Let it Meow! When Matt met Aurelia, he knew she was the one, and when he asked her to marry him and she said yes, he was the happiest man alive. Until he met her dad and discovered that her dad… was his dad, too! And so when Matt and his dad walked into Odelia’s office with a very special proposition, it was immediately clear to me that here was a problem we’d never faced before. It was probably a problem no one has ever faced before. So how do you solve the unsolvable?
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
I found this story very entertaining. I'm always amazed by the craziness of human nature and the added perspective of the cats. What do you do when your son finds out you're his fiance's stepfather? Wait...how did that happen? And what do you do when your father asks you to keep his secret? Just make sure your fiance doesn't plan a weekend trip to a Vale Ski Lodge for both families to meet. There's always the possibility your mom and hers will bond while chasing down their husband for dinner, breakfast, just any get-together they can organize. On top of that, there's a couple side stories taking place and oh my goodness, Odelia's who family showed up for the craziness and her father is now involved. So hilarious. I am go glad I have followed the Poole's and Max and the other cats since book one. Such a fun series.
Well, I wasn’t thrilled with the original premise of the book it’s ridiculous nature grew on me. We still ended up ith a good robbery and detective story in the end. Comic relief from original story and add in our favourite thieves Johnny and Jer trying to stay on the good side!! All in all not bad!!
Loved this storyline. Very well written story of the families of Jack/Jock and the consequences of bigamy. His son, Matt had fallen in love with his stepdaughter. This story is a riot as Jack/Jock tried to keep all the parties from finding out about his problem.
This Max mystery was totally fantastic!!! I absolutely loved the story line in this one. It was so much fun and quite hilarious. Between the goings on with Jack/Jock and the funny wit of our Dooley I nearly laughed myself silly. But as usual, all's well that ends well!
Ok, so the author found a way to put forth a story, but this time without anybody being murdered. It involves a man being married to two women at the same time and being the father/stepdaughter of a couple wanting to get married. Very interesting storyline to develop and bring to an end.
Another fun adventure for Max and the gang, albeit slightly silly, as they get involved in helping a young man keep his father's two families separate at a ski lodge. At the same time they help locate a stolen artefact.
A young couple decided to get married, so invited both families to a ski resort for the weekend. That’s when the fun begins, with a theft of priceless jewelry, and Max and friends go skiing for the first time!
I love this series! Nic did a great job on all the characters. The cats are a hoot. There is always a twist, and the "Who done it!?" is not who you usually think it is. I will be sad when this series ends. Worth reading!!
This one is a mystery but not a murder mystery, which was a nice bit of a change. It's a bit of a comedy of errors and much of the plot required a whole lot of suspension of logic. But then, it is after all a fantasy.
Take a couple in love, A movie star, a bigamist, two reformed (?) crooks and add the Poole clan. You get one hilarious story that keeps you wondering what will happen next! A departure from Max's usual cases but a great, fun read!
I was quite disappointed in with this book. I enjoy Max and the gang but this plot lacked so much. No shenanigans the cats usually go through and no great mystery, The jewel thief was obvious to begin with and Jack-Jock had no personality.

This time the story is about a husband with two wives and a son and daughter who want to get married. What a laugh about all that! Also about a stolen diadem. And Max solves the case! A fun read!
I figured that!!!! Too much similar, wasn’t there??? Come on Max, let’s get things straightened out!!! Wow!!! I never saw that coming, did I??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
This story was the best yet to me. Even though you may guess where the story goes the twists along the way are quite humorous! Looking forward to the next episode.
Great Read!….i enjoy reading Nic Saint’s books. Always entertaining and interesting. I’ve read a lot of his stories ever since he was recommended to me !!!
