Black Mayhem Mafia Saga #2

Her Deep Reverence: Pregnant by a Black Mafia Don

Rate this book
Hassan Black, money man for the Black Mayhem Mafia, is known for his wild and reckless behavior. Out of his brothers, Hassan is the one that often finds himself bringing the most trouble to the family. Even though he has his vices and demons, like all men, Hassan has positive qualities that make him an asset not only to the family business but women as well. The playboy, Hassan has more women than he can juggle … but he’s willing to discard of them all if it means securing the love of Vanna Lewis.

Vanna has never valued the love of a man. If anything, she’s seen men as a way to elevate to the next phase of her life. Used to using her charm, beauty, and appeal to get whatever she wants, Vanna meets her match with Hassan. She can’t deny the instant attraction they share and must completely switch up how she typically handles men.

The two fight against their brewing love for as long as they can, but because of his brother and her best friend’s relationship, they find themselves together often. One night of intimacy leads to the conception of their first child. Unfortunately, having a baby on the way doesn’t make settling down as easy as Hassan thought it would be, and he learns the hard lesson Vanna lives by—she doesn’t get mad, she gets even …

Her Deep Pregnant by a Black Mafia Don, is a street lit romance heavy on love gained, lost, and loyalty betrayed. These characters were first introduced in In His Bought by a Black Mafia Prince but that story does not have to be heard to enjoy and understand this one.

Hassan, Hassan, Hassan 🤦🏽‍♀️😑 Why did you stress me out like this?!

The hot head of the bunch took me through it and I’m still on the fence about whether or not he’s as “redeemable” y’all claim! Hassan Black is definitely a fk a 🥷 up and ask questions later type of man! He’s also a firm believer that he’s not a one woman man. He thinks with the little head and not the big one but one thing he’s never done is sold anyone pipe dreams! This includes Vanna!

As Scarlett’s BFF, Vanna has been in the Black fold so she’s familiar with Hassan. The chemistry between these two is undeniable but with two extremely opposite views on relationships, they were doomed before they could get their feet off the ground!

One thing I will say is that Hassan was always honest! Yes his betrayal was fkd up and I wish Vanna would’ve made him work harder for forgiveness but for the most part he was always upfront with Vanna as far as what he was able to give commitment wise.

Baby that last hour of this audio took me out!! I went from being pissed off at Hassan to wishing him the worst type of pain to being on the edge of my seat! To say that ending took me out and was hella unexpected is an understatement! There was definitely plenty of Mayhem in this book and kept me entertained. This series continues to exceed my expectations (they weren’t high to begin with 😂) and I’m ready to dive into book 3!

I really tried liking it especially cause it‘s about poc-characters from a poc-author but it was bad written and the story was chaotic.
The (very) high use of the n*-word made me uncomfortable and sometimes it doesn’t fit the situation. The writing style in general was bad. It feels like a 13 year old kid on wattpad has written this book. Poor word choices, poor grammar and no emotions at all.
Then it says that you can read this book without knowing the first one in the series (the first book isn‘t included in kindle unlimited so I decided to check out the second book instead before paying 7€) but this isn‘t true. The plot is so fast paced that you can‘t hold up without the insider information from part one, like so many names and described happenings from book one I lost the overview.
The characters aren‘t introduced well and felt flat. There were literally NO emotions at all, so you as a reader can‘t really dive in the story because you don‘t feel a connections to the characters.

Well, firstly this was an easy read and of course it was HOT…. But I was a little f***ed up towards the end.

Lets start the at beginning. This was the first book in the series I read, although it was the second book in the series, so I had to pay attention to understand the dynamics of the family and also Hassan and Vanna’s relationship. But after a few chapters I was able to get to grips with it. Vanna and Hassan has met in book one and their story continued in this book. The book was prefaced that you don’t need to read each book to understand what’s happening.

The first half of the book was about them learning to trust each other in order to be able to commit to each other. I loved this part and thought it was cute and gave me all the feels. I mean all relationships take some work right, so yeah they did their thing.

But then things took a turn which I felt cheapened Vanna and Hassan’s relationship. I don’t want to give any spoilers in this review so I won’t go into too much details but if you’re planning to read this, you’ll need some patience for the second half.

