Ravished By The Inmate

Rate this book
He’s a death row inmate who only wants one thing… me.
When he finds out that I’m here to cover his execution, he takes me hostage.
And now, there’s nothing standing between me and the most gorgeous, most powerful, and most dangerous mob enforcer in the world: Wesley “Trigger” Balzaretti.
I should be scared, but instead I’m extremely turned on. But no, that can’t be, can it?
He’s as bad as they come. Some even say that he’s the devil incarnate. So why does my entire body tingle when he says my name?
No, no, no, no, no… he’s starting to get in my head.
I should be focused on getting away from this psycho, but instead I’m envisioning Wesley ravishing me.
Then, when he looks at me with hungry eyes, my heart goes wild.
What’s wrong with me?! This was supposed to be my big break as a reporter. Instead, it’s going to be my biggest mistake.

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes, adult themes, and strong language. This is a satirical, over-the-top romance—exaggeration and humor are intentional. Enjoy!

Atrocious!

DNF @ 26%. Some people said they thought this was over the top terrible on purpose, but sadly I thought it was terrible for real. In what I read not a single thing that happened or comment made was even remotely realistic, not even for a fictional fantasy. If this author has Beta readers or friends reading her writing, they are not giving her truthful advice or criticism.

This one was pretty short and fast pace with some steam.

Hands down Wesley was pretty OTT on some parts and boy he was already head over heels in lust/love with Elena he knows her from all the "articles" she written about him even if what he did wasn't true.. he was framed now hes getting the death sentence or so ppls think he makes sure Elena is his hostage he wants her to tell his real story as he gets proof and falls more deeper in love.  As for Elena at first she was sure he was guilty but once she saw his proof things change and her body sure wants him. Now they have to show the world his innocents.
And they both are struggling on can they escape or can Wesley escape and keep his hostage.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

This is a hilarious, over-the-top, light and short romance novel. I knew from the description it would be funny, but it’s in more of a sweet and ridiculous way than in a dark way (like the cover implies). Of course, Wesley is innocent of the crime he’s been convicted of, so he kidnaps a reporter to prove his innocence. That said, the book is a little too over the top, and if I hadn’t known it was supposed to be funny going in, I might have been pretty disappointed.
Recommended if you’re looking for a good laugh!

This was some crazy OTT insta-love/lust that you definitely need to suspend your disbelief in order to get through it.

Is it the most OTT story I've ever read? Not really, and normally unrealistic plots don't really phase me much, but, I have to agree that from start to finish, this story was riddled with things that were so outside the realm of possibility that it got more cheesy the more the story progressed.

From Wesley's luke warm introduction in the execution room, to his way too easy escape into the prison itself with literally no resistance to Elena going from a terrified hostage to a randy lovesick heroine in a matter of hours, gave me whiplash. It was just too much happening too fast. There wasn't enough time to really flesh out the characters and give them a personality outside the sexual attraction and when you pair insta-love/lust with OTT scenarios, their emotional connection really needs to be there for the reader to feel and root for.

Maybe if this was set in an alternate universe where the logic we know doesn't apply, this might have been a good read, but I've watched too many true crime, murder/mystery shows and have a tiny kernel of knowledge when it comes to the proper procedure for these type of scenarios.

Getting constant decision or actions that you know, deep down, would never stand a chance IRL kept pulling me from the story. In the end I read it all the way through because I'm a curious kitten at heart :)

Overall, not bad but it definitely had the potential to be so much more if the story would downgrade a bit of the OTT situations that defy logic with more realistic challenges/resolutions and gave the MCs a more solid foundation to base their love on.

You did warn us that this would be an over the top read, and boy was it! 😂 This read was also hilarious and a bit sweet! Wesley had it bad for the reporter covering his execution! If I didn't know any better, I would say he set this all up, just to meet her! He had all the ammunition needed to exonerate himself, but waited until he had "her" in his midst before doing so! Elena, going in to cover this story, had no idea what she was up against. When Wes decided to keep her captive, she was terrified and excited all at once! Why does this sexy monster want me, she wonders? They quickly forget they are in prison, while he gives her the information to help free him; as well as pleasure that she has never known! It was sweet that this supposed monster was goo goo over this woman, but I couldn't stop laughing as the storyline got even crazier! But, I have come to expect this from you, as it is what makes a Julie Thorn book! Enjoyed it! 👍👍👍

Ok, well, the title is a bit over the top but the author also says “This is an over-the-top steamy romance.” So go into this with the goal to have a fun and quick read. Basically I’m shallow and the cover sold it for me. I had fun reading this and took notes. Some might be spoilers, so be warned.

