In Book 2 of the Eva Rae Mystery series: What You Did by Willow Rose, three high school girls were abducted right after leaving their prom. They had decided to walk home, and were chased, caught, and confined by a seriously sick and warped man. When another girl, the daughter of one of Eva's best friends, is found in her backyard chained to a swing set and barely alive, Eva Rae knows that she can’t sit idly on the sidelines.

Knowing full well, Eva Rae’s skill set as an FBI profiler, the chief of police invites her to continue to help out the Cocoa Beach Police force with unique cases involving what appears to be mentally unwell individuals. Although Eva Rae has her hands full trying to find her long lost sister, she gets involved with Matt Miller who is the lead investigator, to race the clock to find the abducted girls. Things get even more complicated when the killer begins to contact Eva Rae with knowing messages, then she realizes that she was the target all along.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. At the same time, I thought I found a new author for me since the first book was my first by Willow Rose. As a result, I was eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. And, then, I read the next book. While the story/murder/mystery and the characters were well written, I found that it is a CLIFFHANGER! I HATE CLIFFHANGERS WITH A PASSION! There have been authors that I have read for years and were automatic buys for me. And, then they started writing CLIFFHANGERS! Did I mention that I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! While this book was available on KU (of which I am a subscriber), it is my firm belief that CLIFFHANGERS are nothing more than ploys to get the reader to get the next book. When you write a good book, such as this one and the previous one in this series, it is not necessary, IMHO.

One star has been taken off my review because it is a CLIFFHANGER!

A quick read was this book with short snappy chapters. Eva Rae Thomas, the former FBI profiler, now helped her boyfriend Detective Matt with cases when she was hit by a deja vu. A killer was copying all the cases she had worked while in FBI till it reached closer to her home.

My first book by Willow Rose, the story started with 3 prom girls disappearing and soon led to a great merry-go-round by the killer with no distinct MO. I liked how the main character was played using cases from her book. Had it not been a few unforseen circumstances, the killer would have gotten away. Eva Rae seemed well suited for this role; her past and present were amalgamated well. In spite of being second in the series, I could read it just fine. I liked how hints of previous book just made me long to get to it.

Then came my niggles, a bit more of active investigation would uplift the story. The reactions of the characters felt slightly off. The book ended in cliffhanger.

A suspenseful mystery, a vengeful intelligent killer, and my need to get to the truth made this a 2 hour breakfast read.

I read book #1 of this series and thought I'd give #2 a chance. Both are solid 2 star reads and nowhere as good as WR's books set in Denmark. Eva Rae is an unbelievable protagonist and hugely annoying as well, and likely the worst depiction of a former FBI agent I've seen yet. The writing is sloppy and amateurish, especially compared to the Emma Frost series. I understand WR lives in FL now, but none of it rings true. I won't be continuing with this series. I have noticed a lot of the 5 star reviews here are also full of typos and grammatical errors, so maybe the poor quality writing is only an issue for those of us who tend to be elitist jerks... But, nothing excuses a poorly developed main character who is utterly unbelievable in a standard real-life-meets-fiction murder mystery. That's just laziness and churning out too many books in too short of a time with too little editorial input.

What You Did # 2
Once again we are caught up with the happiness and the low of teen age girls. An innocence walk home for these three a few blocks after the prom and now gone. Two weeks and still missing, what happened before the prom.
A sister when she was seven, taken by her father, and them leaving the country, A man Sydney thought was her father wasn’t, and now a known killer.
Writing about had given her a contract, and helping her mother and her to cope. She was now a retired FBI profiler, the pieces fit not 1but all of them, they seem to fit cases she had worked on. The extent that a person goes to for revenge, and it’s not over yet. It is a gripping plot once again by the author.

I love the simple, colorful cover for What You Did by Willow Rose. I am a sucker for a cover that draws me in. Also, the setting, Cocoa Beach in Florida. Been there, done that, and I love a familiar place.

I haven’t read the first book in the series, and I do love her books, so I know I am missing out. Willow Rose does fill me in, slowly, on what I missed.

Eva Rae is an FBI profiler, my kind of character. She’s been on the hunt for her long lost sister, but right now the three women reported missing will have to take priority. Her, and her cop boyfriend, Matt Miller both have some heavy baggage they carry around. He is a single dad and she is a single mom.

