Dante and Jacqueline's story hits a speed bump but that quickly changes when they run into each other at the Hamptons. As their relationship progresses by meeting family, too many secrets and lies will eventually catch up to them. On to book 3 I go!

Again, the summary doesn’t quite tie to the book but you get the gist. This is a couple that can’t be together, but they can’t stay away from each other either. Jacqueline sees something in Dante that’s perfect for her – she truly is addicted but what he did, well that’s not something that she’s ready for yet she doesn’t realize that the lie she learned about who paid for her mother’s treatment isn’t the worst lie.

Dante on the other hand has a mess to get out of and we don’t quite know the full extent just yet. We know that he’s struggling in his business – he’s being forced to agree to something that he doesn’t want, and there’s clearly a tie to Jacqueline’s brother that he’s forced to deal with that we don’t yet know. Then on top of that, he’s bound to Jacqueline – and as much as he tries to walk away, he can’t.

So we watch the roller coaster (train wreck?) unfold. They go their separate ways for the best. We see how life starts to take a new form. Now that Jacquelines mom is on the mend, she’s about jump into the life that she put on hold. She goes back to school and finishes her degree. She gets back on her feet and starts to become more independent. She and Allison. find a rhythm to their friendship and enjoy what it’s like to be in life.

She wants to forget Dante – but she can’t. She wants to get a job and be on her own but she can’t. And when she literally runs into Dante in the park, her life is flipped again.

We start this installment in a dark place, and watch how there’s promise of something more. We hope there’s something good that will come out of everything, but what we see instead are relationships broken as a result of ones that were repaired, and there is still uncertainty looming.

Dante had to borrow money to help out Jacqueline and now the piper wants to be paid. We also see that he’s probably in over his head in a deal with work, a hunch that leads him to believe that he’s been forced to invest in a company that is laundering money in some way and he tries to get Jacqueline to spy / investigate what’s going on. What we all can expect though is that it’s going to come to haunt Dante some how in the future – he’s going to be taken down with the ship instead of looking like the hero . (that’s my guess at least).

The last scene is when we know the story will take a sharp turn. Jacqueline’s mom gets a letter there Michael didn’t die in an accident but instead was murdered. Who did it and why? And of course as the reader, we want to know how Dante is connected.

Dante & Jacqueline’s story continues in the second installment and so do the secrets, just one after another and it makes things tense for these two but there chemistry out wins even after a separation but there’s still things hidden. Looking forward to the next one

Where are we going?! There's only one book left and this series isn't known for its lengthy pages.

A weekend in the Hamptons would have been a better title for this novel. As the name suggests, it seems everyone has made their way to the Hamptons for a weekend.

What happens after is the clearing up of misunderstandings between Jacqueline and Dante followed by a whole lot of weirdness and problems. There is some breakfast too.

Turns out Lincoln is a piece of shit and Allison is a sex-crazed demon.

Dante gets even more mysterious and creepy and I think this has turned into a mafia novel. I'm not certain.

Once again, it's one sex scene. I am sensing a pattern. However, I enjoy them as a couple. Just talking and relaxing. It's my favourite version of them.

I got that meeting between Jacqueline and Dante's mother and it was definitely not what I expected but I also felt like I got to know his mom better.

At this point, we are just along for the ride because I can't make heads or tails anymore and I just want to know what Dante and now Lincoln is talking about.

I don't even know how to decipher the finances because I am certain the man one-clicked a quarter-million dollars for cancer treatment and suggested his brother quit his job, on account of how much money they have.

I just wanna understand what's happening!

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Jacqueline and Dante’s story continues with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns. The chemistry is intense with some sizzling scenes. Great characters and a story that will draw you in from beginning to end. I really liked it.

3.75 stars--DARK REDEMPTION is the second instalment in Charlotte Byrd’s contemporary adult DARK INTENTIONS erotic, romantic suspense trilogy. This is the continuing story of businessman Dante Langston, and receptionist/ journalism major Jacqueline Archer’s story line. DARK REDEMPTION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one DARK INTENTIONS.


NOTE: If you have not read book one, there may be spoilers in my review.


SOME BACKGROUND: Jacqueline Archer’s mother needed a life saving procedure, and our heroine needed a quick influx of cash. On the recommendation of her best friend Allison, Jacqueline applies for an exclusive membership to the $ex club Redemption, where she will meet businessman Dante Langston. This is their story.


