I wasn’t the president of the Devil’s Rage MC when I fell in love with Calix Durante.

Hell, I was barely a prospect. Him being the Iron Heretics President should have kept us apart, but it didn’t. We kept our affair a secret for years before he called it off. Only, while I was falling in love with him, he never let me get closer than arm’s length.

Now, we’re still bikers, both presidents, and he’s keeping me a lot further away than arm’s length these days. A truce between our clubs has fixed me in his orbit, but I’d have never guessed it would take another man to bridge the divide between us.

Neven is beautiful, shy, and possesses an unknown allure that has Calix wrapped around his finger. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous. Of course, I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t wrapped right around his finger too.

Dissent is the fourth book in the Iron Heretics MC featuring an intense love story between three men—Holden, Calix, and Neven. This series is best read in order.

Missing something

First off, this was way too short for an MMM/poly romance to be believable ; especially in the emotions/romance department. Heck, even in the physical connection side, things were barely fleshed out. Plus we had the whole revenge/subterfuge thing going on and you know what? The least said, the better.

If ANY of the books in the series had to be full length, this was certainly it but because it wasn't, everything felt overly rushed and underdeveloped. This was unlike the previous books in the series where even though they were novella length, everything was done satisfactorily.

I hope the next one goes better.

I’ve accused this series of lacking in depth, only telling half the story, being way too insta and having everything resolved quickly with little real angst. And the same is true of this book. But to be honest, I think this is my fave of the series so far.

That has mostly to do with Calix and Holden. Again, we jump into a story already 8 years in the making. These 2 have a history and are not together, due to reasons. But what worked for me was that they were just so honest about how they felt about each other at this point in time. I liked them and wanted to see their HEA.

Now, Nevan is another story. I liked him also but these 3 fall into being a throuple within about 48 hours and that wasn’t really satisfying. These books are short. And there’s always drama that needs to be resolved. And the relationship development always suffers.

But a big plus here with the writing in this book, is that we have absolutely none of the “time jump and recap” style this author is fond of, and that sometimes confuses the crap out of me. It made the story so easy to read and I definitely enjoyed it a whole lot more.

These books are really only bite sized pieces of a much larger story. But I still keep reading. Maybe I just love bikers who have marshmallow centred hearts.

It was really good. I love the pining between Calix and Holden, and how they both react to Neven. I wish there'd been more time to develop their individual relationships on paper, but I get how some readers might've found it tiring for the burn to be slower. I liked the conflict too, and how it relates with the previous book

I’d been looking forward to this book. It didn’t live up to my expectations. There was entirely too much going on for such a short book. There was no real character development. The relationship seemed to come out of nowhere. The end of the story arc was anticlimactic. They deserved more time to get crap done. This was too rushed. Too forced. This felt nothing like the other books in the series.

I’m not satisfied. YMMV 🤷🏽‍♀️

3/14/2023 I’m still very dissatisfied. This was just too short to do what needed to be done. It was like the actual story for these characters was an afterthought. There is no on page development. The interactions were shallow at best. Just possessive growl “mine” and it’s done. You get more relationship growth out of an instalove, fated mate story (a genre I love, by the way). The characters , and their relationship, deserved better than this story. This is not a true example of the Michelle Frost writing that hooked me.

Calix, Holden, and Neven's romance had the perfect balance of sweet bonding, steamy moments, and heart-pounding action. I love a good MC story, and even though I haven't read any of the other books in this series it was easy for me to follow along with the Iron Heretics. Though I would have loved to see some flashbacks of all the years Calix and Holden spent hooking up in secret, the way this story was written made it easy for me to tell that all three men were on even footing in their relationship. I adored watching as Calix and Holden got to know Neven, and the three of them had such natural compatibility that it felt inevitable that they would end up together. I've read some MMM stories that put a big focus on how torn the main characters were about loving multiple people, and I have to say it was refreshing to see polyamory accepted here without any angst. These men complemented each other so well that it was genuinely a joy to watch as they fell head-over-heels for each other. I knew the secrets Neven was keeping would have to come to light before they'd get their happy ending, but I'll admit that I was shocked to see just how dangerous their situation got. It gave me a vicious sense of satisfaction to see Calix and Holden ride in to save the day, but I was even more thrilled by the way Neven defended himself. When the dust settled, the way Holden, Calix, and Neven held onto each other instead of letting misunderstandings derail their relationship showed me that their committment to each other was serious. I'm so happy with the way their story ended, and I loved it so much I'm going to go back and read the rest of this series as soon as I can!

