He’s the grumpy, broody, sheriff who knows how to use handcuffs.
She’s the sunshine, hot mess express wrecking havoc in his town and his life.
Sharing his bed with her wasn’t part of the plan…

Aidan Reynolds’ life is simple. Orderly. Just the way he likes it.

As interim sheriff with a woefully understaffed force, he doesn’t have time for Megan Gentry, the beautiful, big city stranger who just caused a traffic jam in the town square.

He’s just doing his job making sure her car gets towed. It’s the right thing to do, escorting an injured woman to the town doc.

He’s just being a decent guy by offering her a temporary place to stay. His mama raised him right, after all.

Besides, he can keep his hands to himself.

Maybe.

How does a man pass up his favorite pie made from scratch, even if she destroys his kitchen? Or resist unexpected, mind blowing kisses in the dark?

With Megan, he’s breaking all his rules, consequences be damned.

She believes in love and he gave up on that emotion a long time ago.

When it’s her time to leave Madison Ridge, he’ll watch her drive away.

Even if it wrecks his heart in the process.

Author's Note: A steamy opposites attract, small town romance with a charmingly messy heroine, broody, protective hero, and a new perspective on caramel syrup.

If you're looking for a quick and sexy small town romance, this is a solid pick. It's kinda predictable with a few clichés that I rolled my eyes at (a protective sheriff who has "rules" for his dating life and likes a lot of dirty talk that involves what a "bad girl" his woman has been), but the writing is good overall. I personally think that the first two books in the series of interconnected standalones were stronger, but it wasn't a bad way to spend my day. If you haven't read the first two books, you won't have any trouble following along, but fans of the series will appreciate the small town connections. It's an easy, steamy read, and I enjoyed it overall.

The story follows Aidan and Megan, two strangers who meet when Megan is in a car accident. Newly divorced, Megan is supposed to be passing through town when her car is damaged, and now she needs to stick around while the considerable repairs are made. As a sheriff's deputy, Aidan has a protective steak, and he can't seem to stay away from the sexy stranger who is so clearly in need of a helping hand. Aidan reluctantly opens up his home to Megan, and it's not long before his heart begins to open up to her as well. But Megan is just passing through town, and neither one is looking for a relationship - so the chemistry that sparks between is more trouble than anything.

I liked both of these characters quite a bit, and I never mind the strong, silent type of hero. Aidan may be reserved and reluctant about falling in love, but he's got a sweet side that made him easy to like. I do wish that this felt more original; the first two books in the series had more interesting and unique storylines, while this one didn't hold many surprises. I've definitely read many books like this one before, but sometimes that's just what you're craving. Ultimately, this sits somewhere between 3 and 4 stars for me, but I liked the majority of it. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this strangers to lovers romance.

A fun, quick read with a small town alpha sheriff and the damsel in distress. Not that bad. We have read the story before; think steamy Hallmark movie!

Megan is in an accident as she drives through town. Newly divorced and on her way south to a job and her brother. All she sees is dollar signs, doctor visit, hotel bill, and car repairs. However, it is tourist season, and no rooms are available.

Aiden is the Sheriff's deputy who rolls up to the accident. He takes charge of the situation with the out-of-towner and gets her the help she needs. Then, with considerable damage to her car, and no place to stay, Aiden opens his home to Megan.

Neither is looking for a relationship; he has “rules,” and she is passing through. With they open their hearts to each other?

Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This was a quick read. I enjoyed Aiden and Megan's story. It was definitely very instant attraction/love. Like I'm talking within the first meeting, they are already feeling it, lol. But it was done the right way.

Aiden is working through some issues from his past with losing his dad. He doesn't want to get involved long-term with anyone. Megan has her own issues to resolve with men, so they are really perfect for each other.

I think the thing I do love about this series, is how they dynamic is written with the family, siblings, and cousins. I just love how close they all are and how they all look out for one another. It's really refreshing.

