Formerly run by France, independent in 1960 so 'considered a young democracy? Poverty and extreme faith issues. History says at one time there was a kingdom, eventually collapses. Peace Corps aspire to assists. National song, court system, cotton, salt and GOLD but they have to have others do that for them, child labor, caste system, military take over.

Desert creep takes away plants, impact upon animals. Traditions (puppets), holidays, multi wives, minimal education especially for females, little health care, soccer, food, some movies. Insightful. Maps.
