I gave it a two because you should have let it end. Has gone on long enough. Making more stories from this series is just a punishment to what was a great series that was starting to drag
This book should not be read alone. You really should start at the beginning of the series. Emma Griffin starts as an agent who is alone, encounters a series of mysteries and arrests which leads her to a place filled with family and closure. But as with any good book series, leaves you hanging with a twist at the end. I also love that the author includes a character with autism that becomes a valuable part of her team and chosen family.
I have read every book in this series and am amazed by the sheer will and courage of this woman. I am glad to see she finally got to the bottom of her bosses involvement. And I believe she finally ended the Dragon. But who is the mystery called that is "back"? What a great hook! This book has complicated plots and interesting characters. It's hard to put down. Can't wait for the next book!
The storyline was fantastic as always and I cannot wait for the next one. However, there were many places where I had to stop and go back to figure out what something meant because of typos. Just needs some cleaning up. :)
Although this one is better than the last one. I can even understand that since the story is about Emma, I just don’t understand why she has to save everyone else in the story. Can’t someone, even her fiancé, save themselves? Then Emma passes out without explanation of how they all meet up and get off the island. AJ Rivers goes into a lot of detail about Emma’s fight with the bad guy but skips over the details of getting off the island? Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I’ve enjoyed the Emma Griffin series. Did anyone else notice that when referencing the Dragon’s name, it kept switching between Darren and Damian? Typos?
I loved this series and am so sad there are no more books at the moment. I miss the characters already. Anyone else picture Jim Parsons as Xavier and Jim Hopper as Sam? 😂

Review: I am in love with this series. I have read every single book so far and they always draw me in. This one was no different. Emma Griffin is a force to be reckoned with and I wish I was her. Her ability to fight through everything and get the answers she knows are buried makes her a true inspiration. This book uncovers secrets about Greg’s death and the ending will surprise you! I recommend picking up this series if you have not already! It’s a great thriller read!
Back with Emma and her search of the truth. She is still trying to find out what happened to her ex, who appeared dead just a few hours after getting out of the hospital. She finally gets back in the investigation, and starts discovering that things are way more complicated than she first thought and that there may be a conspiracy going all the way up. As always is Emma against the world. She is better at asking for help, but she still loves to do things on her own. Not for the first time she ends up getting over her head, and in danger, but again, not for the first time, she manages to solve the mystery and save the day. It all ends where it started, once all the pieces fell in place, she was able to solve all her open cases, once again. The series goes for seasons, and this one is the end of the second season. It was a very neat way of closing the cycle, but at the same time, I don't love that it ends with a cliffhanger. I think the series is great, in a case by case setting, it's cool when the cases connect, but it also makes it feel a little forced, how it just happens that all her cases end up connected. This is a series that I definitely recommend, even with the little issues, it's still great and very entertaining.
Emma is still focused on solving Greg’s death but her supervisor Creagan is pulling her back. He tells her he’s beginning to think she killed Greg. A witness to the shooting death of Greg tells what she saw but it doesn’t add up. Emma has the key that Grey was trying to get to her and remembers seeing one like it on Creagan’s keyring. What does the key go to? How is Creagan connected to The Order, Jonah, and The Dragon?
Emma is an excellent detective and is getting too close to the truth for Creagan so he has her arrested for Greg's murder. She has to find out the truth fast or he will see that she goes to prison. She faces off against Darren Blackwell (The Dragon) and he loses. She remembers that in order to be initiated into the Order, a new member has to kill. If Creagan has her sent to prison, that will make him a member. Back in Virginia, she shows the dead body of The Dragon to Creagan. He is on his way to prison.
Emma and Sam finally marry but she gets a surprise from Jonah. He sends her a photo of her and Sam and she realizes he was somewhere close at the wedding. Then she gets a phone call from him telling her he's back. What mischief is he up to now?
Barely 3 stars, ok not even barely 3 stars. Only reason I gave it 3 is because of the characters. I love all the characters. BUT this story. OMG....forgive my thoughts all over the place but then if you've been reading this series you are probably use to it. How, I ask, HOW MANY times do you start this story over? Just when I thought that story line was done....HE'S BACK! The story always seems all over the place - to the point I find it hard to follow, too many characters. Every book ends up, almost everyone left for dead and the next day they are back fighting the bad guys. Just not buying this story much anymore. Only thing that might suck me into reading the remaining books, is the characters and then I can definitely see myself skimming most of the nonsense. The author needs to somehow keep the characters, Bellemy, Eric, Dean, Sam, Xavier (especially Xavier) and come up with a new take on this series. UGH!