Wreck Me is the third book in the Madison Ridge series but I read it as a stand-alone and had no problem catching up. It was a quick, opposites-attract, small-town romance and perfect for a day of reading. The characters were charming and easy to fall in love with.
Megan was just passing through Madison Ridge on the way to her brother’s house in Florida. She had just gone through a nasty divorce and needed to start her life over. Aiden was the interim sheriff in the small town of Madison Ridge. He didn’t want to babysit anyone especially the woman that seemed to bring out feelings he did not want to feel. He had a rule of not allowing anyone other than his family close after experiencing so much pain after the death of his parents. Will he break his rule for a future with the charming Megan?
This was fun opposites attract with a broody hero that came to realize how solitary he had allowed his life to become after having Megan crash into his life. I enjoyed reading and look forward to future books in the series.

This is a great small-town read with great characters, Aiden and Megan.

Megan is looking for a fresh start and wants to take care of herself and not be dependent on others. She’s on her way to her “new life” when fate intervenes. Meghan has an unexpected chance meeting with Aiden and he feels responsible to he takes her in when she has nowhere else to go.

Aiden is living a quiet life with a crazy work schedule and was not planning on having to care for an injured stranger. However, there’s no way he’s leaving Megan alone due to her current condition/situation.

As their friendship grows so do their feeling. Aiden may come across as a quiet man but when things heat up he has an alter ego. Lol. And he does give new meaning to Carmel sauce…I think I need to go buy some.

Great story filled with care, love, understanding isn’t and new beginnings.

I requested and arc and I am proving my honest review.

Aidan and Megan were such cute characters and I was routing for them to find the love they both didn't think they ever would. Aidan is his town's deputy and one day a traffic accident leads him to Megan who is just going through town on her way to live with her brother. Aidan doesn't want the drama that he thinks this lady will cause but something about her that draws him in and he can't seem to resist. Megan is on a man hiatus after her last relationship ended in a disastrous way so her attraction to Aidan is something she tries to fight but she can't seem to stop it. They both decide to just enjoy the time that they do have together and not worry about anything else, but will feelings get involved and cause issues? Can they let each other go when time runs out or will they take a chance on something more?

I was looking forward to going back to Madison Ridge, and it didn't disappoint.

Aidan and Megan's story grabbed me right away, and I fought hard because sleep kept wanting to take over. Why do we need sleep, anyway?

A steamy story that isn't afraid to broach on tough subjects like domestic abuse and grief. I was pleased to see that, for once, domestic abuse wasn't set in the lower social classes, contrary to a frequent preconceived idea.
As for grief, the book shows well how important it is to pay attention to the things we tell our children, making sure we don't put too much weight on their young shoulders.

As usual, Eliza Peake laces difficult topics into her well-written, flowing story with multi-faceted characters. A brilliant book to crown a brilliant series.

I am reviewing from an ARC copy I received as a follower of Eliza Peake.

Small-town romance with plenty of heat! Who wouldn’t like to be taken care of by the burly, broody, protective sheriff in town? Megan literally crashes her car and proceeds to wreck Aiden’s life, infiltrating every part of his system. He’s gruff, but has a soft (and naughty) inside, taking responsibility for Megan while her car is being repaired. Aiden is yet another one of my favorite book boyfriends from the mind of author Eliza Peake!

I loved seeing some of the characters from the other Madison Ridge books make an appearance, the charm of the small town setting on full display. Even though this book is part of a series, you can totally read them as standalones (and you should!) Eliza is a one-click author for me! Seriously, read her books!

Aiden is the interim sheriff in his small town of Madison Ridge. Megan is a woman passing through who ends up in a car wreck which throws his life into more chaos than just his job since he finds himself really going out of his way to help her. She thought she would be gone quickly, but that wasn't the case so they're in close proximity (she's temporarily staying with him), and the sparks are flying in all directions. They really become undeniable which will cause some issues since neither wants a relationship, and there's an expiration date as Megan was always just passing through town. However, there are those pesky feelings getting caught, but will he try to stop her from leaving for a shot at a better future?! Well, I'll never tell, so you know what to do! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Aiden, sheriff meets Megan, passing through town, when she has been involved in an accident. Suffering with concussion and need of being watched over, Aiden offers her a place to stay when all rooms in the inn and hotel are fully occ occupied. The sta start of a relationship between 2 people who each have a reason for avoiding becoming involved. A bumpy road ahead and when their strengths are tested, the couple split up because Aiden gets scared...eventually he sees how wrong he is and the misery he is feeling. There is a bonus offering at the end of the book to take the story a little further.