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Marshmallows

Is there anything better than than a motorcycle club romance? Usually, I’d say no, but… When you mix two deliciously sexy MC presidents and add in a sprinkle of sweet, shy and vulnerable, that’s a recipe for a mouth watering treat I need thirds of. I love the heck outta these men. “This thundering cadence in my chest wasn’t weakness. It was power and the food my soul had been begging for. I loved them. I was a better man because of them. And I’d take care of both of them, protect both of them, until it was my turn to go into the ground.” I knew from the moment we met Calix he was a force, and then when we met Holden that there was an even better story ahead, but I never imagined it to be the heartfelt and rewarding love story it is, when these two meet Neven and are finally as they’re all meant to be. Sparks, smiles, happiness, thrills—these three have it all and more. I love this series, this family, the adventures and above all the amazing love that grabs hold and doesn’t let go.

DISSENT was probably my favorite of the series and I like that it takes place a year or so after the last book so there's no overlapping events (which was a little confusing sometimes in the previous books). Calix and Holden have a history but their love for Neven was brand new. Both our MC presidents want to take care of protect and Neven and it was really sweet to see them come back together this way. This is insta-love and low angst when it comes to the relationship, however there's plenty of angst surrounding our villain who shows up toward the end.

Content Warning: references to forced prostitution via drug use, kidnapping, torture; on page attempted rape (stopped fairly quick)

Instant strong feelings were kinda a theme for this book. Insta-lust between Calix and Holden eight years ago when they first met, with emotions building over the years, although Calix did his best not to admit it. Instant protectiveness and desire when Calix set his eyes on Neven and when Holden met the younger man, too. And an instant click between the three when they all agreed to be together.

The book wasn't very long and things moved rather quickly between the three men, but I believed it. They had intensity, passion, chemistry and they definitely cared about each other...no doubt they belonged together.

Dissent was sweet and hot and everything in between, and with a bit of danger to spice things up. Loved it!

A romantic yet exciting read!
Holden: He was not what I expected from a future/president of an MC. Even surrounded by the violence of a corrupt club he has a high sense of justice and an inherent kindness.
Calix: Ahhh the protector that thinks he is doing the right thing by pushing Holden away. I was surprised at how gentle he could be and how he was willing to eventually realize how wrong he had been. Neven: It took me longer to connect with him. Knowing what brought him to where he was and seeing how much he cared about Holden and Calix helped me understand him better.
I loved the dynamic with these three and coupled the excitement of the story it was a great read.
I also adored the surprise connection between Holden and Neven .

Calix and Holden have history together - they’ve been casually seeing each other for close to a decade. Both claiming it’s only physical, but we know better. The main reason it’s remained strictly physical is because Calix is the president of the Iron Heretics MC and Holden is the president of the Devil’s Rage MC. Calix broke it off however neither has really moved on. When they each meet Neven they discover a missing piece to the puzzle that is their relationship and there’s some hope that this could actually work. It was great to see them finally get their HEA with the addition of a sweet boy that is also desperately looking for love.

Freakin Fantastic!! The author did not disappoint us! It begins with how the two club presidents Holden and Calix meet but flashes forward to where they are in the present. They have a history spanning almost a decade even thou Calix broke it off neither one really loved on. Calix meets Neven and wants to protect the sweet man. Neven desperately wants to be loved and he fins it with these two. I loved every word in the story! The story is very well written with complex characters, highly recommend. So good! I’m so glad we got to see Calix and Holden get their HEA with an even!

Another fantastic addition to the series! I’ve wanted Calix’s story for a long time and this didn’t disappoint. What I loved was the simple acceptance he had of the mistakes he’d made in the past and that he could keep running from them. Once he realised that he was all in and it was beautiful to see. The faith these men have in each other (their special someones and their brothers) is so lovely to read about. The Heretics are a true family and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

This is the 4th book in the Iron Heretics MC and is about Calix, Holden and Neven. It starts in the past 8 years ago and shows us how Holden and Calix meet and how they’ve been casually seeing each other for close to a decade with both claiming it’s only physical. Now 8 years later after ending there relationship they are now presidents of their respective clubs. When these two meet Neven they discover a missing piece to their relationship and there’s some hope that this could actually work. Filled with passion, action, romance, chemistry, danger and love.

