Constable Nick Mystery #25

Constable Over The Bridge

Rate this book
The trouble starts at Thorburn Bridge — a ramshackle stone affair out on the Yorkshire Moors.

Like every village bobby, Constable Nick knows to avoid it like the plague. It’s not part of his beat. And no one will thank him for crossing over.

Alas, Claude Jeremiah Greengrass has never been one for boundaries.

Late one night, he goes careering over the bridge at breakneck speed — and the peace of Constable Nick’s patrol is shattered.

Can he rescue Greengrass and his hens while somehow preserving Sergeant Craddock’s record for road safety?

Or is the reputation of the Aidensfield Division about to go floating off downriver?

Fun to read, as usual

I am really interested in the culture , mannerisms, description of the countryside and the characters involved. I enjoy the way they talk, what they eat and so on. I truly like his books for a good relaxing read.

Another great book

Another great collection of memories and events from his time as a village constable in the Yorkshire countryside. Full of humour and common sense and well worth a read.

These are always such a pleasant read--so many stories about ordinary people--but Rhea makes them amusing and gentle. A lost locket, a found statue, a series of bad luck for some folks that ended up better thanks to their reslience. And lots more to read with my Kindle Unlimited purchases.
