Explosions are easily triggered when two headstrong individuals try to manoeuvre around each other's flaws. Then again, only another fire would know how to read the dance of one's flames.
After a turbulent start, Cara and William are fully immersed in their all-consuming chemistry. Between secret kisses at work and lustful grazes after dark, they hardly have the mind for anything but each other. Madly in love, William goes all out to romance Cara – brings her on wonderful dates, assists her career, and offers support through her personal hardships. It becomes clear to her that William has truly changed his ways. But just when things are starting to look up for the couple, the past strikes. A moment is all it takes; everything they have fought so hard to build is put at risk. This time, Cara may be too late.

Sound the alarm and let off the extinguisher because this book is packing some heat
When I first started this book, I proclaimed that I would read slowly to appreciate it better… but alas, that turned out to be the biggest lie since: ‘I’m only going out for one drink.’ When people say a book is a page turner, this is what they mean.
In the second instalment of The Night series, Into the Night continues from where we left William and Cara in the first book and sees them begin to build their relationship, working through their different perceptions of what it means to be romantically committed to another and witnessing for the first time the very thing that might ultimately tear them apart. But…if you want the summarised version of events, I can break it down further, it goes a bit like this: Will and Cara set about breaking the Scoville scale while simultaneously completing the Karma Sutra. So yeah, Matthew Walker please cover your eyes while everyone prepares to read long into the night.
Now that Cara has claimed her W.N. medal and finally upgraded her relationship subscription, she holds the key to more than just William’s heart. She has an absolute ball messing with William’s head at both day and night, putting in some hard night shifts at work and coming in hot tenfold during this explosive sequel, she certainly reveals her deep appreciation for… grapes (especially that of French heritage). Undoubtedly, going into this new dynamic, William and Cara don’t see eye to eye on everything and some conversations are left lost in translation, in Cara’s head It might seem like, at times, Will is speaking another language entirely – a tour de force on Claire’s part – but they are constructive in their communication while staying true to their beliefs which is gratifying to witness. During these disagreements they also demonstrate their incendiary rhetoric, firing one another up in ways that only they seem to manage with their scorching sarcasm and, truthfully, it’s not Will’s fireplace that is being set alight after reconciliation. The temperature between these two makes me feel like I’ve stepped into Dalí’s ‘The Persistence of Memory’ with the way it achieves liquefaction, but the temperature is a lot more than: switch on your AC, it’s a little steamy in here ‘hot’, it’s: let me just plunge myself into the nearest active volcano to cool off ‘hot’. If it’s possible for a book to physically burn you through merely reading It, this one manages it. You like that? YES, WE DO!
I can validate that Cara gives just as good as she gets in all aspects of life which is important because she’s undeniably met her match. Really, it’s a good thing she was once a goalie as outplaying William’s proficient-pillow-striking-skills seems like a task unto itself, but she need not have even mentioned It for William has always known she was a keeper. It’s indisputable that Will is a star throughout, and the flight of his devotion reaches celestial peaks in this book. While he remains consumed with what's to transpire, I just hope he doesn’t fly too close to another sun. This book really does take you through it all because together, these two stand out as one in seven billion. At one point the floodgates opened in a big way. Not to be dramatic but the amount of crying I did could have risen water levels high enough for my surroundings to resemble the current state of the titanic – and it’s just the tip of the iceberg in this story! My heart will not go on.
So, in summary this book made me laugh, reflect, want to voluntarily jump in a 1200℃ pool of molten rock and fill a room with 323 million cubic kilometres of my own tears. Evocative stuff wouldn’t you agree? It’s clear that C.K. Bennett has perfected her craft, as she once again demonstrates her unquestionable talent for writing a contemporary romance that imparts something onto its readers. With individual, authentic side characters each adding so much to the plot, heartfelt connections, and a book cover glorious in green, Into the Night is a study in excellence. Claire has built palaces out of paragraphs, skyscrapers out of sentences! Truly, Will are Cara are incandescent and I’ve been hypnotized by the lights.
Think Cara has something to say to you William… so keep the flame alight 🚾, as you get lost in the night.
As if the first book in the series wasn’t amazing enough, the sequel “Into the Night”, is electrifying! “Into the Night” is astonishing, this book will leave you wanting more, swooning and breathless over William and Cara’s relationship. If you thought the first book was incredible, wait until you read “Into the Night”.
