I have the neighbor from hell.
The shared wall of our duplex holds no secrets to his wild Las Vegas lifestyle. He’s late nights and pizza for breakfast. I’m early mornings and deadlines. I’ve never met him. I’ve never even seen him. But his dog has delivered the ultimate blow, and I’m forced to confront him.

My neighbor is a buttoned-up priss.
She shows up on my doorstep angry as hell and making demands. Our dogs may have forced us together, but the more I learn, the more I like. As if things weren’t complicated enough, now I find myself falling hard for the girl next door.

Henry & Ivy is a light and fun contemporary romance novella. Henry is a tattoo artist and Ivy is a paralegal for a divorce attorney. Henry parties a lot and Ivy spends her free time relaxing. Even though they are neighbors they haven’t met yet, which changes when Ivy discovers Henry’s dog impregnated her dog. I absolutely loved how these two met and their interaction/banter was so much fun. This is a short read but I thought it was a great summer read, and it also gave me the opportunity to reunite with a couple of my favorite characters from previous books.

This book was too much fun. Their banter and hijinks were hilarious. I loved Henry and Ivy. My only complaint is there wasn't enough. This author has proven that she can pack a great story into a novella but I feel like Henry & Ivy didn't get all that they could have. Still loved it but hope we can see more from this world. Would love to see some of the Eternal Ink guys get a book. I would give this one a 3.5 but rounding up to 4.

⭐️ 3.5 "Kittens" Stars ⭐️
When I learned about the release of Henry & Ivy, I was so excited! I loved every single book in the Fighting Series, but Fighting to Forget is one of my absolute favorite. Henry being Rex and Gia's son had me really intrigued and happy for more of these beloved characters.

While I enjoyed this book, I was a little bit sad to realize it was only a novella. Maybe it's the reason I didn't connect as much as I wanted with the story. Everything felt too rushed in my opinion and some reactions over the top. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable and cute. The rivalry between Henry and Ivy was certainly entertaining.

Henry & Ivy left me on my appetite, but still gave me a good time! I hope to read more of these next generation books in the future.

5 short, sweet and sexy stars!

This is a perfect little novella! Short, sweet, fun and sexy, with great characters and a gorgeously heartfelt romance, I loved it so much!

This is a Fighting series Next Generation book, and I love being back in this world (but it would work as a standalone too)! Henry is the son of Rex and Gia from Fighting to Forget (one of my fave books of the series), and he’s a tattooed, fun loving party boy with a heart of gold. I just adored him!

Ivy is Henry’s neighbour, serious, ordered and a bit of a loner, and she’s pointedly avoided the noisy man next door who keeps her up all hours of the night with his parties. But when she discovers that her dog is pregnant – with Henry’s dog as the only possible culprit - she storms over there to confront him.

It’s not a great first meeting, and sparks a hilarious neighbourly spat that had me laughing out loud. But as Henry and Ivy get to know each other, their opinions of each other start to shift, attraction blooms, and we get this slow-building enemies-to-friends story with fantastic chemistry, and a slow shift into something more.

“I know what it looks like. The connection that enables two people to have full conversations without saying a word. The devotion that every other person and responsibility comes second to … Being completely owned by someone else not just for who you are now, but for whoever you evolve into … And commitment to stick together no matter how fucked up life gets because the worst days together are better than the best days apart.”
She blinks rapidly as if coming out of a daze. “Who?”
I dip a French fry into ketchup. “My parents.”

“Is that what you’re looking for then? That kind of love?”
“I don’t see why I should settle for anything else. If that kind of love and partnership is possible, I want what’s possible.”

See! He’s such a sweetheart!

It’s a gorgeous journey and I felt everything right alongside Henry and Ivy. It’s not completely straightforward, but everything that happens between them natural and realistic, and though it’s fast moving, I was right on board, and I loved watching them fall for each other.

He opens his eyes. “Are you saying you’re mine?”
My heart swells and my pulse races.
“Before you answer that… I know what you think of me, but you’re wrong. If you’ll have me, I’m yours and only yours.”

Of course, there are lots of cameos from the original crew, as well as the next generation, and I loved seeing those wonderful dynamics, and the closeness of the group that still exists (Henry with his parents and his sisters is gorgeous to see). And in a series full of strong, alpha, deeply romantic men, Henry more than holds his own.

“My life’s purpose is to love you, Ivy. I plan on doing it thoroughly as long as you’ll have me.”

Even though it’s a quick read, Salsbury brings the feels, and I loved this love story. And though I could have read about these two for so much longer, the upside of a novella is that it’s too short for any drama, so it’s happy and swoony from start to finish, and completely angst free. It’s such a cute read, and the epilogue left me with a massive smile on my face. I freaking loved it!

A must read for fans - 5 stars!

