Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, The Twilight Saga captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires.
Stephenie Meyer is the author of the bestselling Twilight series, The Host, and The Chemist. Twilight was one of 2005's most talked about novels and within weeks of its release the book debuted at #5 on The New York Times bestseller list. Among its many accolades, Twilight was named an "ALA Top Ten Books for Young Adults," an Amazon.com "Best Book of the Decade So Far," and a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year.
Meyer graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English Literature. She lives in Arizona with her husband and three sons.
I'm sorry but I just couldn't do it even after the first 70 pages of the first book...I'm not willing to continue, it is not for me. The main character annoys me too much. I gifted the series to my local little library and I hope it has found another home where it is appreciated.
I'm still waiting to be swept up by an 100 year old vampire til this day. I love their relationship at times, but I feel Edward can forget he is the boyfriend NOT THE DAD! It was really cute story if you love paranormal romance.
My forever comfort books, only books I ever read both in Spanish and English ❤️ not the best writing, or best plot, but definitely has a place in my heart forever.
In middle school, I effing loved the Twilight saga. Now.. I wonder what was going on in Stephanie Meyers head when she wrote this. The amount of weird incest plays, and oddly Mormon beliefs smeared quickly onto pages doesn't translate well. The perfect book for the tween mind, but not for someone with a frontal lobe that has developed. Forever #TeamEdward though!
The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer will forever be one of those series for me. I read these books when the whole Twilight phenomenon was happening, and honestly? I don’t care how many years pass or how much people make fun of them—I still love them. Bella Swan moves to tiny, rainy Forks, Washington, expecting her life to be incredibly boring. Instead she meets Edward Cullen. Beautiful. Mysterious. Moody. Occasionally disappears from school. Has golden eyes that randomly change color. Somehow stops a moving van with his bare hands. Bella: Hmm. Something might be different about this guy. And thus begins one of the most dramatic teenage relationships ever committed to paper. Edward is a vampire who has spent decades avoiding human blood, and Bella happens to smell more irresistible to him than any human he’s ever encountered. So naturally, they fall desperately in love. Then we get Jacob Black, werewolves, the Volturi, vampire baseball, Italy, Victoria trying to kill Bella, an entire newborn vampire army, love triangles, marriage, pregnancy, Renesmee, and enough supernatural relationship drama to keep Forks permanently unwell. Is Bella sometimes frustrating? YES. Is Edward occasionally controlling and completely over-the-top? ABSOLUTELY. And reading these books as an adult definitely makes me look at some things differently than I did when I was younger. There are moments when Edward’s behavior that once seemed so romantic now makes me think, Sir…you climbed through her bedroom window and watched her sleep before you were even dating. We need to discuss boundaries. And don’t even get me started on some of Jacob’s behavior in the later books. But somehow I can recognize ALL of that and still have such a soft spot for this series. Because Twilight is also a feeling. Rainy Forks. Bella’s truck. The Cullen house. The meadow. La Push. Baseball during a thunderstorm. Edward’s silver Volvo. The yellow eyes. The red eyes. Team Edward versus Team Jacob. Waiting desperately for the next book to come out. And Breaking Dawn was absolutely UNHINGED. Bella finally marries Edward, gets the honeymoon she’s been waiting approximately three books for, becomes pregnant with a half-vampire baby who nearly kills her from the inside, Edward performs an emergency vampire C-section, Jacob imprints on the BABY, Bella finally becomes a vampire, and then basically every vampire in existence shows up for a battle that doesn’t actually happen. What a time to be alive. I also still think New Moon deserves compensation for the emotional damage it caused an entire generation of teenage girls. Those blank pages with October. November. December. January.?! STEPHENIE. We were CHILDREN. 😭😂 Are these books perfect? Absolutely not. Would several relationships benefit from extensive therapy and a discussion about healthy boundaries? Yes. Would I still happily pick them up again? Absolutely. Some books don’t have to hold up perfectly to who you are now to remain important to who you were when you first loved them. And Twilight will probably always be one of those series for me.
Spice level: 1/5 🌶️ Romance content: Mostly closed door/YA. There’s lots of kissing, attraction, sexual tension, and discussion about Edward and Bella waiting until marriage. Breaking Dawn includes sex after they marry, but the actual scenes are largely fade-to-black rather than explicitly described.
