Gray is Book 4 of Shaw Hart’s Eye Candy Ink: Second Generation series and is a friends to lovers romance read. Nora and Gray have been friends since kindergarten. Neither had a stable home life growing up, but they had each other. When tattoo artist Gray gets a job at Eye Candy Ink, Nora moves across the country with him. Friends/roommates who secretly love each other but are afraid to make a move for fear of their feelings not being reciprocated. I enjoyed watching them give into their feelings and was rooting for their happily ever ever. Gray is a quick and easy, sexy-sweet romance read and gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy!

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Gray and Nora have loved each other since they were kids. They each had abusive parents and bad childhood growing up. As soon as they turned 18 they left town and have lived together since. Each is afraid to reveal their feelings in case it ruins their friendship, both would rather have each other as friends than to lose their connection. When Gray’s father dies his brother, Jasper, freshly medically discharged from the military, calls to tell him he is arranging the funeral. Nora insists on going with him for support. They almost kiss after the funeral, but Gray pulls back at the last second. A little drunk after an Eye Candy family bbq Nora whispers I love you to Gray. He sets up a romantic dinner but working late and caring for their two new puppies don’t make take possible. Walking home they both finally give in to their feelings and kiss. That quickly leads to sexy times, dual virgins. Doubts set in when neither has a chance to talk about what happened. They finally talk and confess their love. Gray also apologizes to Jasper for resenting him leaving for the army, leaving him alone with his dad. Even though he knew it was to support him and their horrible dad. They work together demolishing the family home and rebuilding it. Epilogues one year later with them engaged and five years later with a new baby.

I love friends to lovers stories when the hero has always been in love with his leading lady, and that was the case with this book. The characters were both incredibly respectful, supportive, and thoughtful toward one another. The addition of the dogs was super cute, and I enjoyed that they were part of what drew Gray and Nora together. The slow metamorphosis of their relationship from friends to a couple was heartwarming.

However, I felt as though both characters were very indecisive. Literally from one sentence to the next the characters would change their minds about whether they wanted to share their feelings with each other. The scenes involving their return to their hometown also dragged, and I found myself more interested in the future romances of some of the side characters than the romance of this story.

Overall, I liked this book, and it was a fun way to pass an afternoon. Shaw Hart’s recent books haven’t been as passionate and exciting as her previous stories, but they’re still enjoyable.

*I received an ARC of this book. This is my complete and honest review.*

"Nora mi abbraccia più forte e io la cingo con le braccia, poi appoggio la testa sulla sua. Mentre ci stringiamo l'uno all'altra, mi rendo conto che non posso rischiare di mettere a repentaglio il nostro rapporto. Ho bisogno di Nora. Non resisterei un giorno senza di lei nella mia vita, quindi devo accettare il fatto che siamo e saremo sempre e solo amici.

Ma so che sto mentendo a me stesso.

Gray and Nora were in love with each other for years but neither of them wanted to jeopardize their friendship... so both of them suffered kind of in silence 😉 But the funeral of Gray's father changed things. Finally they got their HEA. A sweet, romantic, totally safe (DV) and drama free story with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍

WOW!! I couldn't put this one down. I absolutely love it!! This was a nice quick, short read.