Say It Isn't Over

I think this may be my favorite out of this series. Calix and Holden are both presidents of rival mc clubs, but also secret lovers off and on again for the last decade. They are reunited by their attraction to Neven, another worker at Spritz who is hiding a secret. Danger is always around the corner but these men are willing to put their lives on the line to protect their boys. I don't want this series to end. Highly recommend if you love big, tattooed, motorcycle men who live hard and love harder.

At first I thought this was going to be some kind of Romeo and Juliet thing where they’re enemies to lovers but then it turned into Romeo and Juliet and Neven. I wasn’t even mad, but my problem came with how they acted as a trio.

I felt like there was way more chemistry between Holden and Calix and Neven was kind of just there.

And not to be a smut diva but when I see a trio I’m expecting an extra serving of spice and I didn’t even really even get normal spice. Like the big scene barely included Neven. This didn’t really feel like a trio more like Neven was an added accessory.

This one was good, but I think I would have liked it better if it just focused on Holden and Calix. Neven was a good character, but the poly relationship began so soon and without any dialogue really beyond "do you want this?" I think the author could have pulled off the storyline with Razor without Neven, considering Holden's past with him. Holden never really felt like a president to me because we never really saw him leading anyone. The ending was really action-packed, which I appreciated. Overall a decent ending to a series.

Loved this book!! As soon as I heard that this book was going to be about Calix I honestly couldn’t wait. He had this instant connection with Neven and he was so loving with him and he couldn’t keep Holden at arms length anymore. Not used to seeing him that way. Only thing I didn’t like about the book was it wasn’t long enough for me. I need more of these three. Book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the series in order, you won’t be disappointed.

This was a short fast read in the Iron Heretics universe. It starts with a look back 8 years ago as to how Holden and Calix meet. Fast forward 8 years and Calix and Holden are now presidents of their respective clubs. Calix meets Neven when he visits a club; who he takes one look at him and the need to protect is fierce. This is their story of how the 3 men got together. I really enjoyed it.

Calix and Holden have a past that spans years.
Fast forward to the present, they are both presidents of their MCs, and haven't been able to get over one another. Loving in secret isn't always easy.
Then Calix meets Neven and he goes into protector mode. Their relationship does not end with two.

Calix, Neven, and Holden - a gentle force to bring them back together, in the form of three.

Menage MC Romance

Great ending to the series but hopefully we'll get more of the Iron Heretics MC stories. Of the three men, my favorite has to be Holden. He is strong, caring, loyal and doesn't give up. Holden and Neven are a great match for Calix. They make him soft in a good way and more human. Neven is lucky to have two men who absolutely love him.

I recommend this story but best read in sequence for a better understanding of events.

Finally Calix gets his story

I am so happy that Calix finally got his story. I wasn't sure how Holden and another guy were going to work for Calix but it worked beautifully. While to some it might seem all instalove but if you've read all the previous books in the serious it makes sense. I am happy that there will be more in this series.

So good!

I’ve really enjoyed this series and so I was happy to see Hayden and Calix story with cute Neven pulling them both in. This was quick paced, with a bit of angst, lots going on and we got to see a more tender side of Calix. I think it was well written and we were able to see some of the characters from previous books.

Calix and Holden have a long history, two different MC’s presidents who have ended their secret relationship. Can Neven be the glue that puts them back together? Differently but better?
There is action, romance and heat, what more could the reader want?
Dissent is another fantastic addition to the series!
I really enjoyed it.

Good chemistry

Dissent is the fourth book in the Iron Heretics MC series that centers around Calix, Holden, and Neven. The story is well written and enjoyable. They have great chemistry. My only problem is there wasn't enough. There were places that felt a little rushed were more details would have been nice.

This book was far too short and rushed for the amount of story that was jammed in it. The book could have been amazing if it was longer and the characters more fleshed out. To say this is a MMM poly story is a stretch. Calix and Holden had the relationship and Neven was an observer.

Insta love

This threesome lacks very little conflict. If you like insta love with no reasoning behind it then this is for you, but if you need substance this is going to leave you hungry..

It's frustrating because Michelle Frost writes very well with little to no grammatical or spelling errors but every couple seems to cannon ball into love with little to no pressure.