Megan is chaos walking. She is on the way to her brothers and a job post divorce when she gets in a car accident. Aiden is the deputy sheriff who shows up on scene. He is a straight and narrow, rule follower who is blown away by the mess of a woman he meets. The town has no vacancies as they are in the mist of tourist season so being the good cop he is he offers his spare room to her while her car is fixed. This is a slow burn of opposites. Will she be able to change his strict ways and force him to allow some chaos into his life? Great story.

Megan is getting out of a bad relationship and just wants to start life over. When something unforeseen happens, she runs right into the deputy sheriff. Wow, he might totally change her attitude towards a relationship. On his side he never wanted to be with someone. He just wanted to be alone and spare himself pain, but meeting Megan shakes his resolve.. They almost wreck it but hopefully they can get back on track.

This is a sweet, fun, quick and sexy small-town romance.

Megan is on a man-hiatus after her last relationship ended badly. She is just looking for a fresh start. Her unexpected chance meeting and attraction with Aiden is something she tries to fight. Aiden is also denying it. But you know they can't stop it. It's inevitable with these two. Their chemistry and instant attraction said so.

I definitely enjoyed this one.

This story is cute. Predictably aside, it is enjoyable and I had no trouble getting into it.
The town sheriff’s deputy and the woman that literally blows through town..opposites and nowhere near relationship material, one lives there and the other is passing through..yet the chemistry is there..
What will happen when is time for Megan to leave? Will Aidan let her go?
As I said, enjoyable and sweet

Suspence

Liked that the writer captured the tension between the leadcharacters n how it builds up throughout the story. The twists and the characters ghosts from the past and how that formed their way of looking at things is making a great story. Would have liked a bit more about how her previous husband and family treated her, like some more detailed backflashes. To get inside of her a little bit more.

I really loved Aidan and Megan's story. It was obvious right off that these two had chemistry. Aidan is the sort of man most women would want I suppose. He is strong, protective, caring, and good in other areas that are important. How could Megan refuse that? The way Eliza Peake writes this hot, steamy story definitely leaves you wanting more.

Best book of the series

I really enjoyed reading Aidan and Megan’s story. He protects his family, the people of the town and his heart from harm. She’s starting over after a failed marriage and wants to find herself again. It was only supposed to be temporary…

What a stupid idiot insipid female character Megan was. She should have been left alone with her stubborn self and when she got dizzy and hit her head somewhere, it would have knocked some sense into her. Whacko nonsense. Total trash. Bye bye.

Wreck Me is an adorable small-town romance about a grumpy deputy sheriff and gorgeous woman who gets into a car accident as she was passing by. Oh, the slow burn!

Aidan Reynolds is focused on his job and his family, doing what is right and not letting anyone in. He believes love happens to others, and it's better not to get burn and hurt. Megan Gentry is passing through Madison Ridge as she leaves behind her ex and her old life in Nashville. She needs to find herself and her worth without being attached to a man. But an accident will force her to stay in the charming small town while her classic car gets repaired. Except its high tourist season and there is no place to stay so Aidan, against his better judgment, offers her a room in his cabin. After all, he is just doing his job as a public servant. The attraction is instant and, as much as both fight it, it can't be denied.

Aidan's grumpiness is proportionate to his huge heart because, as much as he tries to deny it, he cares. He is a man of few words, but he oozes sexiness and protectiveness. Megan has been badly hurt, yet she is strong and fierce. She is not looking for a man, much less a relationship. She is far quicker to understand feelings and Aidan. Because in the end, they might have more in common than they initially thought.

While Wreck Me is part of the Madison Ridge series, it can be read as a standalone (each book is about a different couple). Eliza Peake's signature storytelling has a way to lure you in and make you care about the characters. This story is perfect for slow summer days.