No doubt, the story was engaging, I mean it’s still got me all up in my feels even while writing this review lol.

I loved Vanna’s character; she was well thought out and developed. B Love wrote her in a way that although she was a product of her upbringing, she was able to re-write the course of her life and her future.

Hassan on the other hand, I felt was in a constant battle with himself. Not much more to say on him but I’m not a fan.

Overall, the book was good until it wasn’t. I’m not a fan of this trope but that’s just me.

My highlights

We shouldn’t be anxious over things we fear, especially when we have no proof they are actually going to happen.

I enjoyed the audio book, but I can’t stand the cheating trope. Especially without any real groveling. I thought Vanna would’ve entered her villain era messing with Hassan. That one punch was not enough for me. He had every opportunity to dodge hurting that girl but his karma came either way. Overall good read.

I'm pretty sure that this couple needs another book

Hassan is still my favorite, but I need Vanna to be petty and show some reciprocity for his actions. Not another novel, maybe a Book 2.5 because... the audacity of Hassan.

So many side eyes!!!!

The author had me giving soooooo many side-eyes with this second book in the Black Mayhem Mafia saga. It was all going so well with Hassan and Vanna… from their equal opportunity public property sexuality ways at the beginning there was soooo much growth until…. The Incident. And the author wrote her socks off trying to reconcile the issue but for me, there wasn’t enough grovel and it was too rushed. I’m also wanting deeper, lengthier epilogues. But am I obsessed with this series, yes! Can’t wait for the next one…

Loved loved loved 💕!!! This is a 10 book series but the reads are not the long at all. The storyline is actually pretty quick and to the point. That being said I loooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeee these characters!!!!! I be left wanting more when the story is over. I’m so glad that there are 8 more reads after this one.

Now at the end of this book the author asked if readers could guess who’s story is next…. I’m going to put my guess in and say Dijon ( the baby sister of the Black Mayhem Mafia)!! Let’s see if I’m right….on to book 3!!!!

Now doe this book!!! Hassan and Vannna!! I did not think anyone can replace my love cos Rue and Camryn…. Well Sanny and Van did!!! So happy when I read the growth of a character and it was definitely some growth with the both of them!! I quickly ordered book 3!!! And I am highly anticipating Savant’s story!

4.5 This was cute little read that's still connected to the first book. Hassan really was pissing me off because why you cant keep your shit in your pants. Vanna was that girl, she was a real one to take Hassan back. I just felt like this book was missing some drama and action. the action didn't take off until the last chapter of the book.

Black Mayhem

I am loving the Black Mayhem Mafia. This Saga is everything, the drama, secrets and lies in this read was crazy, but so expected. Everything between this couple happened so fast, that I saw the cheating coming.

Wow. Talk about Hassan shooting himself in the foot… LITERALLY! Thats what happens when you think with your penis. Smh. He and Vanna both worked a nerve, but I really enjoyed their story. With Hassan’s lifestyle Im shocked he let Malia get to him. I had a feeling it was some type of set up. Their story ended nicely. Im sure in the other books we will get an update on them.

This would've been 5 stars but I'm too pissed off and in my feelings and I'm still not okay. I know why it had to happen with their story, could've been avoided but also it added to the story and their relationship. I get it but I don't like it. Just extremely disappointed with that one thing but the book was too good up until then so I'm trying to get over it and just appreciate the story.

WHEW CHILE

These two had my blood pressure up. I enjoyed book 1 of this series, but I genuinely loved Hassan and Vanna story. Vanna is a real MVP, she made it known that she’s not for the BS no matter what.
This story truly hit some real life gems and Rakim said it best. I love how this series is so transparent about childhood trauma and how it affects relationships. I love how their relationship wasn’t cookie cutter and they had to overcome some dark times. They found love in their own way. Ms B Love you did your thing with these two characters, definitely a favorite

Can you Trust a Don?