Gray and Nora have know each other since third grade. They bonded over having terrible fathers. They both never wanted to make a move on the other for fear of losing their friendship. When Gray comes home one day, Nora has adopted two dog, they both love them. Gray brings tacos home and he see Nora having a hard time with the dogs so he takes over for her. Gray takes the dogs out for a walk after they have eaten. He gets a phone call from his brother, Jasper. Their father passed away, so they make arrangements for Gray to come home. When he tells Nora the news she tells him she'll go with him. They both hate going back to Rosewood. They arrive and meet up with Gray's brother then find their hotel. Gray finds out his brother was medically discharged from the army. When they get into their room they find out they only have one bed so they have to share. At the funeral it's only Gray, Jasper and Nora, then they all head over to their fathers house. Gray and Jasper decide they will sell their father's home, so they need to clean it out. They head back to the hotel and when they get in their room Gray and Nora almost kiss, but they stop before it starts. Gray and Nora head back to Pittsburg. Gray arrives at work he tells Ender that his father was an alcoholic, who smack them around when he got drunk which was every night. Zeke stops by and tells them everyone is invited to his place on Sunday's for Brunch. The guys, Gray, Ender, Banks, Harvey and Rooney all decide to go out to Club Se7en tonight. The next few day Nora notices Gray acting weird. They go to puppy classes, when someone tries to hit on Nora Gray growls at them. After they head to Zeke's for Sunday brunch. Maxine takes Nora and introduces her to everyone. Nora sits and talks with the girls, Cat, Maxine, and Sayler. Nora gets a little tipsy and Gray has to help her into his car. The next morning Nora wakes with a hangover and Gray makes her pancakes. Gray asks Nora if she'd like to go out to someplace romantic and she agrees. She looses track of time, when Gray comes home she just tells him they can grab tacos. When they get back home after walking the dogs and eating they get tangles in the leashes. Gray kisses Nora, they rush up to their apartment, he pushes her against the door and kisses her. Gray undress himself and then Nora starts to undress, she jumps into his arms and wraps her legs around him. He carries her down the hallway into his bedroom. She tries to tells him she's never but he cuts her off and tells her he know he's never either. He pleasures her then they get physical. Gray wakes the next morning with Nora on top of him so he begins to pleasure her. After she comes, she pleasures him. When he tells her he's going to come she tells him she's going to be on top. After they both come, Nora realizes she's late for a meeting and rushes to get ready. Gray goes and makes her breakfast and she rushes out the door. As soon as Gray gets to work Ender asks him if he's finally with Nora. He realizes he never took her out on a date, so he know he needs to talk to her. Gray gets a call from his brother Jasper, he wants to tear down his dads house and rebuild it. Gray tells him he'll get some time off to come help him. After Nora gets home from girls night she a little drunk she sees Gray didn't wait up for her so she goes to bed. Gray asks her if she's alright and she asks him if he had regrets about the other night. Gray tells her he doesn't want any concussion he should have done that a long time ago. He tells her he loves her, and he's wanted her his whole life, he thought she didn't want him. She tells him she's always wanted him, she's been in love with him since they were kids. Bought this for the cover. Obviously.

I expected a smutty novella, but that's not what I got.

Childhood friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, but the back and forth was tiring. Honestly.

I get it, you don't want to jeopardize your friendship, but if literally ALL your friends tell the both of you that the other is in love with you... there might be some truth to it. Y'all are living together ffs.

*spoilers* Gray and Nora have been best friends since third grade. They both had a pretty devastating childhood, leaving their families and hometown Rosewood behind as soon as possible. They always lived together, nearly like an old couple. Nora even adopts two puppies at the beginning of the story, adoreable Marley and Moose. They both are in love with each other, but too afraid to admit it, scared of losing the most important person in their life. Nora's brother encourages Gray to admit his feelings to his sister, but he is scared. Gray's father dies and Nora goes back to Rosewood, being by his side for he funeral. Gray's brother Jasper left for the military, supporting the family at a very young age. Gray felt left behind, hating his brother for the past 7 years, Jasper took the job to support his alcoholic father and his younger brother. They are slowly getting closer, Gray realizing that Jasper did it for him and did not leave him behind. Gray works at Eye Candy Ink and of course we meet the whole crew again and everybody encourages both to finally admit their feelings. Gray is getting afraid, that Nora will fall in love with somebody else. Can they finally take the risk and be best friends and lovers?
So sweet and sad that they know each other for over twenty years and waited for each other. I had tears in my eyes in the end, also feeling for Jasper and being so happy, that he got together with Evangeline and Gray and Jasper bonded over tearing down their childhood home, so symbolic. And that Gray and Nora find their family with Eye Candy Ink, you can create your own family.