This book definitely takes William and Cara’s romance to new heights that will leave gasping and wishing to find your very own William Night.
Claire does justice by her characters and illustrates realistic issues that many couples have experienced themselves such as, jealousy and figuring out new dynamics when coming into a brand new relationship.
If I had to use specific words to describe this book I would say, explosive, passionate, endearing, hilarious, and heartfelt.
This series never disappoints, and I guarantee by the end of the book not only will you be craving more, but your love & appreciate for the story and Claire will grow immensely.
By the very end of the book, I was emotional distraught 😭 Claire has crafted these characters in a way that makes you fall in love with them, and you become emotional invested in them as well.
I have nothing but tremendous things to say about this book, and I can’t wait for the next book to come out in the future.
I highly recommend you read “Skin of the Night” first and then immediately recommend “Into the Night”.
What I had with him couldn´t be replaced. There would never be anyone else for me- not like him.
I loved this book, better than the first one in my opinion. William is so respectful and understanding towards Cara. And Cara, she reminds me so much of me. You may think that her decisions toward her and William’s relationship are just keeping them from being together but think about that it´s her first relationship and she doesn´t have any experience and may feel overwhelmed with what she is feeling around him.
I loved every bit of their story, it was beautiful, and Claire’s writing is one of the best I´ve come across. The characters are so individual, and you can only love them- sometimes I ask myself if they are real humans or not. One of my favorite characters apart from William and Cara is Jason, he is just so precious I want to hug him to death. And please THE SMUT it´s chef kiss, I don’t know how Cara didn´t end up in the ER yet.
5/5 stars this book deserves it and the last chapter- GOD it was perfect I can´t wait to read more of their story.
I was thinking about how I wanted to write this review because this book was really concerning. The author really romanticized Will’s behavior and his P.O.V’s we’re borderline scary and filled with red flags.
Sometime’s Cara would call him out on his shit that was on the surface but to see how clueless she was to Will’s behavior and how far he was willing to go to get her was not appealing.
The more I read, the more I just wanted her to ditch his ass. You know what just occurred to me he really gives me Joe from YOU vibes. Like i’m deadass this felt more like a horror novel then a romance.
If you’re reading this review trying to decide whether to read the second book don’t…it’s more or less the same as the first but now he’s even more controlling and scary and she’s just falling for that shit.
I am baffled because I had no idea these thoughts and criticisms were going around about these books and I am seriously shocked that people would not understand the thought processes behind certain scenes when reading it.
I suppose some people don’t share the same amount of intellect as the writer.
It is so clear in her writing how she brings forth all these red flags and bad behaviours but doesn’t completely change or cancel the characters themselves, she brings forth conversations, empathy and understanding towards people with different views. She shows the abilities to work with what each person offers and that with conversation and respect for the other, there is still room for love. It doesn’t over romanticise bad behaviour at all. It is brought up in a human way.
I actually learned a lot from this series already and the way I should be more patient and communicative with people who have different views than me.
I absolutely love these books and the characters, especially how they are so thoughtful of each other. Reading a book takes time and the real golden aspect of this series and the author’s ability in storytelling is how well paced it is. It explains time and situation in a way that is not rushed at all. Oftentimes in books of this genre the plot is rushed, lessons and situations are rushed through and I appreciate it so so incredibly much how the timeline here goes forth. The way you get to experience what happens as if it was actually you and the way insights, solutions and conversations oftentimes only come chapters later to a certain situation. It makes you, as a reader, think about what happened and what was said in the first place instead of immediately feeding you some kind of quick rushed answer.
Every single character in this book is flawed in some way (maybe except Jason my baby he’s so incredibly sweet) and I absolutely love how she shines light on these flaws and how the characters interact with each other and these flawed traits.
Tolerance, understanding and reflection are definitely the main themes of this whole series and I appreciate it tremendously. Such good writing to teach everyone precious lessons in life because lately we live in a society where we are quick to judge and discard others for our differences without trying to understand each other.
I want to thank the author for writing these books, I don’t think I will ever forget them. They made me think of my own personality and made me realise some flaws I have and how I can work with them through analysing and thinking with the characters.
