Military Science Fiction, swords and sorcery, dungeons and dragons, fights against impossible odds? Would you like battles in New York City between soldiers and orcs, magic using elves riding dragons versus NYPD, sword, sorcery and automatic weapons? They are all there when man’s world is invaded by an ancient foe. This book has it all. The best advice I can give you is this book is really cool and you have gotta read it. (And it looks like more to come!) Well done John and Lucas!
This book continues the story of the defeat of the United State by the Elves. I SURE hope there is 3rd book soon. I can't wait to see how our heroes fight back. This is an unusual storyline but it is facinateing. Each story has focused on a different main character but each character is a true patriot. Each in their pursuit of freeform for America do the impossible. Very well written and interesting. Lots of action and adventure. Well developed characters, believable and easy to like. You feel like you know them and want to be their friend. You grieve for each death and loss the US sufferers. I thank the authors for their understanding of how Americans would react to such an event as this. Highly recommended.
I was hesitant to start this series, the premise was so preposterous and unlike my usual read that I was sure this would be a waste of time. But surprise, it was entertaining, exciting, fast paced and if you accept the premise, very logical. It's also well-written with good character development. I'll be following up for further volumes.
Many series concentrate on a single character or characters to the point they get bogged down, repetitious, and boring after three or four books. One of the things I like about this series is that it is exactly opposite that boring pattern by changing things up with completely different characters and locations while staying true to the timeline. Plus, it's well written with minimal typos, and full of action without being overloaded with excessive military jargon that does little more than add fluff to the book.
A solid five stars... and now I'm off to read the newest addition to the series.
Good story and interesting ending. Elves, dragons, flying aircraft (dragon) carriers. Battles, fights, good and bad, human foibles, and many, many characters written in and then dead.
The authors have given us characters to love and enemies to hate in this action packed story. Well laid plans fall before the Elf Army with their Orcs and dragons. But it seems the orcs are willing to pledge to Americans if you meet their idea of warrior values.
Still a good yarn. Where the first book had a lot of repatition and the characters were more 2-D, this story actually spent more time fleshing out the characters and not making them really bad stereotypes.
Yeah, baby. The Resistance continues. I'm loving this series. Different characters and different circumstances than Fae Wars: Onslaught, but the authors capture the grim reality of combat, even against Fae creatures. This time, the good guys find orc allies and mayhem ensues.
There are sooo many authors whose work never sees the shelves of libraries, or enters the traditional channels of distribution…. This one looks like a winner. I look forward to continue reading the series and see how the story line and characters intertwine.
I admit to feel for lot of these characters and were sad after so much death. The elves caught everyone flat footed. The orcs are awesome!!looking forward to seeing more of them.
This is an amazing blend of military thriller crossed with high fantasy! This is the second book in the series. I loved how both are recounting different viewpoints of the same conflict.
The Fae Wars was a great read and I enjoyed reading the first two stories. I look forward to the next book. Live free or die. Great moto to live up to.
So far a great series. Good character development and plot lines following different characters whom I assume will come together at some point in a future book.
I want more, please. The Fae want the earth back and are coming to get it. Book One has different characters, but both are excellent. Definitely bloody, with a high death rate, but the people of the United States aren't going down easily. Magic returns to those who can use, but good old human values, technology and stubbornness are going to save the day. Well, r hope so, don't see another in the series, but am hoping for more.
