Dani and Chase… it’s finally their time. They are at college and they are together. No more long distance and no more just friends. They are in a full blown relationship and I am so here for it!

Things aren’t perfect for these two as they’re both busy with classes, Chase is having more trouble navigating college football than he thought and Dani is trying to decide if sorority life is for her. But they have each other. If they could make it through the long distance this should be a piece of cake, right?

This is by far Jillian Dodd’s most romantic book to date! Honestly I thought no one could beat Phillip Mackenzie when it came to romance, but then his son came in and did. Chase Mackenzie. Sigh. I adored him! And of course Dani is fantastic as well.

I want to swoon all about what happened and how absolutely perfect it was, but you need to read it for yourself. It was magical and a complete dream! I’m not sure if this will be the last book in the ‘That Boy’ series but I would love to read more about Chase and Dani in the future!

Chase and Dani grew up next door to each other and Chase has known since he was very young that Dani was going to the girl he married someday. It took a while for Dani to catch up and when she realizes how much she loves Chase she knows it will be forever.

Chase is on a scholarship at College playing football but it’s a whole new experience for him compared to high school. He has gone from being the starting quarterback to one of four options for his coach. He is determined to earn his place on the team card and bring the leadership skills he had with his old team into this new one.

Dani is thrilled to have Chase at College with her now, finding time alone with him is the only tricky thing they have to work through. They are beginning to see the downside of dorm living is not going to give them the privacy they need. Things have changed in their relationship since high school and as they grow into a more adult connection it further grows their desire to be with each other as much as they can.

Chase has a plan, a plan that will give both of them what they want. However, he is going to need some help and some sneaky covert operations to pull it all off. Along the way he seeks out advice from the man he admires the most, his dad (Phillip baby). This will be the most important play of his life and he wants to score a touchdown.

I absolutely loved this wonderfully romantic conclusion to this gorgeous couple’s love story. They have changed so much since That Summer as they cross from adolescence to adulthood. They are learning to communicate better with each, trusting in the bond they have been growing for years.

When you find your ‘one’, it doesn’t matter how young or old you are. You just know that they are it for you and your future is with them. I could relate to this, having been with my husband since we were 15 years old. I loved all of the moments with the Diamond and Mackenzie families and look forward to reading more from them :)

such a let down

Waited so long for this book but it was such a let down. There was too much reminiscing about old scenes from previous books. Too much repetition about the past. Anyone who is a fan of this series knows what happened in the past and didn’t need a replay. There was NO real drama or plot other than getting engaged and married. I was bored and half way through ended up skimming through chapters. Disappointed.

The day has finally arrived – and Chase and Devaney’s romance is one worth all the swoons, oohs and aahs and hoots and hollers!

Amid the whirlwind of college activities and Chase's grueling football schedule, there are some hurdles to jump through, but our quarterback and his lady love are up for the challenge.

It was fun to catch-up with all the family and friends. The wedding was over-the-top with some clever and emotional touches that brought back scenes from earlier books.

I can’t help but admit that I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more of the happily-ever-after. Is it picky that I would have preferred to have had more of the relationship building between the happy couple and less of all the wedding planning details?

As a fan of this series, I can only hope that there will be more to come in the future.

A wonderful ending to Dani and Chase's love story. These two have had a long friendship and a hard road to lovers. But they've been married as children a dozen times and know in their hearts they will be each other's forever. Very sweet and swoony relationship and even though there are some rocky times adjusting to college, these two are determined to keep things moving forward as a team. The surprises that Chase gives Dani are so thoughtful and well prepared. The fairytale every girl dreams about. These two kept me smiling and I really have fallen in love with these two families. A gorgeous series with realistic bumps and supportive families. I adore how devoted this couple is!

I want to start this off by saying that I have loved @jilliandodd for years and years. I started with The Keatyn Chronicles but That Boy holds my heart. 😍
I have loved seeing this story grow from when Jadyn, Phillip, and Danny were kids to watching their kids grow up too.
I was very sad to see Chase and Devaney’s story end but in true Jillian fashion, she ended it perfectly.
If I could give this book 10 stars, I would!
Thank you for writing such a beautiful book and giving C&D such a wonderful ending!

As always, I positively adored buddy reading this with you, @bad.ash.books @bookish.bartender!

Love it

I loved this series so much. I'm sad to see it end. All through the last two books I was hoping for a love story of Damien and Hayley.

Finally got to read this and I loved it.

There was so much drama in their relationship in the first 2 books that I swear that I sat on the edge of my seat waiting for something to go wrong.

But it was perfect and sweet and I got some more Damon and my fave Danny (even if he did become British thanks to someone fan casting him as Henry Cavill)

I also really loved the female relationships with all the adults. It felt very nice reading that growth.