I’m officially obsessed with this series. The first book was good but holy hell THE SECOND ONE??? DEAR LORD JUST TAKE ME NOW 😮💨. Claire Bennett really has outdone herself with this one and hello the ending ??? I wanted to throw hands.
cara and William’s chemistry in this one will leave you hot and wanting more tbh. No one compares to these two rn. We got more details about their relationship in this book unlike the first one…The sweet and soft moments between them was all I was rooting for and the spice 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵. When they have deep conversations together>>>>>. I found Cara more likable as I found her annoying in the first book. Sis just went off in this one. William makes my heart flutter. I’m in love with that man. I want to put a ring on him rn and claim him as mine. Sorry Cara 🤭 They belong together and I just can’t wait for the next book rn. I need it so badly.
I have no idea where to start. This book is a brilliant piece of art, the beauty as well as flaws of the main and side characters have been exquisitely expressed, which makes it all the more better for me. I ought to admit, this book series is a perfect balance of realistic fiction at it's best. There's no denying how much the characters have developed as an individual as well as a couple. I should warn you that this is definitely going to be a rollercoaster of emotions. It definitely was for me. Oh, how I wanted to strangle the characters sometimes🤭 But I love how the characters have a pretty healthy relationship (ofc there are some flaws here and there but come on, no real relationship is perfect) with a good communication, which is quite the contradiction to the toxic ones that are being romanticised these days. There's also no denying the fact that the efforts of the author shine throughout her work, with the immaculte chemistry and banter of the mc's, she has created a masterpiece which will undoubtedly make you fall in love with it. With that being said, if you still haven't given this book and it's prequel (SotN) a try, you are seriously missing out. So if you are into contemporary romance and don't mind reading mindblowing (or should I say vagina/dick blowing, lmao) smut, then this is 100% a must read!!!!!!!!
For 98% - literally- of this book, nothing happened. Cara just blabbered on about these “obstacles” that they had to overcome, but please let’s all be honest with each other, there wasn’t really any obstacles. The first book was mostly lacking enjoyable characters while this is simply lacking a plot.
In the last 2% something happened though. I feel like that’s the theme for all the books in this series. They are 95% blabbering and Cara being a drama queen/bitch about absolutely nothing and then for like 5% of the book something actually happens. I haven’t read the last two since they’re not released jet but I have a feeling that if the author would have just put them all together as one and deleted all the blabbering were she just repeats herself, she would have had one good book! Bc honestly, this book could have been written in 60 pages.
Let’s talk about Cara shall we? She is still this annoying character and her reasoning for her actions is just absurd. You can tell from her reasoning that she is a disgusting person, she would probably cheat and just blame it on Will. Although, there wasn’t so much of her reasoning, since no actions existed, since nothing happened in this book, hence, she didn’t bother me as much in this book as in the first - where I wanted to put my fist through her face😃
“When we’re fifty, I’m going to remember this, and even if lines have creased your pretty face by then, I’ll see the years in them that I’ve spent with you, and that will forever be more beautiful to me than any youth in the world.”
Okay, first of all as the blurb says BEWARE, huge cliffhanger at the end of the book!! ahh-- like why? now I have to wait months for book three.
I really hope CK continues and ends Cara & Will's story with a great plot. The first book was more about their first meeting and Cara deciding to give Will a chance. The second book we get to see them as couple, as team trying to make it work. Honestly I liked this book better than the first one. this is the honeymoon phase, no drama. But, Will & Cara are trying to figure it out here, they don't agree on everything but they are trying to make it work. I really like Will, yes he is super possessive but I love that. I love that Cara also fights back, she's not easily scared. I have my theories for book 3, I just need to know.... anyways, I really hope that Will & Cara can make it work.
booooooooooo even worse than the first idk why i bothered. spoiler alert but that ending? like really? he got beat up and now he’s in a coma? i hated this. might be for someone else but not for me. someone let me know how it ends when the 3rd book comes out cause i won’t be reading it.