Why Hassan??? He made me so mad in this story. His nonchalant attitude about being a fraud after he professed his so called love had me hot. Smdh

Hassan was the hot head of the Black family. He would trip off the slightest disrespect and that proved to harm him. He had a thing for Vanna but she cut him off when things were getting intense. Hassan didn't see himself with one woman and he kept a few in his rotation at whim. He was starting to think he wanted something more...

Vanna was bad. She had her body done and she was everything in all the right places. She was smart, confident, slightly manipulative, but loyal to those she loved. She cut off Hassan before they even got started because she felt like she could fall for him.

They decide to embark in a relationship as they unexpectedly start a family. Vanna was truly a real one because she allowed Hassan to feel safe to talk to her about anything....but as most men do they fumble the bag when a woman is too real. The story is about them navigating through their generational curses, first real relationships, lies, and love.

I love the Black and Mayhem family.

Black struggle love

There was no ‘deep reverence’ anywhere in San and Vanna’s relationship.

He disrespected her and their relationship by making a conscious decision to screw the help even AFTER every single person in his family told him BEFOREHAND not to risk or mess up his relationship with his PREGNANT girlfriend.

There was no reverence for Vanna, even though she laid her vulnerabilities bare, telling him why and how cheating would devastate her.

Vanna had no self reverence, either. She took Hassan because he got lured into a trap and shot up as a result of HIS cheating.

B. Love, I expect better.

Not loving this one

Ok, first let me say I really tried, but this story just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Up first, Vanna and her happily tricking on dudes as a career choice and then blaming it on, that’s how my moms raised me 🙄 Then, Hassan’s hoeing ass, just cause, like y’all know I’m a hoe and I tried to be faithful, gimme some credit for at least trying ass, hoe ass!! Ugh, yeah, I guess those two were a just alike, so made for each other. While I wasn’t expecting corny, I at least expected to like Vanna and Hassan while rooting for them to make it. But, nah!

I WAS ROOTING FOR HASSAN AND THEN HE WENT AND FUCKED UP...LIKE THE FUCK DUDE...I STILL THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE BOOK...THE 1ST 60% HAD ME HAPPY AND THE LAST 40% HAD ME PUNCHING AIR...BUT IT WAS STILL A GOOD BOOK CAUSE IT HIT ME IN MY ANGRY FEELS AND I DIDN'T CALL IT. I DEF CRIED WHEN HE CHEATED CAUSE, I FELT THAT ON A WEIRD PERSONAL LEVEL....HASSAN CAN GO TO HELL AND VANNA IS MY GIRL AND SHE DESERVED BETTER!!!

I didn’t mind the book in the beginning, especially with Hassan and Vanna’s relationship developing fast. The cheating part got me annoyed because it didn’t feel necessary, and then having other characters blaming Vanna and excusing his behavior was disgusting.

Style: African Ameri. Urban Mafia Romance
Story: 3/5

Sexual Level: GOOD

Series: Book 2

STORY:
I needed to list my disappointments. I was disappointed in this story, and even more so coming off the high of book 1. As much as Hassan was hot-tempered and out of control with his temper, this story was tame versus book 1 that gave me intensity.

1. That prologue, I think it went over my head. I felt it focused on Scarlett and Assad from book 1.
2. For 25% of the book, they were not together. I thought we would get to see a bit of how they meet and a bit of their history from Hassan’s and Vanna’s POV as we saw a little of it from book one. The story dove into them, not on speaking terms. So for me, it felt like it started in the middle and missing half the story.
3. Based on the title, I don’t feel like it lived up to the story, the way I thought it was going to go down in my head (that’s my fault for assuming). I was hoping we would see a little of mafia activity. One of the allure of book 1 was the mafia drama that was unfolding. Also, Vanna wasn’t pregnant until 55% of the book. So based on the title it did not feel like a strong storyline. This book was really about Hassan and his dickkie.
4. I was not feeling the direction the story went into along with the climax of the story. Like seriously, Hassan had me tripping like, huh!! That excuse was weak.
My 3 star is because I really like the chemistry between Vanna and Hassan when it’s good.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were satisfactory for me. I enjoyed them because you could feel their connection.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I enjoyed seeing Scar and Assad and all the Black family. As predicted from book 1, we saw how Scar’s pregnancy played out, which should have been in book 1. Nevertheless, they definitely added to the story.