* I read loudly (to myself) whenever words are in all caps.
* There’s little ink pictures that go with each chapter. Chapter 5 is my favorite because it’s when I first noticed.
* Do prisons have free wifi?
* He knows the NYPD hostage negotiator’s email address?
* What type of prescription does a mob enforcer get filled? Asthma inhaler but keep it on the down low because it looks weak to his mafia colleagues. ((quietly hide my inhaler))
* He took her hostage and explained how he was innocent, she called him a monster and he roared at her to take it back. No take-backsies!
* He stops mid-sentence to masturbate. To hurry it up she offers to undo a few buttons on her blouse and show a little thigh. They’re both very polite about it all.
* They take a moment to shyly establish they’re both single and then he suggests she might be suffering from cognitive dissonance. ((googles cognitive dissonance))
* He asks for her panties then says he needs to log in and check his email for the proof that he’s innocent.
* “I can’t believe they almost executed you.” “I know, right?! Those (bleeping) (bleep-holes)!” I giggled so hard.
* If he wasn’t on death row and all, what would she like to do on their first date? Pet several stingrays. ((googles where I can pet a stingray))
* He asks her to sit on his lap on the prison bunk so he can “warm you up in earnest” and make her feel “extra toasty.”
* I can’t believe I’m saying this but I didn’t even see it coming that she’s a virgin.
* They dry hump and her “pussy is Super Soaker wet” and then exclamation! marks! so she knows she’s only his! or he’ll kill! someone! More! billable! hours! for his attorney!
* This is all for her tonight. He masturbates. Hold up! He questions she’s a virgin on the pill? They have sex.
* OMG. I just wondered if this cell block has cameras?
* He wants her to leave because he loves her too much to go through this. He’ll take it from here. Then he masturbates. (Just kidding. Or am I?)
* She won’t leave so he asks if she’s got superglue under her shoes. For her this is about “protecting the integrity of our justice system.”
* She threatens to expose the corrupt governor with the track changes on her edited news articles.
* Elena is in control and getting that helicopter with enough gas to get to Mexico!!! Wait. Aren’t they in New York? ((googles how far a helicopter can fly))
* They spoon and talk. ((googles diamond pushups)) They have sex. They multitask and discuss how she will! have his babies! or else! and real soon!
* They immediately take a nap to meet in their dreams. His idea.
* As they’re heading to the helicopter (thanks to Elena!) he tells her he “wrote you a secret note on your iPhone using the notepad app.” I’M USING THE NOTEPAD APP TO WRITE THIS!!! He acknowledges in the secret note they moved really fast.
* It’s now or never… she gives him her panties. Callback!!
* Fearless street pigeons are blocking the walkway to the helicopter. Hero thoughtfully sidesteps them. (Her words, not mine) I think there’s a missed opportunity to use a goose or 6. Those bleep-holes will! not! move!
* Sniper! Sidestepping the pigeons saved his life! He then outruns more bullets.
* Mexico has only one aquarium?
* Is that a gun in his pocket or is he happy to see her? Yes.
* They ascertain she is Super Soaker wet. He didn’t masturbate for a month and she kept it in park. They have sex.
* Prison theme escape room epilogue!! ((google using urine to write secret messages. never mind, don’t do that))
* They have sex. ((google wineries in Mexico))

I loved the ending. I really liked Elena. I think the author did a great job making her relatable. More in the beginning when everything’s happening so fast. Maybe not as much when they begin “connecting.” I was really impressed with Wesley’s vocabulary. They both had a really playful and good sense of humor. For knowing each other for an hour.

I’ve been struggling with reading so this was the perfect pick me up. This was a fun book. And not the unintentionally fun type. I’m 99% sure it was written to have fun - for the author and reader.

Give it a go

I actually enjoyed it 😂 was it over the top? Yup. Did it stop me from reading? Nope 😁
Insta-lust was instant 😂 the ridiculousness of their situation was weirdly endearing and I thoroughly enjoyed the short novel and will definitely check out the rest of Julie Thorn’s work.

