The book, Yoga A Love Story, by Douglas Davis, tells an epic tale of a man’s search for meaning and love in his life. As a biracial half Indian/half white male living in rural Indiana, protagonist John Yogacara Asanga faces many challenges. When he was young, his father, who serves in the United States Air Force and is also a storm chaser, taught him not to run from storms. Around the age of 18, John lost his father while chasing a double hurricane off the coast of Africa. As a result, he leaves Indiana and goes to the nearest big city.
In Chicago, he becomes a member of a notorious gang on the South Side of Chicago because they accept him. It is not easy to survive in the inner city and to belong to a gang. He eventually ends up in jail because of the gang’s criminal activities. He agreed to testify and was given witness protection not only in the United States, but also in India.
The real spiritual journey of John Yogacara Asanga begins in India. While traveling through the magnificent Kaziranga jungle, he encounters angels, demons, shapeshifting tigers, and breathtaking landscapes. When he masters Yoga in its truest form – a union with God – he comes to love himself, others, and finds love of his life, Aanya Devi Ghosa. Their story is charming, sweetly romantic, inspirational, and real.

The plot of the story begins with the detailed introduction of John's parents .His dad was a methodical pilot and had a huge positive influence on John.He lost his father at a young age of 18. As a result, he leaves Indiana . After he gets to Chicago, he joins an infamous gang wherein his criminal activities finally leads to his imprisonment.
John Yogacara Asanga begins his real spiritual journey in India by dedicating himself to yoga and meditation. He talks about the five kleshas: avidya, asmita, dvesha, raga and abhinivesha. 'Yoga A Love Story' by Douglas Davis is a good reminder that a great book can live from its character cast as well. It doesn’t need to have a compelling plot with twists and turns or action scenes that leave you gasping. Sometimes everything a book needs are well-thought out and realistic characters and yes, this is exactly what this book delivers.

This is a more character driven book than plot driven. Though plot itself is pretty magnificent, but the characters and writing is what makes this book a memorable experience. The setting of the story in North-Eastern India is exceptional!
How the author gets you to connect with the characters, is something not every author can do. The cast of characters like always are utterly compelling and you get attached to them almost right away. Author Douglas Davis takes you into a world unlike any other, with characters that feel real and come off the pages - you want them to be real. He presents you with a wonderful main character, John Yogacara Asanga, a strong self-assured female character, Aanya Devi Ghosa, whom you end up liking from her first appearance. I liked the platonic relationship between John and Aanya Devi. It's so perfect and such a special part of the book.
The book has a great moral to it and is one that strengthens faith in humanity and good people. Three-dimensional characters, awesome quotes, meaningful conversations, a little bit of magic and mysticism made this a wonderful read. Highly recommended.

📒Book review tour 📒 Title- Yoga- A Love Story 📒 Author- Douglas W. Davis 📒My rating- 4.9/5 📒My review: Yoga- A Love Story is, as it's name suggests, a religious book. It is written by Douglas W. Davis who is a writer, father, husband and a spiritual seeker. He lives in Los Angeles with his family. His ultimate goal is to connect all the spiritual seekers by letting them know that every religion is same and comes from same stem. 📒 The story is about a boy named John Yogacara Asanga. He is living in the Indiana city. His father who worked in US airforce was a role model for him but everything changed completely when he passes away while he was just 18. 📒 He started his new phase of life in an unknown city where no one knows him and noone is there to guide him. He started living in Chicago. He got himself involved in a gang who were into drugs and ultimately he got arrested after the police authorities find out. He spent many days in prison gor the crime he committed. 📒 When he was released, he started his new phase of life. He helped the authorities by becoming the witness and he started his new journey, new beginning towards India. 📒 He moved to India and discovered the beauty of North East India. He was totally mesmerized by the nature. He also started doing Yoga and later did master in it. And he also found the love of his life there. Her name was Anya Devi. Anya Devi significantly influenced John's life in a good way. Because of her help, he was able to come out from hi bad past. 📒 The story is really impressive. The dialogues are pretty good. Author has done an amazing job. He explained every point so perfectly.

📚The protagonist of the story is John Yogacara Asanga. John faced many challenges in his life after his father passed away.
📚At the age of 18 he had no one to look after him. So, he had to leave Indiana and moved to Chicago where he joined some gang and got mixed up with some illegal activities and got arrested for that.
📚 He later got a chance for new beginning by helping the officials by becoming a police witness due to which they gave him police protection.
📚 In the next phase of his life, he visited India where his spiritual journey began. And there he met Aanya, the love of his life in an Ashram. Aanya is a magnificent personality who had a greater impact on John's life. The author has beautifully described their bond.
📚In the Ashram, John practiced yoga and eventually mastered it and finally discovered his identity as an Asanga.