Just me still patiently waiting for my Damon books 😅😎

The perfect conclusion to Chase and Dani's story

I've been waiting for this book since That Summer, even if I didn't know it at the time. This was the absolute perfect conclusion to Chase and Dani's tumultuous story. It's impossible to say much without spoiling things, so I'll just say, I loved all the little pieces of this story, and time spent with the Diamonds and Mackenzies is always time well spent. Can't wait for the next Diamond/Mackenzie love story!

What a touching conclusions to Dani and Chase’s love story. Tears were had so make sure to have your tissues. Both will find that communication is the key to love and that they can get through anything together. I cant wait to see how Damon’s story unfolds in the next That Boy series books.

Chase and Dani are a super cute couple. He's the boy next door that has captured her heart. At times I felt what they did and how they reacted to things was over the top but that's normal for their generation. I'm glad they got their happily ever after even if I think they were too young.

That Forever

I loved this conclusion to chase and Dani's story. It was hard won. Their story of love, struggle, acceptance, and growth was worth it. I always like that this is a family, Mackenzie and Diamond. It all started with That Boy with the parents and now the children. I will always return to these books.

What's next?

Left us hanging. I hope because we don't know about how the season went for Chase; if Devaney earned her dreamed job; do Damon and case win a National Championships; does Haley come and play volleyball? Do the four continue and become successful with one- eleven? I hope there is more to come with a book four and five😁

Chase and Dani are finally together, and after all this time, all of these stories, from That Baby, to That Love and That Ring, when we started That Summer, I thought Chase and Dani’s would be amazing. And it was! It wasn’t perfect or predictable. It was a cookie cutter romance in high school, they had a lot of ups and downs. But it was a little disappointing that we really only experienced their story in these really brief flashes. That summer takes places over a couple weeks of summer break. That promise is Dani leaving for college to their winter break. That Forever picks right back up from that point and ends the following summer.
Don’t get the wrong, the story is adorable. I dislike the chapters, and how they’re similar to London Prep with the dates. I wish it would’ve jumped into the future more, instead of being a day by day play by play. The whole reason for that forever was adorable. And in the end, the couple that most of us called at the epilogue of That Baby and in That Love and That Ring is together, which is what we wanted, but why does their story seem incomplete? I wish we would’ve had an epilogue for them. Or a few more chapters but in the future. Something to show us they’ve settled, Chase was drafted and Dani has her dream job. They’re living their best lives. Or maybe they aren’t. College doesn’t need to be included, because that can be Damon’s story, but not telling us where Chase and Dani are in the future just left their story feeling very incomplete when this was supposed to be the final book of their story.
Definitely happy they’re together, and I do love That Forever and how they got to where they currently are, I just wish we had a little bit more to see them a little more into their forever, because we’ve been reading about this family and we watched (ok read about) them growing up, we saw them fall in love, fall into a mess, fumble the ball (see what I did there lol), try to figure things out, and finally figure things out, the end?

Ok, I’m not mad about that Forever, but I’m sad that there wasn’t an epilogue. Dani and Chase’s story still feels incomplete. I love them though, and I can’t wait to see where they end up in Damon’s story!

Breathtaking, Romantic, and Perfect!

That Forever is pure perfection! Every chapter, every word, every moment tugged at my soul and captured my heart. It is sweet, enchanting, and engaging and truly the most beautiful continuation of Chase and Devaney's story. Every moment had me holding my breath in a combination of anticipation and giddiness. Jillian wrote a book full of true love, devotion, and the reality of life. This story pairs the trials and struggles of new adulthood and college life with the beauty of young love. It was beautifully perfect in every way.

Chase Mackenzie is truly the sweetest boy ever and the ultimate dream guy. His devotion to Devaney and his desire to succeed in his life is inspiring. This book shows a lot of growth for Chase as he handles the struggles of being a college athlete and wanting to be the boyfriend he has always dreamed to be.

Devaney's growth and maturity throughout the series shines in this book. Her patience and devotion to her heart and her love for Chase is just so sweet. Her journey in finding herself is a thing of pure beauty.

THAT FOREVER is everything I never knew I wanted. It is now at the top of my favorite list. Jillian Dodd scored a touchdown with this book.

A Happily Ever After wrapped in Pure Perfection!

I would give it a dozen stars if I could.