Four girls went to the prom…only one came home…and where Willow Rose goes from there is the reason why I grab every book I see of hers.

A couple of pages into Chapter 23, I saw what was coming and it will be devastating. Willow Rose tends to have lots of action in her books and a lot of it is very, very bad.

Her sister…things don’t go the way Eva thought. I don’t think there is any good way to predict what happens when a family member has been kidnapped. I was surprised, but that is a Willow Rose trademark. She definitely keeps me on my toes.

Eva Miller finds herself in a situation where all her training and experience in forensic psychology will be of no use.

The baby…so, so sad…this part is based on a true story, and, if you are anything like me, you will want to google it… but that’s all I can tell you so I don’t spoil it.

I love that Willow has her character writing crime novels too. Her serial killer book lays out the four typologies: lust, anger, power, and financial gain. Which one is she dealing with in this case? I’m not telling.

The action…from beginning to end…is filled with mystery, horror and fear that never ends.

The biggest downside to the novel…the cliffhanger!

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of What You Did by Willow Rose.

Badly written, containing graphic, over the top, violence. But to top it off, ends with a cliffhanger. Had I known that I would not have started it. I will not be purchasing the next book or any other Willow Rose books. Cliffhangers are just a cheap attempt by authors to sell more books

This is book is #2 in the Eva Rae Thomas series and continues the protagonist's story in much the same way as the first in series, but reveals more about Eve Rae's career as an FBI profiler. Here again, we have young girls abducted, held captive, gruesomely tortured and killed; but this time with a motive more connected to Eva Rae's past. I still have no sympathy or particular liking for Eva Rae and find her actions rash and unthinking and which place her own children in danger. The villain in the story is connected to Eva Rae's past FBI work and uses procedural books that Eva Rae has written to frame his crimes. The book also ends in a cliffhanger so that the reader is enticed to read the next book in the series. This was not a particularly satisfying way to end the book and I thought scenes were written for their gratuitous effect.

Poor writing, too sensational. Very unbelievable, especially combined with the first book. I agree with other reviews stating that it’s a cheap ploy to have a cliffhanger.

Ensimmäisessä persoonassa kirjoitettu teksti muuttuu hyvin helposti nalkuttavaksi ja ylimieliseksi, kun päähenkilö ajattelee muista henkilöistä, joiden kanssa on tekemisissä. No pääosinhan sellainen narsisti päähenkilö tuntuu olevan.

No loppujen lopuksi sisko asuu naapurustossa, jonne on vasta muuttanut tarkoituksella, vaikka inhoaakin Floridan ilmastoa.

Eli jatkoa on odotettavissa.

Fast paced page turner! This one grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go until the very last page. There are a couple of plot lines which run parallel until the end of the book and are woven together nicely. A heads up, the “semi-conclusion” leaves some things unresolved and the resolution requires you read the next book in the series. (I plan on it)

The characters in this book are well developed with personalities, idiosyncracies and imperfections that are so real, they will feel very familiar to you. She even throws in sibling arguing and sniping like all families with siblings tend to do. Eva Rae Thomas has returned to her hometown after leaving her FBI job as a profiler. She is trying to start over with her 3 kids and moves in with her mother, a very old fashioned, opinionated woman. She reconnects with her childhood boyfriend, Matt who is also a detective on the town police force. She also hired a PI to look for her long lost sister who was kidnapped as a child by her father. So many things swirling around in her head. Then on Prom Night three friends are walking home together when they disappear without a trace. Matt and the police chief asked Eva Rae if she would help them with the case, much to the chagrin of her children. With so many twists and turns and psychological scares you just can't put this book down. You will want to read it in one sitting because you are kept on the edge of your seat. And now...we have an unbelievable cliff hanger! I can't wait to see what the author has in store in the next book. I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Willow Rose continues to impress me with each and every book I read.
Spine-tingling drama not for the faint of heart. When 3 teens go missing after Senior Prom, The their parents are in shock! Did they run away, go on a senior trip without telling their parents, or something more sinister?
As Eva Rae and Matt try to weave through all of the clues, one parent receives a disturbing package from Fed Ex, a calling card, one that will bring everyone to their knees.
Then the unthinkable happens to a 4th member of the group of friends, the only one who decided to leave the prom early and go home.
Eva and Matt now know this isn’t only a sickening maniac, but one who has become personal.
A serial killer who doesn’t fit one profile, but fits them all!!!
Grab this book or any from this masterful suspense author. Absolutely addictive.