Told from dual first person perspectives (Jacqueline and Dante) DARK REDEMPTION picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one wherein Dante has gone behind our heroine’s back, and in doing so, angered Jacqueline such that neither one spoke to one another in several months. A chance meeting on the beach in the Hampton’s finds Dante and Jacqueline rekindling their relationship, a relationship that is about to take a different turn. Dante is struggling with a recent account, and Jacqueline may be the perfect foil to uncover the who and what of the man in charge. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Jacqueline and Dante, and the potential fall-out as Dante’s past refuses to remain buried and gone.


Meanwhile, Dante’s brother Lincoln’s wife is pregnant but her husband is all but an absentee spouse. Secrets will reveal that all is not well between Lincoln and Marguerite, and in this, Dante and Jacqueline find themselves caught in the middle of a potential minefield of secrets and lies.


The relationship between Dante and Jacqueline begins acrimoniously as neither one is ready to forgive and forget. Jacqueline is upset that Dante has gone behind her back even though his intentions helped and did no physical harm. Dante’s actions have placed our hero in a precarious position, not with with Jacqueline, but with his dysfunctional family, who keep secrets buried from one another.


We are reintroduced to Dante’s brother Lincoln and his wife Marguerite, as well as their mother Adele, and Jacqueline’s best friend Allison.




DARK REDEMPTION follows several paths focusing on the back and forth, up and down relationship of our story line couple, but also on the relationships between Allison and Jacqueline, and Marguerite and Lincoln, Lincoln and Dante, everyone and Adele. The are a number of secrets, lies and betrayal that everyone continues to dance around, and it is only a matter of time before everything is revealed. The premise is engaging; the romance is tender ; the characters are struggling = DARK REDEMPTION ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

This is the second book in the Dark Intension series by Charlotte Byrd. Dark Redemption is dark, intense and full of intrigue as the story picks up with Jacqueline finding out that Dante is the donor who helped her mother. We get both POV's of Jacqueline and Dante's perspective regarding the fallout that Dante was the one paying for Jacqueline's mother medical bills as well as their relationship throughout the story. This story will have you on edge with all of the angst and guilt they are experiencing as they try to move on after they both have tried to apologize repeatedly with neither one reaching out to the other. Jacqueline is haunted by the memoires of Dante and Dante with the secrets he is still keeping from her feels it is best to just move as he doesn't want Jacqueline to get her if she should learn the truth. Fate will soon pull these two together at the Hamptons, as Dante goes to his brother's home to relax and who should see him on the beach but Jacqueline. Now they will once again begin a whirlwind relationship but it will be full of secrets, jealousy, threats and betrayals. We now learn that Dante borrowed $200,000 from his trust fund and the rest from an undesireable group that will be due soon, but can he pay this debt back in time?

Now we have his controlling mother finding out about the money and giving him one month to put the money back, a brother who has cheated on his pregnant wife by going to Club Redemption and hooking up with Allison. Dante hopes his brother would help him, but has one condition, he has to keep Lincoln's secret from his wife and wants Dante to go back to his old life with his skillset that has people willing to pay a lot of money for. Will Dante succomb to the pressure when all else fails? Now we are left with a cliffhanger full suspense, drama and chaos when Jacqueline receives a phone call from her emotionally distraught mother about a letter she received indicating her brother Michael was murdered? What happens if all of Dante's lies and secrects come out and did Dante have a connection to Michael? How far is Jacqueline willing to go through to uncover the truth about her brother and what does she discover? We are left having to wait for Dark Sins book # 3 in is this dark, intense romance story surrounding Jacqueline and Dante's ill fated love that is all built on lies and secrets.

This is book two in The Dark Intentions Series and it continues Dante and Jaqueline's story. When Jaqueline finds information that Dante is the anonymous person that paid for her mother's treatment she is not happy that he lied to her so she walked away. Dante understands why Jaqueline is angry but he also thought that she would understand that he just wanted to help and now she hasn't come back to the hotel he feels that he has lost her but what can be do especially as he has never found a connection and chemistry so strong with anyone like he has with Jaqueline and he also realised that he has fallen in love with her but all he has done is told her lie after lie and what will Jaqueline do when she finds out all the secrets that he is keeping from her. There are so many twists and turns along the way but what is Dante hiding and why doesn't he just come clean and deal with the consequences of his action. Wow this book certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what else would happen and it is a real page turner that I just couldn't put down. This series is so addictive and Omg what a cliff hanger ending and I can't wait to read the next book to see what else Dante and Jaqueline will have to go through. The storyline pulled you in right from the start and the characters fit so well together even though they are from different backgrounds and you find yourself cheering for them. Charlotte Byrd is an amazing author and writer and this series is just getting better and better with each book and I definitely recommend you read it but just remember that this is not a standalone book and you will need to read the series right from the beginning to get all the background of but you will definitely not be disappointed.

