Joining the Council of Sorcery and Shifters was a simple decision for the ruler of the brown bears. Two centuries later, Artair Ursus Arctos is a successful leader with a loving family, and the only thing he wants is his mate. Artair is fascinated by magic and secretly hopes to find forever with a sorcerer.
As a child, Lochlan Airle had privilege and wealth but lacked any control. He walked away from his prominent family at eighteen, only to get fired from countless jobs. Behind the scenes, his mother uses all her connections to break his spirit, but she will not deter him. After finally landing a job at the Circle of Mages, a matebond is the last thing on his mind.
Twenty-six-year-old Riker McKenna has a hard-earned doctorate and enough magic to guarantee immortality. Although his brother’s decision to stay with their wastrel parents broke his heart, Riker is determined to make the most of everything. When he qualifies for employment at the Circle of Mages, he does not know it will lead him to his mates.
Within a week, the three men meet and must confront the poor odds of triple matebonds in the Council. To reach the affinity they desire, they will have to rapidly adjust to each other and all the surprises life has in store.
Jessamyn Kingley has published over forty titles and refuses to pick a favorite among them. With an extraordinary passion for her characters, Jessamyn eagerly crafts new tales and avidly re-reads them whenever her schedule allows. Jessamyn shares a home in Nevada with her husband and their three spoiled cats. When she is not writing or adding new ideas to her thick stack of beloved notebooks, she is gaming with family and friends.
I'm being generous giving this 2 stars. Only because the characters juvenile banter occasionally made me chuckle. My main problem with this book was that it had too much mundane daily stuff going on. It really bogged down the story. There were so many missed opportunities for something interesting to happen but it didn't. Then out of nowhere near the end a ton of things happen but we are only told about it all in summary style.
I love all of the D'Vaire series books!! As soon as a new book pops up for Pre-order it is an automatic buy for me. Triple Affinity was no exception. I was really looking forward to how Jessamyn was going to approach this story as this was her first MMM story. All three men in the relationship are honestly adorable.
The mages Lochlan and Riker did not have the best childhood and have bad relationships with their parents. This makes Artair such a good mate for the two mages, as he has a loving and close relationship with his family members.
I love that both Lochlan's brother, Lawson, and Riker's brother, Reece, ended up joining the family. Even though Lochlan and Riker made a new family with Artair, it was nice that not all of the mages' blood family members were terrible people.
I have to say, throughout the book I was hating the Magus Superus Egann Pyris. He was an egotistical a-hole. I kept hoping that Lochlan and Riker would be made new co-rulers for the mages. It was a happy surprise with all for mages: Lochlan, Riker, Lawson, and Reece were made leaders. I am definitely curious as to who the missing Aqua mage is though.
I can't wait to see what Jessamyn does next!!

This story made my heart happy. As the first successful triple pairing in the series, the author did this MMM justice. All three men in the mating were incredibly sweet and supportive of one another. After initial worries about the large percentage of triple bonds failing were worked through, nothing stopped Lochlain, Riker, and Artair from moving forward and creating a wonderfully equal relationship. They strived to never leave anyone out and that is something important for MMM reads.
Learning about the Circle of Mages was interesting as we haven't had much interaction or information about them in previous books. Of course their elementals were absolutely adorable and totally stole the show with their cuteness. Teary blowing raspberries gave me a big case of the awwwws.
As always I look forward to more in the D'Vaire series. Next up is Donnell, Artairs cousin and a bear who made no secret of his wish for his own mate in this book. It looks like Fate has answered his call.
Especially Owen who does the kindest thing ever. This book has largely new characters without plenty of them from previous books popping up. Magic is always interesting and like real life science and technology it can be used for good or abused for self-gain. A most entertaining book!
Rating: 4.5 stars Another great book in the D’Vaire series. I loved the family of bears. I also liked getting an insight to the mages. They had been mention before but nothing was really known about them before now. I loved the elementals and thought they made a great addition to the series. I was also glad that the author tackled the triple mate bond and showed that it could work. I really liked how the three MCs approached their mating. All in all, an excellent addition to the series.
First book I read in the serie, the story is good and felt like a stand alone, HEA for the couple/triad but I would have liked an better end. The sex scenes where boring and to much dialoge. I liked that theres no drama between the 3 MC. Some annoying family members and other bi characters.
This series is still going strong! I loved the new characters and story line. I hope we get to see the betas mated and the new Aqua mage! I can't wait for the next book
This book could be the beginning of it's own series. I would like to see what happens to the brothers along with the bear guard. I'll play we will get to see each of the unique their fated mate
This was another wonderful story in the D’Vaire series. The three main characters really make it work as a threesome and. I loved it. Highly recommended
A three-way pairing that doesn't end in tragedy, progress!
Poor little cinderellawater mage is so super powerful, but neglected because reasons.
Build up the fire-mages as the oppressors only to kill them offstage in a stupid magic-sharing incident.
Does make one wonder what Fate's deal is, is she just guessing about good leaders? There are a lot more hits than misses (Mages, Wizards, Centaurs, some Dragon clan leaders), or does absolute power corrupt absolutely, and all the current crop of D'Vaire will, in a few hundred years, bend under the weight of absolute power and become tyrants in their own right?
Triple affinity is the twenty-third book in the D’Vaire series and ideally should be read in order.
To say I love this book (and series) would be the understatement of the year! I would read it a thousand times over. Jessamyn Kingley’s books are an auto buy for me, sometimes I don’t even read the blurb. If you haven’t started this series, then what are you doing/ waiting for? You are seriously missing out, so do yourself a favour and start this series!!!
Triple Affinity is a special book that has rare type of magic embedded into the pages - enthralling the readers.
Lochlan is elegant, analytical and unimaginably powerful.
Riker is completely different being fun, outgoing, and no nonsense.
Artair is, again opposite to his mates, loyal, kind, considerate and has a big heart.
I couldn’t help but beam while reading this book. These three are just so incredibly sexy and special and AMAZING!! They could make anyone believe in true love with the sweet vulnerability between them.
Delicious slow burning tension filled their journey, that continued to burn brighter with every interaction. They had an instant connection despite the situation and it blossomed into the sweetest passion filled journey. They worked in a way that created balance. Opposites and yet they fit. They just made sense even though they shouldn't of.
I absolutely love this author's world building and story telling, it is second to none. She has a style all of her own where you feel you are in the story along with all her characters in the world that she has made you believe is real.
The elementals were just beyond cute and Artair’s family is awesome.
I’m so disappointed I couldn’t read this book before now but I had an eye operation so reading wasn’t in the books for me (pun intended). Why do my favourite authors always release new books when I’m having an operation? The reading gods are clearly laughing at my expense.

After showing two failed triads in her books, Kingley finally gives us one that works. Artair Ursus Arctos is the Alpha of the Bear shifters for the Council. His two mates are mages with the Circle of Mages. Sweet and magical.
