Sebastian My life would have been so much better if Zoey had never walked back into it. She was the first girl I ever loved, and the one I should have spent my life with. Instead, she took her empty promises and vows of love and married someone else. But it’s been years, and she’s back. Without the husband. She’s single once again, and has two kids and even more of those curves that always made me crazy. I just have to stay away from her for two months. She stayed away for years. I can handle a few months. I hope. Zoey I thought walking away from my marriage was going to be tough, but it was nothing compared to walking back into my past. To seeing the man I fell in love with before I knew what love meant. Before I knew who I was or what I wanted from life. The last time Sebastian and I lived in the same town, I vowed to return to him. I thought he would move on when I didn’t, but he never got married. He never found anyone else. He was still single, but my life was too complicated to get involved with him. Or anyone. But life doesn’t always listen. Sometimes things happen that force us to discover just how much we can handle. And to find who will be there when we’re at our worst. I never thought it would be Sebastian coming to my rescue. I should have known better. That’s the kind of man he is. Too bad he’s not interested in sticking around. Karma’s a b@tch.
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary E Thompson spent most of her childhood wishing she had a few less curves. She hid in the pages of books because her favorite characters never cared what size her clothes were. Now, neither does Mary, and she writes stories that celebrate women like her. Real women who have curves, chase dreams, and find love, because we should all be happy, no matter our dress size. Mary spends her non-writing time with her husband and two kids, watching too much TV, cheering for her hometown football team (Go Bills!), and hiding chocolate from her family.
I had trouble several times in continuing to read during, approximately, the first quarter to third of the book. Being in an abusive marriage, and reading some of the situations triggered me and I had to stop reading.
The descriptions of the way Zoey is treated during her marriage is nothing short of mental/emotional abuse.
Zoey wants to give her children a wonderful Summer vacation, so she brings them to MacKellar Cove where she and her brother Gavin had such wonderful vacations as children. Aunt Gina has recently turned over MacKellar Cove Inn to Gavin and Piper. So Zoey is hoping her children enjoy it as much as they did as kids.
The one "thorn" in her plan is Sebastian. They were in love as teenagers and Zoey made some different choices. Any more and I'll give you a spoiler!
However, I do want to warn you that how Sebastian treats Zoey in the beginning is downright cruel and also triggered me.
I was able to continue reading and after that beginning section I was fine reading it and actually ended up enjoying it!
The reason I am not able to give this book 5* is due to the triggering with no warnings of this possibility happening. Ms. Thompson is one of my favorite authors and she handles hard situations amazingly well. Hence why I was able to finish the book!

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Book Boyfriends Wanted series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Sometimes second chances are all we get and when we do grab ahold and don’t let go. Zoey is so strong finally divorced but the mental and emotional abuse she had to endure. To reset she decides her, and the children needed a much needed fun, relaxing and to heal what better place than the place she had wonderful vacation growing up. Sebastian is sexy as all get out but unreasonable at times and downright mean. I can say he does get better in dealing with her and the chemistry is just as intense and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but is it enough for them to work it out, can she heal from the mental /emotional abuse, and will they both grab on to the second chance at happiness?
'His Curvy Ex' By Mary E. Thompson is the eighth book in her Book Boyfriends Wanted series and tells the story of Zoey, recently divorced with two children who moves back to her hometown, and Sebastian, her former high school sweetheart. Zoey and Sebastian see each other, unexpectedly, when Sebastian was working on her aunt's garden both were a bit unprepared. Zoey panicked, turned, and ran the other way. Sebastian knew she was home but didn't think she would run from him, he thought they could at least be friends.
Ms. Thompson has written a fabulous addition to her series. The chemistry between Zoey and Sebastian is quite apparent but they both have baggage and do not trust easily. The story contains family drama, trust issues, new beginnings, old feelings, and plenty of steam. Plus two hilarious kids that supply levity. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes second chance romance. And who doesn't?

Full length lovely ‘second chance’ romance. The reader is taken through the painful reunion of Zoey & Sebastian. Ten years before, Zoey broke Sebastian’s heart by marrying another man, and now she’s back, divorced, disillusioned, and with her two children in tow. Her plan is to give her kids a summer to remember before returning to Pittsburgh. I enjoyed the way both Sebastian & Zoey try to fight the chemistry that still exists between them. The story positively hums with the emotional vibes they both throw off, especially in the steamy scenes where they both tell themselves are just ‘scratching an itch’. I enjoyed reading this story as it was a bit more 'in depth' than your average romance novel; and will certainly make a point of reading some of the previous books in the series (as well as the next one!)

While this is a part of a series, you do not have to read the prior ones to understand and enjoy this one. I personally haven't read the prior ones. I was totally engrossed while reading about Zoey and Sebastian.
I also enjoyed the dual POV format of this book. Getting that glimpse into the two characters' thoughts really helped me to understand them. This helped me with Zoey here. Seeing why see married Trevor while still in love with Sebastian was a big hurdle for me until getting her perspective.
This is a very sexy story. I would recommend to any adult especially if you love second chance romance with a first love.
Zoey has gone back to MacKellar Cove to help her brother run the Inn; to give her children, Alexa 6 and Cameron 8 a good summer holiday; to recoup from her divorce; to decide what to do about a job, and hopefully to keep out of Sebastian's way. He was her first love and she let them both down when, through no fault of his, she left him. Of course, things don't work out that way. Sebastian has never got over her, and she, although she married someone else, never got over him. A great story of families and love from Mary. Sebastian and Zoey used to be in love when they were younger until she chose to marry someone else. Now years later she's divorced with two kids and returning to her hometown. Sebastian is not very happy about her return seeing how he was devastated when she left yet he also still has feelings for her. Can they overcome their past and Zoey's emotional baggage to find their HEA? You really need to read this book and find out what happens between them.

Sebastian and Zoey had something special once but she left and married an abusive man, but had a couple of adorable kids. Now away from him, Zoey comes back to her favorite place and finds Sebastian again. The characters are strong and determined. The storyline has great backstories and intense feelings and emotions. Surprises, miscommunications, hurt feelings, and more to keep you glued to the pages. Loved the ending.

Another good read from Mary Thompson. This book will not disappoint. Who doesn't love a second chance romance, not to mention a man like Sebastian?! Mary Thompson brings you into the lives and struggles of the characters and makes you feel like part of the Book Boyfriends group of friends. There are familiar characters from her other books in the series but you don't have to read those to enjoy this book. Definitely recommend this book.
Emotionally a slow burn, physically it’s up and down through the story—but oh so hot when it is up. I like that Sebastian eventually tells Zoey how badly she hurt him and she tells him the full story of why she chose Trevor and they don’t wait until the end of the book. I like that he gets called out on his behavior by Hudson—that was pretty funny to me. I was very pleasantly surprised by the new Trevor in the end and I really hope he gets a book.
Another great book. This is a second chance romance. Years ago Zoey left MacKella Cove and Sebastian her first love without any explanation.
Now she returning to MacKella Cove with two kids and a divorce under her belt to see her brother.
Zoey has never gotten over Sebastian. And now he is right outside redesigning the garden to her family Inn.She knows he must hate her. But he is still the only that makes her heart skip a beat.
Great story!! Lots of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Sebastian and Zoey had a lot of things to work through, including a huge garden. But it was worth it!! The characters are well-developed and written. Communication is the key! A sweet, hot, enlightening romance. I highly recommend this book!

Fantastic! Zoey and Sebastian had such hot chemistry. This was such a great storyline. I loved how the ex became a friend and talked to his kids, that was such a great part of the book.