It is pretty hard to write a review for a book such as this one, I could never put its perfection into words like Claire beautifully does. From the Skin to now carving a place Into eachothers hearts. So many emotions happened while reading Into the Night. It seems like a real story happening in London, since the author has this incredible capacity of bringing life to her characters, building them with incredible truthfulness. Which made me laugh when they did, made me cry when they did, made me feel everything they were feeling (my heart can only take so much..). The book is absolutely well written and every word, every symbol, every breath, every detail have a meaning, and that shows that Claire is an amazing writer (but I might be biased, since she's been my favourite author for a while now). The characters development is perceptible from SOTN to ITN. The psychological differences that we can see in their thoughts and in their actions is beautiful to realise, but they still got a pretty long road to go, like all of us. Something that really blows my mind is the contrast between William's and Cara's POV in the story. Claire is able to portray their minds with an intense certainty and I love that! Will's pov also might have made me, do one of Cara's favourite pastime, wall stare for a bit. This book is a must read. I absolutely loved it! I can barely wait for the sequel to come out. And, again, thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us, Claire! 🚾💕
2 stars. Literally so drawn out again, nothing much happening. And then BAM, right in the last chapter something crazy happens and we have a cliffhanger?
I- what?
I will say that Will was much better in this one, but Cara was almost insufferable with her unwillingness to acknowledge her feelings
This book is so cute. You can see Cara and Williams relationship evolve even more and the one thing I think really stood out is the communication between the two. The ending has a cliffhanger that has me super impatient for the third book.
I can't adequately express my love for Into the Night, no amount of words in any language is enough for me to describe what I have felt while reading Into the Night. Almost every review on this book is telling you how much of a page-turner this book is, but they forget to mention that sometimes you have to close the book and put it aside just to reflect on the depth of it or to simply process how deeply it makes you feel. I have been sitting in front of my computer screen for an hour now and I can't for the life of me write anything for it because it has rendered me speechless. I'm pretty sure people who have read the book, are reading the book, and will read the book in the future will feel the same as me. I don't know where to begin and where to finish and I'm pretty sure if I wrote down every thought and emotion of mine towards the book, I'll end up writing a book on my love for it. I'm a person who values communication a lot and many romances lack that very thing that makes me hold a certain degree of dislike towards them, but that's not the case when it comes to this book. Both Will and Cara actively trying to communicate to improvise and strengthen their relationship made me love their relationship more than anything. Another thing on the list of million reasons I love the book is the bond between the siblings. The banter between the Night brothers is absolutely brilliant and will make it nearly impossible for you to not laugh at their exchange and that makes the characters more relatable. Before I actually end up writing a book on my love for Into the Night, I'll force myself to conclude this review. The only advice I can give to anyone planning to read this book is to brace yourself for the most thrilling rollercoaster ride of your life, have a box of tissues next to you, and be prepared to be emotionally wrecked to the point of no recovery.
2.8. This is my preference but I like reading about RHE chase more than when the couple is alr together so this was alr off to a bad start. I felt like the entire time there wasn’t rlly a plot? It was lowks just smut and cara being insecure. The end was SOOO random I almost laughed 😭 This book put me in not 1 but 2 reading slumps. Surprised I finished this but towards the end it got better. Ig…
“Leaning next to his ear, I whispered through my inconsolable sobs, “William, I love you.”
Okay so... I loved this book. I usually like books with a plot but damn this book changes my mind. I loved the fact that we got to focus only on the characters. Ofc I got way too many times mad at Cara but like ok I get her more than I am willing to confess. Also the ending is killing me. Like how could you do this to me😭
If you’ve not read the first installment of the Night series, I strongly suggest you do so before starting the second. There is so much to unfold in ItN, I could happily write about this book forever, but unfortunately that’s impossible. Let’s begin, shall we?
First of all, be prepared for the amount of tears you’ll absolutely be leaking for this second installment. I was severely underprepared, and could barely see through my tears long enough to finish out certain chapters. You’ll be left ruminating about the nature of your own values and beliefs, once again, during and after reading ms Ck’s work.
I’ve read plenty of incredibly written love stories by amazing authors, but this story truly is reaching me on the most profound level. There’s something seriously empowering and transformative about the authors writing. Her words reach far off the pages of this beautifully illustrated book, with what feels like a direct hit to my soul. As theatrical as that may sound, I’m still not doing it the justice this book deserves.