Crazy and sexy read

Ravished by the Inmate was a crazy ride! Loved it! Over the top gun and sexy read. Wes was a sexy alpha male that ended up being much more than the reporter could have imagined. Story was super entertaining and had some sexy scenes.

am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was it the story that is going to be her star finally rising. She’s been chosen to report on the execution of Wesley Balzaretti the once upon a time enforcer for the mob. Surely nothing could go wrong, that until it does. Within a blink of an eye the man sentenced to death is the one holding her life in his hands when he takes her hostage. He has always claimed to be innocent and it looks like he is going to use her to prove it. Spending time together she realises he is in fact innocent and the chemistry between them is about to blaze out of control. Can they prove his innocence together or is going to lose the man she loves?

Wesley is getting desperate, he is about to die for a crime that he didn’t commit. Taking Elena hostage is the only way he can think of getting more time and get what really happened out in to the world, but the desire this woman invokes in him is like nothing he ever imagined. Will he convince her of his innocence or is it already too late?

Quick entertaining read totally out of the realms of realism and a perfect escape from everyday life. Really like both of the main characters, easy to read and enjoyable storyline. 4* read.

Ravished by the Inmate is a bit far fetched as a story but you know what i kinda liked that it was. Elena (FMC) ends up in the middle of a hostage situation when she goes to report on the execution of Wesley. A plot twist and some very steamy scenarios follow. It sounds like a dark read but it actually wasnt and the dynamic between Wesley & Elena was quite endearing in parts. I really enjoyed reading this book. My only criticism is that i wished it was longer

Very over the top with the mmc kidnapping the fmc in a prison and keeping her for hours with no interference from the authorities. The instalust on the fmc's part made no sense to me; how do you go from waiting to immediately fawkin a prisoner? 🫠 The math not mathin with this one.
But it's a short and easy read so 🤷🏾

For reporter Elena this was meant to be her big break, covering the execution of mob enforcer Wesley, a story she had extensively covered, little did she know she would become part of her own story.
Wesley claims he is innocent of the crime that sentenced him to death and he needs to prove it fast, taking Elena hostage is a way to get more time and a way to get his truth published. The more time they spend together the more desires builds between them, will they be able to prove Wesley innocence before it's before it's late, if he is innocent what really happened? This is a well written over the top obsessive captive prisoner romance. With insta hot loving scenes and more!

Captive Hearts

This book was really over the top like Julia said but it was also sugary sweet with how they both feel in love. Elena was shocked when Wesley called her name and took her as a hostage. He proved his innocence to her and she in return helped clear his name. I wanted them to have a baby so bad. On a serious note…It’s mad crazy how many people who are falsely convinced of crimes when corrupt law enforcement officers tamper with evidence.

This is a short, steamy and over the top read that was entertaining and fun to read. Wesley is sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit and on his execution day, he turns the tables on everyone. He takes Elena, a journalist as a captive to help him prove his innocence. I loved Elena’s character and Wesley kinda grew on me too.

Ok I really liked this story. Loved how the story got going right away and the whole plot of it. It's got suspense, a little bit of humor and some steamy bits. It's not exactly realistic but that was actually something that I liked about it. The insta love is great and the characters have an interesting circumstance to come together. I liked Wesley and Elena, but the only thing I'd have to say is that they seemed quite immature for their age. Overall, it was a fun read that I enjoyed.

Elena is sent to a maximum security prison to cover the execution of Wesley Balzaretti for her news paper. As she covered the story regarding his capture and imprisonment most passionately it seemed fitting that she should see his end. Both Elena and Wesley get more than they bargained for. A short enemies to lover story and a good read.

Elena has zero idea that her going to an execution would take on the life that it did.

Wesley is a dead man walking but has a master plan to prove a crime he's accused of, he didn't commit. But the circumstances put him in the path of one woman who will be his salvation. She just had to be his captive first.

These two put the hot in hot. The chemistry is so intense you want to buy a few bottles of it. The over the top-ness was just so good. It's a quick read but I did get to know our leads and fell hard for them. Elena is the right mix of innocent and minx. Wesley is the bad man your mother warned you about but you're going to rebel and want anyway.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