His father who served the US airforce had a great influence on him but a whole new story of his life started when his father passed away and he was just 18.
This new phase of life took him to Chicago. He had no one to guide him and unknowingly he joined a group of people who ran a gang which performed illegal activities and unfortunately he was arrested after their criminal activities were discovered by the authorities.
Once again it was the time for new beginning, he decided to help the authorities by serving as a witness and by this way he received protection and started his new journey for India.
While he visited India, he witnessed some amazing geographical wonders and nature's beauty, the north east India, the major aspects prevailing there and eventually he practiced yoga and mastered and met Anya Devi whom he started loving.
Anya Devi was a woman with significant personality who influenced John's life. Following the spirituality, John discovered a whole new life out of the dark and irrational past.

A adore story by Doughlas W. Davis is an outright well composed book. Somedays you fair need to perused something so immaculate, so genuine , something out of the box for unwinding perused, at that point this book is for you.
The story spins around the story of John Yogacara Asanga on his look of adore and meaning to the life. After losing his father, he has got to move from Indiana and was confronted with a parcel of challenges at Chicago. He got included with a group and finished up in a imprison.
His divine travel begun in India. He aced Yoga and learnt how to cherish himself to begin with and after that he fell in cherish with Aanya Devi Ghosa.
This book is made up of many emotions.A true imagination of undulations and basically the American lifestyle.
It's worth waiting for John how all these things happen.This is the first spiritual story I read. The author has done a great job of announcing this.
I personally loved reading this book. One of a kind and I enjoyed reading it If you want to know grab your copy and start reading.

A adore story by Doughlas W. Davis is an outright well composed book. Somedays you fair need to perused something so immaculate, so genuine , something out of the box for unwinding perused, at that point this book is for you.
The story spins around the story of John Yogacara Asanga on his look of adore and meaning to the life. After losing his father, he has got to move from Indiana and was confronted with a parcel of challenges at Chicago. He got included with a group and finished up in a imprison.
His divine travel begun in India. He aced Yoga and learnt how to cherish himself to begin with and after that he fell in cherish with Aanya Devi Ghosa.
This book is made up of many emotions.A true imagination of undulations and basically the American lifestyle.
It's worth waiting for John how all these things happen.This is the first spiritual story I read. The author has done a great job of announcing this.
I personally loved reading this book. One of a kind and I enjoyed reading it If you want to know grab your copy and start reading.
Written very carefully, this book is something that will be a delight to read and I absolutely recommend you to read it.This book is definitely worth the purchase and worth the read.

It is a spiritual genre, an outstanding story of John Yogacara Asanga.

⭐️ And the story consists of the epic journey of John, which starts from Indiana, where John lived to the bad world of drugs and then he landed to prostitution in Chicago to his experience of living in a prison and then to an Ashram in India.
⭐️ It’s the Ashram where he meets Asanga, where he finds the love of his life and finally finding his destiny as an Asanga.
⭐️ The book consists of so many emotions.

The book Yoga A Love Story by Douglas W. Davis is a Religious and Spiritual Fiction read of around 250 pages.
The story telling is segregated into 50 lessons which give you a glimpse about the transformational journey of the protagonist.
The story unfold when our protagonist's ( John Yogacara Asanga) father who was an airforce officer in the US army dies, John was just 18 years old that time and whose whole future was in front of him just being dark as he started a new journey in Chicago, and literally no one, not a single soul besides him to guide the difference between right and wrong.
Eventually and unfortunately, he pairs up with a bad gang who was into illegal activities and all that resulted in him being in prison, but after being set free, he promised himself for a better future for himself and landed up in India.
Who is Anya Devi? How he started walking in the paths of Spirituality and religion?
I personally loved the second half of the book and the fact that the North East and his journey was Penned down so beautifully that I couldn't resist to keep the book down.
In my opinion the book was quite peaceful, informative and insightful in the context of life and living a better life and future. I found this an captivating read.

Do you like to read life changing inspirational read and that too with a touch of fictional characters.?
The story revolves around our protagonists John Yogacara Asanga, for whom life has been tough since and beginning and especially after his father died when he was just a teenager, his whole education, career, morals and what not were at stake.
And unfortunately when he changed his city and moved to Chicago, his life became not just miserable but also in huge danger as he joined a gang and got involved in illegal activities, even went to jail for that .
But will he be able to get his life back on track?
Well yes, certainly.
He decided to move his life around and get himself into a better situation. And visited India to discover his new identity. That decision of his prove to be life changing and had a huge impact on him.
I personally loved the book especially how the author has portrayed his transformation journey in India was fantastic and inspiring.

This book recounts the epic journey of a man searching for meaning and love in his life. John Yogacara Asanga, a biracial half-Indian/half-white male living in rural Indiana, faces many challenges. His father, who is a storm chaser and serves in the United States Air Force, taught him not to run from storms when he was young. While chasing a double hurricane off the coast of Africa, John lost his father at the age of 18. Due to this, he leaves Indiana and goes to the nearest big city.

It’s a good book on the spiritual transformation of the main protagonist. The story keeps you hooked , the vocabulary is refreshing and the spiritual content is very interesting. I would give it a 4.5
