Claudia Danforth thought she had found a backdoor into one of Selecta Corporation's most critical computer systems, but what she actually stumbled upon was a trap set for bad girls.
Bad girls like her.
Despite the eighteen-year-old hacker's best efforts to remain stoic as she is taken into custody and stripped bare, Claudia is soon sobbing as she is soundly spanked and blushing crimson as her helpless arousal is put on shameful display during a thorough, intimate medical examination.
But a burning bottom is just the beginning of Selecta's plans for Claudia. She has been assigned to the care of three firm-handed military officers, each of whom she will be made to call daddy, and her beautiful virgin body will be theirs to punish, use, and enjoy in any way they see fit.
They're everything she's always feared... and exactly what she's always needed.
Publisher's Note: What Bad Girls Fear is the sixth entry in the series The Institute: Bad Girls. The books of this series are stand-alone novels which share the same near-future setting as The Institute Series. What Bad Girls Fear includes spankings, sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.
Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.
Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.
Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.
How to review this. It’s not my usual genre but I thought to try something new and different to my usual books. It turned out not to be to my tastes unfortunately.
The writing was good, characters were interesting and had depth and their personalities were good and different. Unfortunately I found I’m not into what I would deem to be forced sex and punishment. I get that some are great with it, and it’s each to their own. However it’s not for me, but you don’t know till you try.
3:1 story that was interesting. Hacker punished by becoming a submissive sex stress reliever for fighter pilots. Got to do her day job naked with a butt plug. Spanking, anal, oral, and regular all mixed together.
Getting caught is bad. Our heroine getting caught by Selecta is really bad.
This is an erotic dystopian novel with a lot of steam. This is also book six of this particular series, but it is written as a standalone, sharing only a setting. So no prior reading is required.
If you have read any of the previous books by this author, then you know what to expect. For those that have not, the world is in a bit of a mess (note: dystopia) and sexual punishment and manipulation have become the norm in multiple sectors, both public and private. Which as one might expect, can be quite erotic from a fictional standpoint.
In some ways, the author almost does too good a job of writing her stories and developing her setting. The situations and characters seem real and that can cause just a bit of unease at the plight of our heroine in some readers. That being said, this is fiction and as long as we keep that in mind, the story is very well developed, highly enjoyable and very steamy. Fans of D/S and punishment should really enjoy the story.
Highly recommended.

From college hacker to SRD hacker. Claudia Danforth computer hacker got caught and now she has to pay for that mistake. If you have read other books by Emily Tilton you will know what an SRD is and that is what Claudia is. The girl does not go down easy either. She is a fighter but that pesky old-fashion discipline keeps getting in the way. This is society that just full of nastiness, secret laws and programs, and humiliation is the name of the game for their captives. They play mind games on their victims and this book shows just how well they do it but Claudia is a fighter. I really did not like the guys in this one I was rooting for Claudia all the way. I love when I get involved in a story. I really enjoyed the book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I’ve read all the books in Emily’s Bad Girls series and I like this new twist - this is the first one written in first person point of view. Actually I can’t remember an Emily Tilton written in this POV so maybe it’s a totally new thing?
In any case I didn’t think it would make that much difference but it really does. I enjoyed the other bad girl books but there’s something about being right in Claudia’s head while she’s “taught” that brings a whole new layer of heat.
Also being a real-life coder myself I was pleased that the technical speak included - minimal that it was - was passable and not thrown together terms as is often the case.
Claudia is a computer hacker who has got caught and now she must pay the price. A great continuation in this naughty series set in a dystopian world with rules different from our own reality and in which web Claudia finds herself caught up in. Can she break free? Does she really want to? The formula is very similar to previous books in this series, but is one that I enjoy all the same. You are guaranteed to enjoy steamy scenes throughout.

What Bad Girls Fear (The Institute: Bad Girls Book 6) By Emily Tilton 4 Stars
Jaw dropping good!!! Omg this is one book that will leave you with your face flushed, gasping and just plain surprised on what goes on. Wow!!!I Talk about bad girls, lol,
Kuddos to Author Emily Tilton who sure can come up with some situations that have me shaking my head and wondering just how in the heck does she do research on subjects like this.
I have voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review for it. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
I couldn't get into this book. There was so much internal monologue while events where going on it was difficult to follow along with the actual story. I means PAGES of internal thoughts... to the point that Ijust about forgot what going on. Plus it's one of those kidnap/terrorize a person yet somehow they like it & it's "for their own good". Give me a break.
Bad girl Claudia gets her discipline from not one, not two, but three extremely dominant and strict daddies in this full-length story. There’s plenty of “correction” in this story, and a tiny bit of plot, and a limited about of “feelings”. A spicy read, for sure!