Reminiscent of R.L. Mathewson’s ‘Neighbour from Hell’ series, except the protagonists are warring over a dog pregnancy whilst duelling an attraction.

Ten weeks later…
“You Sure You’re Okay?” I ask a zoned-out Ivy as she stares down the driveway of my new house where a family just drove off with the last of Miss Hazel’s puppies.
We began to sell off the puppies two weeks ago, and Ivy was happy that most of them went to people we already knew. For the few puppies we had left we interviewed prospective families and decided on homes.
“I think we made a mistake. That girl, had a look I did not like one bit. She gave off the major psycho vibes.”
I come up behind her and wrap my arms around her middle.
“That girl was five years old, boss.”
“Jeffery Dahmer started with animals at that age.”
“You’re doing it again.”
“What… I don’t even know what that means.”
“We interview all the families extensively and take a tour of their home before we approve them but as soon as they leave with a puppy you start coming up with ridiculous ideas—”
“No, I do not.” She pulls back from me with a haughty sniff.
“The preschool teacher?”
Her eyes widen. “She couldn’t stop talking about the puppy’s luxurious coat.”
“That doesn’t mean she had plans to skin the dog to make a coat.”
She squints. “Doesn’t it? And I plan on checking in on her weekly. I’m not above filing an animal cruelty complaint.”
“And then there was the couple you accused of running a dog fighting ring.”
“I did not accuse them, I just asked them.”

“And then there was the young couple that you loved, but after they left with their puppy you said they were animal traffickers, which isn’t even a thing.”
She throws her arms out. “It’s underground. That’s why you don’t know it’s a thing.”
“You brought each of these puppies into the world and you’re attached, I get it. It’s hard to see them go.”
Her bottom lip quivers and she bites it to keep it from giving her away.
“You found the puppies great homes. Trust your judgment.”
“That’s what I’m doing.” I watch her eyes flip from concerned to crazy. “Oh! We have their address. We’ll stop by unannounced and say we forgot to send them with—whoa!”
I scoop her up and carry her back inside. “Common sense didn’t work, so plan B is distraction.”

Three years later…

We have a home birth, complete with a cheering section and happy parents.

*scoops book into my arms and hugs it with a huge smile on my face*

I'm addicted. I will never get enough of this world! It's just... i can't even describe it. It's like it's part of me. Everytime i read it i feel all warm and happy and giddy with pure joy! I just love it!

This story although short packs a real punch! Henry is so like his Dad i just love him! I love him so much. The second he sets eyes on Ivy, deep down he knows she's it. In real fighting series style he's sure and confident in what he feels. His Mom and Dad set an incredible example to him which has given him the insight to see what Ivy could be to him. How i hoped to get a neighbour like him the whole time i was reading.

Ivy seemed like such a lonely character. I felt like she had been on her own for most of her life. I wished we'd got a bit more of her past but i'm extremely happy she now has more family than she knows what to do with!

The fire between them was scorching and i ate it up! I just loved them! I loved how Henry cracked Ivy's icy facade and gave her confidence she'd never had. I also loved how Ivy more or less made the big tattooist swoon at her feet! Of course those meddling little doggies helped the connection along lol who wouldn't unite over illegitimate puppies! Ha ha!

Also... how amazing is it to see my fighting guys. Blake of course steals the show lol Sack decoration is genius! But seeing previous couples still amazingly happy brings such joy to me. I know its cray cray but it does!

Once again another fantastic story by JB Salsbury. She can't do any wrong in my eyes. She crams her stories so full of everything you could ever want from a romance story and gives you things you never knew you wanted from them. Be they full length or novellas i could read her forever! Highly recommend!

Loved

Absolutely loved this book beginning to end.
The author has done it again. The way she brings you into to the story. The way she reminds you of characters like it was just yesterday you read their book and you still picture
like you did last time.
The way you can’t put this book down but then regret it when it gets to the end.

Henry - is a tattoo artist, he wants what he has grown up with. A family who love and protect their own. A relationship that is not a fairy story, that it feels real pouring from the chapters and you want to feel it too. He wants what his parents have always had, Love. The look when you know they are having a silent conversation. But who will be that person for him?? Will he ever find that.

Ivy- is a women who doesn’t believe in love, who doesn’t believe in that soppy stuff, all men want is to get their end way. But when circumstances happen that are out of her control, things could happen. Feelings that are just false, brain playing with your mind happen, what could go wrong?? What won’t she have control with??

This book is just the best. JB Salsbury is amazing. The author who brings your brain alive with pictures just from her words ❤️

Feels like coming home!