In the second book of the Night series, Cara and Wills sizzling relationship grows from passionate and tremulous, to even more intense, but definitely more anchored. Now that Will has managed to thrust himself into Caras life, and maybe, her heart, their relationship has been provided the chance to grow in the direction -although slower than he would like- Will has been craving for all along. What I appreciate most about this novel -masterpiece even- is the authors evident intellectual acuity, as it’s especially clear in her characters and their matchless wit in both books. As things between 🚾 continue to deepen in the bedroom, and out, you realize the growth of their relationship has undisputedly manifested new layers, slowly progressing, and moving far into new territory for both Will and Cara. Although Will is more prepared to handle his feelings, he’s happily guiding cara every stop of the way. And though Cara wasn’t looking for a knight, she inadvertently found herself one anyway.
Damnnnnnn I literally forgot that the second one ends on a cliffhanger 🙄🙄🙄
Ughhh I need this third book like yesterday
I definitely like the first book more, will is so much more intense and toxic in this one but I love toxic convoluted relationships they’re exciting af
What a remarkable sequel book! I'm once again blown away by this exceptionally crafted story of my favourite pair.
The undeniable chemistry, the tones, the birth of love is positively in the air for Cara and William in this book. Their witty, dirty banters are exceedingly humorous. Let's not forget the art they're making in bed. *screams in pillow*
William Night, in this sequel, he was truly charmingly hot, no one can say otherwise. Infatuated William, is joint with sweet thoughtfulness, reminiscing every small detail Cara confided and so is everything. Whereas we get to see more and more of his sentiments, his morale regarding his stances.
Cara Jane Darby, justice, as she is altogether. I will always be forever in love and admire her strong intellect and for being the powerful badass female lead. The thorough moment I see her prospering, uncovering the ways of the different phases of love with William. Her battles to make it known for her genuine feelings pay off at last.
Entirely, it is just the best! The core of William and Cara's subject to the primary clash in this narrative. Each character in this book series has its own tale and fights to glimpse, such winsome characters. I absolutely fell in love with the ending. I can't wait for the next books to come and get immensely amazed by Claire's work of creation.
If you're into a lengthy, sizzling hot, remarkable romance that is realistically well-written, this book series is for you! ❤️🔥
Did I read the second book? yes. Why not. But, Cara, sis, u need Jesus, get a bible, take holy water. I still don’t get how ur not on life support by how many times u got at it. Anyways I’ve never been so concerned for someone’s vagina before.
I am careful not to hold romance books to a certain standard and I understand this book series is not aiming to make any kind of profound political statement. However, the author has taken care to mention feminism more than a few times, but the actual demonstration of feminist ideology throughout the dialogue & plot is very questionable. I.e. Cara apologizing for how William is feeling about her hesitancy despite her being very clear about her boundaries from the beginning. William still wanting to fight Aaron simply because he’s a part of Cara’s past, and knowingly, intentionally, and defensively directing that anger at Cara?
William’s inner monologues are incredibly long-winded, pretentious, and concerning. He sounds like a mens rights activist half of the time, despite him self-identifying as a feminist. All-in-all, it makes me question the author’s understanding and experience with feminism.
Not sure if William has some kind of massive character development later on in the book or what, but I’ve felt very unsettled by what I’ve read so far. I don’t use this word often, but honestly his thoughts are so toxic they’re borderline triggering. Not really interested in seeing how the story develops further. Dnf.

I know this book consists of way less drama and therefore potentially also less plot than the first installment of The Night Series but it's impossible to put it down nevertheless. In fact, the only reason I didn't indulge this book within one day was that I didn't want it to be over so soon. Now that I'm finished, though, I can say that this book did not bore me for one second! Into the Night focuses on how much Cara and Will's relationship develops by showing how they both, especially Cara, grow to accept their feelings for one another and it's written in the most realistic and beautiful way. After having read two books about both characters, it feels as if I actually know them because the author has a way of putting such detail into the description of their mind and their thoughts in general that Cara and Will feel like actual friends or acquaintances. I've grown so fond of the characters that I'm once again left waiting restlessly for the sequel and I can say that, in conclusion, Into the Nights did not disappoint and is definitely a must read for everyone interested in a good romance novel!
I disliked these books but one thing I will say to my fellow 1-2 star brethren: stop it with the Cara slander. She didn't do anything wrong. William is the problem. That man is one large red flag. And I will be sending a masseuse to Jason Night because I know his back be hurtin from carrying these books!! 😓😔