Edward Cullen??? Sir… if dramatic obsession was a personality, it would be YOU. The staring, the intensity, the “I haven’t slept in 100 years but I’ll watch you breathe” energy???
And I’m supposed to act NORMAL?? Absolutely not.
Jacob?? Running around all warm, shirtless, emotionally available-ish… Like okay?? Competing HARD for attention 👀
And Bella??? GIRL.
You really said: “Why choose… when I can emotionally multitask?” 💅
Miss ma’am was out here juggling vampire thirst and werewolf heat like it’s a full-time job.
At some point I stopped asking “who will she pick?” and started thinking…
“Why are we limiting ourselves here??” 😏
Because let’s be honest — This wasn’t a love triangle. This was tension, temptation, and terrible decision-making wrapped in one chaotic package 🔥
Do I judge it? Yes. Did I eat it up anyway? ALSO YES 😭
The angst?? Delicious. The longing?? Unbearable. The chemistry?? Questionable but addictive.
Genres (aka what this chaos really is): 🧛 Obsession-core romance 🔥 Love triangle (and then some 👀) 😮💨 Tension you can CUT with a knife 💔 Dramatic “I’ll die without you” energy 🌲 Moody fantasy thirst trap ✨ Zero logic, full vibes
Verdict: Toxic? Maybe. Entertaining? ABSOLUTELY.
No thoughts. Just vibes… and poor decision-making 😌
I was a kid when I first read this series, and I was SOOO in love with Robert Pattinson. 😭🧛🏻♂️❤️
Reading it again now, I somehow found myself Team Jacob. 🐺😂 And as always, I have never been Team Bella. Girl, please. 😭
But honestly… I don't know what Stephenie Meyer was thinking with that fourth book. 😭💀 That one really had me questioning everything. Still, this series will always have a special little place in my childhood memories. 🖤
But yeah… officially done with the Twilight books. 🌙✋
The Twilight series will always have a special place in my heart because they were the first-ever books I read for me, and not for school. I have reread these books around four times each. I remember when I was reading them for the first time I was addicted. I could not put it down. Now I know the plot isn't the greatest, but I still love them. Basically, Bella falls in love with Edward, a one-hundred-year-old vampire. She later gets conflicting feelings for Jacob, a werewolf, and Edward's enemy. She ultimately chooses Edward in the end. Along the way, they have to face James, Victoria, and the Volturi. I recomend these books to generally people who like fiction, fantasy, and romance books.

so i live for jacob pre-werewolf transformation. i also grew up on the books and movies. definitely feeds into every teen fantasies and desires, giving wattpad vibes and we all know it, but like thats the point. its a dirty pleasure. HOWEVER, i will never forgive stephanie myers for ruining jacobs character, as well as the whole weird resume thing

read this whole series in a week while i was grounded because i was crazy. loved this, felt the month by month with the song come to life in the book and i felt it hard. don’t play about bella and edward 💯💯💯💯 books way better than the movie they did them extremely dirty.
To be fair I haven’t read this series for YEARS, however it was instrumental to me awakening as a reader and even after all of these years I love the series.
I remember being at the eye of my seat and very invested in the story, and running to get the next books as they were finished! However it would not quite be “GOD TIER” for me so four stars!
Unlike most I saw the movies before I read these and really, I mean what can I say, its Twilight. The books have so much more and very descriptive and the movies for me just made for a smoother read. x0x0x0
Yes, I know this book is full of unhealthy relationship tropes, crazy plotlines, etc. BUT I reread it as a teenage girl CONSTANTLY. It is a cultural touchstone. Therefore, it has to be rated 5 stars.
I was a lot younger when I fell in love with the books, and I read it before I watched the movies. It's to this day still a lot better, and I fell in love with it all over again I would reread it anytime
I did not read the last 2 because they are with different people than the first four. But I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! The 2 is boring, like REALLY boring. But just keep reading, because the 3rd one is better and the last one is REALLY GOOD!! ;) DEFINITELY READ!!!
The books were AMAZING! I read these every-time I’m in need to escape, it’s so easy to be immersed in the universe of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen *winks*
Wonderful books from my childhood that leave me feeling nostalgic every time I pick them up. I think these books are essential when it comes to romance/YA.