This series is by far my favorite! I have loved every second of these characters and was beyond thrilled to learn that Henry was getting a story of his own! This Book is hilarious! I was sitting at the DMV laughing out loud!!! My mom also told me that eating spicy food before bed would give me nightmares! I loved the whole glory hole and dog fence hopping! I loved how Henry was always challengIng Ivy and was able to get her to open up and face her feelings! I always enjoy catching up with the other characters. Especially Blake! OMG! He is something else! This Book is short, sweet and left me wanting more, so much more! I can't wait to see what next generation is next!!! Simply amazing!!!!!

I liked this book right up until the last chapter and epilogue. Having Ivy give birth in a f'ing hallway to mirror her gd dog having babies in the bathroom really grossed me out and felt weirdly exploitative. Not a fan of that at all. Otherwise, there was some good banter and the beginning and I'm a sucker for romances with a big family. On a sour note, Ivy has absolutely no personal history that we know of—no family, no external friends, just one former fwb. I am super not into such a thinly drawn lead. No rating bc I realize this is a novella attached to another (hopefully) more fleshed out series about the other family members. I hope those all have a bit more substance, but I'm not especially keen to read them.

A Love story for two couples!!!!!!

This was a fun story from the beginning. Henry and Ivy are neighbors who haven't actually meet. They share a walk lol. Until their dogs bring them together Miss Hazel and Captain are expecting puppies. So Ivy and Henry are so parenting. Through our the pregnancy the humans learn about each other and discover so much more. Henry wants what his parents have in love. Ivy is very against true love. These two bring out the best in each other. They find what they are longing for to a true happiness. I loved their story short sweet mixed in with a sexy hot tattooed man and a beautiful feisty woman who fits.

Amazing!!

I really really loved this story. All these characters are so special to me , I can read about them forever. Rex”s son Henry is swoon worthy and owns his own tattoo shop. Ivy is a paralegal and not a risk taker at all. Together they are phenomenal. You really route for them from the beginning. Of course Blake has his part in the story and it’s hilarious as usual. I absolutely recommend this book as well as the whole fighting family of books , which are all 100% must reads.

I have to mention Captain and Miss Hazel, they are completely adorable and stole the show.

LOVE!!!!!!!

I want more of the next generation!

This book about Henry and Ivy was so funny and sweet. And Henry is so SWOON!! Where can I find one like him.
Henry and Ivy meet because they are neighbors and their dogs get into some mischief together which makes these two have to spend more time with one another. As much as Ivy wants to fight the pull between them after one kiss she is a goner.
Don’t worry Blake and his funny antics are in this book.
So go read it, you won’t be disappointed.

Another great book from the series I love

This is short and sweet and everything in between. From start to finish I loved every word and absolutely loved Henry! It all started with a surprise pregnancy, they were dogs but still. Two opposites one not really living, not believing in love the other enjoying life waiting for the all consuming love.
I loved their story and it wouldn’t be complete with out a visit from Blake!

Short but its nice getting the children of the characters from the Fighting series stories. Henry is Rex and Gia Carter's son.. Runs his own tattooing business and currently lives in a duplex where he drives his neighbor crazy with late night partying and really makes her mad when his dog knocks up her dog.

Great addition to series

This a great afternoon read. No angst and really likable characters. The first meeting between Henry and Ivy was hysterical. Laugh out loud moments that of course include an appearance by Blake and his over the top antics. The epilogue with a perfect ending.

Awww... short but sweet

Love coming back to this amazing extension family. The chemistry between Henry n Ivy is crazy. The attraction is out of this world. Adore how he observes her when they r talking. Ivy misjudged Henry, thinking he was the player. Love that I get 2 c a quick appearance of Casey Slade. N the rest of the gang from the fighting series at the Slade's domain.

Henry & Ivy

I'm not ready for this story to be over, gosh I miss this world so much! And really what's not to love? Miss Hazel and Captain have a surprise pregnancy, Ivy blames Captain/Henry and then these two opposites fall. And it's sweet, funny and sexy. Plus some of my favorite characters make an appearance. But I want more, so much more.

A good fast read

Read this so fast and loved it. I don’t think I could read it any faster. Henry and Ivy start off with a bang and then they steal your heart ❤️. I would recommend this as a light read cause your not going to put it down till it’s over.

HENRY AND IVY

I wish the story was longer. They were so cute. Henry, like his family is a strong alpha male that falls hard for the logical Ivy. Their dogs were lovable creatures that a!most stole the show.

Super bummed. Totally was looking forward to this book. Gia and Rex's story is in my top 5 all time books. So much intensity. But this book was NOT that. It was light, breezy, yes. No strife. Kinda just bummed. I felt the same about Jack and Sadie.

Quick read of the next generation of “Fighting”, Carter specifically. Don’t expect deep and profound, meant to be enemies to friends trope. I didn’t feel the connection between Henry and Ivy and sexy scenes were Luke warm.