OMG—what a cliffhanger! I can’t believe it ended so quickly… the anticipation of the next book will be succulent and I can’t wait to find out what happens next! I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the pages. DARK REDEMPTION picks up from the first book and that cliffhanger secret is revealed. Jacqueline goes on a mini vacation with her best friend to the Hamptons because of what she found out what Dante did. Dante goes to the Hamptons to spend time with his brother and sister-in-law at their family home because Jacqueline was angry with him. By coincidence, Jacqueline happened to be on the same beach as Dante, and thus they rekindled their relationship. This story has lots of twists and turns that also involves Dante’s brother, sister-in-law, his mother, and Jacqueline’s best friend. Just when I thought the ending would surround Jacqueline’s BFF, then out of nowhere, the story changes. I didn’t see that coming, but it has an unexpected surprise that is so jaw-dropping good! Charlotte Byrd gives the reader all of the ‘feels’ of a great romantic suspense—secrets, mystery, and drama—she just doesn’t disappoint. I would highly recommend this book. Dante has a secret, it is about Jacqueline00k he has been watching her. Jacqueline is being adventurous with her life by going to a club for one night. Jacqueline not expecting too much about that night, however it turns into a night to remember. Dante who frequents this club proposes to Jacqueline to spend the evening with him. Neither of them do not want any type of relationship. However Jacqueline could not forget that night with Dante.
Jacqueline is taking care of her mother who has cancer. Her mother doesn’t has much long to live without a treatment program that was proposed to her. Part of the problem is that the treatment is very expensive and Jaqueline or her mother does not have the money. Dante who is following her decides to pay for her mother’s treatment.
I loved the mystery and suspense that is portrayed in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Charlotte Byrd books. This is my ARC review.

Deeper and deeper you go in this second book.

Dante & Jacqueline’s story continues in this second book of the Dark Intentions Series. One of Dante’s secrets is revealed to her by accident. She’s very mad. It causes them to separate for a while. There are things revealed to the reader, but not to Jacqueline; one of his other secrets. They meet again in on the beach in The Hamptons; she is on a mini vacation with her best friend, and he is on the same with his brother and sister-in-law, who are very involved in this story, as Dante’s mother is. There is a revelation at the end, but not about any of Dante’s secrets. This story turns into an investigative one going forward. This doesn’t take away from the steam between Dante and Jacqueline, though, once they get back together. I’m looking forward for all secrets to be revealed, and all the reactions to them in the last book of their story.

This is book two in The Dark Intentions Series and it continues Dante and Jaqueline's story.

This picks up where Dark Intentions left off with Dante paying for Jaqueline's mothers treatment, when really he cant afford it!

After they argue and he heads off for Chicago, Jaqueline tries to phone him constantly to apologise but he never replies just Buries himself in his work to pay off his debts.

When they meet by accident at The Hamptons they fall back in love, even his mother likes Jaqueline, which is a shock. But Dante is still hiding something, there is still something he isn't telling her.

This book is intense, sizzling hot and very mysterious, there is so much I could say about it but wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else, you must read it for yourself, you wont be disappointed, as the plot thickens you are drawn in more and more, I cant wait for the next book to find out what Dante is hiding and how it will affect them.

Dark Redemption (Dark Intentions Book 2)

After all this time they finally find each other. Her mother had Cancer, need a operation and they needed money for it. Dante decided to take the money from his trust fund and borrow the rest to pay for the girl mother's cancer operation. When Jacqueline finds out that he was the donor of the money, she get angry with Dante and tell him she does not want to see him ever again. Months and months pass and she tries to get a hold of him to apologize for herself, because she really likes him and misses him. So this is where they pick back up and he offers her a job to spy on one of his investments. To make sure its being handled right without fraud. They are so into each at this point.. Only seeing each other, a item per say. Just as she is getting ready to leave her mother calls and says her brother was murdered.... To be cont. Cliffhanger. Read next book. Exciting and so much drama keeps you satisfied as a reader. ENJOY

OH EM GEE!!! This is getting deeper, more serious, sexy, steamy and danger is right around the corner. Jacqueline is getting her life back on track as her mother is all done with treatment. Dante in order to help Jacqueline's mother has put himself in a precarious position that may lead to incarceration or worse. This story keeps getting better and better. Dante wants something serious and exclusive with Jacqueline and she agrees. Her mom calls her at the end with some heart breaking, utterly unbelievable and shocking news. On to the next book. Dark Sins.

