Mermaid Kisses is an anthology of forbidden love, secret worlds, dangerous liaisons, and the complicated simplicity of romance.
SIREN CALL by Jacqueline Hayley She's everything he hunts. And everything he desires. How can she trust him, when the lure of her siren call will devastate them both?
A CURSE OF MOON & SEA by H.M. Hodgson Once upon a time, a Merprince was cursed. Can he blackmail his way out of this fairytale nightmare?
ADRIFT by Melanie Pickering The sea hath no fury like a mermaid scorned. What happens when a former merman falls for the human he was supposed to drown?
THE CROSSING by Jennifer Westgarth She was born to protect the ocean. His heart lies with the land. When all you love is on the line, which world do you choose to defend?
Melanie Pickering writes urban gothic thrillers with mystery, romance, and a supernatural twist. Library Assistant by day, writer by night, she lives in Australia in a ninety-year-old home that is quite possibly haunted. She loves dark chocolate and hasn't met a macabre fact she doesn't like.
Her new dark cozy series, Deadly Possessions, follows psychic art historian Emily Sloane and her dangerously charming boss as they uncover the cursed secrets behind a trail of deadly antiques.
If I didn't believe in Mermaids before (I did), I definitely do now. The four stories in this anthology are extraordinary. The characters and their adventures kept me turning the pages and yearning for summer so I could find the closest rock pool and search for these gorgeous creatures. Each story gives an unique insight into this genre and manages to provide a more than satisfactory happily ever after. I especially liked the opportunity to find out what really happened to one of the characters in a special link to the author's website! Can't wat to read more from all of these talented authors.
I received an #ARC copy of Mermaid Kisses in exchange for an honest review.
It’s an anthology of Australian Mermaid stories containing;
Siren Call by @jacquelinehayleyromance A Curse of Moon and Sea by @hmhodgson Adrift by @melaniepickeringwrites The Crossing by @jenniferwestgarthauthor
There was a great variety of stories in this collection, with fun relatable characters and epic romances (as well as MERMAIDS) come on… I shouldn’t have to say more! 🧜🏻♀️
There’s a little spice too which is always fun 🌶 😉
I love a good anthology, and when it's all about Mermaids, it's even better.
For Mermaid Kisses we get four different stories. Siren Call is a YA tale about star-crossed lovers. One is a mermaid and one is a pirate, and both want to prove to their families that young love works.
A Curse Of Moon and Sea is part The Little Mermaid, part Beauty and The Beast when a mermaid prince needs to break a curse and uses the sea witch's daughter to do it.
Adrift, which was my favorite, explores mermaids as creatures with a darker side who can drown humans and claim their bodies so they can live on land. When this happens for Wyatt, he needs to choose between being happy as a human with a potential new love or honoring a promise to a mermaid friend.
The Crossing mixes warnings about destroying the ocean with a love story between a mermaid trying to save her people and a farmhand living a life for others.
All of the stories are set in modern times and the mermaids live on land and in the sea, which I really enjoyed. Each story also has just the right amount of romance, secrets, and relatable characters. Definitely recommended for fans of romance with a twist.
Mermaid Kisses by multiple great authors to include @hmhodgson @melaniepickeringwrites @jenniferwestgarthauthor 4⭐️ This anthology was 4 perfect little snippets of mermaid heaven. I have always loved mermaid lore and having these four stories was so much fun. Each story is a different set of characters and varying spice levels. If you are in the mood for something different and are craving the ocean give this one a try!
This review was given honestly in return for an ARC
The closest I've come to knowing much about mermaids was thanks to Daryl Hannah when I was still in high school. 🧜♀️I loved that movie. This short story anthology was something else. This has mermen, for starters. 😍 Four very different short stories, all great reads. I might have to see what other mermaid stories are out there... after I rewatch Splash. Just for old times sake.
Absolutely loved this book! I couldn't put it down. I wanted to get back into my mermaid genre books and this got me there. It scratched all the right brain spots I was craving from a mermaid book. Well worth the read.
This anthology made me want to toss my Kindle aside and go diving into the ocean.
Each story is different, but equally beautiful.
The angst and tenderness of Lyssa and Wyatt's first love to the drama and intensity of Serena and Ari - every story offers something special, with a mix of sweetness and spice.
I didn't realise I loved mermaid stories so much until I had Mermaid Kisses in my hands and now I want more!
I enjoyed this anthology, but I wanted more from each story. I know that the premise of the collection was to have four short stories about mermaids and love bound together, however, in some aspects I feel that let the authors down as there was not much time to develop the characters. Or the relationships really. Everything felt very insta-love. I am a big character reader, so not being able to fully immerse myself in the characters head because the pacing was so fast, made it a little difficult for me to enjoy the stories. Overall, it was a fun time, but I really just wanted more for each story.