Effing finally!
This book is about Gray and Nora. They have been best friends since elementary school, growing up in Rosewood, Colorado. Their home lives weren’t the best, so they left that town together when they were 18 years old. They now live together as roommates in Pittsburgh. Gray works at the Eye Candy Ink store, and Nora is a web and software developer, and she can pretty much work from anywhere, so it suits them well.
Nora’s brother Niall/Finn (?) has known for years how Gray feels about her. He also knows that his sister feels the same way! So he’s keen for Gray to actually make his move so that he can stop worrying about his sister so much. But Gray doesn’t want to risk their close friendship. The sizzling chemistry between them is obvious to everyone around them, so from the time their first almost-kiss happens, things gets even hotter! And it’s apparently better than the fantasies!
It’s an emotional, funny, sweet and steamy story about friends that eventually turn into lovers. The journey is a long one, where we meet many of their friends and family along the way. I look forward to more form them all. I give this book four and a quarter stars.

Amazing

Gray is my favorite book of the second generation of Eye Candy ink! Now I know I probably have said that in a previous review, but the books just keep getting better and better so I can’t help it. Gray and Nora stole my heart with their love that only grew as the years went on.

They survived their difficult hometown & made a beautiful life after they moved and eventually found themselves part of the Eye Candy Ink family. I love how we get people that work at the shop that end up being part of the fam & everyone welcoming them while they handle their relationship issues. Gray had me in my feelings yelling at them both to fess up about being in love with each other, while also making me nervous like I was about to reveal my inner feelings. Nora and Grey were kind of slow burn through all of the books leading up to this one but it was worth the wait to seem them explode into their full blown relationship. This was a great book, and the epilogues didn’t hurt either lol.

I have been reading this series so I was looking forward to Grayson and Nora's story. The best friend trope is one of my FAVORITE to read. This was a lot sadder than I expected honestly. I think coming off Rooney's book, which felt so lighthearted because of how goofy he was, I wasn't fully prepared for how this story went. Even Harvey's story didn't feel like this one. Was it good? Yes. Did I like all the characters? Again, yes. I just felt this one was a bit more slow moving and just SAD. We do get some uplifting moments, especially between Grayson and his brother (who will also get his own book) coming to terms but I still feel this book was mellower than I hoped for when finally getting to see these two together after hearing about them in the previous books. I'll continue to read the series because I love this family of characters and I'm really looking forward to Ender and Bank's stories.

This is book number 4 in the Eye Candy Ink: Second Generation series and focuses on Gray and Nora. They have been best friends since early childhood and were each others anchors from their awful home lives. They were both incredibly in love with each other but neither one was willing to make a move and possibly ruin their friendship if the feelings weren't reciprocated back. After a lot of meddling family and friends, the two finally get everything out in the open and find a wonderful HEA. I cannot state how much I loved this book and how both of them knew who they wanted and didn't stray from that. They stayed faithful to each other and waited on each other. This was hands down my favorite book of this series so far! Excellent addition to the series!

LOVED!!!!!

Another sweet, emotional and steamy read in Gray (Eye Candy Ink: Second Generation). Gray and Nora have been best friends their entire lives. They saved each other when they were kids growing up in Rosewood and now live together, as roommates only, as adults. Both harbor secret feelings for each other and have since they were little….will either of them get the strength to make a move? Will they get their HEA?

This is just an incredibly sweet romance. As you know, I love ALL the Eye Candy Ink men but this story really hit me with all the feels as Gray & Nora live their entire lives for each other but not really with each other. Watching them take the leap was EVERYTHING!

Another great, super STEAMY, quick read. I’ll never get tired of these Eye Candy Ink boys.

The fourth book in Shaw Hart's awesome Eye Candy Ink: Second Generation series is Gray and Nora's story, a wonderfully sweet and steamy best friends-to-lovers. Best friends since kindergarten, Gray and Nora are roommates are moving away from their hometown. Gray works at Eye Candy Ink, and everyone around him and Nora recognizes that they have both been in love with one another for years - but neither has been willing to risk their friendship to make a move. However, once they take the leap ... well, steaminess and sweetness ensues as they learn to navigate a whole different spin on their relationship. Definitely an entertaining read with two very fun and engaging characters - plus the supporting cast is wonderful!