OVERALL:
Not what I was expecting and needed more.

TRIGGERS: domestic altercation dealing.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Love On Love's Terms

This author just keeps getting better! I thought I'd be confused with understanding the members of the Black Mayhem Mafia...but it was the complete opposite. By the end of the book I felt like family, too. The character development and storyline is so perfect, you're hooked before the first chapter is finished. I knew it would be a bumpy ride with Hassan and Vanna. Anything between them would be a bomb waiting to explode. We literally get a birds eye view of an adult male becoming a man...not losing himself in the process but learning balance. Vanna also learned that she is worth the love and affection of one man; and with his support she's able to become the best version of herself. The most valuable nugget I gained from their story is this: I have to see and accept people for who they are and not what I want them to be. B. Love has done it again!!!

These 2 Made My Head Hurts

These two got on my da*n nerves! I don't understand how two people can love each other so much, and give each other so much h*ll! That is beyond me. Hassan kept teeing me off for messing up when he knew it was some mess in the game. Baby, I was on tbe edge of my seat. Literally, all at work trying to finish. However, Hassan and Vanna were made for each other. What a way to execute B. Love! I absolutely, positively love this story. They brought out the best in each other. What I could appreciate the most and found solace in, and was a breath of fresh air for me was how upfront and honest they were with one another. It's the realness and honesty for me. That made me want to have his baby, lol! Vanna was oit here looking for revenge all summer 21 though. 😂 You wrote the heck out this book, B. I'm here for the next one.

Alexa play “FDB” by Young Dro

I was angry af when I wrote this🤣, let’s go with 3.5 stars.
It’s a solid addition to the series, it just pissed me off because I wanted better for Vanna & Hassan.

I did enjoy that Hassan had screws lose & displayed some lunatic behavior (he was just dumb towards the end)

Hassan, Hassan, Hassan, you big dummy! At your big age. This is what happens when a city boy & a city girl get together. Hassan made an enemy out of me, this my villain origin story fr🤣. I got Vanna back because no sir. Anyways we in the Black mafia, so on to book 3!

Other Notes:
Rakim don’t ever need to give another piece of advice because what the hell was that?

The scene at his house 😒—security 🗣🗣

The handling of the Lamont situation made me proud

Love that Vanna throws hands

Vanna😘😘

Vanna was 🐐 when she said: I would smash Savant and disappear with your baby, but I’m trying to be a better woman and mother. Lord! I hollered. Hassan was foul and he almost died from his mistakes. I’m glad Vanna left him and I’m also glad that he felt guilty and felt was it was like to lose the woma. You lived. They loved each other deeply and fast and unfortunately , Hassan still had some growing up to do. But once his life was in danger she realized how much he meant to her and she decided to give him another chance. He better be thankful for it. The other chick deserve everything, that whooping that she got was well deserved then and then the finale was equally well deserved. Loved seeing that growth of this Black Mayhem Mafia. 😘❤️

HASSAN AND VANNA

What started put as flirtatious fun turned into love, happiness and new beginnings. Hassan and Vanna were definitely made for each other. They were both dealing with parental issues but seemed to open up freely about those feelings with each other and that was the start of their relationship. But things don't go as planned and Hassan learns the hard way do not mess with a woman scorned. His infidelity really took a toll on his relationship with Vanna but unfortunately through tragedy it bought them back together. I was happy that they decided to give their relationship another chance. This Mafia Saga is really starting to grow on me and can't wait to read the next story.

4 stars but….

Okay so this book was phenomenal. I love B.love and her writing style and defiantly her way of developing a story and it’s characters. This book was very good and overland I’d give it a 5 out of 5.
————beware of spoiler———————————
I hate cheating. I didn’t feel like it was necessary and honestly couldn’t wrap my mind around the fact that he did even after being warned by his sister. B.love did a great job with honestly handling the story after that because the way things ended of course didn’t excuse the cheating but it helped overcome it ig¿ idk I’m really conflicted it was a good read but the cheating for Hassan really changed the way I view his character afterwards especially towards vanna, but she for gave him so ig it’s not my problem lol.
