have you laughing the entire book. A harem of men who are also hilarious and over protective of their espresso machine.
I would not say that it ended in a cliffhanger. More of an ending that leaves you wanting more.
I have never read anything by these authors before, however I will now be binge reading everything they have ever written. Highly recommend this book!

Life can’t be good if you’re an spreading machine. Especially if you were a billionaire heiress when you were alive and then your spirit gets stuck in said espresso machine after a tragic accident.

That’s where Diva’s story takes us. This billionaire espresso machine heiress is in Toronto on a mission. Best friend, Nephrite, in tow Diva is hunting down the person who has her money. Along the way she meets a possum who plays dead, a deranged clown, and a host of other characters. Join Diva on this mission, but prepare for the core workout you’re gonna get from the laughs.

I received an ARC copy of this book and it was hilarious!! I have never laughed so much and had so many WTF?! moments. The characters are hilarious and also witty. Soo many fated mates that are entertaining and Diva..her stories make you laugh out loud. Such a hilarious take on shifters and body hoppers. I've read many shifter books and this one was a different take on them. Where other shifter books are serious, this one takes a turn into hilarity. Bravo to the authors..made me laugh a lot throughout the book!!

This was such a fun read. Strange in it own way but still real entertaining to have you laughing out loud. I wasn't really happy with the cliffhanger ending but as the first book in this series I'm really hoping that Diva finally get her HEA in the end. Overall a good read. So if your looking for something different and want to laugh out loud in the process I totally recommend that you one click on this super fun read. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.

Diva, whose spirit is possessing a coffee machine is the heroine in this insanely funny comedy by Mia Harlan and Eva Delaney. I have been waiting for this since we first met Diva in Nephrite who is also in this book as they make their way to Toronto to get Diva's fortune back. This isnt a standalone so the story isnt complete yet but there is so much character building going on between 5 possible mates that attempting to cram it all into one book would not have done it justice at all. Can't recommend this book highly enough and I am really looking forward to reading the continuing story

This book legit had me howling with laughter from beginning to end. Some of you may remember Diva, the girl who died and is stuck in an espresso machine and works with Nephrite. Well, you are in for one hell of a wild with this story. Diva wants to reclaim her inheritance, but how exactly do you do that when you're pretty much an espresso machine? It's fast-paced and full of laughs and a brilliant addition. Can't wait for the next one. Am I the only one routing for Diva to get her own body at some point?

uhm... so... here's the thing, I still can't truly make my mind up about this book
I picked it up because the concept sounded hilarious and I couldn't wait to see how the author dealt with it and I must say it didn't disappoint in that aspect
It IS an RH book that stars an espresso machine (that has a soul inside) and shifter men... Men who find themselves attracted to a talking red expresso machine and can't explain it but still profess their love for her... I just don't know what else it there to say except, yes, it IS obviously funny!

Absolutely brilliant.

Mia and Eva I seriously can't thank you enough for these books.
When you have had a rubbish day this book is the cure.
Never have I giggled so much than when I read this.

After reading about donut shifters I thought Mia couldn't get any better until this book.

Not impressed at the cliffhanger but will forgive you as.i know when there is a cliffhanger there will be a second book.