So I am going to start this review with this story is better than I ever thought it could be! This is part of a series and while they can be read as standalones the story does go back to a couple of events in previous stories so it will be more impactful. Now Grey and Nora have been circling each other for years constantly taking care of each other and being exactly what each other needs but at the same time working around their feelings due to not wanting to lose their friendship to each other. Everyone in their lives know their feelings except for them. I love the banter back and forth and the honest love you feel on every page. A must read from this super fun series.

I thought that this was a really sweet and heartwarming book. Gray and Nora were sweet yet steam together. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. Gray and Nora have been best friends and each other's family for decades and both have been love with the other for years but neither have been able to tell the other. With the support (and pestering) the rest of the Eye Candy Ink family, Gray and Nora finally decide to take leap of faith and what do you know?! They get their really sweet HEA. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

This contemporary romance is told in dual POV by Gray and Nora, best friends and secret admirers of each other. Years have gone by without them telling each other how they really feel. Will they ever risk ruining their friendship for a chance at love? From the beginning I like the level of emotion and conflict in this story. It's sweet with heat, has likable characters, possible couples for more stories, caring friends amid dysfunctional family dynamics and a couple of cute puppies! A very entertaining friends to lovers romance! 5 stars

Super cute but with a few shadows of the past hanging over them, Gray and Nora's story was a long time coming. Knowing each other forever, best friends from the start puts them both in what they think is a precarious position. Neither want to confess they have caught feelings for each other and risk their friendship. I totally get it and yet at the same time can't imagine keeping that hidden for so long. So sweet to watch them embrace their feelings and let go of the past. 5 stars for Nora and Gray!

Gray and Nora is a beautifully, sweet story of two people devoted to each other since childhood. Both with horrible family lives it's understandable they struggle with their relationship evolving from friends, protectors and companions to something more passionate. Their is a part of me that wants to know the mystery of the struggles they went through together. On the other hand, this is a beautiful point-in-time story of them fulling growing into their love for each other and leaving any and all of the ugliness behind.

Nora and Gray

Nira and Gray have been best friends since kindergarten. They have been through lots of family dramas supporting each other. When they both turned 18 they escape their unhappy homes and the small town that threatened to suffocate them. Years later they are not only best of friends but roomates too. But so many years keeping secrets from the other things seems to be about to boil over will this secrets finally break their unbreakable bond and bring them closer at last?
Highly recommended

This is an Eye Candy Tattoo Love story for Gray and Nora. I laughed at how these two have been best friends and in love with each other since they were kids but did not tell the other and only they did not know how the other felt but all their friends and families did. I loved how these two finally get together and have the best love story ever and I can not wait to read the others from this series.

Gray and Nora have been best friends since they were kids, they have both been there for eachother through their tough childhood.
Both scared to make to move or admit that they love the other because they don't want to reck the friendship they have..
But the attraction and passion is to strong for both to fight it any longer..

Loved this book!!!!

I have enjoyed the first generation and now the second sooo much. It's like catching up with old friends from the first generation and learning so much more about the second. Gray and Nora's love story started way before the others. It was cute how they tip toed around each other. They both had so many people rooting for them. It was like an ahhh moment when they kissed. Read the book, it's really so good. Written by Cindy :)

Love this genre of best friends to lovers, this is about Gray and Nora who’ve been there for each other all their lives. Now with them settled having a good life are they ready to take that leap and jeopardize their friendship for something more or will they both let their chance pass them by. A fantastic storyline with great characters with so much history and love for one another.

I adore this second generation series for Eye Candy and I can always get down with a friends to lovers!

Gray is so dang sweet and doesn't want to mess up his life long friendship. I love that this one took a little serious turn when they had to travel for Gray's fathers funeral. I can't wait to see what is next for Eye Candy.