I enjoyed the second book in the Dark Intentions series by author Charlotte Byrd. The story picks up at a point in the relationship where the protagonists, Jacqueline and Dante, unexpectedly reunite while vacationing separately in the Hamptons. Jacqueline is there with her friend Allison, while Dante is with his brother and sister-in-law at a family home owned by his mother. Their meeting leads to reconciliation, as she forgives him for secretly paying for his mother's surgery—a decision that has complicated repercussions involving his family and some unsavory lenders. The plot thickens with a cliffhanger when Jacqueline's mother discovers that her son, and Jacqueline's brother, Michael, has been murdered, adding another layer of intrigue to their story. What an amazingly good read.

Continued chemistry and suspense for Jacqueline and Dante!!
Jacqueline and Dante's story continues in Dark Redemption. Even though secrets came to the surface, Jacqueline and Dante found their way back to each other. They still have issues to work through; however, their chemistry is unmistaken. I could not put this book down as it had a lot to keep my attention: twists, turns, sizzling chemistry, unveiled secrets, suspense and more. I can not wait for the conclusion of Jacqueline and Dante's story in the third installment. You will not be disappointed but know this book does end on a cliffhanger. You will need to read the series in order. Enjoy!!!

We pick up where we left off with the first book in the series. Dante’s been hiding a secret and when Jacqueline finds out there’s no turning back. The chemistry between them is fire, but the lies and secrets are too much for Jacqueline and she pushes Dante away and just as she’s second guessing what she done there’s a misunderstanding that puts months between them. When date intervened on a girls trip these two reconnect, but the brothers are hiding something, something that Dante is trying to make amends for and I can’t wait to find out what that is.

The second book in the Dark Intentions series is awesome. Dante and Jacqueline’s relationship is on, then off, then back on again. It will keep your head spinning! When they’re together the attraction is hot and intense. I couldn’t believe Dante’s mother’s reaction to the money situation. That was a bit harsh!! I am so curious about the secret that he’s hiding. I can’t wait to see how that plays out. I’m enjoying this series So much. It’s exciting, entertaining and romantic. *this review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*

Dark Redemption #2 by Charlotte Byrd
The first book was amazing and book two is even better. I love the character that Charlotte Byrd has created. They all fit together in odd ways that are believable. I love it when a book can suck you in, where you feel like you know all the characters. We get to know their family and friends in this second book. I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves mystery and a great love story, it keeps the pages turning. I received this book from Book Funnel and voluntarily reviewed the book.

This is the second book in this trilogy and it begins where book one ends. Please read Dark Intentions first so you are not lost. This book is full of intrigue and lots of secrets. The secrets pull at them though their chemistry is really strong. This book keeps you reading to the end which of course ends in another cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing how this one wraps up. I'm sure it is going to be good.

Well, things are getting very interesting in Jacqueline and Dante's story. They continue to have an intense spark between them and their ups and downs kept me on the edge of my seat. I love the secrets, the mystery, and how well that all had me pulled in to their story. I'll be waiting for the next book in this series!

I’m really struggling with these books. I love Charlotte byrds writing normally but I just can’t get into these at all. Im not feeling any real chemistry between the main characters and there is a lot of descriptive writing, what they are eating, and drinking. I now know how to make a mojito lol but it all just feels like padding. I’m two books into the series and I don’t feel like anything much has happened. There are hints that the story might be warming up so I’m going to keep going and hope

This series is spellbinding to me. I love how the plot thickens with each book and book two had my attention 100% I couldn't break away once I started reading it. Secrets have a way of sneaking out and as they do I find myself obsessed with knowing the who, what and where of things. Waiting for the next book in this series is hard for me, but it will be worth it.

This is the second book in the Dark Intension series. You must read book one first. As Jaqueline and Dante's story picks up and continues things get more intense and the suspense deepens. I love the sizzling attraction that burns between these two. Raw emotion, drama, tension, twists, secrets, lies and mystery lure you in, keep you captivated and leave you on the edge, craving more and anticipating what comes next. It's a rich and luscious tale that is a sinfully decadent way to get your read on. Can't wait for the next book. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Loving this series, so many twists coming out! I’m a little confused as in the first book I though Alexa was Jaqueline’s sister but haven’t heard of her since? Getting more and more intriguing now though, cannot wait for the next book!