The Mackenzies, Diamonds and Archibalds are the best families ever. Did I ever think I was going to love a love story quite like Phillip Mackenzie and Jayden’s, the short answer is not as much if I did. But honestly Chase really quite exceeded my expectations with the romance and it brought me back to my binge reading days where I couldn’t sleep and had to know what happened finishing the book within a day easily. I also realized when reading this book that a lot of how Chase and Devaney’s relationship is reminded me of my own with my boyfriend in certain instances which I think it is so cool with how Jillian has managed to not only continue on involving us with these characters lives.. but also showing us sneaks on other characters lives and intertwining the worlds nicely. Where as a lot of authors once the happy ending hits that’s it. You mourn the characters and stories but Jillian just has a way to continue to have those characters live on and I love it. Jillian you hit it out of the park! A perfect forever ending to the series💖🥹

I really enjoyed this book. There was hardly any drama. Mostly filled with love, laughter and a beautiful happily ever after! Chase had some struggles in this book, and for me it made him that much more likable. Because no one is perfect. You can’t be kind and humble all the time. It’s okay to have faults and insecurities. Devaney has really grown into herself and I am all here for it! From caring what everyone thinks and forming your decisions based on that to not giving a damn and doing what you want and what makes you happy. The wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! If I ever get married I would like a copy and paste! The family, the fun, the shared choices along with surprises; it was all so wonderful. However I feel like there were a lot of gaps in the story that left me feeling like I was missing a character. I wish there was a bit more.

Wow.. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried.. HAPPY Tears. I couldn’t have wished for a better ending to Chase and Dani’s love story. Although I hope it’s not really the end. I would love to see what the future holds for them! I absolutely loved getting glimpses back to Phillip and Jadyn’s love story. It made my heart swell with happiness. & I freaking adore Damon and hope he gets his own love story some day. Not only are the main characters amazing the supporting characters are as well! That Boy series is what got me back into reading over 6 years ago. It will always hold a special place in my heart. & will forever be my favorite books that I will continue to read over and over time and time again. 10/10 Recommend! 💕

Thank goodness this one was better than the last book, I had to convince myself to pick this one up after really not enjoying the last book. That said, there were still a lot of gaps that left me scratching my head. Like the sudden jump from getting sick to being engaged? I was so confused I actually flipped back to see if I’d missed a chapter. And Chase’s football stuff? That was a huge part of the story… until it wasn’t. It just vanished like it never mattered. It honestly felt like a whole chunk of the middle was missing. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, kind of what I expected, but definitely could’ve been more fleshed out.

Get ready to swoon so hard! Absolutely incredible! This story was everything I wanted and so much more. I have been a huge fan of these characters since book one in this series. Now to get the next generation stories is a book lovers dream come!

Chase and Dani’s story has pulled at my heartstrings every book. They have had ups and downs, but when they are up, they melt my heart. Chase is literally so swoony! He makes me have butterflies! He gives all book boyfriends a run for their money. He is so raw and vulnerable in this book and I loved that about him. The one bright star in his life is Dani. Dani’s love for Chase in this book is incredible. She is there to pick him up and make him smile. I love these two in this series. Their growth as friends and a couple is absolutely beautiful.

I love all the extra characters. You can’t have this series without all of them. They bring fun and happiness to the story. To see what they are up to and how their lives are all going is a joy. I hope we get more books of other kids storylines. I love these families and how they love each other so much and so unconditionally.

Jillian Dodd’s mind is a beautiful brilliant thing. She pulls so hard at your heartstrings. I was smiling ear to ear one moment, sobbing happy tears the next. This book is so joyful and happy. It will have you smiling so hard and loving these characters even more. The minute I finished the book, I wanted to pick it back up and read it all over again. Absolutely fantastic!!!

I feel like sitting under a warm blanket next to a fire and savoring this just a little longer. I found this author when I read That Boy and devoured both books (at the time) in the series within 24 hours. It's been such fun to follow these characters into adulthood/parenthood, etc. but to follow their children has been a gift. It's those moments we thought were perfect in the original series were made new and softer, sweeter through their children. What a gift Jillian Dodd has for masterfully weaving together plots, creating nostalgia, and tugging your heartstrings. It was an ending that felt like a homecoming.

-Part of the That Boy series. Book 3 for Chase and Devaney. (That Summer (1) That Promise (2))
-Chase has decided to go to college a semester early. He is going to be playing football in the fall and wants to get a head start practicing with the team. This is Dani’s second semester of college, and she is in a sorority. Chase and Devaney have such busy schedules that they don’t see much of each other. With the added stress of school and their extracurricular activities they are both stressed. Chase’s mom help build a condo right off campus and is where Dani, Chase, Haley, and Damon will be staying once they all get to college. Chase and Dani decide to move in while still letting it appear that they live on campus. Dani doesn’t think the sorority life is for her and Chase is second guessing his decision to play football at all. The other team members all calling him Hype, and he doesn’t think he is living up to the potential he had in high school. Chase and Dani talk about getting married because they have been best friends forever and they just started dating and can’t imagine spending their life with anyone else. After the semester is over, they go on vacation to the Ozarks where they went and first got together (That Summer). Chase proposes to Dani on their first night and she says yes. She is given the option to have an engagement party, a wedding, or for it to just be a grand opening party. Dani decides on a wedding. So, just two days later Dani and Chase get married at the place they fell in love as a couple. I did not expect this in any sorts, but I loved reading all of it. I’m carouse to see where their life ends up in a few years. I like how they learned how to communicate with one another from the previous books. Chase and Dani grew up a lot from their first book.