Outstanding book! This book ties up lots of ends that have been hanging in the series. It also reveals a traitor that I won't reveal in case you haven't read it yet! Emma is still investigating Dean's death even though her boss is against her working the case. At one point in this book she becomes the prime suspect in his death! The twists and turns in this book keep you reading, and the character of Xavier is further developed. Ava also is shown in a new light and it looks like she will be a good FBI agent. I would recommend reading all 13 previous books in this series before this one, because, as you go, you figure out a little more of the puzzle each time. Kudos to A. J. Rivers for constantly keeping us intrigued! *I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
You know how it is when you feel like you are reading about old friends? That's how these books feel. For the last five books I’ve been absolutely loving reading the chatter between Xavier and.. well everyone! I love his character and his mindset. There are many things about Xavier that never cease to amaze me. But one is how he's able to see life only moving forward.
And you think that all loose ends are neatly tied up in this book. Then ending the second season of this series by finally getting Sam and Emma married. But— hey! Jokes on you. Here’s another cliffhanger. Off I go to Season 3, Book 15!
Emma continues to be an amazing FBI agent, fiancee, daughter and friend - even as she breaks rules, works with civilians and local law enforcement, and defies and makes an enemy of her boss... This is a complex installment of the Emma Griffin "The Girl..." novels. A lot of characters to keep track of, and a couple of times it lost me. A good proofreader could fix a few grammatical errors, which would help a reader like me, but all in all, another enjoyable episode.
I think you should read these from the beginning, especially if you are going to read this one. There is a lot of back story you need to understand what all happens in the 14th book in Emma Griffin FBI Series. Emma is still looking into Greg's case. This case will take her some places she wishes she didn't have to go. But, with the help of the Agent she is mentoring and her 'family' she will be able to get thru it. She also will put away one thing from her past for good.
I read this book as an ARC in exchange of an honest review. Emma is unofficially investigating the strange death of an ex-boyfriend. Pulled off the case once, she still is hunting down clues, Very well written, great characters, and a plot with plenty of twists. This series has been great, but can be read as stand a lones. But you continue with many of the crew with Emma. Like visiting an old friend, enjoy!
Just as always, we start with investigation work by our known characters, then we as readers are taken for a ride that is a thrill a minute! Rivers has this way of pulling us into this enigma of what is agent Emma Griffin’s life. Then, the last third of the book is just bold and thrilling. I love to read about strong women characters that reap the benefits of their empowerment!
Typical twisting, contorted story of FBI Emma Griffin
Wil she ever truly be rid of the evil in her life, to marry her soulmate and best friend Sheriff Sam Johnson? Only time and chosen family and friends can tell…once again The Order, DRAGON AND THE FBI, all tangled together to provide mystery, intrigue and LAST MINUTE twists to discover if Emma will be victorious or evil will continue 😱
This story just keeps getting better and better. Emma's ability to feel the things that others have suffered in their lives keeps this agent on her toes. She knows where her friends are as well as her foes. She also feels Sam inside and as she marries him, she knows her life is as it should be. But wait a minute she sees something on the gift table out of the norm then her phone rings....
I'm happy that the author created other series for some of the other characters but I absolutely love this series. Xavier makes me laugh a lot but I like them all but Emma acts cocky sometimes I don't like her when she thinks she is all that but most of the time I like her. I highly recommend this series. I also got the Ava James series and Dean Steele and the new Emma series!!!
Get your hits in but noone is taking Emma Griffin down
Emma goes through hell and back a few times but always keeps standing. It was surprising to see how many shenanigans there are in the very organizations that are to protect justice. Emma goes round and round both physically and mentally. Someone is definitely out to put her through a lot of bologna. Evil rears its ugly head but Emma stays strong. Definitely recommend.
The Girl and the Dragon's Island is by far my favorite book of the series so far!!! So many questions finally answered and that Twist had my going OMG!!! I highly recommend you read this entire series! It's well written and will keep you constantly guessing on what is going to happen next!!! I absolutely love it so much.
This is true most enthralling series ever written. There is nothing else quite like it. I have enjoyed each and every one and hate having to wait for the next. But then when it is available, it's just as exciting s the first one was. Fantastic characters, spell-binding plots and an imagination that doesn't quit make A. J. Rivers a don't miss author.
This book flowed right along. No lapses. Kept my attention from start to finish. I found 2 errors. Page 114 the word "look" is missing from the sentence "his voice trails off and when I ____ over at him.....Page 253 the last sentence makes no sense "then I really a, screwed". Should be "am"
The Girl and the Dragon's Island(Emma Griffin FBI Mystery Book 14)
OMG!!!!!!!!! I loved it. I am so happy that the "Dragon" finally got what he deserved, I am also happy the Creigen also got what he deserved. I don't think he is going to live very long, I think the Order of Promethesis will do very poorly as well. I can't wait to move onto the next chapter.
Emma finally got the records of Greg's murder and was able to piece the crime together and solve the murder. But to go back to the island to find evidence and clean up for the people was difficult. What she went through and meet up with the Dragon was very challenging. Good reading.
Gripping, story. Wonderful details, twists and turns. Very much looking forward to next season of Emma Griffin's investigations. And hopefully she will share her grandmothers cinnamon roll recipe.
AJ Rivers is an awesome writer. After reading the first book in the series I just had to keep going, waiting impatiently for the next one to come out. I would strongly suggest this series of Emma Griffin!
