Sometimes you have to cross the line. When a member of the dystopian United Provinces’ Council is murdered, Agent Samantha Wood of the Security and Defense Agency jumps on the case. As she approaches what seems to be the solution, the attack that first appeared to be an unrelated homicide is revealed to have been fueled by deeper motives. The criminal strikes repeatedly, wreaking havoc on the nation’s government—and in Sam’s life. Each attack is more personal than the last and causes Sam to wonder just how far this killer will dare to go. While hunting for the murderer, Sam’s closest—and newest—relationships are tested by the government’s strict provincial separation laws. In this post-war society where crossing borders is a crime, Sam will have to take initiative to track down the killer and eliminate the growing threat to the United Provinces. With the odds stacked against her, Sam’s will and determination push her through this increasingly difficult case—from which she can only hope to emerge unscathed.
I loved this book! I thought I had figured out how it was going to end but I was so very wrong… Great characters and fascinating concepts throughout. Can you please work with someone to build those hover planes? I’d love to know what everyone is doing now….sequel?