This story was ridiculous; the author included every type of crime she could imagine, except maybe animal abuse. Sorry, the author tried too hard to be provocative and failed.

Would not recommend. The author apparently was trying to be exciting so she included every type of crime she could imagine, except possibly animal abuse. The story zigzagged from murder, kidnapping, torture, rape, suicide, long lost siblings, divorce, vegetarian mothers-too much!

What You Did is the second in the series by Willow Rose. This is very much a continuation of the previous book. Eva Rae's family is suffering on so many levels. Eva Rae's sister was "kidnapped" when she was very young and the family is never the same afterwards. Next up her own children are suffering from the abrupt departure of her husband and father to her children for another woman. While trying to get her footing she stumbles in to the disappearance of three girls. Trying to help solve the crime it also seems to involve her personally. Eva Rae will discover that this will hit closer to home and threaten to destroy everything she has worked towards.

The only negative for me is the dreaded cliffhanger. I hate books that end in the middle of a story. To me it is the middle because the story did not end. I plan on reading the next in the series, but I seriously hope that it will not end in another cliffhanger.

A whodunit thriller that has a snappy pace. The author's writing mechanics are good give or take a split infinitive or two. The storyline involved three female seniors who go a missing on prom night. One loses her sight, one her life, and the last her innocence. Another storyline involves a kidnapped newborn in another time and place. The perpetrator is identified, but the mystery rolls on into book three of the series. Eva's daughter has been kidnapped, and one has to read the next book to find out where she has been taken. I hate it when authors use that trick!
I obtained these first two books and the fourth book on the cheap at Bookbub. As of today, they are probably still available for a low price.

Thank you, Ms. Willow Rose, for a good read.

This 2nd series of the book was hard to put down. Characters were realistic as Eva Rae found herself back at work investigating 3 missing teenage girls. Nicely paced storyline as Eva also found her long lost kidnapped sister. Good connection of the characters as 1 mystery was solved. Looking forward to read the next book as Eva Rae's search begins....

An entertaining and compulsive book. The idea that a profiler can have their skill turn the tables on them is interesting.

The kids, with the exception of Alex are realistically written. He’s a bit overdone, but I am sure there are children like him all over the place.

Good story. Interesting characters, well written dialogue.

Lost a star for the ending. Loved it until then..liked it afterwards.

Eva Rae Thomas is back in this second installment of the series with missing girls, a dash of romance, and a body count that keeps climbing higher. Not for the faint of heart, this book lays bare the horror of kidnapping and the aftermath which ensues. I honestly can’t stop reading these stories.

This is the second book in the Eva Rae Thomas mystery series by Willow Rose.

This story moves forward in time focusing on three teens who go missing from Prom. At the same time, Eva Rae is looking into the disappearance of her sister years earlier. She is immediately thrust into the investigation when the body of one of the young girls is found in her back yard.

Definitely a real thrill ride. I loved how the two storylines mixed and mingled. This one has a mind blowing twist at the end that will have your jaw dropping in shock! Don’t miss this one for sure!

Eva Rae Thomas, former FBI Profiler, and her children return to her hometown to live with her mother. Eva Rae hired a P.I. to find her sister that was kidnapped when she was 7. Hoping to find her long lost sister alive. Eva Rae arrived at the same time 3 girls disappeared walking home after Prom. Matt, Eva Rae's high school boyfriend, now a Detective asks Eva Rae if she could help out on the missing girls case. Eva Rae joins the Team hoping to find the three girls. This story is filled with suspense, intense, evil, plenty of twists and turns. It kept my interest from the start through every twist and turn all the way to that frustrating cliff hanger, lol. I love the relationship between Eva Rae and Matt. I'm waiting for the next book! I read this book through an arc program and this is my own opinion about the book. 💖🐧💋
