So, I took control. I weaved my hand into her hair, opened my eyes, and forced my cock down her throat as far as it would go.
I didn’t want her around me. She’d served her purpose, so as soon as we pulled up outside the art museum, where the function was being held, I told her, “You can go now.”
I didn’t want to be weighed down by a woman at home, waiting to see if I survived the violence I faced every day. I didn’t need her to be in the back of my mind as I was dishing out punishments to men who tried to break our rules.
grabbed the back of her neck, needing something to hold on to for traction as I pounded into her, unrelenting in my rhythm. She squealed but soon followed it up with a groan.
Always have protection: a condom and a gun. It was two things I lived by, and neither had ever failed me.
Veev was one of my favorites, had been since I was twenty-two, and I was sure she thought she could get away with things the other women couldn’t.
I’d have to be more discreet—or maybe I wouldn’t.
Veev’s footsteps came closer to the bathroom. “We could take a shower together,” she said, her voice deceptively soft.
It didn’t stop me spewing the vows, promising her things I had no right to promise. Because I would break every single one of them. I knew that.
I was married. Married when I had no intention of seeing her as my wife.
She wasn’t here to be my partner. She was here to be my wife in name only.
For weeks I’d waited to make it my own, haunted by the memories inside the four walls. But now, I was able to do whatever I wanted to it, and I had the perfect person in mind who could help. Grinning, I pulled my cell out and shot off an email to Veev. She’d not only get the job done, but she’d be able to distract me from everything else. The perfect combination.
I was sick and tired of hearing her voice, but there was nothing I could do about it. Not only that, but I had more important things to worry about than Aida.
I pulled up my zipper as Veev pushed her feet into her ridiculously high heels, half watching her and half watching the time on my Rolex attached to my wrist. I was cutting it close to Aida being home, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
“Okay.” She grinned, knowing that she’d be back next week. There was no doubt that she was becoming another fixture in my life, only she was easier to get rid of than my wife.
“If I wanna fuck Veev, then I’ll fuck her.” I ground my teeth together, trying to keep my emotions at bay. “Aida doesn’t get a goddamn say.”
“Call Veev,” I told Mateo as he pulled up outside of the restaurant. “Tell her to be at the house by four.”
I halted. Wondering if I should wait. Then a moan rang out. What the…
A head full of long dark hair turned, a face appearing, and I gasped. Laid out on his desk was a naked woman, the one who had been here to give his office a makeover. She lifted her red-painted lips up into a smirk and winked at me, and all the while Lorenzo pounded into her over and over again.
Not in the traditional sense, but we’d made vows, and he was breaking those vows for everyone to hear. It wasn’t a real relationship—that was being made crystal clear. But this? This was disrespectful on every level.
I didn’t deserve this. I didn’t deserve any of it.
He’d drawn the battle lines. But he had no idea who he was messing with.
I nodded. She did know it was tonight because I’d sent Mrs. Larson up to remind her after Veev had left.
I gripped my cell in the palm of my hand as I rushed out of the house and into the back of the SUV, then shot off a message to Veev, telling her to be at the house when I got home. If Aida wanted to play these games, I’d make sure she wouldn’t win.
Every night for the last three days, I’d heard Lorenzo stumble into his room opposite mine. Normally it wouldn’t bother me, but since I’d witnessed what I did in his office, everything had changed—yet again. The female laughter and moans that rang out opposite my room had my stomach rolling, and my anger built higher and higher the longer it went on.
I’d brought Veev up here, but it was only ever on the sofa—her bent over it as I took what I wanted from her without a second thought.
“You didn’t wear a condom?” “No.” I shook my head. “I made a mistake.” I always wore protection.
“I made a mistake.” His words spun around and around in my mind.
He’d made a mistake. No. I had made a mistake. I’d made a mistake thinking he was anything but an asshole.
